Complaint about the Blackberry Torch

Hi there
Please help me to get this complaint into the right hands so please forward and copy me in.  Your website strangely does not have an email address for complaints.
Normally I am a supporter of Blackberry but then I got the Blackberry 9800 (torch) and I have never been more unhappy with a phone for the following reasons:
It scratches and chips easily and looks horrible in a short space of time.
Most importantly, Blackberry do not have many covers for this phone.  I travel quite far to get a cover for the phone because no one stocks them!
The covers that I do get break monthly (the front sliding section).  I have therefore spent a fortune on countless covers (I have had to buy at least 20 in the two years that I have had the phone).  I am not negligent and keep my phone in my handbag so am very careful with it.
I am so disappointed in this phone and it has cost me so much money to keep protecting it not only with the covers but also travelling to find covers.
Kindly respond to this thoughtless phone that was expensive and expensive to maintain.

I have a screen guard but it is on the outer edge of the screen.  It chips!
As far as the covers go, I mentioned that I have to find the covers and it is not easy because I have to "find" them.  Just ask your cellphone stores and you will discover that they are always out of stock.  My current cover is just not going on and I have been to three stores and they do not have covers.
Clearly, there is a problem!

  • Will verizon get the blackberry torch?

Will verizon get the blackberry torch? I am incredibly picky when it comes to phones and i have fallen in love with the blackberry torch but i do not want at&t service at all so I figured I would ask here hoping someone might have the answer.

Have a link? As mentioned, my research couldn't find anything about CDMA.
Would love to read an official statement. Thanks.
BTW, know what is listed at Shop BlackBerry, they never sell anything except GSM.

  • My story about the Blackberry 9320

My story about the  Blackberry 9320....
I have asked question's about buying a Blackberry for my Mom/Me for personal use from a few people and all very knowable in the IT world, and from one i know who uses a Blackberry as well manage there enterprise. All said it's too much phone to buy for you Mom.....
But as it would have it Mom really needed a new phone and when i saw the 9320 on sale i ask her to have a look at the phone and let me know what you think of it. She did... and just loved  phone...the feel..the size..key board..even the white colour.
So the following day i went and bought the white 9320 for her, and really thought i had a  challenge on my hands to teach a 76 year old to use the phone. Boy was i and every one i talked wrong about the 9320 being too much phone for her to use.
First off she was very happy to get this Blackberry, and secondly the setup was as easy as easy can get. We logged in to Virgin Account setting applied the new information and with in 5 minis it was updated and live.
Then came the part to show her how to text and use the phone, and in less then an 30 minutes she had the basics and was texting and calling with easy. I wanted to show her more about the use of what it can do and was told, no i want to figure it out myself so i can learn and remember. But Mom's it's a lot of phone and if you get frustrated you may not be too happy. And the answer i got was that's ok i can figure thing's out on my own, and that way i can learn.
With in a few days my 76 year old Mom figured out own her how to do just about anything wanted to do with the 9320, contact's, calendar, texting, bed side clock, tasks, making appointment's attaching photo's to texting, using the documents to go and more all on her.
I was so impressed by how easy and comfortable she felt with the phone i went and bought one for myself.
We both have had a phone before Christmas and tho it was a learning Curve (lol no pun in tended) in the being we both feel very comfortable use it.
This is a great little phone and thought i would sharing this story from these two very happy user's.

Don't put that on here, this is not where you leave feedback. This is a forum for people who need help with technical problems and non Apple employees help each other, leaving that information here will most likely only cause you trouble especially your phone number.

  • Question about the BlackBerry 8520 Unlocked

    Hi all,
    I've a question about the BlackBerry 8520.
I saw it's being sold as unlocked and I'm wondering if once I buy it I need to have a particular carrier plan to use it or if I can simply use my pay as you go At&t plan.
So far I didn't buy any smartphone, iPhone, Android and so on because I don't want to be forced to add a monthly plan, that by the way usually is not cheap here in LA (around $70-$90 per month). But I'd like to have a BlackBerry as I guess I could use, even without the usual carrier plans, most of its features (but please correct me if I'm wrong).
So, basically the question is: would it make sense to buy the 8520 even with my basic "pay as you go" plan?
    Thanks for any info.

Haha... so, probably whatever I write in this forum it doesn't matter. That's nice, it could be the perfect place where I can just rant or write anything that comes to my mind. Cool, I'll keep you guys updated. Stay tuned, some good rant coming soon!

  • You'll see the same complaints about the iPhone WiFi

You'll see the same complaints about the iPhone WiFi as we're seeing against the iPad WiFi.

There are tons of complaints about the WiFi interface on the iPhone, with errors and problems similar to what you're seeing on the iPad.
    Chris Shaker

As a retired network device driver writer, I realize that the same device driver is probably running on both platforms. So more than likely, you'll see the same bugs on both platforms. Unless we're dealing with a hardware issue.
I would guess that the iPhone/iPad losing it's WiFi password issue is a software bug.

  • About the blackberry battery or something..

    Good afternoon,
I have a question about my Blackberry 8900. Let me go:
Why does my blackberry battery run out fast, even I am not using it? its standby time is only 3-4 hours now. My battery is healthy (I've tested with my friend's Blackberry 8900, and it could stay more than 5 hours), I didn't turn on the BlackBerry Internet Service, I am not using anything, the running programs were only 5, [Messages],[Phone],[Home Screen],[Blackberry Messenger], and [Browser]. My WiFi was off, only the Mobile Networks which is ON.. My BlackBerry Messenger version is 5.0.1.41.. Oh great, I have the screen shot about the [Help-Me!]
    Thanks in advance..
    Solved!

Would you mind posting how you solved the issue? Just as I'm having the same problem and I've only had the phone for a month and always allowed the battery to drain before recharging so I know it can't be that.

  • What you like about the BlackBerry 10.3.X OS update ?

Tell What you like about the update BBOS 10.3
For me it's the interactivity and the repsonse of the interface.

For me it's the Customizable Notifications Profiles, much like we had on OS7.
    It's also BlackBerry Blend!

  • Complaining about the Blackberry hub

I just update my blackberry z30 last night but there was an error in the blackberry hub. The hub is always in landscape even i turn on the rotation lock.  But when i turn off the rotation lock, it was normal i can do both portrait and landscape.

Turn off rotation lock, this will allow the hub (and other apps) to display in portrait. Blackberry are aware of the issue see link http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB36744

  • How do I file a complaint about the service I received from Verizon and if I file a complaint, will anything really change?

I was considering changing service carriers for two of my children on our Verizon plan.  The plan was extremely expensive and my two high school aged children had very old slide phones (one wouldn't even receive calls anymore!)  I had another carrier that was much more reasonable for what they needed and they were both able to get smart phones for $100.  I called Verizon over the holidays to check if the phones were under contract.  The customer service representative asked what I was thinking about doing.  I was very honest and told my plan.  I was then told by the representative that the phones were not under contract.  I switched my children to the new carrier only to receive a $428 bill for early termination of contract!!!!
When I called back, I was told by the new representative that I did receive correct information.  Apparently, I did not ask the "correct" question.  The "correct" question would have been, "Are the LINES under contract? (not the phones!)  Now, I am trying to file a complaint and have no idea where to find the area for the complaint!  Please  help!

    AmberF
If I port back, I have to take away the two smartphones that I gave my high school children for Christmas.  (Sorry kids, Mom is sending back your Christmas gifts because Verizon did not give me the correct information regarding our plan!  You get to go back to your 6 year old slide phone, which doesn't receive calls, and your 3 year old slide phone, that doesn't make calls!)  Also, if I port back, the best that you can give me is $30/month on these phones unless I purchase new phones from you!
I have decided to write Verizon a letter of complaint.  I am willing to concede that maybe I did not use proper terminology when requesting information regarding my plan.  I did, however, inform the customer service representative of what I was trying to accomplish and she should have been more upfront with me. I am looking for some type of compromise from Verizon.   I just received my Verizon bill and it is $817.58!!!!   While this will create a very difficult month for my family financially, I am going to pay the bill in the hopes that Verizon will issue me some type of credit for their part in this debacle!
If I do not receive some type of compromise from Verizon, I now know when the contracts for all my other lines (5 at home and 5 for our business) will no longer be under contract.  If Verizon cares so little about their customers that they refuse to admit that they might be somewhat at fault, they will no longer have my business.  I will regret this decision, because except for a few minor problems, Verizon has usually been easy to work with.  I consider this a major issue.  I was trying to be prudent and check the terms of my contract before I made any changes and I don't feel Verizon was honest with their answers.
AmberF, if you can make some sort of financial compromise happen, I will be very happy to thank you!  As I stated,  $817.58 Verizon bill is going to make February and potentially March very difficult months for my family.

  • Will OS 2 fix any user complaints about the Playbook... like ...

Is there anything that spells out what fixes are in OS2 besides running Android Apps?
Specifically, I don't like that I can't access BB App World when I'm tethered to my phone vs needing WiFi.
There have been other complaints I've seen online.
    Thanks,
    Walt

Yes, it will fix many of the complaints which I have read.
RIM has not released any specifics yet.

  • Why are you ignoring customer complaints about the Podcasts app?

This app is horrible. All the iTunes reviews list the same problems. Either episodes won't download, they won't play, or they won't sync. I know it's a free app, but we all paid for our iPhones or iPads. I've seen no answers and no helpful updates. Why haven't you done anything to fix it? I'll probably be getting a new phone soon, and I'm seriously considering switching to Droid or Samsung. This just isn't the kind of service I used to see from Apple.

What I don't get is... if they don't "fix" the Podcasts app, then they must be happy with it the way it is, and think that it works correctly.  But the number of posts to the contrary goes up every day.  So why don't they put out some instructions for people, so that everyone can stop being so frustrated with it?  If it "works" the way it is, then tell people how to control the syncing with iTunes and delete podcasts and avoid the Cloud and whatever else.
But I'd much rather they just fix it.
