BeG2007, Welcome to the discussion area!
Yes.
To have your MacBook Pro join a wireless network, go to the AirPort menu and select the network name.
To have your MacBook Pro create a wireless network, go to the Sharing preference pane and enable Ethernet to wireless.

  • How to change wireless card locale?

I'm unable to connect to router, which is set to channel 12 or 13. So I start googling and I found out that in the US and Canada, approved channels are 1-11 but in Europe it is 1-13.
I check my wlan adapter on MB Air and wireless card locale is set to USA!
Is it possible to change wireless card locale to Worldwide?
    Thanks, David

The location on your Mac should be set by the same time zone used for the Mac's clock. (you don't say where in the world you are)
You have to log into your router to change the country/ area channel for the router.

  • Changing wireless keys in WAP4410N WDS network

    Hello
Few days ago I configured one WAP4410N to work as AP, and two others to work as WDS Repeater (Security Mode: WPA2-Personal). Everything work OK: I have huge range and good WiFi performance.
But I wonder if I did something wrong or it is normal situation, that I must change wireless key on every WAP4410N (working as WDS repeater) in my network?
I thought that only thing i must do is change wireless key on "first" WAP4410N, which work as AP.
Should I configure my devices in another way?
When I make similiar configuration on cheap Edimax devices Wireless Key was not needed on Repeaters. I think it is logical, because repeater only amplifies the signal
Thanks in advance for any answer.

    Hello everyone,
    hi Tim !
Maybe a final hint: I read online that the encryption should be set to WEP (better than nothing I thought), but the TC does only give the security options "WPA/WPA2 Personal" or "WPA2 Personal" and not the option of WEP security. How can this be?!
launch airport utility and select +manual setup+ for your TC. go to the wireless tab and option-click on the +wireless security+ pop-up menu. you should now see the option for WEP.
    any help ?

  • Unable to change wireless security settings on WRT54GS v5.1

    I'm using a WRT54GS v.5.1 with the latest firmware (v1.50.9).
Set this up this weekend - all was fine until last night when the router stopped broadcasting the signal. I've reset the modem countless times and powered it down and back on again.
The router is now working fine - but I'm unable to change any of the wireless security settings. When I try to change the setting under Wireless > Wireless Security to WEP, it just jumps back to Disable and no changes can me made. Same situation when trying to enable a Wireless MAC Filter?
Any ideas? I don't want to use the router without any security in place!

you can try to upgrade the firmware of your.
    try this link :

make sure to select the correct model and version of your router. if you cant see the model # of your router as one of the downloads, you will need to have the router replace (hope you'll not).

The screen did a scan, got to 99% and Hangs IE. Under the screen my wireless options are displayed. The only way out is to close IE by Xing or closing. I can't get to my wireless options to change them.
    Any suggestions?

  • Change wireless to direct to computer

How can I change from wireless to print direct from computer?
Can't use wireless as I don't have enough data time

Very simple.  Follow the instructions in the manual that came with the printer.  If you don't have that, search the HP web site for your model number, download and read the information and follow the instructions.   Make sure you have a cable.

  • Changing EPN topology programmatically

    Hello,
I haven't been able to programmatically add new elements to an EPN. I've just found this thread, that is one year old, and seems to confirm that it is not possible:
Examples of programatic creation of EPN elements
Could you please confirm that is still not possible to programmatically create new EPN elements or to modify the topology? For example I managed to add an event sink (a processor) to a channel but not to add a source to a channel or to add a listener to a processor.
    Thanks,
    Alberto

    Hi,
Programmatically changing the EPN is not supported.
What you can do, however, is deploy new functionality as a separate module and link it to an existing EPN provided that the existing EPN advertises its stages. For example,if a channel is advertised, you can deploy a new module that contains an EventSink which will receive events from the existing channel.

  • Windows 7 64 bit, changed wireless modem, now c4500 all in one will not print.

I had to have my wireless modem changed and now my 2 laptops will not print. 1). windows 7 64 bit.  2) windows xp, version 2002 service pack 3. The new wireless modem is from ATT u-verse 2wire892. I tried reinstalling on the windows 7 laptop and it tells me can't be installed on that operating system. I had it there before. I ran a Wireless Network Test Report and under the network name it still has the old net name not the new one, how do I change that?

Found diagnostic utility at hp support.  Though I lost all jobs in the queue, printer is again working.  YEAH!

  • Change wireless password b209

i have a photosmart plus b209a-m and recently changed my WEP key. now my printer won't connect b/c it's on the old key, and i can't figure out how to update it. i've checked the forums and can't find a thread for changing the wireless password for my specific type of printer. please help!

You may be able to set this up by going to your start menu, programs, hp, b209a, and then printer setup and software. From here you can go to add device, and see if it gives the option to set the device up via wireless.
If this does not work you may have to reinstall the software and go through wireless setup during the install. The link below shows how to do this on all of the different operating systems:

  • Airport Card won't connect after changing wireless networks

    Hello,
I have a black macbook with an internal airport extreme wireless card. I use the computer at school and at home. Both school and home have functioning wireless networks in which other computers are connected and running with no problems.
When I open my laptop and wake it from sleep after changing from school to home or visa versa the airport card often will not recognize the wireless network. On many occations, even when the network is recognized it will not automatically connect to it (I have it set to do). A message saying "There was an error joining the network" comes up. The only resolution has been to reset the computer (which doesn't always work) or reset the PRAM.
Sometimes after reseting the PRAM the computer doesn't even recognize that I have an airport card installed at all. When this happens I have to reset the PRAM again to resolve it.
As a final note, when the computer doesn't automatically recognize the network and I click on the desktop wireless network icon, I get the "spinning beach ball" for a period of time before the drop down box with the available networks shows up. This seems strange to me because it shouldn't be a RAM issue as I have 2GB of ram installed on this computer.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Try the following:
    Delete Preferred Network(s)
    - System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Configure
    - In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
    - Delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list
    Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
    - Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
    - Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
    - Restart, or log out then back in.
    Add Preferred Network(s)
    - System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Configure
    - In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
    - Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
    - Restart or log out then back in.
If you haven't already, you may want to consider creating a network location for each (school & home) with the appropriate network settings required for connectivity at each. For each location, you can set the preferred network.

  • HP C4780 Changing Wireless Router - Mac 10.9.4

    Hello Everyone,
Hoping someone can help me. I have a photosmart C4780 printer which was connected to my sky router so that I could print remotely from my macbook which is running Mavericks 10.9.4
I have recently changed to a sky hub and tried resetting the network settings on the printer itself, as well as trying the WPS push method however I cannot get my printer to join the new network as it has a different SSID, I have a lot of other devices on the new SSID so do not really want to have to change the SSID to match the old one. When I run the print out report it says SSID = FAIL.
I have run software updates and there are none for HP in my app store & have tried to use the HP easy wireless set up app from the store with no luck. I have checked my router's network configuration page and WPS is enabled.
Please if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

  • Changing Wireless Channel on CISCO Router

How do I change the wireless channel on a CISCO 1811W (MPC8500) router? Currently it is channel 10 and I prefer to change it to channel 1 to reduce interference with microwave oven. I have already replaced the standard antenna with 7dBi high gain antenna.
Out of 12 wireless clients about 3 are being dropped whenever microwave oven is turned on. These clients have Linksys WMP54G Wireless G PCI adapters. Other client computers are notebooks with builtin wireless adapters and desktops with Belkin, TRENDnet, or Motorola  Wireless PCI or USB adapters.
All computers are within about 60'-80' radius from the CISCO wireless router and are about 20' away from the microwave oven. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I tried in SDM and could not find a way to change radio channel.
How do I invoke command line interface (CLI)? I found the following from Cisco Wireless ISR and HWIC Access Point Configuration Guide.
    Configuring Radio Channel Settings
Step 1          configure terminal                     - enter global configuration mode
Step 2          interface dot11radio 0                   - enter interface configuration mode for the radio interface. The 2.4 GHz radio is radio 0, and 5 GHz is 1.
    Step 3           channel frequency | least-congested - set the default channel for the wireless radio - Channel 1 2412 MHz, Ch 2 2417, Ch 3 2422, etc.
                                                                          - To search for the least-congested channel on startup, enter least-congested
Step 4          end                                        - return to privileged EXEC mode
Step 5          copy running-config startup-config          -(optional) save your entries in the configuration file.
I need help to enter into the privileged EXEC mode. Once I type https://10.10.10.1 (router IP) I get a login screen (Level_15 or view access). Once I enter User Id and Password I get Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) that has Home, Configure, and Monitor tabs.
Configure - Interfaces & Connections - Edit Interfaces & Connections - DOT11Radio0 shows status as Up; but does not allow me to change anything. Neither channel nor frequency is displayed.
So I not sure how to use SDM to change the default channel.
I will appreciate any help in this regard.

  • Time machine setup - how to change 'wireless network name' and settings?

I have moved laptop to Mountain Lion.
This is the first time to backup to Timecapsule.
I went to Settings then Select Disk and selected existing Time Machine.
It took more than 30 minutes and seemed stuck on 'Preparing ....".
I cancelled and tried to 'Setup Time Capsule not  listed"...
The system recognised the Time Capsule but I see that the network settings is my old 'wireless network' name.
How do I change this to the correct network name and ensure that the settings are correct?
I think if this is corrected, the backup will work.
    Thanks in advance.

On the Home screen of the product control panel, touch the right arrow ( ) to view more options.
    Touch Setup ( ).
    Touch Network .
    Touch Wi-Fi Protected Setup .
    Touch PIN .
Touch Start . The product displays a PIN.
NOTE:The product begins a timer for approximately two minutes to allow you time to enter the PIN on the networking device.
Enter the PIN on the WPS-enabled router or other networking device.
