Changing from pop3 configuration to exchange

Hi ,
I have a client was configured pop3 (outlook 2007 ).  created new profile  with cached exchange mode  ,attached the previous pst file from the old profile which was POP3 and started moving mail from pst file to the new profile . There are
more than 7000 emails  to be migrated from pop3 to cached exchange mode . It is taking very long and some times outlook shows disconnected . Is there an easy  way  other than move emails one by one   from pst to new profile .
Please advise
Thanks

You shouldn't have to move them one-by-one.  You can move a few hundred together.
You might be able to import the PST into the mailbox in Outlook.  Click File > Open > Import > Import from another program or file > Outlook Data File (.pst) > ...
Alternatively, you might be able to import the PST into the mailbox through the Exchange Management Shell.

  • Message status does not change from in-transit [SAP Exchange Connector]

We have a Exchange Server 2003  and SXC 2.05. and we are on R/3 4.6C.
Using the SXC we can send e-mail from SAP to any internet address. But in sap we only have the following status:
"Message transferred by node to communication system".
If the message was sent correct or not by the Exchange Server, the SAP can not obtain this status. And currently the messages are being lost. s
Anyone had gone through this problem ? Any tips will be very useful.

we are using the SMTP node

  • Problems when I changed from POP3 to IMAP in Mail

When using POP3 protocol on my Mac I was able to have a sound played to let me know when new mail came in.  Since I switched to IMAP protocol, I can't seem to make that happen.
I am running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and using the Mail program for our email.  I also have an iPhone and an iPad and saw that using the POP3 protocol, when I read/delete my mail on one of the devices I have to repeat the same actions on all of the devices to keep them in sync.  I was advised that using the IMAP protocol on all of the devices would keep the mail in sync on all of them, so I switched.  That's when the sound stopped playing for newly received email.
I tried defining a rule that says play sound when specific conditions are met, but it is working counterintuitively (i.e. when I am sending a message but not when a new one comes in.)
Clearly, I am missing something.  Is there a setting somewhere that allows me to have a sound played whenever a new piece of mail comes in?  Looking for the support of the community on this one.  Thanks in advance.

You need to make sure you have the correct settings in the mail servers: incoming and outgoing. Make sure they are imap server settings and not POP servers. You will have to check them on all devices. If it's POP on the other devices, it will not sync with IMAP.

  • How to safely change the domain controllers that Exchange use from Out-Of-Site into the In-Site ?

    Hi Folks,
I'd like to know what's the best way to edit the Exchange Server 2007 entry
In-Site entries and removing the entries from Out-Of-Site safely without causing any downtime or problem with the workstations ?
From the MSExchange ADAccess Event ID 2080, I can see that the Domain Controllers that is currently used by Exchange Servers is all on the
In-Site lists which I need to decommission due to office building migration and downsizing, the workstations remain in the same building only the servers must go.
    Current configuration:
Exchange Servers AD Site: HQ1 (for all roles)
    Workstations AD Site: HQ1
    Proposed configuration:
Exchange Servers AD Site: Prod-DC1 (for all roles)
    Workstations AD Site: HQ1
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Steve's clarification is right.
From your description, you want to change the DC used by Exchange server. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
Please make sure the following things before setting the DC for Exchange:
    1. New DC has its own IP in its TCP/IP as primary DNS server.
    2. New DC is global catalog.
    3. New DC has correct DNS settings in the MSDC folder.
    4. Restart the Exchange active directory topology discovery service and watch the event viewer, there should be an event that discover both domain controllers. If this happens, then turn off the old DC.
Besides, topology information will remain in the system attendant service for 15 min, so the time to switch to the new one is about 15 minutes.
    Hope my clarification is helpful.

    Amy,
The Exchange Server has been rebooted couple of times but yes, all of the In-Site AD servers are still on not rebooted yet.
So in this case do you suggest me to demote the oldDC and turn off all of the In-Site DC/GC first and then reboot Exchange Server after wards one by one ?

  • Can't change incomming mailbox type from POP3 to I...

On my E71, I configured e-mail for my ISP in Messaging.  The configuration was straight forward, and it worked.
The ISP now supports IMAP.  If I try and change the incomming mail connection mailbox type from POP3 to IMAP, I get an error "Unable to edit mailbox type once selected.  Define new mailbox".
So I completely delete the ISP mail entry from Messaging, and then tried to re-create it.  When I do this, it automatically fills in the information for me (it remembers the name of the POP server, credentials, etc.) if I use the same e-mail address.
How do I clear this saved information completely so that I can set up the mail?  I don't want to have to blow everything away.
    Thanks,
    Robert

Hi I have same problem... I thought I would be clever and use an invalid service provider and it did fire up manual entry so I added IMAP configuration... fine. BUT when it connected it still went to a POP account!
Looks like this it not being "remembered" but the wizard simply thinks it knows best and uses its own config!!!
You CAN use Nokia messaging (push email) but for me its pointless and means you have to inboxes on the go for the same account
Looks like the wizard needs updating...
BTW disabled PO3 at the service provider also.. does not help

  • Configure POP3, IMAP and exchange online

Configure POP3, IMAP and exchange online does not cause conflicts in outlook for my mail service

    Hello Wesleyhe,
You cannot use AD anything with EOP - if you mean exchange on-line protection.
you have to set a smart host on the SBS server to connect to EOP, you may need to add the EOP server ips to your network config
on the SBS server.  the smart host line (for the send connector on SBS server) is something like: yourdomainname-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.
Then you need to configure the outside ip for your SBS server access in the EOP admin area.
    Hope this helps.

  • I have a Domain name with email forwarding to my Service Provider which worked very well when I had a PC. Now I have iMac and have changed to IMAP from POP3 so I can sync. between iMac and iPad but how?

I have a Domain name with email forwarding to my Service Provider which worked very well when I had a PC. Now that I have iMac I have changed the account type to IMAP from POP3 so I can sync. between iMac and iPad but how?
I do receive emails into my iMac for which I have 3 email accounts but am struggling on how synchronise between iMac and iPad so that both are up to date at all times.  I have also set up a iCloud email account thinking this was the way to go but have drawn a blank.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Linc Davis,
I have set up my email address both within my iMac and my ISP as IMAP accounts and I receive all emails without problem on my iMac. I have also set up an iCloud email address using my iMac.
I have enabled the email within "setting" on my iPad and have used the iCloud account.  I have sent emails from the iMac to iPad using the iCloud account address and vice versa.  I have also sent emails from the iPad to the iMac using my non-iCloud email address and they have gotten through.
The one thing I would like to have is for the iPad "mail" mailboxes to mimic the iMac "mail" mailboxes and both to be "in sync".  I am not really interested in using the iCloud email address for my email but would really like to use my "normal" addresses as these are what most people know me by.
Do I need to set additional accounts within the iPad which are the same as the email accounts I have within the iMac and my ISP?  I have reached the end of my knowledge as regards email synchronsing.
    Thanks

  • Changing Mail Account from POP3 to IMAP

I have to change hosts for my domain and primary e-mail address, and as long as I need to recreate my account, I’d like to change it from POP3 to IMAP. How would I change the account settings in Mail so that all my previous e-mails aren’t deleted when I change protocols? Thanks.

As I don't know whether what you want to do is possible or not, I would rather create a new account with the new settings and copy the emails from the old one to the new one (I think this will keep email dates correct). Then, after verifying that the new one works OK, I would delete the old one.

And you will need to setup bank change commands for your particular instrument, if it does in fact have several banks of internal patches. Logic comes with a selection of bank change commands, one of them will almost always work.
My first copy of Logic came on floppies, two of them I think and was MIDI only, moved up to Logic_Audio at version 3.0 I think.

    Hi skippy2012trev,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    Joe

  • How can i change a POP3 account to an IMAP account ???

How can i change a POP3 account to an IMAP account ???

    Hi,
In Outlook we can't "convert" an account from POP3 to IMAP directly. Just setup the account as IMAP and remove the POP3 one. You may need to keep a backup of the POP3 .pst if you downloaded and removed the items from the server. Once the IMAP account
is setup, move the items from the old .pst flie into the new account.
If you didn't remove the items on the server when using the POP3 account, you can choose not to keep the .pst file as long as the items are still on the server.

  • Unable to Initialize Volume Manager from a Configuration File

I'd like to reattach a D1000 to a rebuilt system. The array contains a raid 5 partition that was built with Solaris Volume Manager (Solaris 9). Since it is the same system all controller/target/slice ids have not changed. I was able to restore the Volume Manager configuration files (/etc/lvm) from a tape backup and followed the instructions provided in the Solaris Volume Manager Administration Guide: How to Initialize Solaris Volume Manager from a Configuration File <http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/816-4519/6manoju60?a=view>.
All of the state database replicas for this partition are contained on the disks within the array so I began by creating new database replicas on a local disk.
I then copied the /etc/md.cf file to /etc/md.tab
    # more /etc/lvm/md.tab
    # metadevice configuration file
    # do not hand edit
    d0 -r c1t10d0s0 c1t11d0s0 c1t12d0s0 c1t8d0s0 c1t9d0s0 c2t10d0s0 c2t11d0s0 c2t12d0s0 c2t8d0s0 c2t9d0s0 -k -i 32b -h hsp000
    hsp000 c1t13d0s0 c2t13d0s0
I then tested the syntax of the md.tab file (this output is actually from my secomd attempt).
    # /sbin/metainit -n -a
    d0: RAID is setup
metainit: <hostname>: /etc/lvm/md.tab line 4: hsp000: hotspare pool is already setup
Not seeing any problems I then attempted to recreate the d0 volume, but it fails with the error below:
    # /sbin/metainit -a
metainit: <hostname>: /etc/lvm/md.tab line 3: d0: devices were not RAIDed previously or are specified in the wrong order
metainit: <hostname>: /etc/lvm/md.tab line 4: hsp000: hotspare pool is already setup
Any suggestions on how to reinitialize this volume would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Doug

  • Converting from InMotion Hosting to Exchange 2013 Migration

    Hello everyone,
We are looking to convert our current mail service being hosted on InMotion using POP3 to our Exchange 2013 server. Is there a migration guide somewhere I could find or something to lead me in the right direction? We want to forward the mail from InMotion

    The migration can include:

    2. Database migration.
    3. Some A and MX records need to be configured.
