Best Regards,

This is correct as you have defined multiple single column groups. What you can't currently do is put out-of-line columns in a multiple column group:
Command> alter table emp add (val_1 varchar2(129), val_2 varchar2(12)) compress ((val_1, val_2) BY DICTIONARY MAXVALUES = 255);
805: Multi-column compression with out-of-line columns has not been implemented
The command failed.

  • Need to individually compress  groups of clips that are partof same Seq

I'm doing a short video for the Amer Cancer Society which has both HD video and many SD jpegs.
There are 5 HD video clips, being placed within the jpegs.
I have completed the HD video editing but the 5 HD clips are on the same timeline, so are part of the same Segment (I probably should have made them each individual Segments). (These HD clips are actually edited groups of individual clips and I don't want to have to re-edit these.)
I want to compress and downscale these 5 HD clips individually to SD, and then place them within the SD jpegs in different locations on the timeline (The SD jpegs are a separate FCP Project).
I'm stuck trying to figure out how I can take these HD clips -which are part of the same Segment- and compress them individually. Once I am able do this then I want to import them into the SD jpeg Project for placement on that timeline.

In general, if am combining HD and SD media, I will do the entire project in HD.
All the effects and color correction will work better with more pixels.
If you have still images in SD resolution that are JPEGs, it's even
more important to get them out of that lossy codec first before you
    do any processing or editing.
By doing everything in HD you end up with the best quality master.
Then you can export various SD or web deliverables as necessary.
Besides, it's quite possible that your client will change their mind
and ask for an HD deliverable, too!
If you really really really want to stay in SD on your timeline,
you can select a group of edited HD clips and choose
Sequence:Nest Items to change the resolution and group
them together so they look like one clip. If you want to
add effects to the nest, option-double-click to open
    the nest in the Viewer.

  • JAI create TIFF Compressed in Group 3 Fax

    Hi people,
I have a problem regarding a tiff image. I need to create a compressed Group 3 Fax tiff file. I am using JAI, and I cannot find a way to compress it as a Group 3 Fax. When I use TIFFEncodeParam.COMPRESSION_GROUP3_1D, the file is being compressed as CCITT Modifed Huffman RLE, and when I use TIFFEncodeParam.COMPRESSION_GROUP3_2D, the file is being compressed as TIFF Bitmap (TIF) Group 3 Fax 2D.
My requirements are to create a compressed TIFF Bitmap (TIF) Group 3 Fax. Do you have any ideas?

  • Proprietary Kodak MOV Compression. Please help!!!!! Please

Im stuck you guys, Please help me. Im not a Noob, Ive been on the phone with support for Kodak, Quicktime....Ive been all over doom9, howard forums, here.....even made a post on myspace
Here is the deal put as simple as possible.
I have a Kodak EasyShare C340 Digital Camera. The camera Records and recognizes A proprietary Motion Jpeg A (mjpeg) MOV Format, with u-law 2:1, mono, 8000 khz audio.
My camera has an a/v output which is use to blow up its sd memory stored pictures/slideshows/videos onto a tv. I would like to convert and compress video files from my PC, Replicating that proprietary kodak mov compression, so i will be able to save my pc video files to my camera's sd memory and play the saved files through the camera's A/V output. You follow?
Again, ive been everywhere, and im not a noob. I have many converters and programs to do just about anything i would want to video and audio. I have Quicktime pro, super, Imtoo complete package, advanced x....to name a few. I know how to convert video. I understand format, codec, compression on an intermediate plus level. Im seeing most beginners having issues converting the cameras mov file to an avi (or something more component friendly) format, but i seem to be the only person who is trying to do the opposite.
Ive downloaded Gspot and video instector to identify the format/compression settings of the MOV files from my camera, but they are unrecognizable. Quicktime does however provide basic file info for these vids.
I have ripped Dvds, Xvid and divx Avis, dvr recorded Mpegs etc.....that I would like to be able to run on my camera. Ill convert these videos to MOV using the closest info i can find to replicate format settings that the camera would recognize and when i put the videos on my camera's sd card, the camera sees that there is a file but says it cant recognize it.
I have a Windows XP machine. I dont know where else to turn for Help. Please anyone. Someone has to have wanted to do this before.
    Thanks in advance

    HI Experts,
In the IMG activity, "Check & Specify Report Symbol", under "report symbol type" these fields are listed,
    Phrase

    Parameter
    Descriptor
    Standard Repeating Group
    Special Repeating Group
    Blank Compression Group
    Optimized Repeating Group

Out of these, we know few symbol type like 2.Specification,3.Parameter,.........
But what about the other Report Symbol Types ? How they can be used & Where..?
Regarding, 16.Comments: Can this symbol type can be used to fulfill the purpose asked here,http://scn.sap.com/thread/3334515 ?
    Thanks & Regards

    Dear Subash
I checked this topic again. I have some interesting information. Later on I am planning to prepare a new document. Therefore: thanks for asking the question; it was very interesting to find some answers and to drill down in WWI process (which is quite complex).
Ok: The values you have mentioned are part of a domain in SAP (check report symbol table of EHS using transaction se11). If you generate a "where used list" you will find some Includes. One is related to "Constants" and in one other the "Constants" are used (here in a Form routine)
Therefore comming back to your list:
    Phrase
    Specification
    Parameter
    Descriptor
    Standard Repeating Group
    Special Repeating Group
    Blank Compression Group
    Optimized Repeating Group
    IF Repeating Group
    Template
    Version Information
    Language Information
    Language Switch
    Generation Date
    Control Command
    Comments
Any of these report types does have a "linked" value. Now it is interesting to detect that this value is used as "part" of the report symbol. You can check this by investigating table "ESTLS".
Example: if you check SAP online help regarding e.g."Repeating group" and an example you find this one:
    <11BRG001(M,SAP_EHS_1015_003;1-3)>
    <01G1015003AD(P;1)>
    <11ERG001>
Now the value "11" is the value as part if the domain relating to "Standard Repeating Group".
The topic is explained a littel bit here:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/a7/2874e50a6c11d28a220000e829fbbd/content.htm?frameset=/en/c1/eda0f591ec12408b25e7a1b369ca45/frameset.htm
    Chapter "Editing Descriptor Symbols"
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/6a/8ef2639f214475aebe63d8c6c6ae3c/content.htm
shows an example of thge "IF" type like:<15BIF006(AND:01EHS_ICREPV NE "NON")>
Therefore the value of "IF Repeating Group" = 15 (refer to content of the domain)
If you check the entries of ESTLS you can detect which report does have which report symbol and report symbol type and you can therefore detect which report symbol types are used and which are not.
    Actually the type:
    Comments
is not supported by SAP (therefore If my debug result is correct: even if you try to generate a report symbol with "link" tothis value; you wil not recieve a result). But in a parallel thread this topic has been discussed. So we can hope/assume that may be SAP will deliver something.
I am sorry to say that I will take some time to "drill" deeper. But if I am finished I plan to share the result.
    C.B.
PS: The "value" for "Template" = 20 => if you check ESTLS, WWI etc. This value is used to "include" a WWI layout within a WWI layout; check e.g.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/4b/c5874174a8050de10000000a1550b0/content.htm?frameset=/en/a7/2871f60a6c11d28a220000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
and then chapter: Inclusion of Document Templates:value: <20INCLUDE("Test",01,SBV)>

  • Video Conversion - Steamclip - iMovie11

Hi, I'm trying to convert quite a few files from .mpg format to play in iMovie without losing quality and keeping the file sizes reasonable so I can eventually burn to DVD's. I have Streamclip and new to it. What are the best settings to use that will keep the quality and not create files that go from 15mb to over 100mb and in many cases much larger.

I think what Karsten is saying is that you can optimize for small file size, or for image quality and editing ease, but not both at the same time.
If these are high definition images, you should convert ti Apple Intermediate Codec. These will preserve the most quality possible and will work fine in editing.
If these are standard definition or lower, you should still convert them to Apple Intermediate Codec. But with standard def, you might get away with converting them to h.264 if you sole criterion is file size. Just avoid using complicated effects like picture in picture, cutaway, fast or slow motion and you might get away with it.
MPEG2 is a highly compressed group of pictures compression method. You have one full frame. Then for the next 24 or so frames, you have compressed info about what has changed since the prior frame, direction of motion, foreground vs. background, etc.   H.264 is also a group of pictures compression.
Apple Intermediate Codec is a full frame codec meaning that every frame is compressed, but it is not dependent on the frames around it. For this reason, it is easy to edit.
You can still edit an h.264 movie, but when you are editing, your computer must convert the partial frames to full frames on the fly, so it requires a faster computer, more memory, etc. If it did not do this, you could edit out the full frames, and the remaining 24 frames would have no reference point, and your movie would quickly become unwatchable.
With hard drives now costing about ten to fiftenn cents per gigabyte, it is usually in your interest to use Apple Intermediate Codec.

  • Aspect ratio changes when importing to FCE 4.0.1

I'm hoping someone with a better understanding of FCE will be able to help...
I have footage shot in 1920x1080 (16:9) format. I have the sequence set to any of the available 1920x1080 (16:9) formats via Easy Setup. Create a new Sequence with the correct settings. However when importing the footage into FCE it converts to a 1440x1080 (4:3) aspect ratio... This I understand is the anamorphic format of 4:3. What am I supposed to do so that when importing, the original format is not altered.

I do know what 4:3 is and what 16:9 is. First, understand that there is no HD format, none, that is 4:3. They are all widescreen. 1440 is a way of compressing the media to use a limited data rate more efficiently by applying it to a smaller frame size while maintaining the standard display size. The material is displayed at full widescreen. If you have 1440 material in FCE you have probably noticed that the canvas is not 4:3. The canvas is widescreen. That's the display size.
Actually HDV's native format is not 1920. The native format agreed by the HDV consortium is 1440x1080 for 1080i material. That's the compression size. The display size is 1920. HDV is normally shot and compressed to 1440x1080 in camera. That's the native size of the frame.
The HV20 is an HDV camera. The CX12 is not. It's an AVCHD camera. That's a different format. They are not the same, and they compress media in entirely different ways. HDV is an older format that compresses to MPEG-2. AVCHD uses H.264 in MPEG-4. Neither of them are production formats. They are both compression formats that were designed for delivery, compressing group of frames. In their original format they are almost impossible to edit, which is why FCE and other applications convert the media to a production format that uses individual frame compression so you can edit exact frames. HDV is either 1280x720 or 1440x1080 (displayed as 1920). AVCHD is either 1440x1080 or 1920x1080, both displayed as 1920x1080. You can also have 1280x720 AVCHD, though I don't know any camera that actually shoots that excellent format.
"The footage resides on my computer." Perhaps you'd bother telling us how you got it into your computer. What application did you use? Every application will handle the ingest of this media in a different way, consequently it may not work properly with this application. I assumed you used the application this forum is about to bring this material into your computer. Did you, or did you ingest it with something else? How did you get it into the computer for you to import in FCE? Once again the correct size for this material is very likely 1440x1080. That's the native size for HDV sequences that are 1080. In 4.0.1 you can have sequences that are 1920x1080. These are designed to accommodate that AVCHD material shot at 1920x1080. Not all AVCHD material is in that size, and frankly there is no real advantage to it, and probably some disadvantages as the same data rate has to be used for a largely frame size.
All this said, I'm not sure what you're hoping and waiting for.

  • Does iMovie 11 Support Editing AVCHD natively?

Does iMovie 11 support editing AVCHD files natively or conversion to an intermediate codec is needed?

    Not to the naked eye.
AVCHD is a highly compressed Group of Pictures format. iMovie does all its rendering at the end when you share the project, so to edit AVCHD natively requires that it would do all rendering plus translate the compressed frames of AVCHD on the fly. This would take a very powerful Mac, so Apple does not offer it.
Final Cut Pro does rendering in the background and does not wait until the project is complete before rendering, so it can edit natively. However, ProRes422 is a very advanced codec, and most people claim that you lose nothing in using ProRes. It also uses 4:2:2 chroma sampling (rather than iMovie Apple Intermediate Codec which uses 4:2:0) which should mean higher color fidelity.
    So iMovie = very good.
Final Cut Pro X = Best
For consumer level equipment, (like mine) you probably will not notice.

  • Problem: MacMini, Blackmagic Mini Recorder and FMLE

Hi, I just bought a Mac Mini with a 2.6 Ghz Quad Core and Fusion Drive and Blackmagic Mini Recorder (Thunderbolt). Unfortunately it does not work at with the Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2. After about 40 seconds stops the transmission, then selects FLME again and after another 30 to 40 seconds, the transmission stops again. I have an error source only Blackmagic suspected, but it is clearly FMLE. Wirecast with the transmission works flawlessly.
Unfortunately, there is no support for Adobe FMLE, there is also no information about an update. Presumably, the program can not cope with Thunderbolt. The Mac Mini is very well suited for streaming.
Even with USB 3.0, it does not funktiert because Blackmagic USB 3.0 does not work on Apple. This is all very annoying. You should make a practice test so that you do not spend $ 1,000 for hardware and you can not use them because FMLE does not work.

I own a BM Mini Recorder as well as a BM Intensity Shuttle w/Thunderbolt and both of them work on two Mac laptops with Core i7 chips running FMLE.  I have not done any extensive testing in my commerical webcast operation here in Silicon Valley, but I got it to work.
I would be interest in hearing more about your troubles, as well as from anyone out there with a Quad Core Mini Mac trying to run FMLE or Wirecast.

  • Tape Compression for Protection Groups Not Working

    Hi everyone,
We've since started using DPM 2012 R2 to backup our systems. Everything is working except for tape compression. I've read some other discussions regarding similar issues, but none have been of any help to me.
DPM (version 4.2.1254.0) is running on a physical server (HP BL460c G6) running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1. Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 is also running on the same machine providing the database for DPM. Other roles installed: Hyper-V, WDS,
WSUS, IIS, and File Services. The tape drive is an HP StorageWorks SB1760c which is partnered to the blade server in a C3000 chassis. Tapes are LTO-4. Everything is fully patched from Windows Updates.
The backup starts off fine, but because the tape drive is a not an auto-loader, the backup fails because it is waiting for a new tape to be inserted so it can complete the backup. If DPM would compress the data, it will all fit on the one tape.
    So far, I've:
Reinstalled the operating system and all the server roles on it (twice!).
Used HP's Library and Tape Tools to perform a tape compression test (which passes - the results did show that the data written during the test was compressed).
    Reviewed other similar discussions.
None of which have been of any use. To start off, I would like to look at the logs produced during the backup to see if there is anything useful in them. Can someone please direct me to where they may be?
Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. I quite like DPM over the competition, it's just this one problem causing me grief.

    Hi
You can enable DPM Verbose logging, then manually start a tape backup of a datasource that is in a protection group that has tape compression option checked.  Once the backup starts writing data to the drive, you can open a command prompt and CD to
the DPM log location and run the following command.
        Find /i "TapeInfo DriveAccessPath=" msdpm*.errlog
It should show that the MTASetMedia command set the block size to 65536, and HWcompression to true on the drive we're writing to.
[Example showing HWCompression was set to true]
    VERBOSE       <TapeInfo DriveAccessPath="\\.\Tape2147483645" PhysicalBlockSize="65536"
    HWCompression="true" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/dls/MediaManager/StorageXMLSchema.xsd" />
    VERBOSE CMTATapeInfo::InitializeFromDOM => m_ssDrivePath = [\\.\Tape2147483645] m_dwPhysicalBlockSize = [65536]
    m_bHWCompression = [1]
If you see that, then DPM did it's job and it's up to the tape drive to honor the request and compress data as written.
If you keep the verbose logging on for the duration of the tape backup jobs, it should detail switching tapes as well, so you can take a look and see if you can figure out why we changed media when we did.  If you search for "EOM hit: 1"
that means we hit end of media.
To enable full VERBOSE logging, under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager, add a DWORD value named TraceLogLevel and set it to 0x43e, then stop and restart the msdpm and dpmra services.   The DPM log files will now contain
MUCH MORE logging to help troubleshoot issues without requiring a DPM trace.
DPM 2010 or upgrade to DPM 2012 the Logs are in the C:\program files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\temp folder
DPM 2012 (clean install) logs are in the C:\program Files\System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\temp folder.
After you reproduce the problem, be sure delete or rename the TraceLogLevel registry setting and restart the DPM services so normal (non-Verbose) logging resumes.

  • Compressing a group of footage at once

    Hi There,
Is it possible to compress a group of individual clips all at once without doing drag the setting and destination onto each one individually?
Transcoding some footage and really don't want to do 50 clips individually but all with the same settings.
    Help!
    Thanks

You are probably overwhelming that little laptop.
Why not break things up into multiple batches.
Create batch. Import 30 clips. Apply preset. Submit.
Create new batch. Import 30 clips. Apply preset. Submit
    rinse and repeat.
After one batch is complete, compressor will start in on the next.
It will still finish in the same period of time and you won't have the crashing from the thumbnail problem (my quess).

  • How to enable SOAP compression in web services

Hi, I have created a web services by exposing an EJB using annotations. Trouble now is that the output is an array of Objects which grew to a significant size to cause latency issue. I have saw folks using filters to compress the HTTP response but is unable to find much resources on the web linking up annotated-EJB web services to link up with the filters but most of the examples I see are based on handlers and not EJB-exposed web services, can someone point me to some resources for that type of web services + compression?
Another thing which caught my attention is the use of the <compress-html-template> tag which needs to be in the web.xml file, but since I am using a "generated" web services as per say, I do not have that web.xml file, how then can I use that feature?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Anke,
all tables that have been created in V9.7 with attribute COMPRESS YES will be compressed statically .
    db2 " select count(*) , rowcompmode from syscat.tables group by rowcompmode "
After the upgrade to 10.5 all tables created with attribute COMPRESS YES will get rowcompmode='A' but old tables created with V9.7 will stay with rowcompmode='S' .
You can change tables from  rowcompmode='S' to rowcompmode='A' via  ALTER TABLE . After this all new pages or old pages that are touched will be adaptively compressed. But old pages that are not touched will only be static compressed. To get all pages of an existinbg table adaptive compressed you need to move data. For example with DB6CONV.
    Regards

Furthermore, a space analysis of this index using dbms_space.space_usage gives the following picture
Number of blocks with at least 0 to 25% free space            = 0                   -------> total bytes = 0

So let me continue my case
I first compressed the index as follows
alter index my_index rebuild compress 2;which immediately presents two new situations
    (a) index space
Number of blocks with at least 0 to 25% free space    = 0                -------> total bytes = 0
Number of blocks with at least 25-50% free space      = 40              -------> total bytes =, 3125
Number of Blocks with at least 50 to 75% free space   = 0                -------> total Bytes = 0
Number of blocks with at least 75 to 100% free space  = 0                -------> total bytes = 0
Number of full blocks with no free space                = 32361           -------> total bytes = 252, 8203125
    Total blocks ______________________________
    32401
    Total size Mb______________________________
259,208meaning that the compress command freed up 67487 leaf blocks and reduced the size of the index from to 799,384 MB to 259,208 MB.
It also shows a relative nice pictue of number of keys per leaf block (when compared to the previous situation)
    (b) on the number of key per leaf block
    KEYS_PER_LEAF     BLOCKS
    4     1
    6     1
    13     1
    15     1
    25     1
    62     1
    63     1
    88     1
    97     1
    122     1
    123     3
    124     6
    125     4
    126     2
    289     4489
    290     3887
    291     3129
    292     2273
    293     1528
    294     913
    295     442
    296     152
    297     50
    298     7
299     1      In a second step, I have coalesced the index as follows
alter index my_index coalesce;which produces the new figure
Number of blocks with at least 0 to 25% free space     = 0          -------> total bytes = 0
Number of blocks with at least 25-50% free space      = 298        -------> total bytes = 2,328125
Number of Blocks with at least 50 to 75% free space   = 0           -------> Total Bytes = 0
Number of blocks with at least 75 to 100% free space = 0            -------> total bytes = 0
Number of full blocks with no free space = 32375                    -------> total bytes = 252, 9296875
    Total blocks ______________________________
    32673
    Total size MB______________________________
261,384meaning the the coalesce command has made
    (a)     298-40 = 258 new blocks with 25-50% of free space
    (b)     32375-32361 = 14 new additional blocks which have been made full
    (c)     The size of the index increased by 2,176MB (261,384-259,208)
While the number of key per leaf block keeps in the same situation
    KEYS_PER_LEAF     BLOCKS
    4     2
    5     3
    9     1
    10     2

    85     1
    88     1
    122     1
    123     4
    124     4
    125     3
    126     1
    289     4492
    290     3887
    291     3125

    294     913
    295     441
    296     152
    297     50
    298     7
299     1      Could you please through some light on the difference between the compress and the coalesce on the effect they have made on
    (a) the number of keys per leaf blocks within my index
    (b) the space and size of my index?

  • Lync 2013 Front End SIP/2.0 500 Compression algorithm refused

I've deployed a brand new Lync 2013 environment hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2 that is currently in co-existence mode with my Lync 2010 environment.
I have SCOM 2012 monitoring the environment and it recently started reporting that one or more of my front end servers
was in a critical state.  Diving into it revealed the following perf counter threshold was being tripped:
    Time Sampled: 3/26/2014 2:33:30 PM

The only recent change made to the front end servers was making the registry change outlined in this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2901554/en-us so i'm wondering if that has something to do with it.

The MSFT support person said to re-apply CU5 to the Director servers and reboot.  Since this is impactful to the environment and I would have to do reboots anyway, I opted to go the route of installing the more recent update so....
Last weekend I updated my Lync environment with what I think is considered CU6, the September 2014 updates for Lync 2013 Server (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2809243) and still no luck. The front
end servers are fine; no excess SIP 500 errors occurring there but within 30 minutes of removing the SCOM override on the Director servers the alerts started firing again.
I reinstated the override in SCOM for the Directors and had my case with Premier support un-archived.  The MSFT support person said if the alerts didn't go away she was going to have to engage the Lync product group for help.  We'll see where it
    goes from here.

  • SSL VPN Group-Lock problem

    Hi,
I am trying to lock groups to a specific tunnel group but unfortunitly no matter what I do the group-lock feature doesnt seem to work. Basically here is what I want to do:
1-Users detail is pulled from AD through LDAP
2-AD group is mapped to the appropriate group on the ASA using attribute mapping
3-user should only use the tunnel that he/she is locked to
4-this all should be done without the user needing to select a group the vpn portal
5-we will be using Any connect and VPN portal for communication
All works fine except the group-lock feature. If enabled and set to "group-lock value NET_ADMIN_G" I get the following error on debug webvpn and the user is not allowed in.
