Comments on 2 different intersections

Hello,
I have a requirement on a report to include comments on 2 different intersections of the same record but I'm struggling to get both comments captured properly when sending them in at the same time.  Here is an example:
The report pulls data for actuals and budget for current month and YTD.  Users want to be able to enter separate comments for the current month variance and comments on the YTD variance.  I inserted 2 columns to capture the 2 different comments, using EVCOM.  However if users enter comments in both columns, and when they send the data in, only comments on one column is captured.  If they enter comments on one column, send that one in then enter commnets on the other column then send those in, the comments are captured properly.  Has anyone run across this scenario before and what is the best way to go about so we can enter commnets on both columns and send them in at the same time.
Thanks,
David

Hi David,
I tested it on my environment and faced the same problem.
For checking the comments, you can follow the below steps:
1. go to SE38
2. execute the program UJ0_GET_GEN_TABNAME
3. copy the name of the table of the comments
4. open the table in SE16
I think this is how the product is, currently. I was checking it in SP05. May be it has been addressed in later SP levels.

  • Adobe Captivate Collaboration – Same Comments Appearing in Different Files

    Hi All,
I am having problems with the collaboration process. I reviewed a file yesterday and today I went to review a different file and it has the same comments I created in the other file yesterday.
    More details:
I sent a captivate file to a collogue to review using the collaboration process (file > collaborate > send file for shared review).  I choose to collect comments via my internal server.  I made two new folders
one for comments and one for review.  My collogue made comments and exported the file back and everything appeared fine, however today I sent my collogue anther file to review using the same process as above and she sees the same comments she made on my other file yesterday.
Why are the comments on one file appearing in the other file before it is even reviewed?
I can not find anyway for the comments to be deleted as a work around either.
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Amanda

    Amanda-
Have you had any luck solving this issue?  I have five *.CREV files that have been reviewed by  two people and for three of the lesson that one person commented on, all of their comments are the same even though they are in separate folders.  I also have the issue of comments appearing when it is a brand new file.  Thanks for any followup info you can provide.

  • How to create a comment form in Flash CS3

I am trying to create an add comment form in Flash cs3. I
have the background design and the text input areas and sub mit
buttons. But how do I get the submit button to add the comment to a
different area in the same flash file? My inputs and buttons are on
the left side of the stage and my display comments is on the right
side of the stage. How do I connect the two?

The user types something into a text input space and when the
user then uses the submit button, you want that same, user entered,
text to display in another, different, text area? If that's the
case then make that second text area a dynamic textfield and set
its text property to the text property of the input text
    space.

  • Can't post comments to pages

When anybody (including myself) tries to leave a comment, an error message simply says "Sorry. We are unable to process your request at this time." Is this a Mobileme thing again?

I don't understand why this worked, but it did. Through Apple support, I was instructed to disable the Ariel font in my applications folder. I had to erase all the comments (that were in Ariel) and retype them into the blog (I couldn't copy and paste for some reason). I made sure the ADD COMMENTS line was at the end of the blog, and made sure the box was checked in the inspector function. I then saved all the retyped comments (in a different font) and deleted the original Ariel font comments, published to mobileme, and the post comments function now works. Here are the instructions I followed:
    Symptoms
The iWeb 1.1 update adds comment support for blogs and podcasts (MobileMe published sites only). Depending on which font and templates you use, the "Add Comment" link may not function correctly in your published blog entries.
If you experience this issue, instead of an Add Comments link at the bottom of your blog entry, you may see a non-functional link that reads @post or @comment.
    Products Affected
    iLife, .Mac/iWeb website hosting, MobileMe
    Resolution
Update to iWeb 1.1.1 or later and republish any pages which use Arial fonts. If you're not able to update immediately, you can use the following steps:
Open Font Book, located in your Applications folder.
Disable the Arial Family of fonts in your User collection. For more info see Turning off fonts.
In iWeb, create a new blog or podcast to replace the old one.
If you have content in the old blog that you wish to keep, cut and paste it into new entries in the new blog or podcast.
Delete the old blog or podcast from the Site Organizer.
    Publish your site.
If you do not create new blogs after disabling the fonts in your user collection, you may see "Missing Font" error messages when you open iWeb.
Note: Mac OS X installs fonts in /Library/Fonts, including Arial fonts. Some software packages install fonts on your computer when you install or first launch an application. Those fonts will typically be installed in ~/Library/Fonts.

  • Why are the thumbnails on the comments sections of blogs covering the text in safari?

Why doe my iPhone make the size of the thumbnails so large that they cover up the text in the comments section of different blogs? They're mobile sites and they appear this way in safari and chrome. This is a new occurrence after the latest update.

You may have zoomed the page(s) by accident by using "Zoom Text Only" (i.e. not full page zoom).
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
    *<b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl/Command+0 (zero))
If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

  • Best practice for Javadoc comments in both an interface and implementation

For the Spring project I'm writing, I have interfaces with typically 1 implementation class associated with it. This is for various good reasons. So I'm trying to be very thorough with my Javadoc comments, but I realize I'm basically copying them over from interface to implementation class. Shouldn't Javadoc have a setting or be smart enough to grab the comments from my interface if the implementation class doesn't have a comment? Unless of course there is interesting information about the implementation, it's rare the 2 sets of comments would be different.

Thanks Thomas!! Exactly what I was looking for. Here's the JavaSE 6 version of the page you provided:

  • Issue printing combined document with comment summary.

I am having an issue generating the correct output for printing a comment summary with connector lines.  I started off with three duplicate documents, all of which had been commented on by different individuals.  The documents and comments were combined and I attempted to print the comment summary with connector lines.  I noticed that at the bottom of the first page, where there should have been a comment, there was only the name of the person who had commented and then the standard line "Comments continued on next page" but the person's comment was not there on page 2.  Its as if only their response is being cut off but you can still see their name, along with the date and time of the comment.
I sent the issue over to someone I know who has Adobe Acrobat Pro X and they did not have the same issue.  I am not able to upgrade to V.X yet so if there's anyway to correct this or if I am doing something wrong, could someone please respond and let me know?  I combine documents and print with comment summaries on a regular basis.
    Thank you

    Hi Alejandro,
thanks a lot for your reply, but I am afraid this does not have anything to do with that.
I have checked the option that you mention and it was checked. Besides, I am using now Web Intelligence Rich Client, so that option should not be a problem.
I don't really know what it is, it seems to be a bug or maybe the alert are not supposed to be printed.
I would appreciate any idea that could help.
    Thanks a lot

  • How to Edit Comment Tag in DW CS3?

I would like to customize the HTML comment tag for my own

Preferences, but I would like to change the whole tag and add some
more spaces and dashes. How do I edit this in DW CS3?
    Thanks..

That's invalid, I believe. You cannot have more than two
    dashes on either
    side, as I recall.

  • Comments rolling off the page

OK, ironically I actually am having a problem with comments that is different from the one problem that I have seen all the posts on. A friend of mine sent me a document to review and as I started to make comments and suggest syntactical changes the comments started to exceed the space on the side of the document and they now have a up/down button at the bottom of the page to scroll through them and they do not all show if printed.
The primary document area is set to have 2 columns with a gutter between them. As my notes are added the text in the document doesn't simply scroll to the next page and the size of the primary document on the screen does not change from the initial size that it is set to when 'Show Comments' is selected.
    Any suggestions?

    7.0.4.
I still find it somewhat buggy, nothing major. What annoys me is that it reacts in a jumpy way when scrolling, not smoothly. I can't use my magic mouse, too sensitive so I have to go back to my Mighty Mouse -- oh, I use a Mac.
    RE: Page # problem:
What I'm doing is cutting the header frame on the first page of the chapter and replacing it with another from the chapter pages  -- that seems to have done the trick.
    Thanks for your suggestion.

  • Two Files, Same Links, Different Blues

    So this is bizarre.
I sent logo files to my client in all different formats (ai, eps, pdf, etc).
They assembled the files onto one PDF, then commented on how different the blues looked across the formats, especially the PNG when compared to the AI Pantone Color Version.
I had them send me their PDF and sure enough, all of the blues look different.
    Here's what's strange:
Both versions link to the same source files.
When I opened their PDF in Illustrator, I made sure both versions are in CMYK Color Mode.
    I'm using Illustrator CC.
    They're using Illustrator 5.1
I've attached screenshots from both PDFs of the letter 'a' from both files versions to show the difference.
The first one is theirs, the second, more vibrant one is mine, and both link to the same .ai file which uses Pantone color.
Here's what's crazier... When I copy/paste a logo from their file into mine, their blues of the pasted logo change to match mine--and vice versa.
    Thoughts?

    J,
I believe you can sort it out by carefully going through the Color Mode, Color Management settings, and actual RGB values, of each (original) document, including the creation history of PNGs (and any other derived formats).
Some clues may be drawn from some of the other threads.
You may (also) File>Place the PDF in an unmanaged RGB document, and then:
    1) Create two fill/nostroke rectangles;
    2) Select each rectangle and with the Eyedropper Tool (Shift)Click each of the two differently coloured letters, then look at the RGB values, and compare those to the desired ones.

  • Color of background for comments in Pages

In Pages 09, the default color for all comments is a yellow background. Is it possible to change that? Could one have multiple comments that use different colors for backgrounds, so that it is easier to mach the comment in the side box with the marked words in the text of the document? If not, I think this would be a nice addition.

Found it by using the search function in this forum.

  • Comments on Dashboard

    hi Experts,
I came across a requirement that i have dashboard containing the Regional sales month wise.(this is been done).
now, Say CFO have looked at the reports and want to add some comments on to it ,
Also that comments should be visible to other users belonging to that region.
Also CFO can add comment with the different Fonts , bold ,italics and colors...
    is this possible..
if need more clarification on the issue , i will provide it.
    Regards
    Ankit

    Very much possible...
now, Say CFO have looked at the reports and want to add some comments on to it ,
Also that comments should be visible to other users belonging to that region. This is done using OBIEE writeback functionality feature where you need to add a new column in DB, RPD and use it for commentary solutions. Also, you can apply data level security for data visibility.
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/09/20/oracle-bi-ee-101332-write-back-option-budgetingplanning/
    http://www.obieetalk.com/obiee-write-back-solution-insert-and-update-database
Also CFO can add comment with the different Fonts , bold ,italics and colors...For this you will have to work with a JAVA programmer here to get a code for spell checker which can be called in the report. Also, this will require unwar/war/deploy of analytics.war file.
    Hope this info is useful..

  • Comments won't post

I put together a blog and allowed comments. When I try to add a comment on a different computer to the blog after it has been published I get an error message "We are having a problem processing your request." In other words, I can't add a comment. Any suggestions? Thanks very much.

Thank you all for your help. I decided that a blog is not the thing I need. I need an editable excel spreadsheet on my iWeb site but I don't think that is possible.

  • How do I configure an IP Printer that requires a user code?

Hi, I am using my Macs in a shared office environment where we have a Ricoh printer accessible via an IP address. The instructions for configuring the printer are written for Windows Vista and Windows XP users (sigh). I am able to add the printer by typing in its IP address, and I get a list of some printer options. But apparently this printer requires clients to log in with a user code before starting a print job and therefore my print commands from my Mac don't get processed. How do I do this from Leopard?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    DXB Law wrote:
Yes, I am aware that it is my own IT management that requires the user code, not the printer,
I only mentioned it because there are many people that think it is all "the printer's fault" that they need a user code.
and my IT management has given me step-by-step instructions for how to configure Windows Vista to transmit that user code to the printer. But it seems that you are saying there is no configuration option in Leopard that allows for the transmission of a user code to a network printer?
I don't know enough about Windows to comment on the different way things are handled. In the case of the Ricoh printers, the user code is submitted with the print job. PCL printers include PJL data along with the job. For PostScript printers, Ricoh does supply drivers with printer extensions that allow for the user to input their user code via the normal user interface.
For non-PostScript network printers, Ricoh uses either a PCL 5 variant or PCL 6/PCL XL. There are several generic drivers for these printer languages, so users on most, if not all, other operating systems can print to the Ricoh printers. Further, Ricoh actually provides the PPDs for their printers that include all the extra functions (user codes, stapling, etc) that are available for a particular model. These PPDs get included in the OpenPrinting foomatic database. That way users of any system that can utilize the foomatic scheme will be able to print to Ricoh printers. This is not limited to Mac OS X. Foomatic supports CUPS, LPRng, LPD, GNUlpr, Solaris LP, PPR, PDQ, and CPS. It would be nearly impossible to write a specific graphical user interface for all the variants of Unix and Linux. That is why you must resort to editing a PPD file by hand.
You may be able to eventually help other Mac OS X users by letting Ricoh tech support politely know that it would be *most helpful* to have an easy to use user interface to input your user code. With there being more and more Mac OS X users, I hope they will do something to keep their customers happy.
Just remember, there are some manufacturers that still use proprietary printer languages for network printers. If they don't support your system, tough luck.
    Matt
