Cisco Video Surveillance 3520 software recording capabilities

Hi,
i want to buy a single Cisco Video Surveillance 3520 camera, i know that there is a free software which come with this camera, but i am not sure if that software has recording capabilities, please can anyone verify if it has, or i have to buy some additional software ?!!

Yassar,
Per Cisco's white sheet on this model:
Local storage. Video data can automatically be recorded to a microSD card when the camera loses network connectivity.
But to stream parent proxies to a seperate storage device you need a media server to capture the RTP packets after HTTPS and RSTP has set up the connection.

Please tell me how to install the software on openSuse?
I downloaded and installed all with of the archive:
Cisco Video Surveillance Manager 7.5.0 upgrade software for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP1 (i586)
    Cisco_VSM-7.5.0-31i-sles10.zip
But the program still does not start, I think there is not enough what that file.
Which files are missing and where they I can take?
Unfortunately the installation instructions exactly for version 7.5, I have not found.
Version 6.3 got up and installed without difficulty.

    Hi,
the file you are using is upgrade file, you need to use the .OVA file to deploy new VSM 7.x on your UCS blade.
below link will lead you to the OVA download for 7.X, please download the file depending on the UCS blade you are using. C series or B series.

  • Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location

    Hello
What is the best way to use the  Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location.
I am talking about the AVMS / SWVMS software.
I am thinking of either a vpn tunnel or Remote Desktop (Terminal Services).
I would like to use the vpn tunnel, but am afraid that the encryption/decryption of all data will drastically slow down the data throughput.
    THanks,
    Cliff

    Hi Clifford,
Thank you for posting. I use the AVMS software remotely and it works good. At first I changed the http ports of each camera and forwarded those ports in the router. I set up the cameras in the remote AVMS software with the WAN IP address and port number. That worked quite well. I then decided to try to reach the cameras through a VPN tunnel. I found that it worked perfectly and I was able to view up to 6 cameras. Your results will vary depending on how much bandwidth you have at each end. The important thing is the upload speed at the camera end of the tunnel. I have anywhere from 3-4 Mbps at any given time for the upload speed at the camera side and 30-40 Mbps download speed at the AVMS server side. I have also used UltraVNC to view the AVMS server through the tunnel and that worked well. Note that if you view the AVMS software using RDP you will see a black screen where the video should be. This is a limitation of RDP, not the software.
Please reply if you have any questions.

  • Cisco video surveillance operations manager error

    Hi!
Does anyone know What does mean "HttpHandler. 11391: critical coredump" error in cisco video surveillance operations manager?

Okay, well... right away; there is a very serious issue concerning the fact that mysql no longer appears installed on the server:
    01-vssoftware.txt
    Video Surveillance Operations Manager
MYSQL:              !! MySQL is not installed and is required
Which would indicate the root of your issues.  It appears something may have actually removed the package.
I also noticed from the roothistory that you've installed some other third party tools and executed what I assume are some scripts that appear to remove things?  Perhaps check there?
My recommendation is to pull a valid backup and perform a recovery with the Cisco Recovery DVD.  If this is not an option, you'll likely need to open a TAC case to determine how mysql has been broken, and how to correct it.
    Best of luck,
    Scott.

  • Cisco Video Surveillance Manager 6.3.1

I would like to know which Axis IP Camera models ( fixed & PTZ ) can be supported by Cisco VSM 6.3.1
and where to find complete list of supported 3rd party IP cameras.
    Tnx

I can no longer seem to find an online copy of the original Support Devices for VSM 6.3.1 PDF, but I do have a local copy.
The closest I can find online (and likely nearly identical) is for 6.3.2MR2 at:
    https://www.ciscoet.com/resource/vsm-632-mr2-supported-devices-list
I'll attempt to attach the 6.3.1 PDF to this response, but I'm not sure if it's allowed.
    Cheers!

  • Single server solution for video surveillance

Do we have a single server solution for Cisco video surveillance? Something similar to the Business Edition 6000 series in unified communications.
    If yes, please provide information.
    Thanks in advance

Cisco VSM can be used as single server solution depending upon your requirement. you could install Management server (which manages recordings) and VSOM (Operation Manager which manages you user profile and user interface) on a single server.
please refer to below doc for more info.

  • Captivate 6 Hangs while recording video demo and software simulation

I am running captivate 6 on windows 7 SP1 64 bit operating system. Captivate 6 hangs whenever I tried to record video demo or software simulation. I am running captivate 6 as an administrator.

    Hi Peekay,
Thank you for contacting Adobe Support.
Please use the following steps and let us know if it solves the issue:
    1) Try recreate preferences for Adobe Captivate (For this close captivate and navigate to the location C:\Users\your account name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Captivate and rename the captivate folder)
    2) Try creating a new Admin user account on your system and then try the simulation.

  • RAM recommendation for video surveillance/Security Spy software

I'm putting together a video surveillance system for my business. The system will utilize Security Spy software (http://www.securityspy.com/) with 7 or 8 video cameras connected to a G5 dual core 2.3 desktop. The computer will be used exclusively for running the Security Spy software and the cameras will be connected via one or two LFG4-MM PCI cards from Active Silicon (when they get the PCI-Express version of the card for the new G5 produced). Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendation as to how much RAM I should install on the G5 desktop. I know more RAM is always better . . . but also expensive. I do not want to purchase extra RAM if the tasks my computer will be performing will be limited by the CPU, disk, or PCI card(s). I'm thinking 2.5 or 4.5 gigs will be ok? I'm looking for some cost-benefit analysis with regard to the amount of RAM. Thanks for your response and insight.

The more RAM the better but 2.5 gigabytes should be fine if that's all the G5 is going to be doing. You're probably better off investing in a few 750 GB hard drives to store the video.

  • Software record voice and video

    Dear All,
Do you know software record voice and video after record we can copy to Laptop...... Does everyone know this program??
    Best Regards,
    Rechard

griffin's italk records voice. and after you record, you can transfer it wirelessly to a computer on the same network. you need to download a small program from griffin tho. it works really well, i'm very pleased with it. and best of all, its free. look for it in the app store.

  • Video Surveillance Manager Deployment

Hi Team I am installing video Surveillance Manager 7.5 on UCS Express platform. On deployment guide there is option to launch the the Yet another software tool (YasT) partitioner utility to add partition for media server.
Kindly advise how to launch this utility OR any other way to add partition storage for my media server.
    BR

Well,  I usually use Putty as an SSH terminal of choice to get a shell on the server in question; (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html).  However, many others exist, SecureCRT, etc..
I don't have an OVA accessible to me currently, so I can't say for sure, but you could check to see if the setup_media_storage script is already there.
    Log into the VSM Server in question with Putty (using the localadmin account), then 'su to root' with;
    sudo su -
This should get you a root shell and you can use 'ls /root/bin' to see if the setup script is there.  If it is, you could try to run it with /root/bin/setup_media_storage
If this is your first time VSM installation, you should *really* have the guidance of a Cisco ATP partner specialized in Physical Security.  I'd recommend you reach out to your Cisco account rep to give you a hand with it.
    Cheers

    Hi All,
I have a client that wants to install an IP Video Surveillance System on a small one-floor building....
The idea is to constantly monitor all the activities in that floor...
I am looking for a Linksys solution with IP Cameras Linksys and the Video Monitoring System (that can monitor up to 16 cameras). In fact we need only 12.
This is going to be my first deployment of IP Video Surveillance and I'll appreciate any comments, suggestions that you have that might point me in the right direction...
    Thank you All!
    Federico.

This document presents a high-level overview of an IP Video Surveillance deployment to give the reader a quick reference as to the capabilities of this solution. The associated design guide will then go into detail on planning, design, product selection, and implementation of an IP Video Surveillance deployment.

    Hi
As long as this is new instalation I recommend you to use SIP on all of the end points where possible and integrate with CUCM using sip trunk this will give you two main benefits
    - the transformation of the called and calling number from and to CUCM will be easier
-if have end point using H323 and communicating with other end using sip the vcs will do internetworking to this call and you will need license for each internetworked call plus the media path will go through the vcs not direct between end points for internetworking
If you use sip make the end point name/sip usri as [email protected]  Calls from vcs to CUCM use search rules with trsformation so if end point dial 123456 only from vcs and the default call is sip vcs will send it to CUCM as 123456@sip domain.com you need to do transformation before sending it to CUCM and send it as 123456@cucmip.
This is just in brief and also using the expersss way you can have your sip domain registered over the Internet and configure dns srv record point sip ton the vcs public ip and Internet calls can come to your end point sip name directly no need to publish ip to others to dial you
