Combining 60 fps and 24 fps footage in one project

I've got a unique and confusing problem. I am trying to make a video that has a small amount of 60 fps played back at normal speed, soap opera effect and all, placed inside of a normal 23.976 fps project (full of primarily 23.976 fps footage).
I can hear you asking "why on Earth would you want to do such a thing?!" The video project is actually designed to be an explanation and demonstration of why and how higher frame rates look the way they do, a sort of explainer on how our eyes and brains process them, etc., so I need a bit of shiny soap opera stuff, just not the whole vid, because yuck.
The final destination for this project is YouTube, which now offers 60 fps uploads, so my final export would be at 60fps. If I shoot the rest of my stuff at 23.976, how can I combine the two so the normal stuff looks normal in a 60 fps export, and the 60 fps stiff looks shiny? If I drop 23.976 into a 60 fps project/export, won't it get choppy as hell in the final export?
I've got access to PP and AE CS6 and/or CC to get the job done.

You need to give a lot more information about the media specifications and the project properties you're using in the different projects.

  • How can I use footage from one project in another?

The best format for saving your video from one project so that it can be used in another Premiere Elements project is DV-AVI. For hi-def video, the format is HDV.
To save your video as a standard-definition DV-AVI, go to Share, Personal Computer and select the AVI output option with the DV preset. When you're ready to mix together these segments open a new project using the DV settings and assemble them on that timeline.
To save your video as a high-definition M2T video, go to Share,  Personal Computer and select the MPEG output option with the 1440x1080 MPEG preset. When you're ready  to mix together these segments open a new project using the HDV settings  and assemble them on that timeline.

  • Cutting and pasting tables from one project to another

When cutting and pasting existing tables from one project to
another, the line weights for the cell borders seem to vary at
random - some are the original line weight and some are heavier
    when pasted.
I've tried sorting things out with the table properties
    dialogue, but to no effect.
Is there a quick fix, or am I better importing in whole
topics and then editing the imported topic?

    Hi Colum/Peter,
It's not a custom table, I just need to copy an existing
table from one project to another.
My blasted developers (may the fleas of a thousand camels,
etc), just decided to change the toolbars in one of our
applications. As this toolbar appears in slightly different guises
in about 6 tabs, I was trying to update the table that shows what
icon does what and cut and paste that table into all the sub
projects I have. Each table then only needs a minor edit for a few
    icons specific to that sub-project.
Peter's on the right track. When I cut and pasted the table
it also pasted in a number of lines of HTML associated with the
styles in the other project. If I delete those lines, the table
    then appears as it should.
    Thanks for prompt response

  • Can I import both from NSTC and PAL cameras in one project?

    Hi there.
    I have a question.
I am going to start on a project, a music video, and import video footage recorded from a SONY HVR-Z7U in America, that is 29.97fps NSTC.
I'm also going to film in Europe, with a Canon HV30, that is PAL.
So I wonder if there will be any problems importing both HD NSTC and HD PAL footage to a project? Or how should I do.
I have already opened a 1080i30(60) HD project in CS4 and started playing with the NSTC footage. Is it correct?
    Thank you

Why not shoot a trial clip in PAL and test it in your project?

  • Re-allocating Actual Costs and Actual Work from one project to multiple projects

My company would like to track costs in one project and then re-allocate those costs to multiple projects.  Example: An end user would submit a timesheet against a task named 'Analysis' for Project A.  Once accepted and published, the
costs for those hours would be subtracted from Project A and 60% of those costs would be transferred to the 'Analysis' task for Project X and 40% of the costs for those hours would be transferred to Project Y.
We believe we can accomplish this through reporting, but before we go this route, we wanted to make sure there was not a logical, supported way in MS Project Server to complete these actions.  Could a script be developed to accomplish this?
    Thank you!
    Tasha

Out of the box Project and Project Server do not support this. However with VBA anything is possible. You could also use PSI to work directly with project data in teh Server db but that would take much longer to develop. Check you can do what you want
in VBA then you can use the result to spec the server version afterwards.

  • Combining HD and DV Footage

I have footage shot with a HD Camera and footage from another cameara that only supports DV. Is there any reason why these cannot both be captured and saved in the same project, and then the appropraite Clips put in the desired sequence? I recall reading that these should not be mixed, albiet I am not certain about that.
    Thanks,
    Lyman

I've just completed a small project that used some really old digital 8 footage and footage from my Everio HD7, and it worked fine. If you export in standard def, the footage seems to match up pretty well.

  • Combining mpg and avi footage

    Hi,
I am trying to pull together video footage taken at my brother-in-laws wedding.  The tape footage is .avi which is supported by premier pro but the footage taken on a Sony HDD digital camera is saved as .mpg and comes up as an unsupported format, it is also not recognised as a recording device in a capture screen.  I have spent the afternoon trying converters to get it into avi but it then plays in slow motion or is a still because I am using trail versions.  Have you any ideas?? I need to work it out quickly as once I go home in 5 days I will have no time to look at it.  I am already planning an all nighter!!
I do want to combine the two different videos so it plays as one.
    Thank you Sarah

    Sarah,
You will not be able to Capture from the HDD camera in PrPro. As Harm mentions, if you have the trial, you cannot do anything regarding MPEG.
You will need to copy over the .MPEG (not sure if it writes this as a .VOB, or a straight MPEG file, to your computer, and then convert that/those file(s) to DV-AVI Type II, and then Import that/those file(s), into PrPro. I use DigitalMedia Converter, but there are free conversion programs that do it too, like Prism. Then, you will edit, and Export as DV-AVI to be used by an authoring program. With the trial, you will not have Encore, Adobe's excellent authoring app. Still, there are many others, that work, though not nearly so well. I think that Roxio, Nero and CyberLink have some authoring capabilities in certain of their programs. I do not use anything but Encore, so do not know how well, or poorly, these other programs function.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - if the other camera records to miniDVD, or uses the .VOB container, this ARTICLE will give you some background on that "format."

  • Using widescreen and standard screen in one project.

I am making a film and just found out that about a quarter of the footage was taken in widescreen while the rest in standard. I would prefer to keep all of the footage in standard. Any ideas on how best to adjust the widescreen footage without distorting its quality?
    Thanks.

If the widescreen footage was shot in standard definition eg on a DV camera set to "widescreen" mode then you will unfortunately lose a little quality. This can't be avoided as you need to blow out the letterbox and crop some of the image to get it back to 4:3. Just drop the widescreen footage into your 4:3 timeline, double click the clip (in the timeline) to load it into the Viewer window, then switch to the Motion tab and set the Scale value to 134%. That will produce whats called a 4:3 Center Cut version of you widescreen clip. For best results you;ll probably want to reframe each of these clips to esure none of the important action is lost through cropping.
If the widescreen footage was shot in high definition eg on an HDV camera, then there should be quality hit perceivable in the SD project (because the HD source already has more than enough pixels to compensate for the rescale ). Just drop the 16:9 footage into the 4:3 timeline as before, but this time increase the Scale to 67% and reframe as needed.

  • Copy and paste clips from one project to another

i have made highlight film of my kids playing sports over the months. i would like to make one that had bits and pieces of all the previous. how do i see all the frames like you can in the events section?

    Hi
NO ! - and when iMovie moved from the 1 to HD6 series (in last versions this worked greatly) - to iMovie'08 or 09 or 11
This basic and very vital function was lost (among lot's of Important functions)
There is a cumbersome way around (most probably more than one way to do it - this is mine)
    • Duplicate the project with needed clips (ctrl-click on its title in Project Library list)
    • In Copy - Delete what You don't need
    • Share it as a full Quality QuickTime .mov
    • Import this into Your New Project
Cons: Effects and texts and so on can not be further edited as the clip-movie is flatted to one piece - If You need to do this I suggest You to re-build from scratch.

  • Version control and multiuser access on one project

    Hello,
I have a question is there a tool from National Instruments or a third party supplier, with which I can controll the programmed versions of the LabVIEW Code and makes it possible that more than one person works at one time at a project.
    Best regards
    TED

    Ted,
Please refer to the discussion topic (...LabVIEW>LabVIEW General>Topics...) regarding Programming guidelines. There is a bit of discussion in that thread about source code control and project management.
This is a very difficult subject to learn, especially when applied to LabVIEW coding, as all the information out there is strictly limited to text based programming.
I suspect (I know for a fact...) that there are materials in the works that would pertain to this exact subject. Keep your eyes on the NI website under reference materials that may speak of such subjects.
    Good luck

  • Using 1080i and 720p footage for theatrical projection

The 1080i footage was captured with AIC and the 720p with prorez 422. Can anyone tell me the best sequence settings for highest quality output (through DVI port at theatre) and for reduced rendering times?
Should the clips from one or the other be rendered and/or exported with certain sequence settings to better match? Any significant loss with this?
I also have to make SD dvds, but that's not a pressing concern.
The 1080i (Sony V1u) footage could be recaptured, but only if a significant quality improvement could be made another way. The camera was rented.
I've spent hours researching this with little results. To say I would appreciate any help would be a tremendous understatement!

The various HD files are send to me on a drive from the producer, so, they're in the system as HD. It seems that If I build an intro in HD using the native files, the nest that into the SD sequence, I'd have less rendering. However, I'll have mostly 4:3 screen ration with a letterboxed intro to the older clips. Does going from letterboxed video to 4:3 video bother anybody? Is it considered OK? I see it on the news, but not in regular programming.

  • Combining XDCAM and AVCHD footage

    Hi all,

  • How to edit 1920x1080 & 1280x720 & 720x480 footage in one project - HELP!

I just shot a documentary in which we used two different cameras:
Our A camera was a Panasonic Varicam 2700 shooting in 1280x720 (our desired format), mostly 30fps but at times 60fps for slow-motion sequences. We shot on P2 cards, and my computer says the native codec is ai1p.
Our B camera was a DSLR, specifically the Canon 5D Mark II which can only shoot in 1920x1080, 30fps. I've converted these files from their native H.264 codec to Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) for better workflow in FCP.
In addition, we have SD archival footage that is 720x480 and codec that is DV/DVCPro NTSC.
What is the best method for editing these three formats in FCP? Our desired output format is 1280x720 in the highest quality possible.
Therefore what should my sequence settings be? Do I need to down-convert the B-cam footage before editing or FCP will do this automatically once my settings are set? How do I deal with the archival footage?
I'm very new to editing with multiple native formats. Any help or advice you can offer will be much appreciated!
    Daphne

If you're heading for 720p then it would be more efficient to convert the DSLR to correct format and frame resolution when you're converting it. If you're using the Canon transfer plugin you don't have that option, but it may be easier to convert with a different tool. I'd try to get everything into the same format at the beginning rather than work with multiple formats. It may take more effort and time up front, but I think it's worth it in the long run.

  • Combine IDoc and RFC Respone in one Message Type

    Hello,
I need to have the possibility to store the data of one IDoc and one RFC Response in one Message Type.
The structure should be something like this:
    IDoc_AND_RFC_RESPONSE (root)
    --item (0..onbounded)
    ID (Attribute, type xsd:string)
IDOC (Elemtent, type IDOC <--unfortunately not possible in data type definition)
RFC_Response (Element, type RFC_Response <--unfortunately not possible in data type definition)
The goal is to merge 2 messages (idoc data and the data of a rfc response) into 1 message with logical connected items.
    e.g.
    IDOC (message 1)
    --ID 01
    IDOC_DATA_01
    --ID 02
    IDOC_DATA_02
    RFC_Response (message 2)
    --ID 01
    RFC_DATA_0101
    RFC_DATA_0102
    --ID 02
    RFC_DATA_0201
I need this data to be transformed into:
    IDoc_AND_RFC_RESPONSE
    --item
    ID 01
    IDOC
    IDOC_DATA_01
    RFC_RESPONSE
    RFC_DATA_0101
    RFC_DATA_0102
    --item
    ID 02
    IDOC
    IDOC_DATA_02
    RFC_RESPONSE
    RFC_DATA_0201
The problem ist NOT how to do the mapping, BUT how to define the data type of the target message.
The IDoc and the RFC have a very complex structure so manually building the structure is not possible.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    thank you for your hints.
    - How can I define one interface with 2 message types? I work with XI 3.0.
    - Manually manipulatiing the xsd files is what I wanted to avoid (besides that, there is no possibility to get the rfc as xsd, only wsdl). Besides that, I tried to extract the IDoc xsd and imported it as message type, but there is an error message telling me "Schema to be handled does not contain a definition of type <Data Type Name>", whereas <Data Type Name> is the name I give to the Data Type. I tried the name of the IDoc Type here. Importing the xsd as external definition would work, but that would still not solve the problem as I cannot use the message in my data type definition.
Maybe I should specify the scenario a bit better:
I have an R3 System sending an IDoc.
    The Idoc contains multiple items.
The data in the IDoc is NOT sufficient (and due to warranty reasons and company guidelines, it is not possible to add all the needed data to the IDoc).
Therefore, the IDoc is passed to an Business Process, where an RFC is invoked (input are the item IDs of the IDoc).
So afterwar the rfc call, I have all neccessary data per item in 2 messages, the IDoc and the RFC response.
Now I need to merge the data per item into one message.
This one message than is splitted into the several items and every item has to be sent separately. So I need a possibility to unite the IDoc with the rfc response.
    Any hint?
    Thanks a lot!
