Cisco Secuirty agent version 5.2

I installed the cisco security agent version 5.2 on my windows xp machine, i am not in a server enviroment only at home. i go to control panel and try to remove it does nothing and then i try from the program files and try there nothing how do i get this off my system

I started it and right click and yes i can turn it off and i can also just disabled the service under services? but that is not what i wnat to do i want to remove it off my system. i was simply curious about what this was and i really dont understand what it does, i know its for a client server architecture but what else is it for.

  • Cisco NAC Agent 4.9.1.682 Problems with Mac Os X 10.7.4

    My Cisco NAC Agent  (version 4.9.1.682) doesn't work since I upgraded my Mac OS X  4 months ago, This happens every time with CISCO and MAC when there is a new update and it always seems to take forever to fix.
    The NAC agent just keeps asking for my login in details even though there are correct (I can log in with a PC no problem).
    Any update on when a new version is going to be released - Its getting really frustrating?

    I figured out a solution that works you must disable Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) on the affected system. To do this :
        Open Keychain Access. Keychain Access can be found by selecting Go in the Finder and choosing the Utilities option. Keychain access should be listed in the folder that appears. Double-click the Keychain Access icon to open it.
        Select Keychain Access -> Preferences from the menu at the top of the screen
        Choose the Certificates tab
        Change the OCSP option from Best Effort to Off
        Close the Preferences dialog and quit Keychain Access
        You should be able to NAC now

  • Cisco NAC agent services not running on Windows XP

    Hi,
    I've problem with Cisco NAC agent services on Windows XP professional SP3.
    After first installation using user local administrator, the services of Cisco NAC agent on windows machine running well, but after logout, and login using another user which is registered in domain users, the services of Cisco NAC agent is going to stopped (going to Manual mode not automatic, and the status is stopped).
    This situation is not happened on all windows machines, several machines running well.
    Cisco NAC agent version 4.9.0.42
    Has anyone seen this type of problem?

    Hi thanks for your answers, dbconsole is started in services.msc and also Agent, but goes on to say that the agent is not running.
    In sysman log shows this,

  • Remote desktop connection blocked by cisco security agent

    Hi,
    I have a deployment of a Management Center for Cisco Security Agents 6.0.2 and i just noticed that the agent is blocking the remote desktop connection to the hosts, the agent installed on the server shows me the event but i'm not able to see it logged on the Management Center (i can see logged any other events), i'm not sure what rule should i enable in order to allow this connection.
    Do you have any ideas???

    Remote desktop connection uses the highest possible security level encryption method between the source and destination.
    In Windows Vista or later versions of Windows, the remote desktop connection uses the SSL (TLS 1.0) Protocol and the encryption is Certificate-based.
    TS Gateway can also make the connection more secure, enhance security, see detailed information in this link

    Don't forget some known offical antii-virus software, they can also protect the connetion from network attack.

    We currently utilize Cisco ACS Server and Trend Micro OfficeScan and would like to deploy Cisco Trust Agent 2.0 on a few laptops.  Has anyone been involved with such a deployment?  If so, any suggestions, documentation, suggestions?

    CTR uses the admin shares to connect to a windows server.
    Depending on how you configured it: It will try a nmap fingerprint scan, use static OS mappings or perform a level 2 scan by using the admin shares.
    If you are using it through firewalls, the fingerprinting does not work properly.
    You will also notice that since version 2.0.3 there hasn't been any new agents developed for it. Also 2.0.5 started to upgrade all port scans etc whereas before it didn't.
    I would look to speaking to your cisco account team about the next version of Cisco IPS instead.

    Cisco Clean Access Lite Manager   Version 4.9.0
    I can see Your point now,  that I should start from upgrading to 4.9.1.

    We have cisco NAC version 4.9.1 and the agent version is 4.9.1.5. We want to know if there is a way to hide the cisco NAC agent window so the user do not see it, i mean run it on the background to make it a bit more transparent to the final user.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Go to "Administration > User Pages" and make sure you have configured a proper login page for Windows 7.

  • Cisco NAC Agent and Windows 8 still not working

    Hello. I recently upgraded the Cisco NAC Agent to the latest version (4.9.1.13) on a Windows 8 VM. The release notes state that Windows 8 support has been added, and that a patch must be downloaded. However, the information about the patch is vague. I'm not sure if it's a client or server-side patch, or perhaps if I already have it as a result of upgrading to the latest version.
    I ask this because I plan to upgrade some computers to Windows 8, and have noticed that Cisco NAC Agent can't handshake with the NAC server on Windows 8 (both native and VM), and despite upgrading to the latest version, the handshake is still unsuccessful.

    I have Cisco Contact center express version 7 SR 5 running on server with operating server Windows 2003.1.5. Please let me know which version of Cisco security agent is compatible with above mentioned CCX version & OS version.
    I refered to the CCX comaptibilty guide but but I did not get information regarding operating system comaptibility with CSA. Kindly provide the same.
    Also I tried version 5.0.0.235 of CSA it gave error "CIsco works common service is not installed" & insatllation aborted. I do not have CWLMS in network do i need to install some cisco works common services?

    Hi Atul,
    These are the compatible version of CSA with 7.01Sr5. Recommended one is the highest and latest in the list 5.2.0.296-3.1(9)k9. You can install this in the server regardless of the version OS if you have UCCX 7.01 Sr5.

    In 4.6, the agent was overhauled and is now called the NAC agent.  Previous versions were referred to as the Clean Access Agent.  So pretty much, the 4.5 agent and 4.1.3.2 agents are Clean Access agents, and the 4.6.x and 4.7.x agents are called NAC agents.
    Some of the changes made were moving a lot of the agent configuration to an XML file, redesigning the GUI, adding a service portion (so that the stub agent is no longer required), and better agent logging.

    CME is part of the IOS, so you can't upgrade the IOS seperately from CME.
    That said, if this is a production environment you should proceed with caution and be prepared to roll back as you may find bugs, etc.
    You should also look at release notes and make sure your phone firmware will still work or needs to be upgraded too.

  • Setting privileges in Cisco Secure ACS Version 5.1.0.44

    I am setting privileges in Cisco Secure ACS Version 5.1.0.44.
    In the command sets from the ACS server, I denied few commands as can be seen in the attached screenshot and selected 'Permit any command that is not in the table below'.
    I am unable to see some commands like "Show running-configuration" from the router I was testing. What changes should I do to see all the commands other than the denied commands. Your help will be rated. Thank you.

    The ACS is able to handle permit or deny commands.
    I created a configuration example that will help you to understand command shell.(see attach doc)
    Instead of using show running-config please use show config.
    also make sure that all the users are using privilege 15.

  • Agent version 10.1.0.6.0 DB Control version 10.2.0.4 - Is this ok?

    dbconsole is failing to startup. We have already tried rebuilding the repository and still it won't start.
    The agent does come up. One thing to point out is that the agent version that is reported by emctl status agent is 10.1.0.6.0
    with a protocol version of 10.1.0.2.0
    while dbcontrol(and the database are on version 10.2.0.4). Can the 10.1.0.6 agent work with 10.2.0.4? This setup
    did work before but I think the repository rebuild may have caused some problems. The db was installed as 10.1.0.6
    and then upgraded to 10.2.0.4 so the original repository build was likely on a consistent version.

    I see lots of connection refused messages in the emagent.trc file
    Messages are of the form:
    WARN snmehl_connect: connect failed to....
    ERROR pingManager: nmepm_pingReposURL: Cannot connect to...
    This isn't to surprising since dbconsole is not running.

  • Agent Versions Incorrect?

    Good Afternoon,
    I have recently been given control of our SCOM infrastructure as the person before me has left and I've been given the reigns. We are currently running SCOM 2012 Service Pack 1 and have Cumulative Update 8 installed which is the latest CU available from
    Microsoft.
    I have been doing a bit of housekeeping today and noticed that the agent version that is installed on all of our clients is version 7.0.9538.0 which is the version that came pre-installed with 2012 SP1 when it was first released.
    The only server that does seem be on the latest build number is the Management Server which CU8 was installed on to manually. The build number is now 7.0.9538.1123.
    I know for a fact that our previous owner of SCOM installed every CU that has been released and I also remember that he went through the process of updating the clients on all our servers (almost 400).
    I have gone through the process of uninstalling some of the agents and reinstalling but I am unable to update it. We do also have a few servers that are running version 6.1.7221.49. This version is from May 2009 and was part of the SCOM 2007.
    I've noticed that if I log on to one of the servers that an agent is installed on after we ran the update for CU8 I can see that the file versions of the dll files do have the correct build number for CU8 (7.0.9538.1123)
    So from what I see it looks as though this is potentially a bug with SCOM. I'm not sure. How can I update the agent versions within the SCOM console to reflect the correct agent version.
    As you can see in the screenshot1 above the version for the servers with an agent here are still on 7.0.9538.
    In screenshot2 this is from one of the servers with an agent installed in the path of 'C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager\Agent'. As you can see the latest version is there but you can also see older versions too.
    Finally if I log on to the SCOM management server and open operations manager shell and run the command get-scomagent it gives me the same incorrect version. 
    I hope someone can help me with this.

    Yes, it´s normal and as expected. The version number 7.0.9538 reflects System Center 2012 SP1 Operations
    Manager and doesn´t change when applying a Update Rollup. If you were to upgrade to R2 then the version would be 7.1.10226.0 instead. 
    If there were older agents from a SCOM 2007 etc, the version number would match the SCOM version.

    We have posture assessment working with cisco Nac agent. Checking only symantec Antivirus def update and installation. Since there is windows defender in all the user pcs and turned off not in use. But cisco Nac agent is showing both windows defender and symantec in List of Antivirus & Anti-Spyware Products Detected by the Agent field. We dont want windows defender to show in this list.
    Anyone encountered this list before?? Please suggest.. I want to get rid of windows defender from this list in nac agent.

    Currently Windows Defender AnitSpyware comes installed on all Windows 7 machines.  Many users disable this and install their own AntiSpyware product.  Currently when using the ANY AntiSpyware up to date rule, it will fail if say MSE is up to date but not Windows Defender (since it is disabled).
    This is an enhancement request to add the ability to pass the ANY check if 1 AntiSpyware or AntiVirus definition is up to date but another is installed and out of date.  Currently if a customer wants to accomplish this they need to create a rule for every AntiVirus or AntiSpyware product and use the "Any Selected Rule Succeeds" option which is very cumbersome to configure.
