Collections Work Item (Processing deadline)

Hello Colleagues,
I am trying to determine how the Processing deadline works for Collections Work Items in IS-U.
If I assign a Work Item Category a Processing deadline of 7 days,  (Mandatory = Blank) and I trigger a Work Item today,  I can see that the Run Date on the header table DFKKWL is set to 7 days past the creation date of the Worklist.
However, when I do run dunning with Issue date 7 days later, the Work Item is not closed (Still Open). This is not an enforcement work item.
If you have successfully worked with Processing Deadlines before, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences.
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Ivor Martin

Hi William,
in my project we want to use processing deadlines to automatically close work items when run date is past for work items (mandatory= blank and enforcement= blank) which are still open (statuts New or In process). This should be done before dunning is launched each day.
I understood that the processing deadline is informational and has no functionality in dunning.
But I was hoping that a standard way would exist do it? (in function module FKK_0350_WLI_CREATE_AND_CLOSE, or other standard program to launch)
I didn't find anything about that and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Emilie

  • Closing Collections Work Items based on FI-CA Transactions

    Hello Colleagues,
We have a requirement to close Collections Work Items when certain transactions are performed, e.g. Creation of Instalment Plan, Write-off, Payments to name just a few.
Because some of  these items involve clearings,  Dunning  will not be triggered for the cleared items. Therefore I assume the Dunning BRF configuration cannot be used to close the Work items.
Is the  only way to close work items when these FICA transactions are performed is by coding FICA Event logic that is specific to each of the transactions? (e.g. use a Write-Off Event to close work items when items are written off, an Installment Plan Event  when Installment Plan is created, and so on? )
Your insights will be very helpful.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ivor Martin

    Thanks Bill.
I understand and agree with  the expectation gap about Instalment Plans.
Some good news on clearing of dunned items:
We did some more testing after un-checking the  "Enforcement" Work item in the Work item category configuration.
Now the work item is closed when the document that is in dunning is cleared (i.e. via payments, write-offs, reversals, acct maintence, etc). The Work item Status turns to "G" (closed due to incoming payment).
I have logged an OSS in regards to the Instalment Plan on the request of my client - I would  be surprised if they send us a fix to close the work item upon creation of an Instalment Plan. I think we will end up coding our work item closing logic in FI-CA Event 3040 (after the Instalment Plan is created).

  • Execute Background Work Item using Deadline Monitoring

    Hi All,
I want to execute a Background Task using Requested Start. The status of Work Item is Waiting. But it is not executing after Deadline reaches and in graphic log it displays no agent. As per my knowledge Background work item is executed by Workflow system itself.

    Hi Bikash
check if the deadline monitoring job is running or not. SM37-> Check for job SWWDHEX
if not then schedule it from SWU3.
This is the job which actually picks up the waiting items (waiting for deadlines).

  • Will the reserved work item triggers deadline?

    hi,
im working on DMS workflow for the transaction CV02N.
when i got the work item , i have double clicked and it has taken me to cv02n  transaction.
i did not do any thing in the transaction  and came to my business workplace with out saving any thing .
now the work item status is RESERVED.
are these kind of reserved work items are able to trigger deadlines if i mention simple deadline for the work item?
    Raghu

    Hi Agardeep,
i  have to use deadline with latest end tab for my scenario.
so,  do this reserved work items are able to trigger deadlines for latest end?

  • IDoc - Work item processing documentation

  • How to get work item details programatically ?

    Hi All,
I have a list of work items (process instances) and I want to retrieve each item details such as: attachments, notes, id, ...
All the items are filtered and represented as Fuego.Papi.Instance:
    Fuego.Papi.Instance[] inst = busProcess.getInstancesByFilter(filter : instFilter);
But the work item details are inherited from Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance. So, how to get the item details from inst[] ?
Would appreciate any help, may be Dan will have an advise ?
    Regards,
    Kim

If you have instances returned by your filter, you could extract variable information for each instance by doing something like this:
for each inst in getInstancesByFilter(ps, filter : instF) do
// here's how to get the value inside a primitive instance variable
orderAmtObj as Object = getVar(inst, var : "orderAmount")
// here's how to get the value of attributes inside a complex BPM Object instance variable
//    - in this case this is an "order" object with two attributes (customerName and amount)
orderObj as Object = (getVar(inst, var : "order"))
        xmlObject = Fuego.Xml.XMLObject(createXmlTextFor(DynamicXml, object : orderObj, topLevelTag : "xsi"))
logMessage "The value of the order object's customer name is: " +
               selectString(xmlObject, xpath : "customerName")
logMessage "The value of the order object's order amount is: " +
               selectNumber(xmlObject, xpath : "amount")
// here's a rather uninspired way to retrieve who the participant is that was assigned the instance
logMessage "The participant assigned to this instance is: " + inst.participantId
endInside the above "for" loop, you could retrieve these predefined variables (this example assumes you use "inst" in your "for" loop):
        objRet as Any
        objRet = inst.getVar(var : "PREDEFINE_ACTIVITY")
logMessage "Activity name = " + objRet using severity = DEBUGSubstitute "PREDEFINE_ACTIVITY" in the above logic to get this information:
    PREDEFINE_PRIORITY (priority)
    PREDEFINE_ACTIVITY_DEADLINE (activity.deadline)
    PREDEFINE_CREATION_TIME (creation.time)
    PREDEFINE_PROCESS_DEADLINE (deadline)
    PREDEFINE_DESCRIPTION (description)
    PREDEFINE_PROCESS (process)
    PREDEFINE_RECEIVED_TIME (receptionTime)
    PREDEFINE_PARTICIPANT (participant)
    PREDEFINE_COPY (id.copy)
    PREDEFINE_STATUS (status)
Similarly, you might want to try to get instance information using the Fuego.Papi.VarDefinition object a try. Never used it, but the logic might be as simple as:
        logMessage "who created? = " + inst.getVar(Fuego.Papi.VarDefinition.CREATOR_ID) using severity = DEBUG
logMessage "does it have attachments? = " + inst.getVar(Fuego.Papi.VarDefinition.HAS_ATTACHMENTS) using severity = DEBUG
logMessage "does it have notes? = " + inst.getVar(Fuego.Papi.VarDefinition.hasnotes) using severity = DEBUGDan

    Work item display for step " Deadline Missed: Invoice# 5106117758 PO# 4567819 V " called...

    Thank you

    Hello,
"i looked in SWI1 to see who processed it. But it is not showing any parituclar agent name. "
Maybe nobody has process it, which is why it went overdue and passed the deadline.
If it's a dialog task and it's completed then there must be an agent attached to it.
Look in the workflow builder to see how the deadline is set up for that step. It could be that it just issues a notification.

  • Collect Idocs - Work Item Execution Time

I have created an integration process that includes a collect process which follows the BpmPatternCollectTime pattern. Everything works great. I have one question though. When monitoring the process in SXMB_MONI and looking at the technical details for the collect block work item the execution time continues to grow, despite the work item having a status of completed with a creation date and latest end date. Why does this work item's execution time continue to grow, despite being in a completed status? Will this cause a problem? Does the SWWCLEAR job clean this up? I don't want to have workflow items out there with execution times climbing into days. I fear that will cause a performance issue, even though they show as completed status. By the way, this is in a PI 7.1 environment.

    hi Chris,
    >>>Your blog does provide some interesting points when collecting to generate a single file.
file is only of of 5 possibilities that mz blog mentiones
the point is that BPM is the worst approach out of those 5 and all other 4
can easily replace your BPM IDOC collect pattern
this way not only the vendor's system will work more efficienlty but also yours
but you will do as you like/prefare and you can come back
to the forum everytime you get an issue with a BPM - no problem

  • HCM Forms&Process :Authorization error while opening work item in the UWL

    Hi,
The process has been started successfully and the work item was appeared in the  UWL of MSS.
But when I try to open the work item  , I got the following errors:
"User XXXX doesnot have authorization on pernr 8000123"
"You are not authorized to process this process"
When I checked, the User XXXX has the required roles for authorization such as SAP_ASR_MANAGER and SAP_ASR_EMPLOYEE and the authorization object P_ASRCONT has been assigned to it as well.
Still why these errors are coming?
    Does anybody know about it?
    Thanks & regards,
    Lek

    Hi,
I have had exactly the same error. Make sure you have read the help.sap.com documentation carefully:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/43/3d8f8118391bcbe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm. The minimum requirement is access to one infotype (it does not matter whether there is data in the infotype and it does not matter which infotype you choose) via CHECK_MIN_PERNR_AUTHORIZATION of BAdI HRPAD00AUTH_CHECK. More specifically, we solved it be providing access to infotype 0002 to all employees.
Furthermore, check what level of authorizations you have set in the config for the activities.
IMG->Personnel Management->HR Administrative Services->Authorizations->Define Authorization Method for Activities (All Processes) or Define Authorization Methods for Activities (for Each Process Group).
This should help you solve your problem.

  • Creating a new work item instance in a process using PAPI

I'm seeing that there are a lot of questions on this forum about using Oracle BPM 10g's Java API called PAPI.
I just uploaded a step by step document on how you could do this using JDeveloper 11. Here's the link to this document: http://www.4shared.com/file/126507332/e814a3a8/CallingPapi.html. The Oracle BPM project I used for this step-by-step document is also in this zip file. If you're curious, this also describes how to download, install and start JDeveloper 11.
This is not formal Oracle documentation, but I know from teaching our Oracle BPM Bootcamp class that getting PAPI to work is sometimes a challenge and thought this might help. I tried to write it with the "Java Newbie" in mind so do not panic if you aren't an expert in Java (I'm sure not ?:| ).
This is a simple example that uses most of the logic found in the PAPI documentation on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/papi/index.html?t=modules/papi/c_Head_PAPI.html in the "Writing Your First Java PAPI Program" section of this document.
The document provides a step-by-step description on how how to use PAPI to:
<li> interface to processes running on an Oracle BPM Enterprise Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
<li> interface to processes running on an Oracle BPM Studio Engine
<li> list processes currently running on the Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
<li> list the work item instances running on the Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
<li> create a new work item instance in a process and pass in input argument variables to the new instance as it is created.
    Hope you find this useful,
    Dan

    Hi
i have gone through your example. It gives good information how to connect to BPM engine through java papi client. I have followed exactly the same steps given in the PDF document. But it throws the exception on both java client side and BPM Suite.
    Steps followed :
    1. Import sampleproject.exp into Oracle BPM studio and start the BPM engine.
    2. Imported the fuegopapi-client.jar and Write the JAVA PIPA client to connect Oracle BPM Engine.
    complete example code:_
    import fuego.papi.CommunicationException;

  • How to send emails using Automatic Work Items in Collections using XML Publ

    Hi,
We are using XML Publisher to send correspondances in Advanced Collections.
We want to send email correspondances using Automatic Strategy Work Items.
Can anybody please help on how to send these?

I believe you have to define your dunning template and assign that template to the strategy work item.
Let me know if you are still not able to do it.

    Hi Max,
Did you check transaction SWPC? If the workflows are in there you can start them through in a proper way.
