Cms ConnectionTimeout registry

Hi all,
Can someone explain in which unit the ConnectionTimeout registry entry had to be entered ?
Seconds, milliseconds or whatever...
This reg is situated under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\CMS\Instances\<HOST>.cms
Is there a documentation regarding registry entry (Unix is welcome also)
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards

Hi Sabine,
To set ConnectionTimeout parameter in the unix environment, please follow below mentioned steps:
- Navigate to the following directory
<BO Install Directory>/bobje/data/.bobj/registry/software/business objects/suite 11.5/cms/instances/sunsrv.cms
- Open the .registry file with VI editor in this location
- Edit the ConnectionTimeout parameter to the value in milliseconds and save the file.
Thanks,
Purna.

  • Crystal Reports - WCS (Web Component Server) and CMS login confusion

    Hi,
I reinstalled the WCS after trying to restart the various servers/services for Crystal and having the Event ID 34400:
    -Original Problem-
The description for Event ID ( 34400 ) in Source ( Crystal_WebConnector ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: assert failure in file (Y:\backend\WebAppServer\wsconnector\src\isapi\workerpool.cpp) at line 94.  (false : Request failed with code 3 and error message Communication failed with all configured Web Component Servers because they are disabled or not currently running. If this problem continues, please contact the system administrator.)..
-Current Problem (after uninstalling and reinstalling WCS - yuck)-
Anyway, now I'm unable to log back into the CMS through the WCS  (See screenshot:   <a href="http://www.picsaway.com/view/crystalproblm-95f6e20632.jpg">http://www.picsaway.com/thumbs/crystalproblm-95f6e20632.jpg</a>  )
Is it definitely the same username and password on the right box as used in the left box?  I don't know what the password is (and have asked a colleague but received no response yet).  The CMS is running on the same computer as the WCS so I was hoping not to have to authenicate via WindowsNT/Enterprise/LDAP (the 3 options).
So.. I'm sorry for the ramble but I've made a problem worse trying to fix it and am not sure where to go from here.
    Thanks,
    Hew

  • Crystal Enterprise 10 CMS Server not coming up

    Hello,
I am getting errors while trying to start Crystal Enterprise 10 on UNIX. The CMS server does not come up. I turned on the trace for the startup script and below is the error log. Can someone help me diagnose the issue please. If this is due to corrupt registry or corrupt objects, can I just restore from backup of the registry directory and restart?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Try these,
    1. Check whether the JDK version is an appropriate one and complete installation is done. Necessary entries of JAVA_HOME path is done in the Environment Variable.
    2. Increase the heap size through Configtool of the J2EE Engine. After setting, restart the server.
    3. Have the virtual memory increased.
Consider awarding points to helpful answer.

  • InfoView Login Looking for CMS Cluster....that doesn't exist

    Hello,
I have inherited a BO install and I am not tracking down a problem they are currently facing. When logging into InfoView they get the error:
CMS host 'Prod_Server' address was resolved properly, but cannot be reached to establish a CMS connection. Verify that your router/firewall allows communication on port 6400
Now here is the thing. We don't have a cluster or at least that wasn't the intention. One machine is for test one is for prod. The error above comes when logging into the test machine. According to the error message it is looking for the prod server??? As for the error in and of itself YES prod is in a dmz so I'd expect the error if I was trying to connect to prod...but I'm not...yet it is??? Looking at the CMS in CCM shows they are part of their own cluster...yet in the registry for the TEST machine CMSCluster key has an entry for the PROD server???
So do I just start commenting out keys and rebooting to see what happens or can someone shed some light on this for me?
    Thank You

Is that what you were after?
....Problem solved. Someone had renamed the server and we were all using / expecting an old server name. They were supposed to use the old server name for the move but instead created a new name.

  • Remodelling a CORBA hierarchical CMS

    Hi all,
I'm totally a newbie about EJB, just screening docs. I have a CORBA-based, hierarchical DMS/CMS, and I'm evaluating how to publish it through EJB. I'm actually blocked with concepts concerning how to handle nesting. Our model is centered around item entities which contents are list of named properties - value is anything represented in CORBA IDL. Values can be child items, so that a tree takes place (something like Windows registry). Then values can be folders of items, e.g. (possibly large) collections of them.
At any node, we can have indexes, covering underlying subtree contents.
Now, I understand that in EJB - retrieval by find/query occurs only from entity managers, which in turn are provided by a static factory "injected". How can I handle the fact that an entity item can host others as children, thus acting as entity manager itself ? Can the factory be something dynamic or can an entity be a manager in general ?
    Thanks -- Renzo

I'm afraid I have to go through EJB, but what I miss is about their semantic dependency on the relational model. Our db supports relations (e.g. links) from any item to any other. Hierarchical containment is just one type of relation - one-to-many - and it can be navigated in both directions. A big difference is that our folders are not necessarily tables, since they can host etherogeneus entities. However QL matches standard WHERE clause of SQL, so queries apply as well as direct finding.
My actual critical point is about managing entity managers, since - unlike RDBMS - all these entities are not necessarily flat and a single top-level entity manager is not enough.

  • CMS Replication between Edge and Front End

    Hello Support
We have a global Lync Deployment with CMS Store located in UK
We have installed new AU Lync-FE and Edge server but the CMS replication between Front End Server and Lync Edge is not working
I have test 4443 and certainly open. Lync Edge server or the FE server does not logs anything in event viewer.
I have used OCSlogger but I could not find any issue
I have checked certificates and they are all valid.
Can I please get some guidance.

    Naimesh Mistry

    HI NImesh,
First if you are looking at Lync control panel you might see the Cross because Edge server is non domain machine.
you can check the command Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus
Also there are Cert problem which could lead this issue
The root CA certificate should be located in Trusted Root Certification Authorities ONLY,
and must be removed from any other container.
The intermediate CA certificate should be located in Intermediate Certification AuthoritiesAND Trusted
People ONLY, and must be removed from any other container
Also create the below registry values.
created2 registry values in:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL as follows (to prevent schnnell.dll from
interfering with validating the certificates by Edge server):
    Value
    1:
    Name: SendTrustedIssuerList
    Type: DWord
    Value: 0
    Value
    2:
    Name: ClientAuthTrustMode
    Type: DWord
    Value: 2
then try to reboot the server and run this command Invoke-CsManagementStoreReplication
    Hope this works.

  • Modifications made to role membership and impact to CMS

After roles have been imported into the CMS successfully, role memberships may change.  I see where if you check "Force Synchronization" all you have to do is click Update on the Role Import Tab.
I see the act of logging in to the CMS via InfoView or other app using SAP Auth...forces synchronization as well.
Are there any other mechanisms that synchronize?  Does the CMS poll the SAP backend at all on a periodic basis to ensure all role membership is synchronized.?  If so, can that process be administered at all (i.e. registry setting?)
    Thanks.

  • Can Muse be used to create a site that requires a CMS with multiple user accounts?

Hi, I am new to Adobe Muse and I would like to understand some specific things about the software. I have been comissioned to create a gallery website which requres a cms for use with mulitple accounts for the users/ artists to display seperate profiles and submit work to. Does Muse have this functionality and if possible to answer, how would I do this? I have looked at the tutorials on Adobe for Muse but I have not seen anything related to this, only the Busines Catlalyst website management software (if indeed it is software). Are there any tutorials on this or could I please be directed to one if no direct answer can be given here as I appreciate it is quite an indepth question. Thanks..

Wait for the new version of Muse which should be published during the first quarter of this year. I guess that in the new Muse version could be basic CMS features?

"Error while registering the Java 2 Runtime Environment registry keys"
I am getting the above error when trying to install the 1.3 JRE (installed with the 1.3 plug in which I need). As part of my development I have been installing and uninstalling the JRE multiple times. Then, I got the above error when trying to install it, and now it appears to be installed but I cannot uninstall it. When I try to uninstall it, it just remains, and when I try to install it again I get the above error. I have tried cleaning up all javasoft registry entries, but it doesnt seem to have helped. Can anyone help me either completely uninstall the JRE so I can do a clean install or help me get rid of the error above when I install. Is there some registry entries I should be looking at? Anything else? this is quite urgent as I need to test my applet with the plugin installed and not installed - and I currently cant uninstall it. Any ideas?

Can any one please help me to solve this issue.

    Hi hamsa,
Have you tested the service? If It works, maybe there's something wrong with your destination configuration.
