CME Translation Rule issue
i have CME run om 3945 router with IOS c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-4.M2.bin and we apply translation rule for the incoming and the outgoing calls through E1 and we configured the translation profile under the dial peers , the issue is every random period of time and always we face it first working day after the weed end that the translation profile under the dial peers removed automatically and the calls can't done , so every time we have to reconfigure the translation profile under the dial peer , any one can help ?
kindly find attached ,
i am planing to upgrade the IOS version , is there any recommendation about it to not face any problem with the configuration or files on the flash or the router license ,
thanks ....

This is my running config that I have so far. The issue I'm having is that I can't access the web interface to do any configuring. I am currently hooked up to a DMZ which is on a 192.168.100.1 ip scheme. I am just doing testing of this phone system before I put it in our business to run 100%. At the moment the only thing holding me back is the web interface my boss wants me to be able to access the web interface so then I can configure clients easier. The farthest I've gotten was at 10.10.1.1 I got a page that loads that asks me for my username and password and then it says something about QoS Device Manager - Configure and monitor QoS through the web interface. When I click on that it takes me to a 404 error page. I've looked over my IPs as I posted above multiple times to try and figure out what I'm doing wrong. I at first was having DHCP issues with my laptop and the switch the router was hooked up to, but I got that figured out. Then I thought it might have been vlans but when I did a show vlan-switch I noticed there were only 1 - type = enet, 1002 - type = fddi, 1003 - type = tr, 1004 - type = fdnet, and 1005 - type = trnet.
I noticed I posted this in the wrong area from before. To update what I've done from then till now. All the CME files have been loaded into flash like I was reading in other posts. I did a show flash and everything seems to be in there that I need. I determined the page that is loading up after I type 10.10.1.1 or 192.168.100.2 in my web browser is the router itself. I have this hooked up to a DMZ like I said before and it keeps giving my laptop 2 default gateways one being 0.0.0.0 and the other being 10.10.1.1, not sure why it's doing that. My laptop is receiving and 10.10.1.21 address from the router and I have the router hooked up to the DMZ under 192.168.100.2. We were having issues with an older version of CME so I upgraded to 8.6, I'm using a test router to make sure everything is working before I implement it into our real phone system. Still can't get a web interface to show up. I don't think my ip route command is right but that's how it was in the old config from the phone system we have now. I did a backup of that config and editted everything based off the backup config. Somewhere I think in my config I believe I have something wrong pertaining to an IP address but I can't see it. Been working on this all day and haven't gotten anywhere.Hi Jamie,

Need help on voice translation rules
Hi all,
I have small CME setup and i want to translate the 111 to 09821444335. If some one dial 111 its convert to 09821444335.
so following rule i configured in router but its not working. pls help
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /1111/ /09821444335/
voice translation-profile profile1
translate calling 1
dial-peer voice 2 pots
description OUTGOING-CALLS
translation-profile outgoing profile1
destination-pattern 0T
port 0/0/0:15
Thanx in advance..Hi
In addition to the perfect explanasion of Mr/Andrew. Please find the below to configure the num-exp and ignore translation rule.
num-exp 111 09821444335
dial-peer voice 10 pots
destination-pattern 111
port 0/0/0:15
Num-exp happens BEFORE dial-peer matching, they would have a higher precedence than any translation profiles applied to your dial-peers .
Cisco gateway will take the digits a user dialed and apply any matching number-expansions before looking to match outbound dial-peers so the number-expansion takes priority
Thank you

Test voice-translation rule not working properly
Hi all,
I have a 15.4(1T) image I'm trying to test a voice tranlation-rule on.
If I put in a number that doesn't match, it tells me so. However, if I test a string that does match, I get no results at all.
I know the rule works as this is from our production phone system.
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /^9\([2-9]..[2-9]......\)/ /\1/
CTHA_2901#test voice translation-rule 1 2488900
2488900 Didn't match with any of rules
CTHA_2901#test voice translation-rule 1 92488900
CTHA_2901#
CTHA_2901#
Has anyone run across this? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, or there's a software bug in this image?
Thanks,
BrianHi Jaime,
I hadn't, and that certainly does work. I guess I thought I'd see a no-match message in that scenario too, but never tried it. Thanks! -
How to append calling and called number with translation rules?
Hello,
I have one question about digit manipulations.
How to append calling number and called number with IOS commands?
For example, when 123 dials 45678, translations have to be performed and the new called number to be 12345678.
Thank you,
I will vote this conversation. It is not possible with translation rules.
However, you can do that with a TCL/IVR script. -

Translation rule question - multiple matches
Hi,
I have a translation rule
translation-rule 5000
Rule 1 5000 600
Rule 2 5000 601
Rule 3 5000 602
im trying to understand what will happen here with the rules matching the same digits. Unable to find any documentation at this stage. Will it know if it has been through the first rule or performs a round robin?
ThanksHi
I believe the rule will match the first rule in the list - i.e. like an access-list.
You can test it using
test translation-rule 5000 5000
Where the first 5000 specifies rule 5000, and the second it the input number.
Regards
Aaron

Understanding the translation-rule
hi
i need some help uderstanding the translation profile. you we have a siemens ipbx on one side and a cisco 28xx on the other.
i wanted to create a dial code of 4+xxx (xxx for the extension number of the remote site, since we have overlapping numbers) but i would like the cisco equipment to strip off the 4 and leave just the 3 extension number.
for incoming calls as well, i would like the cisco to strip off the 4 and leave just the 3 numbers before routing to the ext. this is all voip calls
would this be correct:
translation profile to be used in dial plan
/4.../ /.../ for outgoing calls
/4.../ /.../ for incoming calls.
thanks in advance.thanks for the reply. it works for outgoing calls.
this is my config for incoming
translation-rule 20
rule 1 /^4\(...$\)/ /\1/
translation-profile incoming-ho
translate calling 20
i apply this to the dial-peer, but its not working. the incoming ipbx is a siemens. i talked to the siemens guys they say that siemens sends all the digits.
dial-peer voice 4000 voip
translation-profile incoming incoming-ho
translation-profile outgoing gdp-in
destination-pattern 4...
session protocol sipv2
session target ipv4:192.168.128.100
codec g711alaw
do i need to specify any other config for it to translate the incoming call.
thanks in advance. -
Where can I get info on translation rule semantics?
I am looking for a comprehensive list of translation-pattern rule operators. I understand that they don't support wildcards. I have seen some examples with the "^" and others, but have never found any syntax related info.
Can anyone help?Well here is a page that explains it somewhat:
http://cisco.com/en/US/partner/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080094681.shtml
Here is a table of the supported characters:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps5207/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00801a7f32.html#2036716
use the 'test translation-rule' command to check that your translations are doing what you want them to. Hope this helps.... -

How to collect the attempts of calls after translation rule applied?
Hi,
We applied the following translation rules on our voice gateways in order to block malicious incoming calls.
"voice translation-profile call_block
translate incoming 1
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 reject /##########/
rule 2 reject /##########/
dial-peer voice 1 voip
call-block translation-profile call_block"
My questions is - Is there any way to collect the number of those calls hitting our voicegateways?
By the way, the version of gateways is 12.4 (13D)
Thanks,
JessicaYou can route them to a service that announces not to call anymore, using CDR you would also record calling number and time of call.
Note however that usually, after a while malicious callers learn how to hide calling number, thing against which you've no remedy. -
Truncate called number using translation rule
I have a Cisco 2851 router and I need to chop off the first digit in the incoming
called number string (e,g 272109 translate to 72109).
I have tried using rule 1 /^.*\(..\)/ /\1/ but I cannot get this to work, keeps saying it is an incomplete command.
Can anyone help pleaseAre the numbers always the same length? If so, you can use the following rule to keep the last 5 digits.
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /^.*\(.....\)/ /\1/
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Can we remove the "+" sign from calling number ?Hi,
You can try this:
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /^\+/ //
voice translation-profile STRIP+
translate calling 1
Hope to help, please remember to rate the post if it does.

Hello,
Does any one know what is the meaning of the kewyword "&" in the rule 1 /^.*/ /0&/
thanksPatricio,
Hmm that's a weird one unless I did something wrong but it looks like that translates to 0. Run the "Test voice translation-rule" command to verify.
Ignored: ^.* None or more digits from the beginning of number
=
0
and
Either "&" or "\0" for copying the substring matched by the match pattern, which equals nothing in your scenario since you don't have a substring.

Outlook Move Emails to specific folder rule issues.
Hello,
We have found fallowing issue in our Outlook/Exchange environment:
If we setup rules in outlook 2010/2013 to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails are moved to that folders but also they appear in a "Recover deleted Items" folder. if we move emails manually no issues. If we recover them they
will appear double in the specific folder.
We are using two Exchange 2013 Servers in DAG with latest cumulative updates. CAS/MB roles combined.
Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!Hi,
When creating this inbox rule to move emails from specific sender to specific folder emails, please make sure the following field is unchecked.
If we choose this field, then situation like yours will happen.
Please also check if there are any other inbox rules or transport rules relative this issue.
