Cloning EBS using batch / reponse file

Hi Dear,
EBS 11i / R12
RHEL 4.6
Can I clone the EBS 11i or R12 using batch and response file? I mean opposite to inter-active mode.
I want to turn-over the cloning to our client. But i want to put it on a script where the operator just run
single command like # ./clone_apps.exe
Thanks a lot.
Ms K

Hi,
If i remember correctly, these notes talk about entering apps password when running adcfgclone.pl.
Like.
First creating a $CONTEXT_FILE on the target for first time and using it in sub sequent clones.
And also.
perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier < <put apps passwords here>
Example:
perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier < sppa

  • Setting Oracle environment variable using batch (.bat) file in windows

    Hi,
    Oracle 9i db
    Windows OS
    I am in process to create the database (Considered that Oracle9i software is already installed) by running one batch file which consist of all the scripts for the database creation.
    But i also want to set the environment variables at MyComputer(right click)>properties>advance>environment, permenently by running the batch (.bat) file
    ORACLE_HOME
    ORACLE_BASE
    ORACLE_SID
    So, how can it be done ?
    With Regards

    Hi,
    *@echo off*
    set ORACLE_SID=iprsdb
    set ORACLE_BASE=C:\oracle
    set ORACLE_HOME=C:\oracle\ora92
    call C:\install_bkp\test_env_var.bat
    echo Test Successfull.
    Above mentioned is the code written in the batch (.bat) file
    In that i have also called another .bat file which test the env. variable values which is as below:
    c:\>test_env.bat
    ===================
    Testing oracle sid
    ===================
    iprsdb
    =====================
    Testing oracle base
    ===================
    C:\oracle

    Testing oracle home
    =====================
    C:\oracle\ora92
    Test Successfull.
    But when i checked at MyComputer(right click)>properties>advance>environment variables
    there, I saw none of the entries from the above, why so ?
    how to set env. variables permanently using the DOS commands. ?

  • Cloning EBS using Oracle VM

    Hi does anyone have any practical experience with cloning of release 12 using Oracle VM ?
    I need to knock out some environments during the upgrade project - vmware technology is ideal for copying an environment - I dont want to have to clone the db and app server each time as this is time consuming and i AM THINKING THERE may be an easier way ...
    Welcome advice from anyone who has cloned 11i or release 12 system using vmware/oracle vm technology.
    In the past I have run pre clone on app server, copied app server and db and run adclone to configure the new server .. this is quite time consuming
    Concurrent manager uses os hostname command to sort out name of server so this could be a problem which would not work with straight copy and edit to hosts file such that server x thinks it server y because server y is in /etc/hosts file ...
    This copy and amend approach has worked Ok with soasuite for example I need advice with respect to Oracle Financials ...
    many thanks in advance

Before start process use menu (It should be under tool menu top of screen) and take snapshoot.Let us say call it Level0 which mean your system working and didnt apply any patch etc.. Each steps of upgrade you can give new name. If you have any issue during upgrade or other process you can turn to snapshoot which u took.
    The other steps, you can copy/paste your Wm folder(If you have valid space on disk) and if you have any isue during upgrade you can use this backup but dont forget you need to start over what you do before on this backup(Be sure you have same entery on hosts file)
    If you want to take clone, as Hussein Sawwan's mention you need to follow clone docs.

  • Batch load file for folder

    hi,
    I am using ucm10.1.3.3.3, the question is can I use batch load file for folders?
    There seems only primaryFile in loading definition file, this means I can only define loading files one by one, is there a way to define loading folders.
    I have millions of files within about 100 folders, if no loading folder function is available, what's your suggestion on this case?
    Thanks!
    Best regards

    Hi,
    If you want to replicate the local folder-structure with documents into UCM, I don't think BatchLoader can do that!
    Then either drag-n-drop or write some custom component that creates IdcCommand file for folder-creation as well as checking in documents into UCM folder.

  • How to use batch files to send the load from ODC to UCM?

    Hello all.
    We're trying to do this along this week and, until now, we couldn't figure out how to use batch files containing metada on ODC and commit the output files to UCM.
    So these are our specs:
    VM 1
    ODC - 10gR3
    OS - Windows XP 32 bits SP3
    DB - Oracle DB 11.2
    VM 2
    No ODC
    UCM 11.1.1.6
    OS - Enterprise Linux Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Carthage)
    We've opened a ticket with Oracle Support to know how we should do this. The number is SR 3-6108348211.
    Let me try to explain what we want to do:
    1 - we have a batch file with all metadata of many files from UCM
    2 - we want to use this file in ODC, so the application will convert the images and commit them to UCM
    3 - we should see all these files, their metadata, thumbnails and related content in UCM
    4 - this is a batch file example we want to send to ODC:
    @Properties LocalData
    IdcService=CHECKIN_UNIVERSAL
    dRevLabel = 1
    primaryFile=/tra/Relatorio_UHPF-03-04-2008-M-RL-EA.pdf
    dDocName=TRA_33
    dDocTitle=UHPF-03-04-2008-M-RL-EA
    dSecurityGroup=MAM_TRA
    dDocType=Document
    dDocAuthor=luis.neotropical
    dInDate=14/05/08
    xC_CLASSIFICACAO=EA - Educação Ambiental
    xC_DATA=01/04/08
    xC_DATAVALIDADE=30/04/08
    xC_LOCALIZACAOFISICA=N/D
    xC_USUARIO_DEP=LUIS FERNANDO DA CAMARA
    xC_TIPO=RL - Relatório
    xC_USINA=UHPF - USINA HIDRELÉTRICA PASSO FUNDO
    xC_FICHA=MAM - Relatorios Ambientais
    xC_IDDOCMAN=TRADocID=157
    xC_IDANEXODOCMAN=TRAFileID=33
    xC_DESTINOINICIAL=Tractebel
    xC_ORIGEM=Neotropical
    xC_FORMATODOCUMENTO=Digital
    xC_GENERODOCUMENTO=
    xC_DOCPRINCIPAL=Sim
    @end
    <<EOD>>
    5 - So, when we use this batch file on ODC, the file (or image) will be converted, all metadata attached and then sent to UCM.
    But we don't know how to do the link between ODC and UCM. The Oracle Support says it is necessary to do some customization. In the books I could not find any info about how to do, just generic information or how to use ODC.
    Is there a way (without customization) to do that? Can anyone give us a step-by-step guide?
    Thanks for all help and guidance.
    Fernando

    What is the one-sentence requirement or issue you're trying to solve?
    If you only want content to be converted to pdf, then you should already have that with your items checked into UCM (if you have IBR enabled).
    if you really want to feed content into ODC using a batchfile, my first thought would be to create a transformation utility/app that will convert your batchfiles to the expected ODC import server folder job format. then you'll have to move or map the content to match.
    Again, without knowing the exact issue/business requirement you're trying to work through, I'd say a redesign of your ingestion process may be in order.
    If you feed content directly into ODC through any supported ODC method (watch folder, email, scanner, fax, etc), then you'll be able to use everything ootb as you'll be able to auto-commit directly into UCM or add an indexing step and manual commit to UCM.
    ODC is basically a front end for indexing and extra ingestion options to your content repo.
    IPM is basically the same, but it includes some extra process-related details (process metadata, process integrations/bpel/bpm, other system integrations/ebs/crm, etc). I don't feel that IPM would help with the transformation-specific question you've put out there.

  • How to make Title same as File name using Batch?

    I will be having hundreds of PDFs each month that will need info in the Tile field in Document properties. We create our PDFs from Quark using Distiller. I have found an option in the Batch process in Acrobat for editing the Document properties. Is there something I can enter in the title field that would instruct it to pull the file name as the title? I compare this to using &File in Word when instructing it to include the file name in the header area. Anyone know of any way to do this? I have seen multiple posts to the Acrobat forum regarding similar issues, but none with any responses as to how to accomplish this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    For this behaviour you're looking at a javascript ...
    For dumb population then use Batch Processing inside Acrobat ..

  • How to add or remove silence at the beging and at end of each audio file using batch process

    Hi all,
    I am new to this forum. I have been using Audition 3 for the last couple of years and these days I have to coop with an extra difficult situation, which is; I have more than 2000 files that start and finish with a random length of silence, it varies 0 to 7 sec. My question is, how can I set the silent duration at the beginning and end of each file to a constant amount of 2 sec by using batch process?
    Kind regards,
    Pavlos

    >it's relatively easy to select an absolute time at the beginning of a file (we discovered how to do this a while back), the same technique simply doesn't work at all at the end of it
    Indeed! I had a few trials last couple of days and noticed it.
    Definitely we need help on Audition's scripting language from the people in Adobe. Why don't they produce a scripting language documentation?!

    Hello,
    I'm looking for ideas to securely transfer files bi-directional between Oracle EBS 12.1.3 to IIS using Oracle Managed File Transfer and SOA.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Hussain,
    In the Note 466649.1

    Datafiles on installed on local file system /u01/EBS_DATa/*dbf, *.ctl, *.log
    doing non RAC to RAC conversion with ASM option,
    I am using ASM with RAC and created ASM disks (DATA, FRA, CRS) on Shared SAN disks between node1 and node2 which are DATA for CRD (control, redo and Data) files, FRA for archive files, CRS for cluster files while doing RAC instalation,
    now how i move my CRD on local file system /u01/EBS_DATa/*dbf, *.ctl, *.log to shared ASM disk DATA ???????
    Please describe with step wise,

  • FDM Scripting Query for last imported source file using Batch Processing

    Hi Experts,
    I'm currently in the processing of automating the FDM load process on our version of FDM 9.3.3 using batch processing and the FDM Task Manager. Most of the process works fine including an email alert which notifies users of when a data load has taken place.
    As part of that email alert I am trying to attach the source file that has been loaded in batch processing. I have managed to get an attachment using the following FDM Script Object of:
    "API.MaintenanceMgr.fPartLastFile(strLoc, True, False)".
    But have noticed that using this only attaches the last "manually" imported file rather than the last file imported using the batch processing.
    My question is: Is it possible for someone to steer me into the right direction of either a more appropriate API or if I have missed a step in my script.
    Any help as always would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Pip

    Unfortunately the batch process does not work the same way as on-line. I am assuming you are using the normal batch load and not Multiload (although the batch is simisar).
    the batch file name gets recorded on the tBatchContents table, and moved to the import/batches folder under the folder for the current batch run. However, if successful the file gets deleted (and from memory does not get archived). To add the import file to the e-mail, after a successful load, i think you will need to store a copy of it prior to importing the file.

  • AUTOMATION OF IMPORTING USING BATCH FILES...!

    Hello Everyone!
    I want your help on this matter. Actually I am trying to get data( in the form of XML) from BI into MDM SP04.
    I want to automate the import process. i have saved the map and defined a port in the console and given the map name for the port.
    now i configured the INI file present in the import manager batch.
    I read somewhere that to run the importmanagerbatch.exe file i need to create a batch file having info about the INI file and then run the batch file which will execute the .EXE file.
    But after doing this still data is not cmg in the repository.
    Can anybody list me down all the required steps to automate importing. N can more than 1 map be taken care of in the console? or probably for every map we will have to create new ports for them?
    I am totally confused....... please help me out.
    Thanks and Regards.
    Nitin jain.

    Hi, Nitin,
    The Import Batch can handle any number of maps in one batch process. It does have a limitation that the batch ini file will only reference 1 import file. But that file can contain any number of records and different table data.
    I have used the Import Batch (only useable on Windows) for importing multiple check table data into the repository. In the dat file, I used the following code for each map. This is the code for the Partner Function.
    :: IMPORT MAPS
    cd "C:Program FilesSAP MDM 5.5Import Manager Batch"
    @echo . STARTED Map: "Partner Functions" %DATE% %TIME% >> "C:MDMImportReport.log"
    @echo Executing Map: Partner Functions
    ImportManagerBatch.exe /INI "C:MDMMdmImportCheckTables.ini" /CLIENTSYSTEM "R/3 4.7" /MAP "Partner Functions"
                /LANGUAGE "English [US]" >> "C:MDMImportReport.log"
    IF errorlevel 0 (echo . Completed successfully. >> "C:MDMImportReport.log")
               ELSE  (echo . FAILED with error code %errorlevel% >> "C:MDMImportReport.log")
    IF errorlevel 0 (echo Completed successfully - %TIME%) ELSE (echo FAILED with error code %errorlevel%)
    @echo . Ended Mapping: "Partner Functions" %DATE% %TIME% >> "C:MDMImportReport.log"
    @echo .   >> "C:MDMImportReport.log"
    I then repeated this code in the batch.dat file for each map used. In total I had 93 maps.

  • Sedname - Batch rename files using sed

    Renaming files using sed is nothing new, but this script makes the process a little more friendly and adds a few features, including insertion of sequential numbers and a simulation mode.  The output of any find command can also be piped through sedname.
    sedname version 1.0.0
    Batch-renames files using a sed script
    Usage: sedname [OPTIONS] SEDSCRIPT FILE ...
    Usage: find [...] | sedname [OPTIONS] SEDSCRIPT
    Example: sedname 's/\(.*\)\.jpg/\1.jpeg/' *.jpg
    Example: find /mypics | sedname 's/\(.*\)\.jpg/\1.jpeg/'
    OPTIONS:
    --sim simulate only
    --dir rename directories too
    Use #D to insert a number with D digits forming a unique filename
    Example: sedname 's/thisname.*/thatname#3/' *
    ( changes thisname* to thatname001, thatname002, ... )
    Use #0 in replacement name to insert a number if needed
    Example: sedname 's/thisname.*/thatname#0/' *
    ( changes thisname* to thatname, thatname1, thatname2, ... )

    Edit: tried it now, and had to remove this silly block to make it let me use alternate delimiters:
    if [ "${sedscript:0:2}" != "s/" ]; then
    echo "Invalid sed script: $sedscript" > /dev/stderr
    exit 1

    Thanks
    AshishAshish,
    Is it "symantec's netbackup"? I do not know that product and if it has an option to enter your own RMAN scripts. On the other hand, it should be able to create irman scripts according to your backup job definition.

  • Problem on using batch file

    Hi,
    I have an application which reads data from a text and writes them to a database. I should use batch files in my project to work classes with double clicking on them. Java application reads path of the text file from a properties file. I used relative paths like that " ..\\data\\records.txt" for text file path . But my problem is that; when I run application normally it executes. But when I tried to run it from batch file placed build folder(under project folder) it does not work. Because it tries to find the data folder under the build folder. But data folder is under parent folder of build folder. My batch file code is like that :
    SET PATH=%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%PATH%
    SET LIB_PATH=..\lib
    SET CLASSPATH=%LIB_PATH%\mysql-connector-java-3.0.17-ga-bin.jar;..\bin;..\
    java.exe yega.timesheet.MainApplication ..\\configuration\\properties.props
    pause
    Which statements should I add(and where) to make this batch file search for data folder under its parent folder... Please help me.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Paul, but I tried to use cd before running program. I added "cd .." or "cd ..\" lines to batch file but they didn't work. I decided to use absolute path instead of using relative paths. I also found one more solution. I can put a properties file in build too. And define text path as " ..\\data\\records.txt " in this properties file.
    Also I need to use "\\" because "..\\configuration\\properties.props" is the input for args...
