Check date and check order

Dear Experts,
Fairly general question.
A check instruction can have av. check first and alloc check next and vice versa.. with no apparent difference in results of the confirmed quantity in either case. (unless we bring in rules and remaning requirement logic that I am not at the moment).
There is small and sensible requirement.
I want to confirm a sales requirement against remaining allocation at a different date vis-a-vis actual availability check date (mbdat) against ATP quantity. For simplicity assume there is no b/w and f/w consumption in allocation design.
SAP help says this is controllable such in standard. but I want to know what could be the possible side effects and any other possible interpretation of such a design...keeping in mind this is change on top of live system where pre-sales and sales documents consume allocations without a strong concept of scheduling (within the check framework). Could this have any bearing on the order of check steps i.e. if I want to check allocations at a date earlier than material availability date, should Allocation check be the first step. I need to set up a hell lot to verify all this. help.com has no such re-assuring statement that I could locate.Hence looking for first cut answers from your experiences.
Business context: I want to check remaining allocated quantity on "scheduled" goods issue date as opposed to material availability date which is scheduled backwards from customer requested date. The reason being the customer has been promised a certain shipping date based on a auction he won. This means that being able to meet shipping date is more important than being able to meet scheduled delivery date. This is true of not all sales scenarios but only some. Moreover we take allocations seriously because that is the very basis for production planning from the limited raw materials from nature

Loknath

Loknath,
I don't really understand most of what you have asked.  You have stated it all as theory and not given any concrete examples of how you would like the system to react under various scenarios.  However, I will answer as many questions as I can.
I need to set up a hell lot to verify all this
???? provided you already have a working SCM product check configured, and provided you do not have to create a custom characteristics, you can set up and test a single sequence combination alloc/product check ATP in less than a working day.  Once set up, you can switch the allocation/product check sequence in your check instructions in seconds.  The total amount of work will be the same, regardless of which sequence you end up using.  This is work you will have to do anyway to implement allocation.  If you check your planning area directly during development, you can vastly reduce the amount of time you spend on testing your theories.  In a day you will have created 90% of the final solution, and you will have tested multiple theories and scenarios.  The only wasted effort would be if you decided to abandon allocation altogether.
if I want to check allocations at a date earlier than material availability date
??? of the 3 dates available, MAD is the earliest.  What date do you intend to check that is earlier than MAD?
I want to check remaining allocated quantity on "scheduled" goods issue date as opposed to material availability date which is scheduled backwards from customer requested date.
???  Both dates (GID & MAD) are scheduled backward from delivery date.
There is nothing inherently right or wrong in using any of the 3 dates (MAD/GID/DelivDat).  When you are setting up your allocation quantities, you need to set them up in terms of the date within the sales order that you will be checking.  All the dates in your planning book will represent one of the three dates, as configured in your allocation group.
The most common reason to implement allocation is that order entry is expected to be far in excess of capacity. Under these conditions, when I set up allocation, I usually set up Allocation first, then product check.  I do this mostly to limit system load during backorder processing, since in most allocation situations, more orders will fail allocation check than will fail product check.  The product check on these orders never gets executed.

    Hello all,
I have lenovo T430s laptop that is configured with Bitlocker encruptions and TPM PIN entry. I don't think that has anything to do with the error msg I am getting but here it is. Error: 0271: Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings.
Press Esc to continue or F1 to enter setup. I am unable to get into BIOS or even the login screen for Windows 7.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for the help.  Just want to close this out.  I had a IBM/Lenovo technician here today and he replaced the CMOS battery.  Upon the change, the computer is fine being reconnected to the dock (the three times I tried it).  So it has been resolved with the battery.  Surprised by the incompatibility claim because I am not having issues now.  Wondering if it's just a USB 2.0 vs. 3.0 thing (and Lenovo trying to sell more peripherals, of course).
    Thanks!

    Hello everybody,
Can help anyone to resolve my problem.
I have an Thinkpad W520 (42823FG), BIOS 8BET60WW 1.4        When I disconect AC power and remove battery and connect again, I see this message on screen:
"Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings, System CMOS Checksum bad
Press Esc to continue or F1 to enter Setup"
Is this a system board problem or CMOS battery problem ?
    Thank you

    Hello and welcome,
It's probably (hopefully) just the CMOS battery.  The easiest way to find out is to just replace that battery.

  • Equium M40X - error message at start up; 0271: Check date and time settings

Hi when I start the laptop the message appears:
    ERROR
0271: Check date and time settings
    WARNING
0251: System CMOS checksum bad - Default configuration used
Press <F1> to resume, <F2> to Setup
I would assume this is because my CMOS battery has had it? Is this a know issue with this laptop and how do you get at it to replace it?

    Hi
It sounds as though your notebook has the wrong time in the CMOS (BIOS).
If you can get into the BIOS, check the date and time settings and make sure they are correct.
It may also be a case of the CMOS battery going out. When this happens your notebook will tend to not keep the correct time.
In such case you should connect the AC adaptor and should leave it connected for about 20-24 hours. At the end of this period the CMOS battery should be fully charged.
    Good luck and best regards

  • Delivery date and sales order creation date

    Dear all
Can you please explain the relation between delivery date and sales order date. In my case i can create delivery with delivery date as before the sales order date... how it is possible that i can create delivery before the sales order date.??
    Please explain.........
    Warm Regards
    Inder Pal

    Hi,
Sales order date: Date on which the customer officially places an order to your company.
All the commitment and product allocation counting starts with reference to this date.
e.g. customer says that the goods are required from 20 days of placing order, then from this date the calculation starts.
Delivery date: Date on which after the system goes through material availability date, replenishment time, calculates the date on which physically the goods can be delivered to the customer.
e.g. customer orders 100 qty of material X in 15 days, you will hve to check this delivery date through availability check which can be done in sales order and also delivery.
payment date is based on this delivery date.
    regards,
    Siddharth.

  • Advance check payment and check bounce

    Hello All,
Am working with a Pharma Client and the Scenario is Like ....
Advance check payment and check bounce - Normally in bussiness when the material is selling to the stockist Client will collect  the advance post dated checks from the stockists as per Client credit policy, if the stockist issued check got bounced the stockist will be in risk category and sales order should be blocked automatically by SAP system. When the next transaction is doing with the same customer system should not allow the check payment & it should allow only demand draft.
Please suggest me how I will map this in sap credit management
    Regards]
    Venkat

Currently, if any cheque is bounced, where it has been recorded in SAP ??  You have to consider that field and have to try with any of the following user exits which are related to credit management.
    a)  LVKMPFZ1: USER_CREDIT_CHECK1
    b)  LVKMPFZ2: USER_CREDIT_CHECK2
    c)  LVKMPFZ3: USER_CREDIT_CHECK3
If I am correct, only through some text maintained in FI, you can conclude whether a cheque is bounced or not.  So may be you can think of some date field which is currently considered for due for presentation.

  • How can I use my iPad to check-in and check-out books to my students in my classroom?

How can I use my iPad to check-in and check-out books to my students in my classroom?

Assuming there won't be any wi-fi netwokrs, will there be cellular reception there?
If so, you need to check if a carrier or the carrier if there is only one, offers a data only plan for the iPad and similar devices along with providing a mico-SIM card. If a carrier offers a data only plan with a full size SIM card, you can cut the SIM card down to mico-SIM size. There are devices that provide for this.
If there is cellular reception but a carrier or the carrier doesn't have a data plan only for the iPad and similar devices but offers a tethering plan for phones on their network, you can tether your iPad to the cell phone for internet access via the carrier's cellular network.

  • MDM Record Check out and Check in from the Portal

    Hi everybody,
I'm trying to figure out what is the standard way to trigger the Check out and Check in from the Portal.
How do I need to configure the MDM workflows and the Portal, so the standard Item Details iView would automatically check out the record when the Edit button is pressed.
Do I need to configure Guided Procedures or UWL on the Portal or can I avoid that?
Thanks for your help in advance,
    Boris

    Hi Boris,
When we connect MDM to a front end system like Portal, the portal will replicate all teh functionalities of the backend sytem from the front end as in this case in EP.
But when we maintain Master data form the MDM Data Manager we get a lot of options in the context menu ,when we right click a record in the record pane.
All of these cannot be made available on the portal, but however the feature of Checkout can be made possible if you try to update the record  through a MDM workflow.
As in MDM workflow you have to option of Checking ou the record at the beginning of the Uddate and then checking in back at the completion of the record update.
For this you can use the MDM workflows and integrate it through EP using UWL.
Kindly refer some additional docs which will guide you in the configuration of the same:
    Re: MDM workflow with UWL
Re: Need to Integrate Universal Worklist in SAP Master Data Management.
    Re: MDM Portal configurations.
    Hope It Helped

  • Possible to check IN and Check Out Reference Tables?

    Hi All,
I am wondering is it possible to check in and check out Look Up and other tables like we do for main table???
If so can any one letme know how?
    Thanks
    Rajeev

    Hi Rajeev,
Can you elaborate your business requirement of having Check out on reference table?
Checked out option is used for the below scenario in Main Table
Create - If the record is checked out, then it is virtually available in MDM until it is approved as the part of the workflow
Change - The record is kept checked out , so that the user who changes it owns it , and no others has access to change it to achieve the data consitency
But for reference data , the records is already available in the target system and it is fed to MDM

  • Req. delivery date and plan order finish date relationship

    Dear Experts,
I have a question on setting the req. delivery date and plan order finish date relationship. Now, I want the plan order finish date is one day before the req. delivery date, is it possible to set it in configuration? Please advised! Many thanks!
    Regards,
    Matt Yim

    Matt,
Please use a schedule margin key(SMK) in the material master MPR2 view which has float after production defined as 1day.
If there are no SMK with that defination then you can define you own in customisation and assign the same in the material master. (SPRO--->Production ->MRP->Planning ->Scheduling and Capacity Parameters->Define Floats).

  • How to fetch post goods issue date and sales order creation date

    Hi All,
How to find out the difference between SD Sales Order Item Creation Date and final Post goods issue Date. I would like to know how to fetch those dates and what is the relationship between the tables from which i will get the dates.
Please let me know the solution .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Sales order creation date is when u raise a sales order in favor of the customer using VA01.......using ATP logic system purposes the material availability date....
after saving ur sales order...when u raise the Delivery using VL01n  w.r.t to OR...than u have to perform picking ....In the picking Tab...specify the amount to be picked than press Post Good Issue....means the goods left the company premises ..
You can the fetch the values using tables-  Use T code   SE12  or SE16
    Vbak-----order header

  • Deactivate check-out and check-in request

The SAP-delivered process for maintaining a solution via a maintenance project is the following:
    1. In the Solution Directory, select process structure element (business or interface scenario, business process, or process step).
    2. Click "Request" button to request check out.
    3. Click "Check out" button to approve request and check out process structure element to the Maintenance Project associated with the solution.
    4. Complete the updates in the Maintenance Project associated with the solution.
    5. From the Maintenance Project, request check-in to the solution.
    6. In the Solution Directory, click "Check in" to check the updated process structure element back into the Solution Directory
We require neither the check-out request nor the check-in request steps for our solution. Is there a way to deactivate these?
Thanks in advance for your input,
    Lori

I'm sure whether this is what you mean, but if you open you Solution by means of TC:SOLMAN_DIRECTORY and press once on the solution of your choice, you will see an overview of the properties of your solution.
If you then pick the middle tab on the right, you can set/unset the option for:
"Enable Check-out/Check-in of Solution Structure Elements".
    That's it.

  • User-Exit for Checking Customer and Sale order type in Sales Order Creation

    Hi Experts,
While creating the Sales Order once i enter sold-to-party and enter line item, i have to check the customer against the sales order type.
Please suggest me if any user-exit or enhancement or BADI available for it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    -VM

    Hi
Follow the below steps to find out what all BADI's are called when you press any button in any transaction.
    1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
    2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
    3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
    Now
    4) Execute SAP standard transaction
    5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
    6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
    7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any transaction.
