Changing STS status using ABAP

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to change status in STS using some ABAP program or FM?
If it isn't possible, we can update table UPS_CHANGELOG. But in that case I suppose no emails will be sent.

The STS interface is run by class CL_UPS_VISUALIZATION.
Method UPDATE_GT_LAUFZEIT looks to be one used for update.

Is it possible to set Work Status using Script logic, or an SSIS package.
I know status is kept is an SQL table, is it possible to just update the locking table with a new record, or is there more to changing the work status.

Thanks for your reply. This would be a nice enhancement.
Although the work status does help with the audit trail of who and what locks the data, doing it automatically will allow the system to automatically unlock the period when it is opened before auto-loading the current closing balances. It will need to be carefully used in order to maintain proper audit trail of the data. When done automatically, the system userid would be used in the lock table witha timestamp.
I am needing to know if there are anyother steps involved in locking data other than writing to the SQL lock table. Is usppose this is especailly relevant when locking a parent and pushing the status to the children.

The application name is not necessarily uniqueue! Customers may create two applications with same name in different systems/clients and transport them into the same target system/client!
You do the mapping with the query:
CL_FDT_FACTORY=>GET_INSTANCE( )->GET_QUERY()->...
There are two methods. One for mapping ID to name and one for name to ID.
There is also a sample report in package SFDT_DEMO_OBJECTS.

Issue with FM 'STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN' using ABAP Proxy

Hi Experts,
I am using the FM 'STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN'   & 'STATUS_CHANGE_INTERN' to change the user status & system status using ABAP Proxy.
But SAP is updating the system status using ABAP Proxy through ''STATUS_CHANGE_INTERN'' but not updating the User stauts 'STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN' using ABAP Proxy but when run the same in foreground then it's working fine..
I have already used the External Commit for the same.
Please help me in this case.

Change the Status Message description of IDOC

Hi All,
As per the requirement, we need to change the Description of the standard IDOC status messages.
Example:
STANDARD : Status 51 - Application Document not posted
DESIRED : Status 51 - Application Document not posted, can be reprocessed
We have found the maintenance view to change the same : VEDI_STATS.
Is it advisable to do so?
if Yes Why? and if No then Why?
Note: I'll be changing ONLY description and nothing else.

I would suggest not to change the status using VEDI_STATS.
.. if you want to change do it at function module level for each message type. where you can change the idoc status to which ever message you want to.

Status change of Single correction using Abap report

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to change the status of Single correction CR's to "completed" and also set the preceding document to appropriate status . I am using the function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN followed by ORDER_SAVE to do so.
But this does not change the status.
Please let me know if there is anything that has to be done while changing the status of CR through an ABAP Report.

Process: We have acheived this using the "Work Item Exits", Usng "AFTER_EXECUTION" Method.
Note: The Exit will be executed if "exit_cancelled" statement is present/used in the work item method. if not it is not taking to the exit code. I'm unable to find the reason for it. Florin can u please explain this point.

API for access of guided procedure from ABAP / WebDyn: change/read status

Hallo together,
I'm very new to guided procedure and have some questions about possible interaction between WebDynpro ABAP and Portal guided procedures (UWL ?)
is it possible to access a guided procedure or their attributes from WebDynpro ABAP? What are the relevant key attributes (ID's) to do so?
Is is possible to change the status of a guided procedures f.e. from "completed" to "ready" from outside, let say WebDynpro ABAP? for the purpose of a monitor for mgrs.
- possible szenario is a manager says: "no, not well done" go back to start and do it again !
- another szenario: guided procedure is "running" and should be set to "completed"

There is a good and a bad news regarding APIs for GP and ABAP Web Dynpro and GP:
The good news is that you can find [here|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/current/gp/index.html] the APIs for GP.
The bad news is that the cooperation capabilities between GP and ABAP Web Dynpro are restricted in a certain way. One can use a ABAP Web Dynpro in GP as callable object, but GP is only capable to transport parameter values from GP to the UI but not vice versa. In many cases one needs a solution where the ABAP Web Dynpro UI accepts user inputs and forwards them to the GP context. This is not supported.

Function to change status of the STS (Status and Tracking System)

Hi experts,
do you know a way to execute a function that changes status in the STS hierarchy?
We have a web interface with a BPS layout in it, and want to change the status of the STS according to the legal entity that has been changed as soon as a user clicks on a button.
Do you know a way (function or sth else) to do that?
Any hint will be greatly appreciated!

Have a look to these badis: CRM_ORDER_AUTH_CHECK (for authorization purposes), and CRM_ORDER_SAVE (To check the changes at save).

Using ABAP instrution to change screen field properties

Hi,
I've a screen (SE51) and i need to change field properties using an ABAP instrution.
I need to do this... if variable LV_NDEP_IN is not initial, user can't change field content.
I've tried this...

On using RH_INSERT_INFTY to change HRP1000 status

Dear Gurus,
I'm using RH_INSERT_INFTY to change the status(ISTAT) of HRP1000.
According to the FM documentation: In the case of a status change, however, note the following: The fact that the record is deleted with the old status (except PLVO).
But the result seems that, when I change the ISTAT by using RH_INSERT_INFTY, the record with the old status is still there in the DB table HRP1000. I think the time constraint of HRP1000 must be set to 1.
Could you please advise how could I delete the record with the old status in this case?

Finally, I have to delete the record by myself by calling FM RH_DELETE_INFTY_DIRECT.
Even if I changed only the ISTAT field of the HRP1000 record, say, from 1 to 2, the old record with ISTAT = 1 would not be deleted after I inerted the ISTAT = 2 record.
If we don't delete the record with ISTAT = 1 before hand, there will be 2 record in the HRP1000 table, all the fileds' value are the same except the ISTAT field.
But it's also very tricky that, it seems that if I change the ISTAT and the BEGDA/ENDDA in 1 FM call of RH_INSERT_INFTY, the ISTAT = 2 record will be delimited too.

Can i Change/Update the Lead Status using Action profile of Activity.

I have created one Lead, and on the basis of Qualification level action triggers and Ativity getting generated.
I want to know that it is possible by using functions(Action Profile/conditions) in activity, If i change the status reason of Activity (as Accepted) Earlier Leads status would change.(as Close)

What I understand is, u wish to change the status of preceding lead transaction when the activity status reason is changed to accepted.
1. This functionality can be achieved using ORDER_SAVE Badi. This Badi implementation shall check the activity reason changed to accepted, if yes, read the doc flow, get the lead transaction and change its status to close.
2. As per my knowledge use of action profiles and conditions will not be helpful in this case.Else, create an action definition as Activity reason changed, put a condition which like Activity reason= Accepted.
In the action definition Processing type use method call.
Here u will have to create a new implementation of the BADI of action profile, and put the same logic as stated in point 1.
But in think implementing point 1 should be easier.

I tried to change card status from "INITIALIZED" to "SECURED" after putting 3 keys.
However it says "Conditions of use not satisfied"

Ok well in playing around with my code, I had narrowed the problem down to a cipher object that I was using for signing (even though I was explicitly setting it to null when the applet was uninstalled). I store the key that I pass into the init call in an array - I changed this array from static to non static and that has made the problem go away. However I am not sure why. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
