Complaint: unhappy with level of service.

As with what is apparently a rather large number of people, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have been receiving from BT.
My broadband speed has never been even close to that which I am paying for, or even that which I am capable of getting around here.  Recently the speeds have started to fluctuate between a decent speed asnd whatever comes right before zero.  My Xbox Live connection constantly drops due to it hitting 0, and yes, I do have the port forwarding configured to allow the service to run.
I have contacted the help desk, who are about as trained and useful as my three year old nephew, or even his dog (case in point: whilst in an online chat, I was told to reset my router and that it 'would not drop the line')  I am repeatedly told to do the same things: reset my router, try the master phone socket, run speedtests, the works.  It even reached the point where I was phoning the helpdesk so oftne that I would pre-empt things by doing this beforehand.  I was still told to run these banal and pointless tests because the helpdesk staff were 'unable to proceed unless I did'.  They're following a **bleep** script.  And not a very useful one at that.
On no less than 3 occasions in the past few weeks I have been promised callbacks from the helpdesk staff, I give them my mobile number EVERY TIME, despite the fact that it should still be on file, and a time to call me back.  I am now still waiting on these 3 call backs, each one from a higher level of helpdesk staff, I'm fed up with having to wait for these calls which never happen.
None of my problems are am issue with my computer or operating system, as I am experiencing the same fluctuating speeds on my tablet (Android 3.something) my phone (Android 4.something) two laptops (one Vista, one XP) and my 360 (running whatever the heck cut down version of Windows it is) and it occurs through both cable and wireless.  The only way I get anything close to a reliable speed is by using a very short cable directly connected to my router.  Anything over 6 foot and things slow down again.  I'm typing this sat against my front door.
No-one seems to even care that I have a problem, as even complaining direct via email (which apparently will illicit a response within 3 days) has yet to get me anywhere (Still waiting on a response from 5 days ago).  And yet, I'm still expected to pay my bill every month.  On ore than one occasion I have been promised a reduction in myh bill or s refund of some discription for the inconvenience, but I am yet to see any of this.
So it's time to complain about it in a public forum, where other people can weigh in on the way in which I have been treated.
I am in the middle of penning a little letter to the various higher powers, which will include that nice Mrs Robinson off that Watchdog show, and several national papers, unless someone can do something to rectify this situation swiftly.

Thanks for the speedy reply.  I know that the forum mods are the only employees that read it, I just needed to vent my frustrations to people that would actually listen, because no-one else at BT is actually going to do it.
Do I need to login to my router to get my ADSL stats?  I only ask because for some bizarre reason, my router will only accept my password from the XP laptop, not the WIndows 7 (I said Vista before, I meant 7) one or the Android devices.  I'm also on my third different router as I thought the issue may have been my Hub2.  I borrowed an old Netgear from a friend (and I mean old, no n-band wireless) and that seemed to solve things, but the absence of wireless was an issue due to it not having an aerial, so I acquired a hub3, which just brought back the problems.
We've only got the one active socket, and the last time an engineer came round he fitted what I presume is the BT accelerator, which I understand is essentially a permanant connection to the test socket.  In any case, I have since had the front off of the box to try the test socket (I think it's the test socket).  I do use powerlink adaptors to expand my LAN upstairs (4 story house, possibly lead lined walls, we basically live in a faradya cage, so the effective wireless range is kind of limited through no fault of the router) but this has never been a problem until the recent fluctuations.
Not tried the quiet line test, but we don't have a corded phone, so I'm not sure what result I'll get.  Would that explain a fluctauting speed though?
Bt speedtester always seems to hang on me.  I've only ever had a successful read out of it once.  Seems that BT can't even get that right.

  • Extremely unhappy with pre install service

    I moved house in August and decided to go for the fibre upgrade as it was available in the new property. I was given an install date almost 6 weeks after order which was quite a bit longer than I wanted but it was the first available so I agreed. ON the install date the engineer didn't turn up, I called BT and they couldn't give me a reason for this and when I told them I was unhappy with the service I was offered £10 credit and a priority install date which was to be rearranged the next day. Imagine my surprise when I received a text message with an expedited date 3 weeks away! I called and waited in line again to get my install date brought forward, I thought this was a reasonable request considering I had already waited 6 weeks. The call centre guy advised me that I had to cancel the order which would allow him to open a new one and move the date forward, this would take 24 hours. I foolishly agreed and received an email the next day with my new install date....... only 5 days later than the one I had just cancelled. I am so unhappy with the level of service I have received I want to cancel the whole lot and go with another provider. Does anyone know how I can speak to someone who can give me some information and get this resolved?

  • I am very unhappy with Verizon's service

    I'm so unhappy with Verizon. They offered to me "add a new line on verizon edge and get 100$ bill credit on you bill" and i got confirmed by two reps online that i could get it, i just had to go into the store and after a complete waste of an hour of my time, they turned me away. I'm constantly losing service, their customer service reps are rude and disrespectful. They always forward me to other reps who then forward me to other people. I am about to switch to Sprint or AT&T, because it's getting to be too much of a hassle. They add on misc charges on my bill.
    It's sad that Verizon used to actually be number One, now they're just as poor and rude as T-Mobile.

    I agree ... their customer service has gone down the toilet to boot. Have you found an email address for customer service(?) as their live chat to india is useless. I often wonder if they money they save is equal to the customers they lose?? every email & text update i get from them is also in spanish which is like salt to my wounds...

  • [locked] VERY UNHAPPY with Adobe Customer Service

    I used Live Chat earlier this afternoon with some questions I had about my serial number and had a very good experience.  Then, when I later came across some technical issues with installing one program in my Suite, using Live Chat - which I much prefer - was not an option.  So I called the Technical Support line.  Pushed all the right buttons and was thrown into muzak hell for THIRTY minutes after which I hung up.  There are no messages telling you to continue waiting for a technician, there are no messages telling you what your remaining wait times.  Even offering a call-back would be great.  So, assuming I was lost in space somewhere, I hung up and called back, where I waited in Muzak hell again for another 25 minutes until finally someone answered. He was, of course, very difficult to understand, didn't understand anything I was saying...and then he wasn't able to offer me ANY SUPPORT.  He told me to come to the forums!!!  Are you kidding me?!  I have to go to a discussion thread to find out if anyone has any suggestions for what my problem might be?!  THIS IS RIDICULOUS.  I don't even know if this is the right place to complain but there doesn't seem to be any other place to express my disgust with your customer service.  Everything on this site is for a specific product or Adobe.com.  YOU NEED TO RETHINK YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICES, ADOBE. You have one extremely disgruntled customer, who still doesn't have Adobe Acrobat Professional on her computer.

    Welcome to the world of Adobe.

  • I am unhappy with my customer service experience. To whom should I address my angry e-mail?

    I cannot find any links on the website in which I can make a complaint. Convenient...

    There are no published email addresses for Apple Customer Relations. If your complaint is with an Apple Store, you can use the relevant feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/feedback/
    If your complaint is with Apple Support, you can try calling the support line, asking to speak with someone in Customer Relations, and calmly discussing the issue with them. If your complaint is with Customer Relations themselves, all you can do is write Apple's corporate address, which you can find by clicking the Contact Us link at the lower-right of any Apple web page including this one.
    Regards.

  • Who can a customer contact if they are unhappy with the customer service the have recieved?

    I have been a verizon customer since 2008, I have been happy with my service, but at times when I have an issue, I don't feel I have been helped or talk to anyone that can actually help me or do anything.  More often than not its is a "wait it out till this just blows over" feel to the situation.  I don't really want to put all my business out on a public forum, but I currently have an on going issue that has been going on since sat and it is still not resolved with an order I placed.  It was identified on that day, When I was finally able to place the order (which is a whole other separate issue) that there was some incorrect information in the order.   I was told I had to call back once the order was processed, which I did in an attempt to have a correction made, which I did.  After a day it looked as though things had not changed so I called back again only to find that there was another issue, I had not been notified about.  I was told by the reps that helped me that there was not anything they could do even after speaking to a manager.
    Obviously there are alot more details which I have all that information written down, but my point in starting this thread is that I believe that there are alot of customers that go through things like this and it never reached the "right people"   At this point, my order has not been fulfilled, it has been paid for and I have been told it could take up to another 10 days before it can be processed.  I don't feel that is acceptable at all.  I don't feel like this will be a it will blow over incident for me.  If I am unable to get any assistance for this I may leave verizon.

    We are so sorry to see you are having problems with the order. Since this is a public community forum designed for customer to customer interaction, we ask you to contact us via phone, in store, social media or live chat.  We would love to check on the order for  you. • How much longer will I be ignored/unhappy with my phone service??

    I have been a Verizon customer for 12 years and have been tricked into staying with them once again, lied to, misled, and nobody will do a thing about it. I didn't want to resign a 2 year contract but the plan that was shown to me had the best coverage and the best price, so I was dumb and believed them. My bill is now $40 more than before and they charged me $30 just to upgrade my phone (on top of the upgrade price for the phone and paying TWO different plans in one month). I am happy with the phone, but so disappointed and let down by what I believe is the most profitable and lucrative company in the world. They no longer value themselves as honest, honorable, or putting their customers first. I am so let down and feel so ignored after calling multiple times to ask questions and find out what I can do about my bill and lowering my costs. The only thing anyone has offered so far is for me to pay more for getting so little added to my account. It's all bull **** and I wouldn't be upset if this company crashed and burned. They stand for nothing but deceit and sticking their hands in our pockets.

    I have been with VW since 1993 when they took over PacTel.  Always had good customer service people willing to work with me to help me with any concerns with billing and added fees they like to sneak in on you.  They were always happy and willing to take off any fees that had not been brought to my attention at the time of a transaction - which were many!!  I have two cell phones, veizon home phone, verizon wifi and a sub account with four phones on it.  The sub account is for my grandson.  I have recently closed three of the four phones on the sub account and had to pay off the early termination fees.  The representative talked to his supervisor for some time but couldn't get any "discount" for a long time loyal customer on the payoff on the three lines.  He quoted the price of my bill that I would get for the cancellation of the phones and told me he would send me a label to send back a smart phone that was just issued.  Never got the label.  Never received a bill.  Did recently receive an email threatening to charge me $500 for not sending back the phone and when I called about the bill it was $200 more that was quoted.  Needless to say VW has become quite the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE company.  Paying your bill on time and never missing a payment, sigining contract after contract, year after year, doesn't mean a thing to them anymore.  So! VW! As soon an all my contracts expire - you will never see one cent of money again!!  There was life before cell phones.  And there will be life for me after VW!!

  • So unhappy with the customer service I received

    I initiated an online chat today. I already have an HTC Incredible. I wanted to add 2 phones (not smart phones) one for each of my children since school is starting soon. I felt rushed. She was not rude but she was definitely curt. I felt like I was not able to ask questions because when I did it was met with "as stated above", or "do you wish to proceed". I was asking VALID QUESTIONS. I was trying to find out what the fees were. I was not clear on price so I asked again and was met for the 3rd time, "Would you like to proceed?" I told her that I was sorry if I was keeping her but I did not want to agree to something that I was not clear on. I felt so rushed. I was confused by this statement:
    "Aubrey: You will have an activation fee for each line $35.00 for the primary line and $25.00 for each additional line. Would you like to proceed with completing an order?"
    To me, this meant $35 for the primary line (which I assumed she meant was the line I already have... the primary line) and $25 for each line I was adding... I wanted to add 2 lines. I interpreted this to mean that I would be charged $35 for my primary line and $25 for EACH ADDITIONAL LINE (There were 2 more)... So in my mind that was $35+$25+$25. That didn't make sense. She just kept pushing and asking if I would like to proceed. I told her I do after I ask a few questions. I don't want to agree to pay for something until I understand it. I told her I was sorry if I was keeping her, she said, "This is an online sales chat." That confused me. I told her that's why I was only communicating with her regarding the sale of the phone... like the COST. I was not discussing the weather or anything. I felt very rushed. Then when I asked how much my bill would be each month, I was told
    "As an online sales agent because I don't handle billing I don't have the ability to advise you of the monthly fee with the taxes include."
    What? You can sell me something but I don't know if I can afford it?
    She told me to call *611.
    I'm not saying she was "rude". I'm certainly saying, though, that I did not feel that she was trying to be helpful.
    I felt like I had totally wasted my time and I felt like she was aggravated with me. Now, I still don't have phones for my children.

    It seems that you are asking the wrong questions.
    For the 1st question, instead of asking over what the activation fees would be, you should have stated that the primary line was ALREADY active and why would I have to pay an activation fee for something that was already in service.
    For the 2nd question, you should have asked what your recurring monthly charges WITHOUT TAXES would be. The sales rep may not have information for all federal/state/local taxes and surcharges which may be applied to your account. This could be vastly different from one customer to another, even within the service area of a single Verizon store.

  • Could anyone show me how to file a complaint with Verizon Customer Service?

    I would first like to state that this is my first time having an issue with Verizon Customer Service.In all my years of using their service, I had never run into someone that truly had no idea what they were talking about. I would like to file a complaint to save everyone from experiencing the frustration I am feeling and from wasting your time.
    Here is the story, so that you can understand the reason why I would like to file a complaint;
    My phone has always had an SD Card in addition to the phone memory because my phone memory is already tiny, less than 1 GB.I put things that cannot be put on my SD Card (my text messages, contacts, etc.).
    This past week I kept on receiving air messages that my phone memory was full. I deleted most of my text messages but I still received air messages that my phone memory was "full".  I therefore decided to call Verizon Wireless to see if they could help me solve my problem or at least educate me on what was taking space in my phone memory.
    Well, I unfortunately had the luck of being connected with a representative named "Naima" and I told her about my phone memory problem. She said she knew how to fix my problem and instructed me to click on the "Format SD Card" button. Following her instructions blindly, I never once stopped to consider that clicking on that button would erase everything. And so  ALL my pictures, ringtones, and videos were erased.
    Trying to fix her mistake she dug herself into a deeper hole. Instead of admitting that she had made a mistake she claimed that my pictures, ringtones, and videos could be recovered, She had me access Backup Assistant, but my stuff was NOT saved there. I later learned that my phone's Backup Assistant can only save contacts, NOT pictures. She knew what phone I had (representatives have all the phone's info and history) yet she led me in circles and wasted my time and could not own up to her mistake.
    What upsets me is the fact that she did not even KNOW that the phone memory and SD Card are 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT things.And also she could not own up to her mistake, but instead wasted at least an hour of my time trying to get Backup Assistant to do something it could not.
    I then attempted to file a complaint to found that Verizon makes it Virtually Impossible to file a complaint, only through MAIL! Really??

    Well actually sending a certified return receipt letter to Verizon Wireless may or may not do any good. you can also file a complaint here http://www.bbb.org
    Those out of memory messages usually mean internal memory is getting full. I have no idea of your make and model of device but there are many articles via google that tell you how to transfer files from internal memory to sd card memory.
    Now on the off chance your sd card is nearing its capacity you can either hook to your computer via usb and the computer will show two drive letters. One is internal memory and the other is the sd card memory. If its internal memory and your sd card is not full you can drag and drop the files to the sd card. However you can also get a card reader and then make a saved files folder on your desktop, then cut and paste any or all movable files to that new folder you just created. its really very easy.
    You can also remove files from internal memory (music, photos,documents) to that folder on your desktop. You can also remove all files and photos from the sd card on a regular basis to never have that low memory problem again. I always purchase the largest sd card that is usable on my device and never save anything like music and photos to internal memory.

  • I just signed up for Verizon 45 days ago and am unhappy with my service? I have decided to switch to another service provider. Are there any other cancellation fees on top of the $350 per line fee? Am I stuck with the phone?

    I just signed up with Verizon 45 days ago and am unhappy with my service. I know about the ETF fee of $350/ per line but are there any other fees I will need to pay for the actual phone.

    There are no other fees. You are not stuck with the phone, you can do whatever you would like to do with it.

  • VERY UNHAPPY with multiple issues concerning my account.

    I have been a Verizon customer for about 3 years now, and I was out of contract after my first two years, and when my iPhone started having issues last month, I took the plunge and purchased another phone, a Galaxy s5, last month, and went back in contract. I am unhappy with MANY things right now:
    ~When I took in my iPhone, no one in the store could help me as far as knowing anything about the issues my out of contract phone was having. They just wanted to sell me a new phone.
    ~When I decided to purchase a new phone, I told the salesgal that I didn't want the payment plan/Edge, that I wanted to pay for the phone straight out, I didn't want to pay for insurance, and I did not need a car charger. She said okay. I also purchased a screen saver while I was there, and a phone case, so I had multiple items purchased. My s5 was supposed to be eligible for a $50 rebate, so she started putting stuff in the big Verizon bag, and told me she was printing out my rebate form. I get home (I do not live in the city where I purchased the phone) and guess what? She didn't put in my $50 rebate form that she printed out, and there is a car charger in the bag that she charged me for, which I told her I did not need.
    ~The next day, an area managerial type of rep from Verizon calls to ask me how my experience was, and I told her. She informs me that I cannot take back the car charger at the Verizon store in my hometown, that I would have to take it back to the store where I purchased it, even though I do not live in that city, and I work two jobs (can't get there). I told her the sales gal did not put my rebate form in the bag that she printed out, and she said that SHE would send me one in the mail, and took my information.
    ~Guess what? SHE didn't send me the form, either.
    ~This coincides close to the time where I get my new Verizon bill in the mail...guess what? They added insurance to my account, even though I told them at the store that I didn't want it. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Verizon getting credited and the insurance taken off.
    ~I finally get on Verizon chat this week, and the chat rep tries to help me with the rebate form, since two other people obviously can't get it to me. He gets me the information, I enter it in...and now the $50 rebate promotion is saying that it is no longer valid.
    ~I also find out at work this week, that my company has employee discounts through Verizon. I have worked for this company for a year and a half. This is a 17% discount on my bill, and also on phone purchases, etc. I get on Verizon chat again, and try to see if there is any way my discount could be backdated, since I was never aware of eligibility. I told them I could provide any form of proof of employment they may need. Not only could I have saved 17% for the past 18 months, but I could have just gotten my new phone for $50 cheaper. I was told by the Verizon rep that they couldn't help me, and they could give me a "$5 credit". No offer of compromise, backdating a month or two-nothing.
    If you are adding all of this up, here is what I am currently out:
    ~$50 rebate because two people promised to give me something and didn't, and it ran out.
    ~$27 for a phone charger I said I didn't want, but was thrown in on the sly with my phone box/phone case/accessories last month with my phone purchase
    ~Insurance I said I didn't want (I did get this rectified)
    ~Approximately $324 in company discounts over the past year, and $50 company discount on my phone that I just purchased last month.
    This is at least $451 of charges that I have paid for, but shouldn't have...and I get no apologies...just the run around from customer service reps and reasons why they can't help/won't help me. The only person who has been helpful was the phone rep who removed the insurance I didn't want from my account.

    ~When I took in my iPhone, no one in the store could help me as far as knowing anything about the issues my out of contract phone was having. They just wanted to sell me a new phone.
    Any problems with an iPhone must be addressed to Apple.  Verizon can't touch your iPhone for service.
    ~When I decided to purchase a new phone, I told the salesgal that I didn't want the payment plan/Edge, that I wanted to pay for the phone straight out, I didn't want to pay for insurance, and I did not need a car charger. Before you left the store you signed a receipt for the sale.  Why didn't you read it?
    ~The next day, an area managerial type of rep from Verizon calls to ask me how my experience was, and I told her. She informs me that I cannot take back the car charger at the Verizon store in my hometown, that I would have to take it back to the store where I purchased it, even though I do not live in that city, and I work two jobs (can't get there). I agree it's inconveinient, but I can't see a way around it.  You certainly should call and inform the store of the error and that when you can you will return the charger and expect credit.
    ~Guess what? SHE didn't send me the form, either.
    Rebates can be printed online.
    ~This coincides close to the time where I get my new Verizon bill in the mail...guess what? They added insurance to my account, even though I told them at the store that I didn't want it. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Verizon getting credited and the insurance taken off.
    Also would have been fixed if your read your receipt.  Can also be removed from your account online with no need to call customer service.
    ~I finally get on Verizon chat this week, and the chat rep tries to help me with the rebate form, since two other people obviously can't get it to me. He gets me the information, I enter it in...and now the $50 rebate promotion is saying that it is no longer valid.
    Rebates are based on purchase date.
    ~I also find out at work this week, that my company has employee discounts through Verizon. I have worked for this company for a year and a half. They are not responsible for you not taking the discount and they never discount phones, only service.
    One customer to another, you have no basis for these complaints.  I do applaud you for buying your phone outright.  That way you also can keep your line discount.  ( or have you requested the line discount?  It isn't automatic )

  • Unhappy With Veterans United Lighthouse Program- Anyone know about breaking the agreement?

    We started on the Veterans United Lighthouse program at the end of May, at that time, we had two of our three credit scores over the 600 mark and were told we only needed to gain 19 points on our credit score to be preapproved for a loan.  When contacting them, we had planned on paying off some delinquent medical debt to help our score but they said not to touch it that all we needed to do is open one credit card account and that would probably do it for us... the lady suggested Wells Fargo for the card... and we were rejected and lost points on our credit score.  We did find a card that approved us but then also saw another drop on our score. Anytime we call to try and get direction or answers to questions, she gives us conflicting advice... and now that our credit score fell she says "maybe you should pay down that medical debt"... this is what they told us not to touch when we began.  It's very frustrating.We were supposed to at least be under contract and moving forward by now because we need to move to a different city for my husband's job in August but now she says it will take several more months... we are VERY unhappy with the service (or lack of service) we've gotten there and think it would just be better to handle our credit on our own because all she's done is give advice that caused it to fall. SO, here's my question... when we started the Lighthouse program, we signed an agreement that said something like "if you use the lighthouse program you agree to use us for your VA loan"- so now that we are very unhappy with the program, are we still bound to use them for a VA loan?  I have read so many negative comments about Veterans United since I started myFICO message boards yesterday and this is very concerning for me.  This form I signed was a digital, online form so I don't have a copy (I know, that was dumb of me to sign it- we were recommended to the program by a friend of ours who had a good experience so our guard was down a bit). ANY ADVICE?Current credit scores are now: 586, 602 & 583... rental houses are very expensive where we're moving to and we really NEED to buy but now it seems unatainable.

    Welcome to the forums! If you want to make gains in your score, my first and always recommendation is to do the following: 1) Post all your negatives and ask for help resolving them in the Rebuilding Your Credit forum, there may be some simple quick wins for getting them deleted.2) Post the whole darned enchilada in Understanding FICO Scoring: card limits and balances, loans, negatives, etc; this is for putting lipstick on the pig to optimize an instant in time pull. We're not FICO employees but this forum and one or two other places online are the next best thing when it comes to FICO optimization.  LO's unfortunately often don't know what they're talking about when it comes to FICO scoring, though your LO was right the first time, don't touch those medical collections by simply paying them, if you can't get them deleted they will not help your credit score and might even bring it down further.  The card advice, ugh, there's very few circumstances where that would have helped immediately and there's always a tradeoff involved with opening a new account when we're weighing potential advice on that front. I don't know anything about that particular program but hopefully someone will be able to give you better information on that. Thank you for the advice- I'll give it a try!

  • Disappointed with Nokia Music service

    I paid $170 for Nokia Music credit in June 2008.
    I bought about $100 worth of music, but had a lot of trouble getting it to work.
    After numerous service calls and emails, multiple PC and handset software updates, multiple backups and memory card formats, tweaking every conceivable mode and setting, and still no functioning music, I finally gave up in March 2009 and requested a refund. Nokia Music refused.
    Since then I have repeatedly requested a refund or a fix for my problems.
    In June 2009 my unused credit expired. I requested an extension of my unused credit, as per the user agreement, but they never responded.
    Last month Nokia Music apparently decided that they had to cut off contact with me. Suddenly, mysteriously, the rights for my songs all expired at once. They said that they would no longer provide support as my song rights had all expired. They no longer respond to my emails.
    So I’m very unhappy with the service. I have no playable music. I have lost unused credit that I was unable to spend. I have run up considerable phone bills on hold with the Careline. Most importantly I have wasted many, many hours over the last 18 months trying to get the music to work.
    I've also bought songs from iTunes Plus and they worked first time, every time, on both my PC and Nokia handset. Currently I'm saving for an iPhone.

    Well I called Dell and got my answer---They diagnose it over the phone if it can't be repaired that way then they ship a new monitor out and then ship the defective monitor back. This works for me. I'm going to call Apple now and demand a new monitor. If not I'll buy the Dell and sell the ACD on ebay or something.

  • Re: Thoroughly fed up with BT customer service.

    I too am fed up with BT Customer Services - they seem only able to pursue their own script and simply do not listen to what the customer is saying. On numerous occasions they ask a question just seconds after they have received my aswer to that very question.
    I have been experencing a particular broadband / exchange line problem for over three years, have kept a detailed log of my dealings with BT for over a year and it appears that there is no way of escalating the issue within BT. Follow 'contact us' and 'complaints' on teh website and see if you can get anywhere other than teh standard customer servoces number. Customer services say they are unable to escalate to a more senior person / department.
    'Customer Services' - to me a rather hollow joke, especially as they are in effect a monopoly provider and being paid millions of pounds of taxpayers money to roll out Infinity.
    I think the answer either lies with legal action but perhaps if enough of us rais ethe issue with our MP we might be able to more effectively influence what is going on.

    I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.

  • Problem with CFMX web service function return

    I made a post yesterday about a web service function I was
    writing, as it turns out my post was extremly incorrect for my
    problem. With this web service function I can return an array just
    fine, I can return one instance of an object just fine, however,
    when I try to return an array of the object I keep getting the
    error:
    Could not perform web service invocation "SelectGames"
    because AxisFault faultCode: {
    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.generalException
    faultSubcode: faultString: [org.apache.axis.AxisFault : ; nested
    exception is: coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:
    [java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError : Dependent CFC type(s)
    have been modified. Please refresh your web service client.]];
    nested exception is: coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:
    [org.apache.axis.AxisFault : ; nested exception is:
    coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:
    [java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError : Dependent CFC type(s)
    have been modified. Please refresh your web service client.]]
    faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {

    which basically means that the CF server needs restarted.
    However if I restart the CF server, no matter how many times I am
    still getting this error. If I change up my web service function to
    return just a normal array of integers or strings, or I change it
    to return one instance of the arbritrary complex type it all works
    just fine. I am still a little new on this subject and any
    enlightenment would be great. If anyone has found a way around this
    please let me know.
    Here is my complex type:
    <cfcomponent>
    <cfproperty name="Game_id" type="numeric">
    <cfproperty name="gameDate" type="date">
    <cfproperty name="Starttime" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Place" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Level" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Sport" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Gender" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Opponent" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Type" type="string">
    <cfproperty name="Link" type="string">
    </cfcomponent>
    I loop trhough a query and set a cfobject of the types above,
    then I append that object to an array and try t o return the array.
    Here is the basics of the loop:
    <cfset theArray = arrayNew(1)>
    <cfobject component = "games" name = "test>
    <cfloop query ...>
    <!--- set values to test ---->
    <cfset arrayApend(theArray, test)>
    </cfquery>
    <cfreturn theArray>
    my return type is array, I think the problem is I need to
    specify the return type to be an array of arbritray complex types
    which is impossible to do in CF. Anyone find a way to get around
    this?? Any feed back at all would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes, I have tried it and return type any does not work in
    this situation since this function is being consumed by a web
    service. It needs to be in the form of an array of arbritrary type
    that is defined in a cfc file. Since this is WSDL the returntype
    has to be specified to every last bit.
