Comment Summary font size

Is there a way to increase the largest font size for Comment Summaries? Small is unreadable. Medium is almost unreadable. Large is too small to read easily.
Our workflow depends on transferring changes from Acrobat document to InDesign document. Without two displays, the user needs to print the Comments and work from that hard copy. But the size of the Large font size in Comment Summaries is still way too small to work from easily.

You can't; this is set when the form is created.
But you may use the Zoom function to enlarge the entire document.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro - Comment Summary Font Issue

We have a situation involving font usage in comments in Acrobat 7 Pro that I hope someone can shed some light on. It will be some time before we can move to version 8 or 9, so the problem is important to us.
Here's the symptom, then I have a few basic background questions. The text in a Note comment includes a 'less than or equal to' symbol which appears correctly. The problem comes when the comments are summarized to a PDF file or printed. The 'equal to' portion has now disappeared! I first thought that this might be a font issue, but now am unsure.
    My basic questions are:
What font is Acrobat using when a comment is created? I realize that you can set a preference for which font to use when viewing comments, but apparently not when creating them?
When a comment summary is created to a PDF file, what determines which font is used in the summary? We have seen cases where the resulting PDF has used Arial or Tahoma or SimSun or.........
We have had at least one situation where opening the same Acrobat 7 PDF in Acrobat 8 Pro did not exhibit the problem when summarized there. Was this a known issue that was repaired in Acrobat 8?
Thanks much for any information you can provide.

    Hi David,
This is a known issue with Acrobat on Mac.
Please follow the steps mentioned in the KB : http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/blank-eula-screen-appears-acrobat.html

  • Change Help font size

    Hello,
I don't know if this is really a Universal Access topic. I have what I think is average eyesight for someone just past 40 anyway.
But trying to read the built-in online help for any application convinces me I need glasses!!
Dictionary.app has a font size widget in its toolbar, why not Help? Mac OS X wants so badly to use miniscule 3 point type for things that it is almost torture.
I would like to increase the default font size in a safe way (Snow Leopard, 10.6.2).
If possible, it would be nice to have a font face / size changer widget that would work on any window of any application, with a checkbox to make it the default for that window pane.
Thanks for your comments. I'm thinking of registering it with Apple's Bug Reporter as a UI bug since it is.
    Matt

FYI I have registered it as a bug at bugreport.apple.com
    Problem ID: 7579066
    26-Jan-2010 09:19 AM Matt Rosin:
    Summary:
Font size increase/decrease widget missing from the Help application used by all applications.
Dictionary.app has it, Help needs it.
Also the two fingered font zoom gesture needs to be enabled for the Help pane.
The default font size is too small for people over 40 and is an Accessibility issue as well as a UI mistake.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    Open Safari
    Under Help, select Safari Help.
    Expected Results:
Font in a readable font size. At least it should enable two fingered frame zoom gesture to zoom font size. Should also include the a/A font size changer widget that is used in Dictionary.app.
    Actual Results:
Text is way too small to read.
    Regression:
Would not be a problem if Safari's ordinary html rendering was used, and probably would be more flexible / higher quality. You could put movies in Help, open a two-way iChat with the developer, fill out a form, etc.

  • After a Adobe Pro XI update was downloaded (Windows) when creating a Comments Summary the text is now too large and unuaeable, how do I change the style and font size in a comments summary?

    Example of the Comment Summary

Sabian- We tried the steps you posted on 3 computers and it did not resolve the problem for us.
    All-
We have been manually reducing the font size in the comment summary (right-click > Edit Text). This makes the text readable, but it doesn't remove all the extra space or fix the flow. This is not ideal.
Has anyone entered a bug report on this problem? I entered a bug report on another problem about 2 years ago and the problem was never fixed in the product...
    Thanks-

  • Adobe Reader XI 11.0.07: font size in comments has been reduced to about 5pt with this update

    Win7 x64/sp1 with many updates:
For the last few years, I have experienced major font problems with the comments, such as attempting to make a change in a font style causing Reader to lock up for about 3 or 4 minutes.
I allowed the update to 11.0.07 this am and the pdf I was working on, at length yesterday, now has the font size in the numerous comments I created reduced to about 5 pt. I know: that small isn't possible, but that's about what it looks like.
I believe that Adobe's quality control on Reader has been grossly lacking in the comments area. It has been suggested to me that I switch to PDF-XChange.
I will seriously consider it, because, as I open up pdfs from years past that I need to use for the material I'm working on, I see that the font size in all of those comments has been reduced drastically as well.
The only remedy that I can find is to open each comment individually and "Clear formatting."
That will amount to an enormous waste of time.
Please hire someone who is interested in quality control.

    Hi Rohit Sh,,
Thanks for your answer. I have encountered a similar problem. While the font size of the comment created before the update remains unchanged, that of the comment created after the update reduce to about 5pt.
Then I tried to increase the Font Size from "Commenting" section under Edit->Preferences, the font size of both the old comments and new comments get increased. So, for example, suppose the desired font size is 10pt but the new comment look like 5pt, then when I update its value into 10pt again, nothing happened; when I change its value into 15pt, the old comment become 15pt and the new comment look like around 7-8pt; after this, if I change its value back to 10pt, the old comment would become 10pt as desired but the new comment now would become even smaller than 5pt. In conclusion, I can never make all comment have the consistent font sizes by changing the Font Size from "Commenting" section under Edit->Preferences, as it worked in the earlier version.
Please fix this. Thank you very much.

  • Font size too large on itunes summary page . Half the words are cut off.

How to change font size on the itunes summary page? Currently font size is too large resulting in sentences being cut off.

Did you increase the minimum font size?
If you increased the minimum font size then try a lower setting (default is ''none'') as a too high value can cause issues like you described.
Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors: Advanced > Minimum Font Size
Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors: Advanced > "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

  • How can I increase the font size in the Comment pane?

In the commenting preferences, I can specify different fonts and font sizes. However, it seems like those settings only affect the text that appears in the popups. How can I increase the size of the font in the Comment pane itself? It is so tiny, it's hard to read. I use Acrobat's Comment pane features extensively to reply to my reviewers' comments, and increasing the font size would help reduce eye strain.

Unfortunately you can't but starting in Acrobat XI, you can at least undock the Comment List and expand the window.

  • How do you resize the box and font size when adding comments

We add numbers and comments to our  technical drawings but we cannot seem to control the font size or the color of the font.

<<...I create the box sometimes it is 1 character wide...>>
I'm not sure how are you getting that 1 character width sometime (that is really strange), ideally, it is always 10/12 characters width.
<<...I would like to make the 1 character wide format as the default if it is possible... >>
No, I don't think it is possible to make 1 character width as default. If someone wants 1 character width, just Click-n-Drag (like you draw a box).
<<... I have to shorten it by click and drag and that takes time especially when I have to add 300 numbers...>>
    Copy/paste doesn't make sense here??
If Outline and Background color is not needed, than why don't you use "Add or Edit Text Box" (aka Typewriter)
Goto 'Tools' pane > Content > Edit Text & Objects > "Add or Edit Text Box"

  • Font size of comments in word 2010

I just opened the doc i have been editing and for some reason all the comment boxes have reduced font size (like 0.5). I cant really read any of them anymore and i have hundreds of them. Maybe it is because i was editting it in a mac version of MS Word yesterday.
    Either way:
I cant seem to find a way to change the font sizes - can anyone tell me how to do it please?

I am having the same problem, and it is relatively recent.
I teach online courses, and the students submit files as Word documents, and I add comments to the document to be returned to them.
Until recently, I could resize the font in the comment balloons (and even change the style so that the change would apply automatically to all balloons in the document, new and existing). The default 10pt was readable, but I found that it was easier to use
11 or 12, using the font sizes the student had chosen to use in the document body.
Starting a few days ago, I can NOT make the font appear in anything other a tiny font that is definitely smaller than the 10-point font. I go through the motions--changing the font size to selected text (all text in the balloon or even one specific word),
and while the Font settings show that I have changed the size, it is not visibly larger. Even changing the style setting for Comment Text has no effect on anything visible.
I can zoom the document to make it bigger, but then I can't see both the text in the document and my comments without scrolling back and forth.
I have tried saving the files as Word 2010 files prior to adding comments, but it doesn't affect the performance at all. Thinking that it might have something to do with the original template used to create the document, I just created a new blank document
in Word 2010 on my own computer, then added a comment balloon to that. While it does appear in the Comment Text style I created for my own computer (using 11-point instead of 10-point), I cannot make the text change size visibly.
    KW
Addendum: Further experimentation shows that I can apply a different style to the text inside comment balloons, and that I can change the font size if the default Comment Text style is not used in the comment balloons. I am using the Balloon
Text style as a workaround until problems are resolved with the Comment Text style.

  • Generated PDF of Comment Summary has font that's much too large (60 points or so).

When I create a comment summary for a particular document, the comments appear HUGE on the comment summary page. I am used to this not happening. Version of Acrobat XI for Mac I have been using for awhile, no previous issues in this area. Have seen this issue posted on other support sites, so not just me.
Issue shown here. Results in comment file going from 6 pages to 60, very unusable. Help greatly appreciated.
    -Dana

Ok, I traced the problem back to a single image that is 7.7mb (the background aerial photo, which was brought in from Illustrator, and is 2180x2356 pixels. I tried compressing the image in photoshop and re-importing it, but I'm getting an error that states "Unable to import files with content larger than 2048x2048 pixels"  - -  so I was able to export after converting that file to a linked image, although when I opened the html file in firefox, the image was missing (but its in the exported folder).
    thanks

    Customer [5:03 p.m.]:

    Excellent, one moment please.
    Advisor [5:05 p.m.]:
I apologize but after reviewing your account, it looks like we have already issued 3 exceptions for you to re-download your audiobooks in the past. Back on 02/23/2013. I apologize but we will be unable to do another exception for you.

that down load did not have the new testament books of the bible that I had
    Advisor [5:07 p.m.]:
While reviewing the notes, this was issued to add all available audiobooks bought on your account. I again apologize but I will be unable to issue another exception to you. As the previous advisor did inform you to make sure to back up your files.
    Customer [5:08 p.m.]:
the other advisor did not down load the new testament books. The advisor did not restore all of the books that I had originally brought.
    Advisor [5:10 p.m.]:
While looking closer, the books that you are missing are no longer available to be re-downloaded. This is the reason why they were not added back to your download queue when he issued them. Unfortunately, as we do not handle the content on the iTunes store you will need to get in contact with the publisher of the content as they were the ones two remove or modify these books on the iTunes store. If you would like I can provide a link to their support site.
    Customer [5:11 p.m.]:
yes they are I saw them.
    Advisor [5:11 p.m.]:
They may have been modified by the content owner. This will be the reason why they were not added. As Apple does not control 3rd party content on the iTunes store. You will need to get in contact with them as we are unable to re-add this content back to your download queue.
    Customer [5:12 p.m.]:
it is I just looked at it in the itunes store
    Customer [5:13 p.m.]:
the material is still the same. The store does have it.
    Advisor [5:13 p.m.]:
Machelle, if the items have been modified since you bought them, they will be unavailable for us to issue them back to you. You will need to get in contact with the providers for these books as they are the content owners and we do not have access to issue these back to you.
    Customer [5:14 p.m.]:
the are still the same bible books that I purchased at the store.
    Customer [5:14 p.m.]:
The audio books are the same. When I buy it again nothing will be different.
    Advisor [5:14 p.m.]:
Machelle, I understand this. This is what our records are showing. When the previous advisor tried to re-issue them to you they were unable to as they have been modified on the iTunes store.
    Advisor [5:15 p.m.]:
In order to receive further support for this issue you will need to get in contact with Media Group as they are the content providers for these audiobooks.
    Customer [5:15 p.m.]:
I will buy them from another source. Don't say they have changed. The books are the same books I brought. They are at the store.

You can use whatever tool you prefer - for someone already using emacs, emacs is a natural choice. Simple, easy to use online tools exist e.g. http://schneegans.de/sv/
Just upload the file in question ('Validate by file upload' option) and click 'Validate':

  • How can I change the font size on the post of WordPress?

I have found three websites which address WordPress style sheets:
    Playing With Fonts: http://codex.wordpress.org/Playing_With_…
    Font Size and Color: http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/…
How to Change Font Size In Wordpress: http://www.ehow.com/how_5469172_change-f…
Here are the instructions from the third website above:
    Things You'll Need:
    Site designed in Wordpress
    Administrator access
    Step 1
First, to change the font size on a Wordpress site you need to log into the site as administrator. If you do not know how to reach the login page, simply add "/wp-login.php" after the "www.url.com" address. Then login using the admin sign in.
    Step 2
Next, get to the Wordpress file editor by going to Appearance->Editor.
    Step 3
Once in Editor, identify the Stylesheet file (style.css) and click to edit. This is usually located on the right hand side under the "Styles" heading.
    Step 4
Once in the style.css file, you want to conduct a search for "fontsize". This parameter is used throughout the style.css file and is the parameter used to control font size. Next to "fontsize" you will see something like "16px". Simply increase or decrease the "16" to change font size. The tricky part is to figure out which "fontsize" you want to edit.
The way to do this is to first look at the heading it is under. If it is under "comment-template", it is obviously related to either the font size of the comments themselves or perhaps the comment form or the date/time stamp of the comment.
It may take a little trial and error to find the right "fontsize" to modify. Simply modify the one you think is correct and in a separate window, reload the page with the font you are looking to modify. If it did not change, undo the previous edit and try a different "fontsize".
I went to the Dashboard and clicked on the “Appearance” icon on the left-hand side, and then clicked on editor. I clicked on Stylesheet (style.css), but I have not been able to find the “fontsize” that would change my post font size. As the author writes: "The tricky part is to figure out which "fontsize" you want to edit." Some of the font sizes are given as a percentage, and I don’t know if these come into question, i.e., if I should try changing one of these to see what happens.
The end result is that I still have not been able to change my post font size, other than by using the Heading-1-through-6 option, which, I understand, is not the best way to do it.

From John Waller: “If you're using IE8, hit F12 to launch Developer Tools which give you a point and click method of locating the relevant CSS rule on screen.”
I have Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) so tried this method.
This sounded like another promising possibility; however, I have not been able to change the font size in my post using this method.
I have gone to Dashboard > Posts > Edit > then moused-over my post > clicked on "edit" and then hit F12. An enormous amount (20 pages or more) of CSS appears. I tried picking out the font size that I thought pertains to the post (under Text Area), and I have changed the font size from 13px to 24px; however, I have not been able to “save” the new setting. When I go back to it, it is back to 13px.
As a result, I have not been able to use a trial-and-error method to establish which font size I must change in order to change the font size of my post.

  • How to change font size in itunes

Is there a way to change the font in Itunes?

I've now found several ways to do this, but they're of no use to me because I lack the technical knowledge/skills.  However, I think I could do what this one says, if i could get the printed copy, or if I could slow down the video/audio. Anyway, for those more capable, here's a link to the YouTube video.

Good luck. Oh, I guess it goes without saying that I would greatly appreciate a written summary of what this guy does to change the font size in iTunes.

  • CR XI R2 pdf export font size issue

Exporting a report to PDF using Crystal XI R2 seems to be reducing the size of the fonts. When printing directly from CR and exporting to PDF and printing from the PDF viewer the font sizes are smaller. Any ideas on what I can do to correct the problem?

    Please refer following SAP note:
Business Objects Notes Get Help | Close
1220516 - Font size decreases when report is exported to PDF from Crystal Reports XI or Crystal Reports XI Release 2

Edit Print View Show change log Show Internal Memos
Content:    Summary   |   Header Data   |   Other Properties
    Symptom
In Crystal Reports XI and Crystal Reports XI Release 2 the font shrinks by approximately 10% when a report is exported to Adobe Acrobat Format (PDF).
    Cause
This behavior is due to the way Windows and UNIX, and therefore Crystal Reports, handles low point size fonts on a low-resolution screen. Text layout in the absence of a printer driver will consistently be rendered differently than in PDF.
Crystal Reports currently shrinks the font by 10% to prevent any truncation this difference may cause.
    Resolution
CAUTION The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files before you edit the registry. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
    To resolve the behavior
Set the resolution of the default printer of the local computer experiencing the issue to 1200 DPI. Most printers have a default setting of 600 DPI.
Create two registry keys to prevent the crxf_pdf.dll from decreasing in font size.
Click Start > Run. Type "regedit". The Registry Editor appears.
Create the following keys for Crystal Reports XI with the defined values:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
    Type: DWORD
    Recognized Values: 0,1
    Default Value: 1
    Creation Method: manual
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
    Type: DWORD
    Recognized Values: 0,1
    Default Value: 1
    Creation Method: manual
Set both registry key values to 1 to turn them on.
Create the following keys for Crystal Reports XI Release 2 with the defined values:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
    Type: DWORD
    Recognized Values: 0,1
    Default Value: 1
    Creation Method: manual
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal eports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
    Type: DWORD
    Recognized Values: 0,1
    Default Value: 1
    Creation Method: manual
Set both registry key values to 1 to turn them on.
In UNIX, an X server client such as x-win32 must be installed. Add the keys as follows:
    Launch the X server client.
    Source <bobje install>/bobje/setup using env.sh (for example: ./env.sh).
Create the registry keys as detailed above.
Restart the Report Page and Cache Servers.
    ====================
    NOTES:
If using Windows 2003 Server, upgrade to Acrobat Reader version 8.0 or higher as well as creating the above registry keys.
Use the appropriate path to access the UNIX regedit as follows:
    AIX: <bobje install>/bobje/enterprise115/aix_rs6000/crpe/mw/bin-aix4_optimized/regedit
    Sun Solaris: <bobje install>/bobje/enterprise115/solaris_sparc/crpe/mw/bin-sunos5_optimized/regedit
