Color checker profile (in lightroom) only work for JPEG file?

I followed all tutorials for color checker-lightroom and succeeded to sync my JPEG images into the camera profile I want.
However, these are JPEG images from the camera. I want to work with raw file or at least PSD file.
So my retouch pipeline was:
- opened my raw file
- save it as PSD
- back to lightroom and open it there
- and intended to sync this PSD file image with the camera profile
But this is impossible to do, because suddenly all the camera profile options (the ones we generated via color checker passport and the default adobe profile) are dissapeared. The only option of camera profile now is "embeded".
That's it. So does it mean that I have to convert my raw file into JPEG first ?
If yes, it's very unpractical and I can loose a lot of data bcause I thought saving it to PSD or TIF keep the image data better than into JPEG.

In LR Preferences / External Editing you can control things about the LR-to-PS transfer: the file format (PSD/TIFF), the color profile (sRGB, AdobeRGB, ProPhotoRGB), and the bit-depth (8 vs 16).
My Edit-in-Photoshop is set to use PSD, ProPhotoRGB, 16-bit. I have chosen this because it gives me a large colorspace, with millions of distinct colors and a file-format that can contain smart-layers and other Photoshop-specific things. LR, itself, is using a color-sapce as large as ProPhotoRGB and I don’t want to lose colors just because I’m editing in Photoshop, at least not until I’ve finished my adjustments in PS.
A large colorspace with millions of colors gives more freedom for extreme adjustments before color banding (posterization) or color-shifting (channel clipping) at the bright end of the histogram. The downside is that before I can save my photo as JPG for general viewing is that I need to set PS / Edit / Convert Profile to sRGB and PS / Image / Mode to 8-bit.
It sounds like you are saving your photos as 8-bit ProProtoRGB not realizing you also need to convert to sRGB as your color profile. For browsers and operating-systems that don’t do color-management correctly, which is most browsers and Windows-halfway, your ProPhotoRGB color numbers in the JPG are being interpreted as sRGB which makes them much duller and less saturated. It may be that you have your External Editing set to 8-bits, which is not a good idea if you are using ProPhotoRGB as your colorspace, so set it to 16-bit.

"Open With" CS3 not working for JPEG file

Operating system is XP. I am trying to get CS3 to automatically open all JPEG files when I double click on them in windows explorer.
I open windows explorer, right click on the image that I want to open, then click "open with" ....
...at this point CS3 is not one of the choices on the "open with" menu so I already smell a problem ....
..... so I click "choose program" and navigate to the adobe photoshop cs3 folder and point to photoshop.exe, then click the "always use the selected program" box, click open, and bada-boom, bada-bing, the image opens in photoshop CS3, right? WRONG.
The image opens in the Quicktime Picture Viewer program and NOT IN PHOTOSHOP CS3.
I feel that I have entered the Twilight Zone, otherwise known as The Adobe Messed Up Someting In The Registry Upon CS3 Install Zone. Does anyone have any hints on how to get PS CS3 working as the default program for JPEGs when I double click them from explorer on my XP computer?

After a long search I found the answer:
To associate all jpeg files with Photoshop CS3 so that they will open into CS3 when double clicked:
Click Start, Run and type in: Control Folders.
Click the file Types Tab.
Wait for the list of file types to populate.
Single click on the jpeg file type.
Click the Advanced button.
Highlight open and click the edit button.
Browse to the location of photoshop.exe in the CS3 folder.
A few OK's and you are done.
AND ANOTHER THING .........
After the change above was made, jpg files would open directly to photoshop cs3 when doubleclicked, but the maintained the same goofy quicktime pictureviewer icon when viewed in windows explorer. To change the icon for jpeg files displayed in all folders to the photoshop icon, do this:
Start / My Computer
Click Tools at the top of the screen.
Click folder options .... then the file types tab
Click on jpeg in the list and click the advanced button
Click change icon and browse to the photoshop.exe for CS3
A list of ocon choices will appear .... I chose the second row first icon
A couple of OKs and you are done

Reconnectin Media only works for one file at a time...

Hi,
After having many times relinked hundreds of off-line media files in one go, FCP now doesn't want to reconnect more than one file at a time. Although all other files are in the relative path, it seems as if I have to relink 1200 files one by one...
I've found another thread in here, unfortunately closed, but wonder if that bug hasn't been fixed yet. Does anybody know a solution for this?

AND... don't forget that "relative path ALSO refers to the perhaps many bins you have inside FCP. So it's possible to connect everything in a particular bin, as long as all those files are in the same folder on your drives, whether it be capture scratch, or another folder of imported material. some people I know like to put EVERYTHING in the capture scratch folder for that reason. I personally don't, but I've got a system that works for me.
EDIT: I had a mentor once, many years ago, who suggested strongly that you ought to leave the cutting room every day set in such a way as ANYONE could walk in the next day and pick up right where you left off, just in case you got run over by a car. And dang it, that's just what happened to me. Ralph, you doomed me!
Now, while he was talking film, the same rules apply. Best not to have files floating all over the place, where you've got to go searching for them.
Whether there is a bug with a specific version, I have no idea.

My spell check only works for about half of an article. Is there a way to fix this?

When I'm on a wiki, looking at an article, I sometimes see a couple spelling errors that just bug me, so I sometimes go in and fix them. However, when I pull up the editing page, the spell check only works for about the first half of the article. I can't find the errors if they're in the second half of the article. Is there a way to fix this?

You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Does Lightroom only work when online?

Does Lightroom only work when I am online? Do I have to be online to process or work on files? If I cannot be online, eg, when in a remote area with no service, how do I process my photo's?

You can easily test this by cutting off all network access to your computer (turn off wi-fi or disconnect the network cable). You'll find that you can still get stuff done if there is no Internet. Especially if you are using the non-subscription version of Lightroom, which doesn't need to check in at all after it's first licensed.
If you do use Lightroom through a subscription to Creative Cloud, the annual plan has an offline mode limit of 99 days (over 3 months); the limit is 30 days offline for the monthly plan. And if you stop your subscription, you still have access to your images and some Lightroom features.

I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)

But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3."

Hide "more" button in a list view, only works for first item in the list

I have the following code in a list view that outputs several dozen items in a web app. The code only works for the first item, how can I make it loop through and execute the test for each item in the list view? The {tag_hide more button} is a checkmark field that yields a numeric 1" if checked otherwise yields a numeric "0".

What's the URL for the site where you are using this? Offhand, it looks like it should work with your first example so you are either placing the script before those elements are loaded or you might try wrapping your current javascript inside the:
$(document).ready(function() {
--- your existing javascript here
This make sure the code runs once all the html is loaded on the page. Without seeing a URL and debugging with the js console in Chrome I can't give you a solid answer.
But, I do know that you can probably do this with a lot less markup. Once we figure out what the actual problem is I have a better solution mocked up for you on jsfiddle.
When looking at my HTML code on jsfiddle, please realize I setup some dummy HTML and removed your tags and added actual values which would be output by your tags. The main thing I did was remove the whole div.more-selection and instead, added a "data-is-selected" attribute on your div.more-option element. Then, in my javascript for each div.my-option element on the page, we loop through them, find the value of that data attribute and hide that div if it's less than 1 (or 0).

You'll see in the end result that only two divs show up, both of those divs have data-is-selected="1".
You can try pasting the javascript code near the closing </body> tag on your page and make sure to wrap my js inside a <script> tag, obviously. My way is neater on the markup side. If you can't get it to work it's likely a jquery conflict issue. My version is using the $(document).ready() method to make sure all the code is loaded before it runs.

ok so i bought leopard today
i installed it but i skipped that step when leopard checks the volume of your comp or whateever (not sure if that will affect what im about to say)
now i have leopard...i love it but my applications just KEEP quitting out and my iChat only works for 4 minutes and then my friends stop recieving my messages
should i uninstall and re install?? how would i go about doing that??

One possibility is that your hard drive is failing. If you don't have backups of any data you don't want to lose, that needs to be your number one priority. Get that data backed up. Once you have done that, you can start exploring options.
Open Disk Utility, select your hard drive and take a look at the SMART status:
If it says anything other than Verified, the drive is definitely failing. If it says Verified, all that means is that it isn't failing in a way that the drive can detect.

Creative Zen Nano Plus Media Explorer only works for the administrator account; for other users the message "The Zen Nano Plus is not connected. Please connect your Zen Nano Plus to the computer." is displayed, but it *is* connected and works under other programs.

As we don't use DRM'd music this isn't going to be a problem but it would be good to find out the cause of this once and for all.

Flash Player only works for the account that downloaded it

I downloaded flash player and did not specify any special preferences, however, it doesn't work for the 2 other accounts on the computer. It only runs for the Administrator account from which i downloaded it. I'm running XP professional. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

hi, i had already deleted cookies, temp internet files, etc;
i only have the IE pop up blocker and blocking level set at Medium;
it's the latest version of FP 10.0.45.2.
I installed this version a couple of weeks ago and it worked ok for all accounts (the other 2 accounts are not admin) for a week. Then, it stopped working for all accounts, i reinstalled it (some trial and error involved), then when it finally reinstalled, only works for the one account. i just tried to reinstall from one of the other accounts and error mssg said "failed to register"

Hi ol, I would go to Tools, click on Internet Options and clear the Temp files. Delete Cookies, Delete Files, including the off line content. I would do this using all accounts. Also check the history files while you are there and delete those also unless you have done so recently.
What version of Flash Player do you have Installed?
Do you use any adblock or pop up blocker software?

Trusted Sites GPO only works for administrators

I've got a major problem and was hoping somebody could help me. I've got a hundred users or so that connect to an RDS Farm. The RDS farm is made up of several Windows Server 2008 R2 servers. One with IE 10 and the other with IE 8.
The problem that I'm having is if add sites to zone assignment in group policy and add sites to the trusted zone it will only work for users that are administrators. I found a reference to this problem and the issue being IE Enhanced Security, but
Enhanced Security is turned off.
If I'm a normal user with Remote Desktop User rights and I go into IE and check Trusted Sites, there is nothing there. If I login as administrator and check I can see all the trusted sites.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

Please check if you have the computers or users needing the policy are in a group that is specified. Remember that domain users includes all users, domain computers includes all computer, and authenticated users includes both users and computer. By
default, a GPO will be scoped to Authenticated Users.
Also please run gpresult command on non-administrator user to check if it sync to client successfully.

Flash player only works for user account installed with

Hi all
I've different user accounts on my PC for me and my son.
Somehow Flash Player 10 only works for the user account I installed Flash player with.
In case I install it using my account it will not work for my son's account and vice versa.
How can I solve this?

I've struggled with this for a long time. Here is what I've come up with.
Adobe tech support recommended this:
1. Log in as Admin
2. Download the following zip file from here:
www.supportflash.com/reset_all.zip
3. Unzip this folder onto your desktop.
4. Drag both files ‘reset_min_all.cmd’ and
‘subinacl.exe’ to your
desktop.
5. Run the reset_min_all.cmd file.
6. It will open a DOS like terminal and start
running through registry
keys.
7. When it is finished it will say “press any key
to continue”.
8. At this point you can install the latest Flash
Player:

I can't recall whether I had to run this in each account or not. It somewhat worked for me. If the accounts were all set up as admin accounts, flash worked in all the accounts after that. If one account was admin and the rest were limitied (I'm running xp home) it wouldn't work in the limited account.
I gave up and reverted back to flash player 9 via NOrton go back
It must be a permissons issue of some sort. I just don't have the patience to figure it out.

I can only apply it on an existing stroke but can't draw a new one with the selected profile. In fact if I change the profile to other than the default Uniform I also can't draw a new stroke with any other width than the default 1 point. This doesn't seem normal.
Using SC5 on a PC.

Once I add a new profile to the list is it possible to put it on top of the list. I need this because the Adobe people decided to put the list in a tiny scrollable window with only a few of the first profiles showing. If there is noting in the interface may be I have to modify some program files settings?

I have a PSD file open and I added a new layer via the copy command. I have added a Layer Mask to the new layer and I'm trying to use the Brush Tool with black forground to cover part of the new layer. I'm following an online tutorial step by step, but when I try to use the Brush Tool I get "could not use color replacement tool because it only works in full color mode". The Image>Mode is set to RGB. I'm stuck!

First, show the tools optiond in the bottom of the screen (shortcut F4)
Now look at which of the three options you can select, brush, impressionist brush or replacement tool. I suspect you have to select the brush.
Edit:
The reason of the message is that when you are painting on a mask you are in greyscale mode for the mask. For instance, if you paste a coloured layer into a mask, it will be converted to greyscale.
