Changing IPOD's Name

Hi,
I have two questions. The first one is: I subscribed to a podcast and set it to download and keep all episodes.
So far it's downloaded three over a three week period
but only the latest one shows in Itunes. All three do reside in the Podcast folder though. Question Two is:
If I want to sell my ipod can I just erase the music and sell it or do I have to deauthorize it or something in order to erase the name I have given it. Thanks in advance
for the help......Eric

The name can be changed manually in the source list, however if you are going to sell it then it would be simpler just to restore it. Restoring your iPod will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

  • How to change ipod's name?

    Hi,
I just bought an ipod 160gb and transfered my files. I noticed it gave the ipod my current username's name (the username I am logged on in Windows). I don't want this ugly hardcoded username. I want my name on it (my first name, for instance).
I haven't found where can I change this...
    Thanks,
    Leo

  • Changing ipod album name display

On itunes on my computer I can personalize how information is displayed. . If I'm clicked on a folder, I can click "View" and then "View Options" and display or hide any info that I want.
But I don't see these kinds of options for my ipod. . Specifically, I would like to see the album name before I begin playing a song and bring up the song playing screen. . I only see the album name on the current song playing screen. . If I Menu back to check out what I want to listen to next, I can never see the album name. . I can only see the song name and artist name.
Can I change how my ipod displays the information that it has so that it displays the album name within the playlist BEFORE I select a song to play ?

If I Menu back to check out what I want to listen to next, I can never see the album name. . I can only see the song name and artist name.
It all depends how you got to the song playing.
Go to Music -> Albums and it will do what you want.

  • We have an itunes account on our desktop and my kids have it on their ipod and iphone. I went in and changed our user name from my old e-mail address which is no longer accessible to my new one and now either of my kids can access the itunes store..

We have an itunes account on our desktop and both my kids have it on iphone and ipod. I went in and changed out user name from an old e-mail address which is no longer accessible to my one I use now... When the kids try to sign onto the itunes store it tells them they have the wrong user name..
    Can this be fixed??

Did you change the email address or create a new Apple ID?
If the email address associated with the account was merely changed, sign out of the Apple ID on the devices and sign in using the new credentials.

  • Change wav file names on iPod - unreadable

Hi. I was asked to import some important imterviews made on an iPod mini and an ExtremeMac Micromemo onto a Mac, but, as requested, I change the file names first. Since changing the file names the files are completely unplayable, undownloadable and unrecoverable. Please, can anyone help.
    Matthew Whiting

    Hi Chris
What I did was to change the file names of the wav files in the Finder while they were still on the iPod Nano, before downloading them to iTunes. The iPod Nano uses a hybrid file system, and once the file names were changed iTunes refused to recognize the files. The Finder and Mac OS X flags them as wav files but cannot read them. All other software (players, audio apps and file recovery apps) that we have attempted to use, whether on Mac OS X, Windows XP and Vista, and Linux Red Hat has either crashed, failed to read the files or ignored them. Changing the file names back to an arbitrary time, similar to the original, still does not help.
It's hard to appreciate the problem, but two of us with many years of Mac (and other IT) experience spent three hours yesterday, on a total of 6 computers, trying to get something to read or recover these files, without any luck whatsoever.
    Thanks for your interest.
I might be able to get my hands on some industrial strength recovery software, today, and then we'll see. The problem, however, is that the data of the files is intact, but absolutely nothing succeeds in reading them as wav files.

  • How do I change the iPod Device Name?

I missed the field to change my ipod's "name" - it assumed the computer name as the device name. How can I update the device name?

  • I just started up with my IPod, I download music to my library and I accidently changed the artists name in an entire category.  I can't figure out how to undo it. I read the edit help stuff but I can't select the item I need to edit

I just started using my IPod and I downloaded my library.  I accidently changed the artist names for an entire genre category and I can't undo it.  I read all the edit help stuff and I either can't select items to edit or I'm an idiot and I can't figure it out.  I keep trying and I get a pop up that asks me if I want to change multiple items.

Did you ever resolve the iCloud problem.I am in the same position and its driving me mad!!! If you have a link to an solution I would appreciate it.

  • Ipod nano 7. Is it possible change the standard name?

I bought one Ipod nano 7th generation and I have to sync it for the first time.
I would like know if I can name my new ipod nano with an its special name.
I have already registred my Ipod with my apple account, but I do not see the possibility to change the name.
    It's possible?

The name that appears for the iPod in iTunes?  Yes, you can change it.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, the iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
Click on the iPod there, to select it.  Click on the iPod's name a second time.  It become editables.  Enter the new name and press Return on the keyboard.
NOTE:  iPods (that are not iPod touch) are not directly linked to your Apple ID ("Apple account").  They are associated with your iTunes library on your computer.

  • How do I change the device name in my iPod Nano?

    Hello,
I need someone to help me change the device name showing in my iPod Nano. Right now, I guess, it is taking the user name of the computer where I registered my iPod and where my iTune is running. I would like to change this to the name of the real owner of the iPod. Thank you.

Plug the iPod in. When it shows up in the source list of your iTunes (the bit to the left of the screen), put your cursor over the name of the iPod in the source list and click it once. After a second or so, you should be able to edit the name.
