Complex formula for production

Hi all, via OPCR and OPCS I am able to set up parameters and formulas for standard values to be used in Production.
However now I'm looking at a more complex formula, where I want to keep some parameter values in an external ABAP table,
to be maintained by users. Does any one have any idea how this can be done?
Does it have to be via userexit, or is there a way to reference abap tables directly in the formula/parameters?
tks.

I need the cost for the operation derived from:
Rate per material x Exchange Rate for this operation x Quantity of material
The 3rd value is easy - from SAP standard parameter.
The first 2 values could be kept as Standard values maintained in the routing, but for
Exchange Rate should ideally be pulled directly from Finance exchange rate table so that it need
not be maintained all over the place if there are changes.
Any suggestions?

    Hi
Could any one please help me on writing the formula for the below senario.
I'm creating Crystal report Via using ClearQuest (IBM tool) since this tool is not supporting subreport function. I'm planning to write a formula.
I have grouped report by request_type field (request_type field contains Validation Defect, Production Defect, Known Defect  etc..)
right now my report output is grouped by request_type
    ex:
    Validation Defect
                         SUMMARY                                                          COMMENTS
    Production Defect
                       SUMMARY                                                          COMMENTS
    my question was
If request_type = Production Defect  display  pm_number value field otherwise display null
    ex
    Production Defect
    PM#          SUMMARY                                                       COMMENTS
    Validation Defect

  • Formula for Days of Supply, 1st RDS, 2nd RDS in MD06

    Dear Guru,
Can you share formulas for Stock DS, 1st RDS and 2nd RDS in MD06?

    Erik,
The receipt days' supply indicates how many days a material will last. The system takes current plant stock and specific, predefined receipts into account when calculating the receipt days' supply.
You can define two receipt days' supplies. This enables you to instruct the system to take the less binding receipt elements into account for the first receipt days' supply, and to take only the binding receipt elements (such as production orders and shipping notifications) into account for the second days' supply.
In the IMG node you can define which mrp elements contributes or should be considered during calculation of days of supply.
Typically for most clients, I advise taking firm MRP elements like Production orders & purchase orders into 1st Reciept days of supply as well as 2nd reciept days of supply.
So in IMG node they get X =Take both receipt days' supply into account
For Firmed PR & Firmed planned order they should be considered under 2nd reciept days of supply only.
So in IMG node they get 2 = Only take receipt days' supply 2 into account
Hope this clarifies your question around this concept. More questions please feel free to ask.
    thanks,
    Ram

  • COPA Report  - How to create a complex formula

    Hi SAP guru,
Please shed some light on this issue.
In COPA drill down report, could any of you know how to create a complex formula? My client requires the report to show the conditional formula such as
IF value field 1 is zero, calculate A
IF value field 1 is not zero, calculate B etc..
Your help will greatly be appreciated.

    Hiya,
Specify the formula for that row, then double-click the value and it provides some options. I believe you can manipulate the calculation based on that.
The best option would be to create the Value outside of the report and use the report simply to display it.
Another option would be to use COPA enhancements (using T-Code SMOD) to calculate values. Since you can include ABAP code, you have the freedom to calculate just about anything you want out here.
Alternatively, you could use Actual Valuation (IMG --> CO --> COPA --> Master Data --> Valuation --> Using Condition Records) and input a formula based on an actual value. If the actual value is something like Sales Revenue, you can "map" it to that field within the Condition Type. Assign the Condition Type to a Value Field and provide a Val Strategy to pick it up during Actual Postings (PV = 1)
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Pls tell me the exact formula for calculation of Safty Stock with quality example

Pls tell me the exact formula for calculation of Safty Stock with quality example

    Hi Devendra,
safety stock is a quantity of stock which should be planned to be in inventory to protect against fluctuations in demand or supply. Therefore it is considered in planning.
The Product Planning Details screen is mainly a planning screen, giving an overview on the planning situation for a product in a planning area. The projected stock reflects the planning behavior, displaying the shortages relevant for the planning run.
As the safety stock has to be always in stock, the projected stock takes it into account as an immediate demand. That is why it reduces the projected stock, for example, if the stock on-hand is 0, then the initial planning situation for the product with a safety stock shows a negative projected stock.
For more information please check the help document “Material Planning Settings “ under section safety stock which explain with pictorial rep.
    hope it help you.

  • Is 11G Ready for Production Env.?

    Hi,
Our company is planning to upgrade for 11G and we have lots of queries for which i've been in touch with Oracle.
At the same time, i'm gathering users views who are presenly runnning 11g on Production enviornments. I would greatly appreciate your feedback about the 11g database based on your expeirience.
Do you think 11g is ready for production evn. or we should wait for sometime to get it matured, inorder make our productoin enviornment less error prone? Every company has their own way of handling production database and its issues, but a general view would be helpful.
As per my research, 11g is only available for windows & Linux? We were looking for Solaris version for testing, any comments?
Any other comments regarding 11g on production would help?
    Thank you

How many of the user base, do you think, are early adopters and how many of those have had this new version running for a while in production? From what I've heard from around here, users/customers/vendors are currently moving from 9.2 to 10.2!

  • Can anybody give me the formula for Database capacity planning for 10gR2?

    Hi ,
I want to learn how to make database capacity planning for production in 10gR2. Here i need any formula to plan the capacity.
    Can anybody help me?
    Regards
    Rajesh

    hi,
There is no perfect world. There is no perfect application. If I am permitted to say, there is no perfect CAPACITY PLANNING. In this world, we strive hard to achieve near PERFECTION
DISK SPACE ESTIMATED FOR THE DATABASE(RDBMS) ONLY
ESTIMATES ARE BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS, SAMPLING, STATISTICS
ESTIMATES CAN NOT QUANTIFY DISK SPACE REQUIREMENTS IN REAL TIME
    ACTUALS ALWAYS VARY FROM ESTIMATES.
so ther is no particular formula to plan capacity planning.
or post your rquirements for the DB and wait for some reply

  • I need help with a complex formula

I am a current student attempting to keep track of requirements for college along with my courses that I am taking. I have two tables. I am trying to put an X in Table2:A2 if the data from Table2:B2 AND Table2:C2 matches Table1:SUBJ AND Table1:CRS. The match in Table1 has to be in the same row since there are duplicates. So a check mark will appear in Table2 once I've taken the class and it shows up in Table1. Does anyone have a equation that would make this work?
Here's a link so you can download the spreadsheet in Numbers '09 and fool around with it.

My error.I was reading "The match in Table1 has to be in the same row since there are duplicates," and overgeneralizing. I was wondering about the "complex formula" part of the request.
Here's another go—with a 'complex' formula, and a couple of 'helper columns.'
Column D on both tables contains a simple formula that combines the subject and course number into a single string.
    =B&" "&C
Table 1::Column A contains the more complex formula:
    =IFERROR(IF(AND(MATCH(D2,Table 2 :: $D,0)>0,D2<>" "),"✓",""),"")
IFERROR traps the error that occurs when there's no match.
the D<>" " catches the rows where no subject and course number has been entered in the first table.
Descriptions and further examples of the functions used are available in the iWork formulas and Functions User Guide, The guide is downloadable via the Help menu in Numbers.

  • What is Formula for 'BS' Method of Extended Safety Stock Planning ?

    Hello SNP Experts,
I have a Important Question regarding Extended Safety Stock Planning Calculation in SNP Module.
I have read the SCM Help, SDN Forums and SNP Training Course help, but am unable to find the Formula to Calculate Safety Stocks using the Beta Service Level (Method 'BS') for the Extended Safety Stock Planning Methods.
Reading the help, training material, past SDN Questions I do understand the Standard Formula for Safety Stock is ...
    S.S  = ServiceLevel x SQRT (ReplLeadTime) x StdDevDemand
However there are Factors like below that are definable in the Location-Product Master ...
    1.  Forecast Error %
    2.  Replenishement Lead Time Error %
    3.  Min & Max Safety Stock Levels
    4.  Beta Service Level
    5.  Max. Stock Level
How are these Factors used ? What is the Formula using these Parameters to Calculate the Safety Stock ? The Calculation in SCM-APO is not clear from anywhere.
I am specifically interested in the Method "BS".
Can anyone Guide me ?  Points Guaranteed if a reply covers the exact question above (I have done some research before raising this question on Forum).
    Regards,
    Ambrish Mathur

    Harish,
I'd seen these forums already.  Thanks for responding.
This 'secretive' calculation is quite annoying.  If SAP does not Publish any documentation around the Formula, how can the Customer be convinced to use SAP's Safety Stock Calculations (no wonder many SAP Customers are going the 'ToolsGroup' way of Safety Stock Calculations).
On Safety Factor (I saw in your notes) I am aware that
a factor of 2.33 equates to 98.6% service Level from long back based on Normal Distribution.  The Formula as known much earlier is this ...
SS = SafetyFact x SQRT (RepLeadTime) x StdDevDemand.
    based on Normal Distribution.
However there are new Fields in APO since ...
Is there no documentation whatsoever on how the 2 Fields -  1. Forecast Error %
    2. Replenishement Lead Time Error %
are used at all in the SS Calculation ?
Where do these New MasterData Parameters Plug-in ?
The other change now is in SS Planning, the SSs could be different for each Time Bucket in Future.  How does Beta Service Level also impact the Calculation ?
Is there a URL / Book someone can point me to ?
    Regards,
    Ambrish

  • How to make formula for the list of Charateristic values

    Hi,
I am working on Cube 0SD_C03 for the Sales and Distribution Report "Product Group Wise Sales Ratio & Sales Based Product Ranking". There I have to use the following formula.
Sales Ratio=(Total Sales for the Product Group / Its Total sales for month/ year)
so is there any single formula through which it can be calculated for all Product Groups or I have to make the formula for all Product Group Values?
Note: For Product Group, I have Biscuits, Chololate, Jelly, Wafers and 15 more elements.
    Regards
    Amit Srivastava

Are you talking about calculating them as a whole, or having 15 seperate formula's?
If you want to do it as a whole:
Have you looked into creating a new set of Key Figures for use to create this formula?  For example, consider creating a new Restricted Key Figure which would contain the Dimension "Product Group" and you would then restrict that dimension to only Biscuits, Chocolate, Jelly, Wafers, etc.
From there, you can create a new Calculated Key Figure which uses your newly created Restricted Key Figure(which is all product groups) to put together your formula.
If you want 15 separate formulas you will need to create 15 separate Calculated Key Figures; one with a formula for Biscuits, another for Chocolate, etc.  But then, from here on out you can drag and drop them into any query/report in BEx within 0SD_C03 when you need it.
If you need assistance on creating new Key Figures you could use this reference on [Working with Calculated and Restricted Key Figures|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/46/834ef375e30ad3e10000000a11466f/content.htm]

  • OEE calculatio for production equipment

    Hi,
We  want to calculateOEE for production equipment(work centre). Here we have repetitive manufacturing.
In found in one of our forums,a standard query, used for OEE calculation. Its details are as below:
    Query: 0PP_MP16_Q004
This query is based on the InfoCube 0PP_MP16 and was developed for the business package for Production Supervisor.
Analysis on the basis of the following factors is carried out in the dashboard:
    ■OEE per plant
    ■OEE per work center
    ■OEE per month for plant
■OEE per month for work center
    ■OEE per day of month
■OEE per material for work center
    ■OEE per month for material
    The OEE is calculated based on the formula OEE = Availability% * Performance% * Yield% /10000.
I want to know the following.
1.Is it part of BI or BO or geneal query developed.(As we are going for BI & BO in next phase,if it is std feature ,we dont want development)
2.If it is standard query how to use it effectively
3.If we need to go for development  should we start with Z table creation.
    Venumadhav

    Hi Venumadhav!
I have the same doubt... for me it is not clear from which SAP component this query came from...
    Do you have any answer??
I am trying design a OEE solution in SAP ERP. Without ME or MII, if possible...
    Thank you!

  • Buying in Kg and issue for production in Litres

    Hi All,
One of my client is having a requirement where they buy raw material in KG and issue for production in Litres.  Based on density of the material when issues in litres the same should be converted into Kilograms automatically and deduct it from Instock.
How can we map this scenario?
    thanks
    SV Reddy

    HI SV,
Even though you have closed this thread, let me offer some of my experiances in the Base Oil industries.
They had the same requirements as you except that when they received Base Oil from their supplier, its in Litres and when they issue to Production (as a component) its in KG for the the "Filler" to use a scale to measure how much he is putting into the tank.  Another diff is that each "Batch" of Base Oil has its own charrecteristics and the density and viscosity is never exactly the same.
    We solved this with
    - keeping the Inventory Unit of measure as LTs, what they use in when Purchasing ps: the finished product is always in Litres. ie: Kgs in -> Lts out.
    - Each bathc of the item recieved has a factor based on a chart and formulars that gives the "Unit Ratio" for the KG : LT
    - So when they buy in LT, in the Purchase Order, its straight forward. BUT, when they issue to production, the Production order calculates the Weight of what is required and prints it on the Production order Sheet.  This way the production guy does not have to go through the calculations manually all the time. The Production Order takes the Litre Base Qty and checks against the selected "Batch"'s "Unit Ratio" and does the calculation and stores it on that items line in the Prod Ord.
This has been working for them and we have modified it to suite other items that have other Production Charrecteristics Requirements.
A bit complex but im sure the concept applies to alot of Liquid Manufacturing Industires.
    Regards.
P.S: this was all achieved with and an Add-On Development

    Hi,
I am currently planning a new desktop application. Since the development of swing in Java is a bit complex part, I wanted to try another approach. JavaFX and the Groovy SwingBuilder look interesting.
Thus my question is: Is JavaFX ready for productive use? What are Sun's plans for JavaFX in the future? Nobody wants to use technology, that is dead within the next few months.
The other way is the swingbuilder in groovy. Looks nice, but I am not sure, if it is the right way to build a gui. The backend is supposed to be written in Java.
