  • Printing on Pre-printed stationary from XML Publisher

    Hi,
I have a requirement where a report is to be printed on pre-printed stationary from XML Publisher. The stationary would be NCR paper and has to be printed from a dot matrix printer.
My first question is whether report generated from XMLP can be printed thro'
dot matrix printer, coz as far as i know it takes only character format .If yes, do we need any special handling?
If anybody has any experience related to this problem, please let me know the approach.
Can mail me at [email protected]

    Hi Milind
    I see what you've got.
It is not uncommon to use character mode output for pre-printed stationery.
This would appear as draft output from a Dot Matrix printer. I hope you understand what I mean here. It is somthing like printing using fixed width font.
Design and run the report with MODE=CHARACTER from the command line.
You need to figure out and design the layout in such a way that you are printing in the empty spaces provided in the pre-printed stationery. This is usually by trial and error method. You may probably blow several pre-printed stationery sheets before you get it right.

  • Reports6i:Developing reports of different size(Pre-Printed Stationary)

I am using Reports 6i. I want to generate reports of page size 3.5" (height), 11.5"(width). I modified the layout sections width and height properties.
I am printing reports on continuous Pre-printed stationary with dot matrix printer.
After printing first record, the continuous stationary is skipping 3 records space(It is taking printer portrait height 11" and width 8.5" setting) and after that the next record is printing.
What are the settings to be modify to avoide the skipping of 3 records space in the stationary.
    Looking for your help/suggestions

    Hi Krishna!
I suppose that you have modified properties of the "Main Section" of the "Layout Model" in Object Navigator.
    Several things can be checked:
    1. In the layout editor click "Edit Margin" button and make sure that the outer black frame (your actual page to be prited) is of the size you want.
    2. If you have a repeating frame check that "Maximum records per page", "Vert.space between frames", "Page break after", and some others are set properly.
    3. Another approach is to generate your report into pdf file and print it using OS means.

  • Printing from APEX onto pre printed forms - not PDF

    Hi
What is the best solution within APEX for printing. I am looking to print out data within an interactive report record onto a piece of pre printed stationary. So fields from the database will need to be positioned on certain positions on the print out
How can this be achieved? I have seen examples generating a PDF but I do not want a PDF to be generated or stored when the page has been printed.

Or Oracle Reports as a cheaper option, if your infrastructure is suitable.
Done that for pre-printed forms before - pixel perfect, just not for APEX. But it's easy to call Oracle Reports from APEX.

  • Unable to Align the fields according to the Pre-Printed Cheque format

    Hi,
I am having a requirement where I need to align the report output according to the Pr-printed Chekc Format which is loaded in the printer.
In detail we have a pre-printed format of the cheque which will be loaded into the printer which includes the logo and the amount fields with the symbol of currency, date etc.
I need to print the output which is runned by formating the payment batch.I am getting the output printed but not in the exact palces where I need.I tried to modify the report fields by increasing the length and width of the main section but of no use.Can any one help me out at the earliest.
I am getting the output either out of the symbol of currency and even the date as well.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    With Regards,
    Sunil.

Can you explain briefly the below point which you have mentioned.
"Also set the increase the size of fields upon the size of pre-printed area and set the horizontal Elasticity to FIXED. Then align and print."I meant that increase the size of fields according to the size of pre-printed document and set the horizontal elasticity to FIXED so it will not go out from the desired space.
Well, this is what i said you will have to set the alignment and will have to check by printing again. There is no specified format of pre-printed document type reports.

    Hye,
This type of problem I faced in Cheque printing on Preprinted , even placing page break it is not working in APPS, bcs when we run the report in APPS it uses it's printer layout setup from UNIX commands one, secondly you set your one page with maximum size and after that place any character co finish the page completely.
    Thanks

  • Print layout in case of pre printed continous stationery

    Dear Experts,
I have one query related to print layout designing. The issue is the PLD is set for an Invoice in the pre printed stationery & the printer out is take using continuous stationery the problem which i have faced is 1 page is printed properly but for 2nd page the print again starts from top so again the user have to do manual setting & print the 2nd page.
    Thanks & Regards-
    Manmath Das.

    Dear Manmath Das,
It is too difficult to handle the print on pre printed continuous stationery by PLD. PLD is a very basic tool. You may only get it work by endless try and error to see.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • How do I create a form field ONLY template in Acrobat 9 Pro that will let the user enter and print only the form field data on a pre-printed form?

This template will be used to type in information that will then be printed on an agency's official, barcoded form loaded in a printer (instead of blank paper.)  Only the user-entered info should print on the pre-printed form.  Users will use Adobe Reader to complete their templates; they do not have Acrobat.  Thank you!

Use the template as non-printable background and add the form fields.

  • Payment method supplement - to be use to group cheques when printing

    Hi Guru,
I need to set up procedure so that when printing cheques,  certain cheques will be printed together.
To explain more clearly,  e.g. I have 1000 vendors that will be paid in the same payment run. These 1000 vendors are served by 5 account managers.  I want to print the cheques so that the cheques to vendors that are served by respective account managers will be grouped together when they are printed i.e. say the first 200 cheques will be printed for account manager 1 the next 300 cheques for account manager 2.
I turned on payment method supplement in the company code.  I created payment method supplements for each account manager.  Since I am using one tme vendor for this process,  I put in the respective payment method supplement when I enter the invoice.  However,  when the cheques are printed,  they are not printed in groups according to the payment method supplement.
If I can this work how would the accounts payable person tell which group do the cheques belong??
    Thanks

    Hi Srikanth,
Thanks for the information.  I have done that but maybe my understanding of the function is not correct.
If for example,  I have 5 different payment method supplement,  I thought by putting in all payment method supplement in the same variant of the print program RFFOUS_C,  I can print ALL the cheques in the payment run and SAP will print the cheques with sorting according to the payment method supplement.  So in the end all payment method supplement 1 e.g. will be printed first followed by payment method supplement 2, so on so forth.  But it looks like that if I put all the payment method supplement in the same variant,  SAP just print ALL the cheques with no particular order.
Would you have any suggestion as how I can get SAP to print cheques in the order of groups by payment method supplement?
    Thanks
    Linda

  • Printing a PDF file over pre-printed template

I would like to be able to print a PDF file (file A) over the top of another PDF file (file B ). For example, file A could be a letter that needs to be sent out and file B could be the company letterhead. The resulting file would be the letter on company letterhead.
I need to be able to do this because I am printing from an application that allows limited customization of the output format. Having the ability to print one file over another would enable me to create a "pre-printed template" in an application that has more flexibility. I could then add the data from the first application over the top of the "pre-printed template."
I am using Acrobat Professional 7.0.9 on a Windows XP Professional system. If necessary I can upgrade to a more recent version of Acrobat.
    Thanks for your help

I would like to do this all electronically. I don't produce a hard copy at any time but rather create the PDF and then email the file to the recipient.

  • Restricting no.of rows in a pre-printed layout without disturbing th layout

    Hi,
We have a requirement in a pre-printed format template. It has sections like 'header/detail/footer' section.
Let say in detail section to show item details, In pre-printed layout only 13records can be shown at a time. Let say I have 50+ items want to display in detail section without distrubing the pre-printed layout.
Gone through so many forum-posting and didn't find any correct answer.
    Tried some of the tips like : <?if:position() mod 13 =0?> <xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute> <?end if?> doesn't work it distrubs the layout.
I see some of the vetri replies so sending template/xml to vetri's e-mail id as well. Thanks in advance for helping on this.
    Thanks
    Velu

    Some approaches:
    a) put everythign besides the table in header/footer...
    b) Repeat the whole page - or repeating part using a group:
    <?for-each-group:floor(position() div 13)?>
    Print table header etc...
    In table iterate over
    <?for-each:current-group()?>
    table row
    <?end for-each-group?>
    table footer etc..
    <?end for-each-group?>
    hope either helps,
    Klaus

  • Pre Printed Invoice

    Hello,
We are currently in the analysis phase to the implementation of SAP ECC 6.0 Ehp3 for a society in Ecuador, and I know that this situation happens in Venezuela too. The laws require that the invoices and delivery notes must be pre-printed by a printer approved by the Internal Revenue Service, giving them the document number for each one.
How can we do, with the invoice number, when the items have sold cover more than one sheet?
Can we use the following pre-numbered invoice to continue printing?
What is the reference number of the invoice, the first number or the second one?
    Thanks in advance,
    Johnattan Company
    SAP SD Consultant

    Hi
I understand all paper sheets are provided by an Authority andonly these can be used with the approved printers.
I am confused about one thing:
    - I can imagine how much every single company is wasting of paper, what about these sheets that are wasted because of paper jams in the printer for example? Do you report on these?
As for the problem printing, every 15 items coming on 1 sheet, in my opinion you don't have to make 4 sales orders, neither you need to split the order into smaller deliveries 15 items max. What I suggest is just redesign the output proces of the delivery ( same for billing ) is that you
    1. number your pages as 1 of 4, 2 of 4, ...
    2. repeat the header details of your document on each sheet like: Date, document number, customer, ...
    3. the items number will continue as normal on each sheet
I think (my opinion) this way, whatever the paper sheet number is, it always links back to the document stored in SAP.
    regards
    Sidi

  • Printing on a pre printed stationery

    Hi,
I am trying to print data on a pre printed stationery. On one physical page two copies (1+1) of report is printed horizontally side by side. On each logical page there is repeating frame that displays 4 rows of data across the page. Now as soon as the number of records become > 4, the 5 th record instead of moving to next physical page, overlaps and sets on the logical page on the same physical. what could be done such that the 5 th record and onwards prints on the next physical page alongwith the copy of the 5 th record also displayed on the next logical page.
    thanks
    Prashant Mishra

Not sure if I fully understand your description, you might like to give an example of what data you have and what you want on each page.
However, for pre-printed forms, you typically use a fixed size frame to define the area that a repeating frame can print into. Alternatively you can use the "max records per page" property if you can guarantee that each record will only take up a specific amount of sapce.
Where physical vs. logical pages are concerned. You can only have multiple physical pages making up a single logical page. In your case, you seem to want to have multiple logical pages for each physical page. Since Reports will insert page breaks after each logical page, it will be difficult to do this.
If you need to get two sets of records onto a single physical page use an "across->down" repeating frame for a single repeating frame that encompasses one half of your physical (and logical) page.
