Hi
I have some problems here, I am using transaction CK11N ( Create material cost estimate with quantity structure)
EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE, and when i hit save it flases showing " The cost estimate is being saved"
when i than run transaction CK24  I.E PRICE UPDATE, ITS SAYING THAT " of 0 materials , 0 cost estimate were updated succesfully"

  • Difference between sale order costing doing in SO & Doing in CK11N and CK24

Is there any difference between , costing carried out in Sale Order level by cliking on line item and then thru caluculater Icon in Sale Order    &    running CK11N > CK24.
    PLS HELP ME OUT

Plan Cost means this is the cost of Product or Material or Activity or any others statistical price which we estimate and Plan prices for organizations future activities.
Actual cost is the original/Actual cost we incurred for Product or Material or Activity or any other.
Target cost are the costs that are expected for a certain operating rate.  It is the dynamic value which will be calculated on the basis Operating rate (Operating rate = (Actual activity / Plan activity) X 100), and It is a consistent basis useful for comparisons of the plan and actual costs of a period.
    Ex:
we plan $110 per hour of Labor activity.
but we incurred $125 as actual cost.
for this Target cost is (125/110)*100=113
We use Costing variant for plan to calculate plan price of Order.
when order is created system posts planned costs to the order according to standard cost estimate of product, which uses the planned cost variant.
when the production is carried out Actual costs are posted to the order using Costing variant for actual.  when order is completed system uses this two values to calculate the variance of production order. which can be settled to FI.

  • Amount difference between ck11n and ck24

    Hi,
I am running CK11N for a material and the price is Rs.15000.But when i do mark and release in CK24 the value is only Rs.100.After releasing the cost estimate ,system  updates the price for current period and year in costing 2.When i click the std price tab in costing 2 it shows the price of Rs.15000(i mean ck11n price) why it is happening?

    Hi,
Check (txn. OKTZ) if all cost components are relevant for inventory valuation. Usually both fixed and variable cost of a cost component should be relevant.

  • What is CK11 and CK24? And what role do they play in A/c Detrn. ?

    Hi,
What is CK11 and CK24? And what role do they play in A/c Detrn. ?
    Regrds,
    Binayak

    Hi,
CK11n is to run a cost estimate.
    Suppose,
If material price (ROH) is Rs.10,
There are two activities, setup & processing in the machine.
    Setup = Rs.5
    Processing = Rs.10.
The system will add all these values & then give a estimate as Rs.25. Suppose there are other costs involved , system will include this.
where as CK24, is to mark & release after a costing estimate.
(ie) this is used by FI to update the price in the material master for future use.
These transactions are normally used if costing is done through product cost collector. Eg. In Repetitive manufacturing Scenario.
    Hope this helps,
    Reward if useful.

  • Ck11n and ck40n

    hi,
1 may i know are both also meant for costing run?
2 what is the difference between them?
    thanks

    Hello :
    The difference is
CK11n is cost estimatation for 1 by 1 material.
CK40n is cost estimation for many material in one costing run.
when using CK40n u can do selection parameter to select more than one material in this cost estimataion run.
CK40n also do the same logic as CK11n but for mass cost estimation.
    Hope this help.

  • CK11N

    Hi Guru,
My understanding is that, we need to execute cost estimate of a material upon creation of material master& then release it through ck24.
May I know what for we are doing this? what will happen if we fail to perform these transactions?
Secondly, If I execute the same transaction ck11n, for a material which is being used for months, it us giving some values ( such as total cost, total value, fixed cost, fixed values, variable .. etc) what does these fiels indicate at this given point of time ?
    best regards,
    K.kumar.

    Hi,
Any Material produced inhouse should have a Std cost estimate to know the Cost of Goods Mfg. This is a required by the Business to Anlayse the Variance between the Planned Cost  Vs  Actual Production Cost.
Pre -requisities for Std Cost Estimate :
    - Valid Material Master should be existing with Costing Lot size mentioned in Costing View
    - Valid BOM should be exisiting for the Finished Part.
    - Valid Routing should be existing for the FERT Part.
    - Moving Avg Price / Std Price for the Raw materials should be existing.
You can run the Std cost estimate for  a material with Quantity Structure using the Tcode ; CK11N , Once you execute this transaction system will explode the BOM and Routing and calculate the Planned Cost for Materials / Activities / Overheads etc. and show the cost estimate. Which you can view in Tcode ; CK13. If the cost estimate is with the status "KA" then it is ready for the release.
The same can be released in Tcode : CK24 where you mark and release. Once it is released you see the status as : "FR" in CK13N and the Price could be seen in MM03.
If you don't want to run individual materials in two seperate transaction (like std estimate run and release) then you can use the Tcode : CK40N for multiple materials and both the transactions (CK11N and CK24) in single tcode.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Mixed costing and Target Costs

    Hi
    I have the following problem.
We are using within Product Costing the Mixed Costing functionality.
One semi-finished product is produced in 2 plants, standard price calculated according to a certain mix.
Everything fine in product costing so far.
When creating a PP order however, the target costs details are not taken over but only as a full amount under semi-finished consumables. Planned costs are taken over in detail.
After completion of the PP order, actual costs are made on materials, labour, etc, where the target costs are fully seen as semi-finished consumables. Therefor the variance analysis between actuals and target costs shows many differences within the Resource Usage Variance, which is not meant.
    Can anyone help ?
    Kind Regards,
    JeVe

    Thanks for your posting Rau,
Yes we did CK11N and CK24.
I think the problem is with the mixed costing.
In the calculation we have two lines per procurement alternative (one per production version), target cost on semi-finished materials cost element. Below that, there is a standard calaculation available, but only the higher level is taken into account when a PP order is created.
Maybe somewhere in the cost estimation is the problem.
In my situation I would like the PP order be targeted at the weighed average cost of the 2 production versions, but on the detailed level. But SAP just shows me the target of the 2 semi-finished products only.
    The standard calculation look like
    Product A  1000 euro
    - 50% product line 1 550 euro
    ---cost beakdown:
    materials 100 euro
    labour 300 euro
    etc. 150 euro
    - 50% product line 2 450 euro
    ---cost beakdown:
    materials 100 euro
    labour 250 euro
    etc. 100 euro
Target costs on the PP order are one cost element : semi-finished consumables for 1000 euros.
I would like to see target costs on the PP order :
    materials 200
    labour 550
    other 250
    Kind regards
    JeVe

  • Product Costing - Two Costing Variants - Mark and Release In Same Company Code Same Period

    Hi All,
We are currently handling a CO-PC project where client has requirement to use two different costing variants in the same period in the same company code. SAP standard does not allow use of two costing variants in the same period for the same company. We can have only One Costing Variant per Co Code for Marking / Releasing Standard Price.
There are some materials in Plant 1 or Plant 2 for which cost estimates using costing variant ABC1 calculated and than prices are marked and released (CK24), now same materials are received in Plant3 where mixed costing is used and thus need to have cost estimates from second costing variant ABC3 (second costing variant) marked and released. Object is to have ABC3 cost estimates in material master standard price field, but SAP does not allow to mark and release for second costing variant in the same period for same co code as ABC1 variant already ran for plant1 or Plant2 under same company code, therefore, business is not able update ABC3 prices in Standard price of the material master.
Purpose of this second costing variant mark and release run is that for some materials business would like to implement costing at Plant3 level also, where they get same materials from different production sites (Plants). At Plant3 level, business is using mixed costing where the standard price is a weighted Average standard price, taking the different production sites standard cost into consideration in combination of the volume split between those production sites.
Did any one worked on this kind of requirement? Is there any SAP standard way to handle? Or this will need some ABAP enhancement?
    Kindly advise.

    Hi Atul
    1. You dont need separate Valuation Variant in Plant 3
    2. Use Costing Variant ABC1 and ensure that it has the needed Valuation Strategies in Valuation Variant
Allow Complete Transfer in the Transfer Control i.e. Cross Plant Transfer in it
    3. Assign the Qty Str Type you have used in ABC3, to ABC1.. i.e. In the Costing Version, assign the Qty Str Type to the Costing Type and Valuation Variant from ABC1
After this, do CK11N and CK24 for Plant 1
Then do CK11N and CK24 for Plant 3, using ABC1.. You dont need to change anythiing before doing CK11N for Plant 3
To make it simple, you can use any one of ABC1 or ABC3 in both the plants.. You only need to ensure that Valuation Variant, TRansfer Control are set up as desired

  • CK11N, release new costing estimate

    Hello all experts,
Please help me on the following question, thank you!!
For example: Product A, it has a standard cost estimate which is released on 01.01.2010, it's costing date from is 01.01.2010 and costing end date is 31.12.2010. In the middle of the year, for example in May, the exchage rate was change a lot, so we want to release a new cost estimate for it. The costing start date is 01.05.2010 and costing end date is 31.12.2010.
My question is: Is it possible for me to do so directly in CK11N and then mark and release it in CK24?
    Thank you very much!!!
    Mavis

    Dear,
The Standard Cost Estimate/Costing  Run will be executed only in Company Code Currency i.e., Local Currency. Exchange rate differences will happen only during execution of Actual Postings.
For example : Goods Receipt of 100 units @ $ value of Rs. 45.
    Finished Goods Account   DR      4500
    GR/IR Clearing Account    CR       4500
    Invoice Receipt/Invoice Verification -MIRO:
    Invoice Receipt 100 units @ $ Value of Rs.48
If the stock is available, the Inventory/Stock Value will be revaluated with the new price. If the stock is not available the Exchange difference will be posted to Exchange Gain/Loss Account based on OBYC settings,  like this.
    Exchange Gain/Loss A/c     DR     300
    GR/IR clearing A/c               DR   4500
    Vendor A/c                            CR   4800
If you want to update the Material Master with new Standard Price, you need to Reorganize existing Cost Estimate through t-code CKR1 and re-run t-codes CK11N and CK24 for Mark and Release the new price.
