Code Style - Line Wrapping - JSPX files

JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2
I've got my Line Wrapping Line Width set to 180 and this works for my Java code but not for my JSPX files, which continue to break at 80 columns. In previous releases of JDeveloper my JSPX code would also wrap at 180, but I cannot remember what I did to make that happen. Can anyone give me a hint?
Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,
JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2
when I set Tools / Preferences / Code Editor / Display / Right Margin Column to 180 my line is on the same position also in jspx files

  • JDeveloper settings - change the default code editor view for JSPx  files

    Hi, when you open a .JSPX or JSP page the editor opens in 'design' mode. Is there a way to change this default behavior and open in 'source' mode? I write the JSF/JSP pages editing code and every time I open a new page I have to wait till the IDE opens in view mode and then manually switch to source mode by hand.
    Thanks
    Jordi

    A year and a half after this post, and I still have this same issue as well. Even 10.1.3.3 has it.
    Thanks for posting the solution as this will now save me lots of time waiting and often re-starting JDeveloper.

  • Line wrapping and font styles?

    Hi,
    If I have a piece of text which I would like to see line wrapped, and font styled, how should I do that?
    javax.swing.JTextArea has the capabilities to set line wrapping to on.
    javax.swing.JTextPane has the capabilities to set font styles like bold, italic and so on.
    But what if you have a piece of text you don't know the (possible) length of (so you would like to have line wrapping), AND to which you want to apply font styles to. JTextArea and JTextPane are siblings, not ancestors. So I can't use it. I have looked in the code to see if I could use pieces of code in my own program. But not luck.
    Do you have a suggestion for me?
    TIA,
    Abel

  • Code Style one character indent after a comment line

    I have a problem with "Code Style" formatting undesirably. Any time I put a comment (//) line into my code the next line is indented one space. I can't find any setting in "Code Style" that alters this. I end up doing a lot of manual format editing to get rid of those spaces (the real problem is when I cut and paste a large block of code after a comment line - then the entire code block, every line, has that extra space of indenting).
    Does anyone know how to alter this behavior?
    This is with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.

    You can use an "indent to here" character before Diesel or set up your paragraph as follows
    left indent 0.125" (or whatever)
    first line indent -0.125"
    You should use your existing paragraph style, too. No need for a new one the way you've described it.

  • Errors in rendered attribute of main jspx files generated code using JAG

    I have been using JHeadStart in JDeveloper 10.1.3 Release 3 using the JHeadStart from the update site: http://files.oraclecorp.com/content/AllPublic/SharedFolders/JHeadstart%2010.1.3%20Preview-Public/center.xml
    When using JAG on a HR project with 5 levels I get an error in Locations, Regions, Countries, Departments, Employees.jspx files
    It generates the following:
    rendered="#{!createModes.CreateEmployees ${JHS.addELExpression(${JHS.current.group.insertAllowedExpression},"and")}}"
    I fix the "and" problem
    rendered="#{!createModes.CreateEmployees ${JHS.addELExpression(${JHS.current.group.insertAllowedExpression},'and')}}"
    Disassembling the above for better readability:
    rendered=""
    !createModes.CreateEmployees ${}
    JHS.addELExpression()
    ${JHS.current.group.insertAllowedExpression},'and'
    This should be legal code!?
    It complains that it encountered a "(" where another character is expected
    Replacing ${JHS.addELExpression(...)} with ${1} I get an error saying Expression Language is not supported for rendered attribute!?
    Where do I go from here?
    Thanx in advance :-D
    PS: I am giving a Java community presentation tomorrow at noon with a JHeadStart demo, so it would be really cool with a fix ASAP ;)
    Perhaps using the JHeadStart from local file would fix the problem!? I will give it a try...

  • Center text in a text component with line wrapping

    I need to display dynamic text in a text component. I need line wrapping (on work boundaries) and also need horizontal and vertical center alignment.
    How do I do this? I saw a previous post on aligning text in a JTextArea that said to use a JTextPane but I don't see in JTextPane how to do word wrapping.
    Thanks,

  • Disable Line wrap in Terminal

    How do you disable line wrap in bash? As in
    $ls -la
    or
    mysql> select * from db;
    displaying exceedingly lengthy data. Or perhaps readline options to disable wrapping?
    May be just a horizontal scroll bar in Terminal?

    Thanks for responding. I believe that setting is for input not output. Plus it is on. I think terminal needs a horizontal scrool bar.

  • JDeveloper 11g breakpoints do not work in .jspx file.

    Hi, there is an issue with the JDeveloper 11g debugger, running an ADF application with embedded WL server (JSF version - Trinidad).
    It stops at the breakpoints in the .java file, but not in the .jspx files.
    Any suggestions on configurations to check....
    Currently:
    -Generate Debug info is checked,
    -precompile JSP is unchecked
    -server and application are being ran in debug mode
    Spent a lot of time already seeing similar posts but there is no meaningfull answer as to what configurations are responsible for the debugger.
    Please do not waist your time or mine advising to reboot pc or re-install Jdev ;-)
    Thank you

    Hi John,
    Thank you for your prompt response.
    Here is a sample code with the breakpoint.
    (breakpoint here)<tr:outputText value="Date of hire #{bk_editSalesRoleBean.salesRole.person.effective}">
    <f:convertDateTime pattern="#{res['date.format.readOnly.display']}"/>
    </tr:outputText>
    It's a source line type breakpoint and the execution should be halted at it. I wanted to review value in the pattern reference in the convertDateTime tag.
    Thanks,
    Taras

  • How can I return all line in a file that matches using regexp

    Hi!
    I want to return whole line from a file. This lines must to contains matches for a pattern.
    How Can I do this.
    I make some samples, but only return the matches segment of the line.
    Sample code to look for 00:00
    If I put .*00:00.* in the pattern this return whole line, but is to slow in this file about 300,000 lines.
    If I put just 00:00 in the pattern only return the 00:00, but so fast.
    What can I Do, or I must use indexOf in a sequential read?
              try {
                   // Create matcher on file
                   Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile(".*00:00.*");
                   Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(fromFile("logusers_0712"));
                   // Find all matches
                   while (matcher.find()) {
                        // Get the matching string
                        String match = matcher.group();
                                     //Here I display the matches
                        System.out.println(match);
              } catch (IOException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              }Thanks in advance

    My two cents:
    Grep is a Bad Idea (TM). It is not java and itties
    es the solution to a the operational system.Not necessarily bad. Like you say--we don't know much
    about the OP's requirements, so grep may be just
    fine.
    !java != badYour assertion is true. But creating an solution tied to the system when you can do it pure java does not seem like a good Idea especially when we not even know which system he is using. What if he is using Windows or MacOS? Sure he can use grep on non *nix systems, but that would fore him to install the necessary tools, making his solution even more complex.
    >
    About using indexOf, it is a little limited, not
    ot knowing what exactly the OP is searching for itis
    difficult to say if it is enough. RegEx would workin
    both ways.He said he was searching for "00:00". I think that was just a sample. He apears to be scanning a log file as far as I understood. 00:00 could be a timestamp for whose he wants to see the entries. Using a RegEx make the job easier, like "01:\\d{2} am" to get the whole range of entries inside that morning hour.
    If it's really
    that literal string he needs to match, as opposed to
    say "\\d\\d:\\d\\d" then indexOf is simpler. It will
    probably perform better too. I don't know if that
    difference will be significant, but on a file of
    300,000 lines, it might be noticable.The only way to know that is testing both solutions. But you are right, we are just wondering here, with no better info on the requirements anything can go. I agree with you, indexOf is the simple way to go and probably will sufice.
    May the code be with you.

    Hi!
    This is a possible solution to your problem.
    import java.io.*;
    class AddressExtractor {
         public static void main(String args[]) throws IOException{
              //retrieve the commandline parameters
              String fileName = "default.html";
              if (args.length != 0)      fileName =args[0];
               else {
                   System.out.println("Usage : java AddressExtractor <htmlfile>");
                   System.exit(0);
              BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(new File(fileName)));
              StreamTokenizer st = new StreamTokenizer(in);
              st.lowerCaseMode(true);
              st.wordChars('/','/'); //include '/' chars as part of token
              st.wordChars(':',':'); //include ':' chars as part of token
              st.quoteChar('\"'); //set the " quote char
              int i;
              while (st.ttype != StreamTokenizer.TT_EOF) {
                   i = st.nextToken();
                   if (st.ttype == StreamTokenizer.TT_WORD) {
                        if (st.sval.equals("href")) {
                             i = st.nextToken(); //the next token (assumed) is the  '=' sign
                             i = st.nextToken(); //then after it is the href value.
                             getURL(st.sval); //retrieve address
              in.close();
         static void getURL(String s) {
              //Check string if it has http:// and truncate if it does
              if (s.indexOf("http://") >  -1) {
                   s = s.substring(s.indexOf("http://") + 7, s.length());
              //check if not mailto: do not print otherwise
              if (s.indexOf("mailto:") != -1) return;
              //printout anything after http:// and the next '/'
              //if no '/' then print all
                   if (s.indexOf('/') > -1) {
                        System.out.println(s.substring(0, s.indexOf('/')));
                   } else System.out.println(s);
    }Hope this helps. I used static methods instead of encapsulating everyting into a class.
