Complementary Benefits for New Purchase Not Valid?

I purchased Photoshop CS5 Extended and was looking forward to selecting one of the five "complementary benefits" that Adobe offers when you register your product.
So I selected a 30-day free subscription to Lynda.com, then I got a webpage with an activation code and a link to redeem my benefit. But when I clicked on the link I got a webpage at Lynda.com that said, "We're sorry, but the promotional link you followed has expired."
Adobe's webpage with the activation code said to contact Adobe Support if you have a problem claiming your benefit, so I did. But then I was told it wasn't Adobe's problem. It was Lynda.com. Dead end.
I would think that if Adobe is offering incentives on their website to buy their products, that it would be THEIR problem too if a customer couldn't obtain that offer. Anyone else have this problem lately? Are the other offers still valid? I don't know because I was only allowed to make ONE choice. I guess as far as Adobe is concerned, I chose wrong. Thanks.

I think you were guided very well by the information and you did the right thing by contacting people associated with Lynda.com. You were simply frustrated that we referred you to another forum thinking, perhaps we did not want to help you?
But if you understand what was posted as not being personal then you would read it very differently.
What you would have read even though not written this way…
Rich, you know I have to be honest with you, you really are going to do much better on the Lynda.com site as they probably experience the issues of redemption of the benefit program and I don't think anyone here will be of much help we re only users like yourself.
Now if you also see your part in what you perceive to be a poor response then the whole thing is something you now laugh off as a misunderstanding on your part.
That misunderstanding is due to your expectations of getting answer even though you were in the wrong place, but look at it as Jeff suggested once you were in the right place your answer was forth coming and quick.
So you should actually mark Jeff's first post as the answer. It did get you what you wanted.
Now you can feel like the other responder and never return but then you will miss out on the knowledge and experience that user's like Jeff can offer you.
And Tai is also extremely knowledgable. So you really want to return.

    It sounds like a phishing email. You can't "cancel" purchases. You've now given them your AppleID and password, so you should immediately change your password to something new and very secure.
    Also watch out for suspicicious activity on your account.

  • TS3899 I have just set up an email account on my  ipod touch. Just received an email on my computer and the mail icon shows one new message. But when I click on mail icon it opens a page for New Account not an inbox??

    Having just set up my Ipod Touch with my email account (pop3) the mail icon on it shows a 1 for new message. However when I click on the Mail icon it brings up a page for NEW ACCOUNT not any inbox. Can anyone help?

    You might want to try removing they email account and setting it back up again

    The issue is with parameter object_schema => 'APPS' , the object schema name is 'HR' and APPS has synonym with the same name.

  • Why won't iTunes finish "checking my library" for new purchases?

    On my iMac (27" late 2009) and MB Air  (13" i7 mid 2011) both running Mountain Lion, iTunes match will never finish updating. No matter how many times I start/stop iTunes match or restart iTunes etc. I cannot get iTunes match to finish "checking for new purchase."
    Luckily everything seems seem to be streaming from the cloud and downloading as it should, but it is annoying and I cannot add any new content from my devices.
    Any ideas?

  • Message output for New Purchase Order Document type

    Hi experts,
    I am having trouble getting a Print message output for a New Purchasing Document type that I created.
    Steps that I followed are:
    1.Created a new Document type NS via customizing.
    2.Assigned the new Purchasing Document Type NS to Output Type NEU which is linked to our customized form for Purchase order display. I used MN04 /NACE to do this step.
    Now the message output gets created for my new document type NS but I am unable to display the message.
    Notes:
    -There are no release stratergies in place for document type NS
    -The NEU format works fine the other document type NB which we use for Standard POs.
    Are there any steps I have missed? Please help to resolve the issue.

  • Need Help for New Purchase - Macbook Pro 8gb & express slot

    I needed some advise or rather clarification on a new purchase of a Macbook Pro.
    I became a bit disheartened ever since the new Macbook Pros replaced the express slot with the SD card reader.
    I want a 15" Macbook Pro , with 8gb of expandable ram (Or at least have the option) , 512 video - graphics memory , & the express slot.
    I DO NOT WANT the 17' because it becomes too bulky.
    Here is what i was looking at: (15" macbook pro - 2.93ghz core 2 duo, 512 video, express slot, 4gb ram, etc) -$1,949 - Basically the model just prior to the new line with the express slot instead of the card reader.

    In this description , it states that the ram is limited to 4gb , but i find that hard to believe, seeing as how the previous model (early 2009) allowed for upto 8gb of ram i believe.
    Secondly, the link below (toward the bottom) outlines that the Macbook Pro, depending on the processor (2.66 or above) , do allow for 8gb or ram.

    I saw your post and thought I could definitely help ya out on some of your questions.
    First of all, yes - All the latest MBP's support up to 8GB RAM. (I'd recommend buying the RAM at "Other World Computing" as opposed to upgrading through Apple though. It's about 60% cheaper and is quite easy to install)
    I find it very frustrating that the 13" & 15" MBP's no longer have a way to expand functionality via an Express-Card slot. There's really no work around on this other than going with the 17". However, I know how bulky that, and I love my 13" in comparison. The only other possibility would be to find a 15" from their previous series of MBP's (they come with only 4GB RAM, but actually will support up to 6GB).
    I do love my new 13", and unless you definitely need the Express Card reader, I definitely reccommend the purchase. Good Luck!

    Apple does not give credit toward new purchases although they do have a recycling program that will get you a gift card but the device has to be in decent working order. Obviously the shattered screen blows that.
    They do offer an out of warranty replacment plan whereby you can purchase a refurbished iPad at a reduced price.

  • How can I create an icon for "New Tab" (not "new window") on the toolbar?

    I want to have an icon for New Tab on the toolbar. I cannot find such icon on the Customize option.
    Is this possible?
    BTW I tried to check options-->tabs-->open new windows in a new tab instead, but this does not help and when clicking the "new Window" icon on the toolbar, indeed a new window - and not a new tab - opens.

    You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab (+) button form the tab bar on another toolbar. It will become a regular New Tab toolbar button.
    Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

  • Check for new mail not working on one account

    For a number of months now I have been having trouble getting new mail. I have my Apple Mail 2.1 preferences set to check for new mail every minute and play a New Mail Sound when something arrives. This seems to be working for my earthlink POP account but not my dot.mac e-mail account. The only way to get new dot.mac e-mail on my G5 tower is to alternately click on the left most icons for the different incomming tray icons in my in box, then the InBox icon itself. I dont have to do that for my second e-mail account--an earthlink POP account, or on either account on my laptop. Also, When I do click on the specific in box for my dot mac account, it takes forever to load that new mail, and the activity monitor shows that it is caching every attachment that is already in my in box even though it is already old mail.
    Also, Mail seems to be following Smart Mailboxes arbitrarily. For instance, I have a smart mailbox set up to display any incoming mail from someone in my Family Group from address book, however it seems to ignore about half of these, but display the other half accurately.
    Anyone know whats going on or how to fix it so I dont have to mannually keep checking for new mail? Again, I have my preferences set to check for new mail every minute and to play a new mail sound, and new mail does work fine from my Earthlink POP account.

    If this happens to your .Mac account only, try rebuilding the mailbox, i.e. select it and do Mailbox > Rebuild.

    I have a requirement to add a new field to the selection screen of ME59N. Basically the client requires 'Per Material Group' to be defined under 'New Purchase Order. I've searched around but cannot find something similiar.
    My question is: Can this be acheived without copying ME59N to a custom version ? I'm told a particular enchancement (me590001) can be of use but I dont think it's suitable for this requirement.
