Computer wont recognize iPhone 3G

So situation is as follows. READ VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE RESPONDING!!!!
So i got iPhone 3g from a finnish Apple forum and it worked perfectly untill today. I tried to re-install the phone and i got 1600 error on iTunes, and phone got stuck on DFU mode. So i took the phone out of my PC and plugged it back in, but nothing happend. My computer wont even play the sound when i connect new device and my Power/Sleep button is broken on that iPhone. Is there any way to force it to work or should i just get new phone? (It will like 250-300 euros on my operator *** i know?!!?) I think the phone is still on so should i wait the battery run out or what? Any succestions? And i have tried all my other PC's. But before it did this, my PC warned about some slow USB when reseting iPhone software. So i did something wrong or is it phone fault? Please help me this is my first iPhone. iOS is 4.2.1

sad.  Thanks for sharing, though.

  • Computer wont recognize iphone as a camera or device

    Any suggestions for this?

    shaunie07,
First, does the iPhone have a charge on the battery, as discussed in this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305742
What other USB devices are currently connected to the computer, if any?
Have you tried shutting down the computer, and leaving it powered off for at least 30 seconds, then restart it and try connecting the iPhone?
Try reseting the iPhone by holding down the sleep/wake and home buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignore the "Slide to Power off" screen?
Both of the previous steps could be done simultaneously. Shut down the computer, reset the iPhone, and then turn the computer back on.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Computer wont recognize Iphone 4s

I have a iphone 4s and for the past few months my computer doesnt seem to be recognizing it. I have a feeling its the phone itself. When i plug it into my computer it charges but it doesnt show up in any files or in itunes. I have tried this with 2 other computers and its the same thing. Nothing about it shows up in the Device Manager. All i have on my computer that deals with apple is Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update. I tried with one of the helps here online and i couldnt even find Other Devices in the Device Manager. Can anyone help is it my computer or is it the phone itself? im thinking of taking it to a apple store to get it looked at but im not sure if it will cost me or not.

Ya that's the exact same that's going on with mine. I tried going through my entire computer i think I even reset my phone cause all my music got wiped off.

  • Itunes/computer wont recognize iphone 5s

I just recently bought a used iPhone 5s and tried to plug it into my mac book so I can sync the phone to my iTunes, but the phone is not even recognized when plugged in. I updated my iTunes and tried restarting the phone and computer to see if that would help, but still nothing. When I plug the phone in a message pops up, "This cable or accessory is not certified and my not work reliably with this iPhone" but it is the original cable the phone came with. The cable itself works while being plugged into the wall outlet. Any suggestions to fix this ?

    Hello there ChristinaGabri,
If your phone is still not recognized in iTunes because of this error message, I would take a look at this info from the following article:
If you can’t charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    If you see an alert
When you plug in your device, you might see one of these alerts:
“This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone.”
“This accessory is not supported by this device.”
If you see one of these alerts, unplug your device try and these steps:
Look at the connector at the bottom of your device and make sure it’s free of debris, then reconnect the USB cable.
If you still see an alert, try a different USB cable or charger.
    Get more help
If your device still doesn't charge or you still see an alert after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

i left a dvd in my macbook pro for a while and now my computer wont recognize that there is even a disk in there, nor will it eject it. how do i get the dvd out?

Hold down the mouse button or trackpad clicker as you start up.
If no joy, restart and hold the Option key. This brings up the Startup Manager, which will draw an Icon for each bootable Volume. When all are drawn, the Eject key is "live".

  • Computer wont recognize voice commands

I have been trying to calibrate my computer for voice commands, even when I am able to say the command examples and get my voice to the green but try for real my computer wont recognize any or most of my commands in any way either by holding a key down or saying a key word before commanding. I have an oklahoma accent but still my accent is not heavy. Any solutions?

In the Speakable Items window, click on the purple circle w/the black "?" mark in the middle. That is a Help button.
If you do not find a solution on the window that opens, make sure you click on the links at the bottom of the window:
*Adapting speech recognition to your environment*
*Using spoken commands to control your computer*
Consider updating your OS to the last Leopard version which I believe is OS 10.5.8. Your current OS is outdated.

  • Computer wont recognize second hard drive in target disk mode

I've had trouble installing Leopard on my iMac (read this for full details: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1196525&tstart=0)
Long story short, I tried to hook up the iMac to my computer, starting it (the iMac) up in Target Disk Mode, in order to save some files before restoring the hd, but my computer wont recognize the iMac hd when it's connected. Is there any way to save these very important files?

Because the drive might not be the only thing that isn't working, it could be your logic board or something else. Removing the drive will isolate it and allow you to see whether your data is recoverable without having to worry about what else is failing on the iMac.

  • Computer at work, wont recognize Iphone.

Hello, I have 1.9Ghz Power PC G5 at work with the latest Itunes and all available updates as of 9/16/09. (OS = 10.4.11).
My iphone 3gs works fine otherwise but when I try to plug it in via USB/Synch cable at work, the computer just doesn't recognize. It used to work until recently. I tried restarting the computer with the iphone plugged in and there was a quick vibrate/recognition when it first turned on but then back to the unrecognizable status. I'm not trying to synch, just trying to charge the phone. It used to work and sometimes when I disconnect the usb I get the device removal warning (which leads me to believe there is some recognition.
Any ideas...I've tried the cable on another mac in my office and I know its working.

Try reinstalling iTunes (don't delete the current one, just download and reinstall, even if it's the same version. If that fails, remove and reinstall AMDS:

  • Computer wont recognize iphone4

I recentley purchased a new HP laptop with windows 7 on it. When i plug my iphone 4s into it, the computer wont recognized it, it just keeps making the noise like something is being plugged in over and over. When i plug in my girlfriends iphone 5 the computer recognizes it right away. I have tried all the usa ports on the laptop and multiple USB cords. any advice will help. thanks

Yes the latest version is installed. And when I plug my iphone 5 in iTunes will pop up and try and sync. But when I plug in an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S the computer or iTunes will not recognize it. With different USB ports and different usb plugs.
    Thanks

Are you running the current iTunes version (11.0.1)?
If you are, then this should help:

  • Computer wont recognize 10GB Ipod Gen 3 - Please Help

Alright, Im not an idiot and I read every post related to this subject. I reviewed each of the following links and did everything they told me to do:

I recently upgraded to the newest iTunes version and now my older Ipod is no longer recognized by my computer. iTunes doesnt open, it just gives me an error message in the bottom right corner saying Unknown Device. Ive tried looking for / updating drivers, reseting, everything and nothing works. I tried every USB port on my laptop as well. Running Win XP. Can anyone offer any other suggestions on how i can fix this???
    Thanks

Its been working perfectly for 4 years until last week. I have the USB/FireWire combo for hooking it up to my computer. It worked with all the older version of iTunes and now that 7.1.1 is on there, it wont recognize it at all. The computer is convinced there are no drivers for the "unknown device" and all searches performed for the missing drivers come up empty. The computer cannot see the iPod as an iPod, and none of this happened until I downloaded the most recent iTunes.
