Hi,
After deploying ChaRM, if we refresh QA system with production server, would the projects be overwritten?
or Is there a way to perform system refresh without affecting CTS projects in QA?

What do you mean with "Delta transports"? I assume, delta transports contain those objects which were not moved to production, only to QA, and therefore the are now missing in QA after system copy.
CHaRM process supports to move all changes controlled into Production, by using normal corrections (transaction type SDMI). So there should no delta transport be required. If something was in QA and not on Production, when you perfromed the system copy, you can use test transport functionality, to re-import these missing transports into QA.

Hello,
We recently refreshed OIM in dev with OIM from production. I used the OIM web console to change the password for XELSYSADM in dev.
I am observing a repeated problem of user XELSYSADM exceeding the number of allowed attempts to login and the XELSYSADM is then locked out. I used SQLDeveloper to unlock the user. However, the same problem comes back.
What did I miss as part of the settings in DEV after the refresh from production?

I would suggest you check the logs to see when the issue happens and it might show you some other clue to why it's happeneing.

Increased time_wait on Websense systems after LB HTTP with ACE

I was wondering if anyone knew why we would see an increase of tcp sessions in time_wait status after setting up HTTP load balancing. The systems are Websense boxes that are being used both as a proxy (which the VIP is for) and with WCCP. We have 5 total systems but only 3 have been added to the serverfarm. The two that are are not in the serverfarm and not having this issue. The we are using L4 LB. So the two, non LB systems are on the client side VLAN. Any ideas?

Did all the client fulfil the requirement?
And if reboot is required in the KB article, we’d better reboot it and install the next.

Cannot restore the phone after Tango(refresh with ...

Thanks for the feedback. You can not use the restore function in Zune to get information back to your phone. The restore function will completely rewrite the restored content including the OS and firmware.
You can sync music and other media files back using Zune. All contacts will be synced back as soon as you setup their accounts again in Settings>email+accounts and you can re-download apps using the app Reinstaller. For paid apps you can just select BUY again and you will be notified you have paid for the app and you can install it again after that.

How can EBS 12.1.3 upgraded from 11.5.10 be refreshed with data from the live 11.5.10

Hello Gurus,
Early this year we upgraded an 11i EBS system to a 12.1.3 for testing and now accounting wants the data in the new 12i system to be refreshed with the most recent data from PROD (11i). Is this possible wihtout going through the entire upgrade process?

Table structure changed in testing system after system refresh.

Hi Team,
Recently we underwent a system refresh in Testing System where the Testing data is filled with Production data. But now we find that in one table some fields which we had deleted they are again found there. The version history of table is also gone. The table object was under testing in testing system and after which it was supposed to be transported to production. I believe System refresh only means refresh of data and it has nothing to do with table structure. Please correct me if I am wrong. Please also let me know what could be the reason of those changes in table if it is not System Refresh.

Alas, you were wrong, after all table definition are data too, as program sources...
You have to re-import every transport request which was not yet transported to production in your test system.

We are doing a source system refresh for CRM 5.0 Production to CRM Quality.My question is the source system of the BW system will be Changed and the BW Quality will have old data. What are the Post Activities which needs to be done in BW 7.0 system after the CRM system is refreshed.
So that the Quality BW system which will be now Production can have fresh data from Production System of CRM.

I have another issue. My CRM Reports BI 7.0 is being displayed in Enterprise Portal, We have defined variables for user entry and they can select the values from the selection screen of the variable.
Let's say we have 80 thousand records and we have variable let's say Client Name, where the user wants to select his client name and display records for that client. The Screen shows him only 72 rows of data i.e nearly 1000 records of Client Name. But we have nearly 20000 client names, and only 1000 client names are being displayed to select from. If he does a filter (eg: A, it displays all the names starting with A, but when we say B or C*, though the data is available in the ODS table, those client name is not displayed in the Screen.
My question is how to Display all the Values or atleast when he gives A* or B* or Z* it should display those Names, so that he can see the records for those client Name.
I have done all sorts of R&D to achieve this but in Vain.
Please help me to sort this.

Activitis in satellite Systems after Refresh

Dears,
In our landscape we have Three system in which Quality system is refreshed every third month with Production system.Now issue is we have completed solman implementation in this landscape with these three systems as satellaite and system refresh needs to be done next week.
Now I want to know what activities i should in quality so that it could work properly after refresh in solman like in system montoring,service desk and all activities.
Users and RFC's will be saved by exporting them.Now except it what should be done.

Our experience was that there were usually problems with the connections with Solution Manager, even if they were saved and restored. The best approach we found was after the system refresh, we would delete the generated RFC's and user-id's in the SolMan system and in the QA system. We would also delete the entries for the systems in transaction SMT1. Then, we would go back to transaction SMSY and regenerate the RFC connections. Afterward, the configuration in STMS would be checked and redistributed across the transport domain.

System refresh with Commvault

Hallo,
we want to perform a SAP refresh, e.g. restore instance ABC from host1 to instance DEF on host2.
The backup was taken using Commvault software and the backint interface.
Looking at the Commvault documentation there seems to be a procedure in place for performing the above with Oracle only (not using backint).
However, the documentation does not mention anything for SAP (backint). All what's covered is the restore to the same SID on different hosts.
For other backup tools (eg. Networker, Dataprotector) I only had to execute the following command to restore:
brrestore -d util_file -b behhulnv.anf -m all -c force -u /
However, with Commvault this commands throws the following error:
Success in getting Job id=837 Token=<837:2:1>
Success in init with JM
getJobListByInstanceId=34 retCode=1
Cannot get the list of Jobs
Cannot figure out the job type legacy or Snap?

I have created the initPIQ.utl file which has:

So basically my test system is PIQ and the Production is PIP
I have the line :

I then try to restore in commvault by right clicking the production client:
But I am getting the error in the log:

Do you have 2-step verification on for your Apple ID? I may have a solution.
When I upgraded to Yosemite and subsequently updated my Apple ID, I would get errors when I tried to sign into iMessage and FaceTime using my apple ID (and my new password), I similarly was not able to sign in. On FaceTime, I would get errors like "unable to sign in at this time" or some times just nothing at all (the spinning 'processing' graphic would grind away until it presumably just timed out).
Turns out that I enabled 2-step notification on for my Apple ID (totally forgot about it, I set it up a couple years ago), and apparently the regular Apple ID password that you choose is not usable when you try to log in to iMessage or FaceTime through the programs themselves (intuitively, this makes sense since these programs do not have a way to prompt you for the "2nd step" code).
To solve, you have to log in to your Apple ID online (appleid.apple.com or whatever), and look for the option to "Generate App-Specific Passwords". These are unique, random passwords which are made to work around issues like these since they can be used in iMessage or FaceTime or what not. This is the same idea as to what you have to do to log into gmail on your iPhone if you have Google 2-step verification on.
This solved my issue (after lots of swearing and hair pulling!). Would have been nice if a I got some sort of warning when updating my Apple ID password that "Hey, you have 2-step enabled. Go make some app-specific passwords or you will lose 5 hours of your life trying to solve this mystery"

Performance issue in browsing SSAS cube using Excel for first time after cube refresh

As that thread is marked as answer, but my issue is not resolved, I am creating a new thread.
I am facing a cache and performance issue for the first time when I try to open a SSAS cube connection using Excel (using Data tab -> From Other Sources --> From Analysis Services) after daily cube refresh. In end users system (8 GB RAM but around
4GB available RAM), for the first time, it takes 10 minutes to open the cube. From next run onwards, its open up quickly within 10 secs.
We have daily ETL process running in high end servers. The configuration of dedicated SSAS cube server is 8 core, 64GB RAM. In total we have 4 cube DB - out of which for 3 is full cube refresh and 1 is incremental refresh. We have seen after daily cube
refresh, it takes 10 odd minutes to open the cube in end users system. From next time onwards, it opens up really fast with 10 secs. After cube refresh, in server systems (32 GB RAM, around 4GB available RAM), it takes 2 odd minutes to open the cube.
Is there, any way we could reduce the time taken for first attempt ?
As mentioned in my previous thread, we have already implemented a cube wraming cache. But, there is no improvement.
Currently, the cumulative size of the all 4 cube DB are more than 9 GB in Production and each cube DB having 4 individual cubes in average with highest cube DB size is 3.5 GB. Now, the question is how excel works with SSAS cube after
daily cube refresh?
Is it Excel creates a cache of the schema and data after each time cube is refreshed and in doing so it need to download the cube schema in Excel's memory? Now to download the the schema and data of each cube database from server to client, it will take
a significant time based on the bandwidth of the network and connection.
Is it anyway dependent to client system RAM ? Today the bigest cube DB size is 3.5 GB, tomorrow it will be 5-6 GB. Now, though client system RAM is 8 GB, the available or free RAM would be around 4 GB. So, what will happen then ?

Could you run the following two DMV queries filling in the name of the cube you're connecting to. Then please post back the row count returned from each of them (by copying them into Excel and counting the rows).

Page is not refreshing with the correct data.

Hello experts,
I have an unusual situation and I'm not sure why it is happening. We have 3 instances and the error is occurring in one of them.
So here is the issue:
1) I created a custom extended controller for a customer site form to check the character length of address lines 1 and 2.
2) User creates a new contact under customer site. On the contact creation page, the contact information is entered and click Apply.
After the contact has been created, the application directs you back to the customer site page.
3) On the customer site page, the user clicks Apply again. The custom extended controller runs and then it takes you back to the customer site page.
4) Now the page has some other address that is not in anyway related to the customer.
5) I checked in the back end and the address is associated to hz_parties.party_id = -1.
If I remove the custom controller the page refreshes with the correct address information. What I am baffled is that it is only happening in 1 of the 3 instances (all using Release 12.1.3).
I already asked the dba to bounce middle tier/apache, cleared the cache and it is still having the same issue.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

We have a SharePoint 2013 farm with excel services, besides we have a server with two SQL 2012 Sp1 BI instances one for database (default instance) and one named instance (servername\powerpivot) for sharepoint mode analysis services. In sharepoint we created
a powerpivot gallery and load a workbook with powerview features. When we load the workbook, it creates its database in the remote analysis service correctly, but, when we click data->refresh connections we get the following error:

This issue might be caused by the SharePoint Server pass the incorrect credential to the SSAS Server. In SSAS Server side, I would suggest you create a SQL Server Analysis Services trace and then capature some events to check the login information when
you refresh a worksheet from SharePoint Sever. Here is an article for your reference, please see:

System refresh from Production to Quality

We are going for system refresh from Production to Quality. We are at SAP NetWeaver 2004s with 700 release and at 0021 level. Our data base system is DB6 with the release 09.07.0000
I understand that there is a note 886102 available for the system copy. But I would like to know how that had been practically implemented from your ready documents like
1. What would be the BI consultant role during the refresh (I mean where do we involve at). I have seen many links related to this but nothing answer my question, so please don't give me links available.
2. How to identify tables that need to be copied and restored to retain the correct source systems for data/info sources.
3. What should be the BI consultant task before refresh?
4. What should be the BI consultant task post refresh?
5. What are issues faced post refresh in quality system.
I request, the consultant who had worked on these refresh can provide me correct solution.

Our prerefresh activities included
Inform security team to do no user or authorisation changes for quality during the refresh.
Set message in development to not release any transports anymore and set message in quality to inform users in quality not to manually import transports into quality and also not approve transports for production. This ensures no transports get moved to quality and production.
Switch off cyclic import all job (like TMS_0000000038TMS_TP_IMPORT) and the cyclic RSTMS_DIST_APPROVED_REQUESTS job
Prepare list of transports for re-import to quality after refresh and give this to BASIS.
Post refresh activities included
Tcodes SM37, SM35 and SP01. Check that BASIS had set all released jobs to status "Susp/Released"
"All jobs are in 'Susp/Released' state. Set them all to 'Scheduled ' as follows:
- Run report BTCTRNS2 to change all to 'Released'.
- Immediately use SM37 to change all to 'Scheduled' "
IF ANY ARE NEEDED. Remember to change Exec Target in any job you need to release.
"Schedule RSTMS_DIST_APPROVED_REQUESTS to run at x:29 and x:59 - so every 30 minutes.
Please schedule with DDIC as step user (and not your own user-id)."
Check the STMS_QA and import queues to be sure that the tranports are correct- no extra ones during refresh???
Once happy with the above request that Basis schedule the auto import to run every 30 minutes
First ensure that BDLS has finished and system is ready for use.
