Client authentication doesnt work between 1.0.3 and 1.4
Hi!
Has anyone else experienced the following problem?
I programmed an client-server-application using an SSL connection.
It works well if client and server run on the same java version (JRE 1.3
with JSSE 1.0.3 or JRE 1.4). It also works well when server is running on
JRE 1.4 and client on 1.3 with 1.0.3.
But when I run the client with JRE 1.4 and the server with JDK 1.3 and JSSE
1.0.3 the connection fails with the following exception:
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: bad_certificate
Studiing the SSL debug outputs it occured to me that the client did not send
his certificate as he was supposed to be because setNeedClientAuth was set
to true.
So i set NeedClientAuth to false and everything worked OK.
Any ideas about how I can get client authentication working?
If debug output is useful I will post it too.
Thanks in advance.
CU, Florian
Hi!
The described behaviour only shows up with Version 1.4.1 and 1.4.1_01. No problems with 1.4.0_03.
Seems to be a bug in 1.4.1.

Does Airport Express need to be configured to allow AirPlay to work between an iPhone 4s and an iPad2?
Also, attempting to use Airplay with iOS7 shuts off sound to the speakers while allowing sound thru the ear buds! The fix was to restart by depressing the lock switch (opposite the sound out port).Does Airport Express need to be configured to allow AirPlay to work between an iPhone 4s and an iPad2?
You need a minimum of three things for AirPlay:
An iTunes host. This can be a Mac, PC, or iOS device.
A wired or wireless network.
An AirPlay Speaker. This can be an AirPort Express, Apple TV, or a AirPlay-Ready device.
Is your goal to stream between two iOS devices? -
my iphone4 was lost , i used find my iphone app , it doesnt work. i had 3g plan , and the phone still ringing
yeah i tried that icloud and recieved a mssg yesterday from my email that says "
There was a problem putting angel’s iPhone into Lost Mode.
Your iPhone was not put into Lost Mode because of an unexpected error. Try enabling Lost Mode again.
and i also tried reporting it but it wasnt on "my product". so i need to type the serial number and i dont know what it is. -
I got my apple tv in July and now it doesnt work? its very slow and now I cant play anything off my computer on to my tv why?
If that magnet was strong enough, it may have damaged your hard drive. You'll have to bring it in and see if you can get it repaired/replaced.

Client authentication not working
Hi all,
I am using Apache's HTTPClient to connect with a server running https. The server is the latest stable Tomcat (version 4.1.27). If I set clientAuth="false" in the Tomcat configuration, everything is working fine. I am able to comunicate with the server, since the server's certificate is in the trusted store. If I want to authenticate myself (by setting clientAuth="true") it doesn't work. It seems that the application I have written doesn't send the client's certificate.
Here's the code:
HttpClient httpclient = new HttpClient();
Protocol myhttps =
new Protocol(
"https",
new StrictSSLProtocolSocketFactory(false),
8443);
httpclient.getHostConfiguration().setHost("rigel", 8443, myhttps);
GetMethod httpget = new GetMethod("/");
httpclient.executeMethod(httpget);
If I turn on all sorts of debugging this is what I get:

Exception in thread "main"
Does someone have an idea on how to get client authentication (without password) work?
regards,
Kenneth... no IV for cipher
This line is in my debug and the debug posted in the original message.
Am having the same problem of accessing a page with a Client Side Cert that uses a password. I get debug that has the "no IV for cipher" message. It does not throw
an exception, but gets a 403 from server.
Does anyone know? Will a Client Side Cert with a Symmetric Key work in Java APIs?
I load the .pfx cert into a Java KeyStore and send this to Apache HTTPClient. -
Can service broker work between SQL Server 2008 and 2012, ssbdiagnose returned an error !
Hello,
We have a setup of three applications that sends and receive messages using Service Broker.
One part is on a server, we'll call 'S' have Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP3) - 10.0.5512.0 (X64)
The other part, we'll call 'E' use to have Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP3) - 10.0.5512.0 (X64).
But I am migrating these apps to a new server, we'll call 'C' that has: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3339.0 (X64)
I have used this command line tool to test it :
ssbdiagnose -E CONFIGURATION FROM SERVICE "//E/S/CService" -S "ServerC" -d EDatabase TO SERVICE "//S/S/ECService" -S ServerS -d SDatabase ON CONTRACT //E/S/ECContact
It returned:
An internal exception occurred: Cannot read property ServiceBrokerGuid.
This property is not available on SQL Server 7.0.
So, I am wondering, is it supposed to work between these two versions ?
As more info, in the previous setup, it was using certificates but I have changed the Endpoints to use only Windows Authentication.
Thanks for any advice.
ClaudeHello,
Many thanks to you and Fanny for looking at my question.
In fact I was unclear, please let me provide you with more details.
Maybe the use of "always on" plays a role here... I will use different names so it might be clearer...
ServerSoftware2008 server has SoftwareDB database.
ServerEmployees2008 server has EmployeesDB database.
Service broker use to work fine between those two above, with certificates.
The new server comes in, two virtual servers with SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition with Always On.
I call it ServerEmployeesC but this is the listener. Behind, there is ServerEmployees2012_A and ServerEmployees2012_B and of course, both have a EmployeesDB database.
So, to use SSBDiagnose, I wonder if I need to use quotes around values and if I can use the listener name with FQDN. Concerning the use of instance name in the syntax, there is only one instance per server, is it best practice to use it on the command
line ?
Here is again, my command :
ssbdiagnose -E CONFIGURATION FROM SERVICE "//E/S/E" -S "ServerEmployeesC.sub.acme.com" -d EmployeesDB TO SERVICE "//S/S/E" -S "ServerSoftware2008.sub.acme.com" -d SoftwareDB ON CONTRACT //E/S/E
Again, many thanks for any help you will be able to provide, the people who configured this application at first are no longer here and I am trying to configure the new server in a task of migrating to SQL Server 2012 for one of the two servers involved
and I am having a lot of problems doing it.
Best regards,

My sister bought me an ipod touch less than a month ago. when he first came, he was conecting normal to my wifi, but today, he isnt. I use the same wifi at my laptop, and its perfectly working. My ipod identify the network, conects to it, but when I open an app that needs it, it doesnt work. What should I do?
And why is this happening?- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Handoff not working between iPad Mini Retina and 2014 Macbook Air
So, I've upgraded to Yosemite today on my 2014 Macbook Air and have updated to iOS 8.0.2 on my iPad Mini Retina.
Both are on the same wifi network. Both have bluetooth enabled and are paired.
Both have handoff enabled on them.
With all that, I cannot for the life of me get handoff/continuity to work between them. I've reset both machines and reset network settings on the iPad but still no joy.
Am I missing something?
PS I don't have an iPhone, but I'm assuming it should work between an MBA and iPad?
Thanks in advance.Hello JMC1989,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like there is a problem with handoff. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

i downloaded 2 days ago, with my I Phone 4, IOS 8.0, since then it doesnt work, and there is the sign of a usb, with an arrrow pointing on the sign I Tune.
what should i do?You didn't download the new iOS 8 to an iPhone 4. Perhaps you did it to an iPhone 4S.
But if your device is showing you should connect to iTunes on your computer, then that's what you need to do.
Use this article: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -
I have a Pc and been running Itunes off of it for years. Now it doesn't work. It doesn't run stating it is missing something. I have deleted the itunes and reinstalled and have run the repair as well and it doesnt work. I am not pleased. I need help!
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I cannot get FaceTime to work between my new iPad and my iMac any ideas?
I cannot get FaceTime to work between my 3rd Generation IPad and iMac, any ideas?
Not exactly sure about the iMac cause I don't have one. But the email being used on the iPad is at
Settings > FaceTime > You can be Reached for Video Calls at
Below that line there is an Apple ID which is the primary email address being used by the iPad. You can make changes there to change the email address. -

Airdrop not working between MacBook Air 2012 and iMac2014 in Yosemite
I can transfer files using Finder / Shared section, so the two computers are connected. But the AirDrop application doesn't recognize either my iMac (2014) on my MacBook Air (2012), or vice versa. I am running Yosemite. I also have a MacMini (2010) that doesn't show up anywhere as well.
I also have an older iPhone4 (2010) that doesn't run Yosemite. If I buy the new iPhone6, I would like to use AirDrop to transfer files between my phone and 2 computers as well.
What's up?Has airdrop ever worked between these devices before?
Have you tried restarting the network, and all devices?
Do you use any antivirus software, or firewalls? -
Latest version of rhythmbox-client-git doesnt work
I wanted to use the commando "rhythmbox-client --set-rating", but it didnt work. So I installed the latest version from git using the package rhythmbox-client-git from AUR. And now I just get the output "Rhythmbox is not running" when I use rhythmbox-client.
Im using Rhythmbox 2.95-1 from the extra repo and rhythmbox-client-git 20110820-2 from AUR.
What to do?More info about your computer would help.
