Conditional image visibility in DiAdem Report

Does anyone know of a way to make an image conditionally visible in a report in DiAdem?
What I would like to do is display a certain .jpg image on the report based on a property of a data file loaded in the portal.  I am creating a generic report structure that actively changes based on what file is loaded in the data portal.
Has anyone ever tried this or even wanted to?

Brad, This is how the code looks in my script:
'------------------- Graphic --------------------------
Call GraphObjOpen("Metafile1")
MtaFileName = filelocation
MtaPosX = 83.17
MtaPosY = 97.99
MtaRelPos = "r-bot."
MtaWidth = 12
MtaHeight = 12
MtaRatioAdapt = 1
MtaEmbedded = 0
Call GraphObjClose("Metafile1")
Where "filelocation" = path and file name of the desired image.
When I run the code in the Script window, everything works fine, and the image changes to the appropriate file.  When I run the script as part of the refresh cycle in the TDR, It tells me that there is an error "refreshing the graphic".

  • DIAdem Report express VI works only with a single sheet template??

    Hi,
    I'm very new to Diadem and I'm using the 2011 evaluation version to try a report generation of LabView data (2013 version, evaluation also). I'm using the "DIAdem Report" express VI to generate a 2 pages, quite simple report; the first page has to contain some pictures and free text to be compiled with Labview strings, and the second page has to show an XY chart. The goal is to export in PDF file format.
    Creating two separates TDR report models for each page and calling two instances of the DIAdem Report, the report is generated correctly with the expected value in two separate pdf files. If I'm using a report template with the two previous pages loaded in two sheets, the text value and the XY data are not loaded in the PDF file, causing a two pages empty export (only images, default text and chart border are visible).
    I'm missing something? Attached a TDR file that reproduce the malfunction.
    Many thanks in advance.

    When I have a report that has multiple pages  (Over 5)  I like to use one tdr file for each of the pages, and then use the report append feature to make a resulting tdr and then a PDF.
    (Search for report appending)
    I make one cover tdr and one summary.tdr file, and then work to try to make the other sheets as reusable as possible.  That way I can build each resulting large TDR from a appending of as many smaller tdr files as needed. This really cuts down on the maintenance time for reports, and results in large PDF at the end, so the users do not know the difference.

  • Conditional image and image source in SSRS

    I have images stored in database for some of the items but not for the others. If there is no image in the database I would like to display static placeholder image embedded in the report.
    Is there a way to achieve that? The problem I experience is that there is no way to specify expression for Image Source. I tried to use expressions for Value field (when Image Source is set to Database) to specify the name for embedded image depending on
    condition but nothing I tried worked.

    If your image is embedded in a tablix then, yes, you are sourced to a single dataset. However the Lookup function pulls in "related" data from another dataset. Related is in quotes because there are ways to fool it. The syntax is:
    =Lookup(index_current_dataset, index_other_dataset,field_to_get_from_other_dataset, other_dataset_name)
    If you have a second dataset, "Second", that returns a single column, "Picture", that is your default image, you can retrieve that image using lookupset as follows:
    =Lookup(1,1,Fields!Picture.Value,"Second")
    the 1,1 is used to fool the lookup expression. Since 1 will always match 1, it will return everything in the dataset, which is the single image. Throw that into a logical check (IIf) and you get:
    =IIf(IsNothing(Fields!RelatedImage.Value), Lookup(1,1,Fields!Picture.Value,"Second"), Fields!RelatedImage.Value)
    That said Andre's approach should work also. the example may be for embedded but the principle should work for db as well since you can set a formula for visibility. Yours is in a tablix so it will require some tweaks.
    In the cell where the image will be embedded, first add a rectangle. The rectangle will allow you to add 2 images to the cell. Add your default image and set its source to whatever you like. It can even be an embedded image. Now add a second image and set
    it to your database image field. In the visibility property of each image set it show or hide based on an expression:
    default image expression: =IIf(IsNothing(Fields!Image.Value),false,true)
    db image expression: =IIf(IsNothing(Fields!Image.Value),true,false)
    You will want to set the cell width/height so it is equal or smaller than 1 image in design view. A table cell can grow bigger at runtime to accommodate more content but not smaller. Because of this, you need to set the design-time cell height and width
    equal or smaller than a single image.
    The advantage of this approach is that the default image does not need to come from a dataset like with my suggestion.

  • Conditional display in a SQL-Report/Report Region

    Hi,
    here I have an example for "Conditional display in a SQL-Report/Report Region". I figured it out in Firefox 3.6.2 using Firebug as development tool on Apex 3.2.1.00.12.
    First you have to put the following javascript code in the Page HTML-Header:
    <script type="text/javascript">

    </script>
    Maybe you have to modify the "vd_getBody" function. I'm searching the table cell with having the class "t10data". When you use another theme, there's maybe another class used.
    Second is, that you set an static id for your report region. I prefer this structure:
    R<app-id><page-id><seq> (Raaaaappppsss) e.g. R094260001010.
    First example is to turn off the onMouse-Effect. Maybe on the first or last column definition you put this code in the "HTML-Expression" area:
    <script>ex_conditional_tr('R094260001010', #ROWNUM#);</script>#ID#This will call the example function ex_conditional_tr with the parameter
    a) the region id
    b) the rownum (as oracle always starts with 1 this is the first data row [rownum=0 is the table header row])
    Second example is the conditional formatting of a table cell. Put this in the HML-Expression area:
    <script>ex_conditional_td('R094260001010', #ROWNUM#, #COLNUM#-1);</script>#ENAME#This will call the example function ex_conditional_tr with the parameter
    a) the region id
    b) the rownum
    c) the cellnum (here we have to subtract 1 to get the "real" cell index)
    The "ex_conditional" functions are just a representation of how to get the row or cell node.
    Hope this help a bit.
    Tom

    I would use a CASE statement in the select....
    each CASE would be an img src tag for a different button if the button is an image.
    does that make sense? I can include an example if you would like...

    I get an error that cancels out the program the first time, then on subsequent runs it works just fine but still generates an error.

    If you want to display an image on your report, use Link File as item type in the Layout Editor.
    Note that the image has to be accessable from the Reports Server.

  • Show Image in an SQL Report Region

    Hi,
    I'm having some trouble with showing an image in an sql report region.
    I used the Upload/Download Tutorial in the HTMLDB How-Tos and it worked well.
    Now, I have the following in the query region:
    select s.facilityid, s.id, s.name, s.subject,
    '<img src="#OWNER#.download_my_file?p_file=s.id" width="90" height="70">' image
    from file_subjects s
    where s.facilityid = :FACILITYID
    I get a red X in place of the picture. I know that the pictures are there and have been uploaded successfully. Can anybody tell what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks much,
    Nora

    Nevermind, I fixed it by changing the image line to
    '<img src="#OWNER#.download_my_file?p_file=' || s.id || '" width="90" height="70">' image
    Thanks

  • How do I display blob (image) in a Portal Report

    I am using 9ias 10222 and portal 30983 and I have a table that stores an image as a blob and have a varchar field to store the mime type. I have created a form to upload the image and can then query the form to display the image.
    How do I dislay the image in a Portal Report/Dynamic Page Component. I have followed note 68016.1 but the retrieve_img_data procedure does not work it gives a wwv-11230 error.
    Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Can you display what code you used for this? I followed note 172045.1 and everything compiles properly but when I run the report, I just get a box with a red X in it, like it is not finding the picture. I ran the procedure that downloads the image and it works fine from there. Thanks.

  • Image Quality in PDF Reports

    Hi,
    I have a rectangular JPG image which is holding the company logo. Most of the image's background is coloured white.
    If I import the image into MS Word for example, when I print out the document the image is very high quality, sharp, etc.
    When I import this image into an Oracle Reports via menu: insert / image, although it appears fine when looking at it in Report Builder on the 'Paper Layout', when I run the report the image in the output PDF has lost quality and when printed out, the white background (which should be white) prints as as a light shade of grey.
    Does anyone know how to stop the loss of quality on the image and how to stop the background of the image printing as light grey ?
    I'm running Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2.

    I have done this many times. Eventually you miss the right syntax or you didn't grant execute to your procedure to public. Here is one of my examples you may use to compare with yours:
    SELECT NULL download, related_documents, subject,
           || get_category_type (category_type)
           || category_type,
           || get_subcategory_type (subcategory_type)
           || subcategory_type,
           get_subcategory_description (subcategory_type) description,
           '<im g src="#OWNER#.marketing_image_display?p_image_id='
           || NVL (ID, 0)
           || '" height="'
           || NVL (display_height, 100)
           || '" width="'
           || NVL (display_width, 70)
           || '" />' img,
           SUBSTR (get_subcategory_type (subcategory_type), -1, 1) series_type,
           sort_flag
      FROM marketing_images
    WHERE NVL (TO_CHAR (category_type), '%') LIKE
              CASE
                 WHEN TO_CHAR (:p4_category_type) = '-1'
                    THEN '%'
                 ELSE :p4_category_type

       AND NVL (TO_CHAR (subcategory_type), '%') LIKE
              CASE
                 WHEN TO_CHAR (:p4_subcategory_type) = '-1'

  • How can I find outliers in a DIAdem report using LabVIEW

    I am new to DIAdem and I am trying to take a DIAdem report and find the outliers and mark them with an 'X'. I found an example of this but it uses a VB script. The example has a constant to determine what is an outlier. I need this to be a variable. Thanks for the help in advance.
    AJL

    Hello AJL,
    an easy way to realize your task would be to use the VBS script you allready found.
    You can call a VBS with the "Diadem run script.vi". Inside the VBS, just locate the parameter you want to change and replace it with one of the DIadem Variables (for a realvalue you could use R1 for instance). You do not need to declare those internal variables initially, they are part of DIAdem and free for everybody to use. Just make sure it is not used a second time in the script you are calling. Then, prior to running the script you just have to set the respecting variable with the "DIAdem variable set.vi". This allows you to change DIAdem command parameters from your LabVIEW vi.
    Both VIs I mentioned above are part of the LabVIEW DIAdem Toolkit. In case you don't have it yet, you can download the functions at

  • How to add image in web intelligence report?

    Hi All,
    I tried to add an image into web intelligence report by using the background image function available in the appearance settings. But when I tried to click on the button with ellipse, it does not show up a dialog box.
    Do I miss out anything? Help is really needed.
    Thanks
    David Yee

    Hi David,
    You can try these steps to see if the Background image dialog box is appearing for a Free Standing Cell.
    1. In Webi Java Report Panel, select Templates-> Free Standing Cells -> Formula and Text Cells-> Blank Cell
    2. Click and drag the cell in the report.
    3. Select the cell Properties
    4. Under Text Format, click on the button in the Background Image property.
    5. You can select the u201CImage from URLu201D or u201CImage from fileu201D.
    6. If you are selecting u201CImage from URLu201D, change the u201CRead cell content asu201D property to u201CImage URLu201D under Display section in the Properties Window.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error when setting UDF's visible in XL reporter

    Hi everyone,
    Good day! I have a problem in making one several UDF's visible in XL reporter.
    I'm using SAP B1 2007A PL42. I have UDF's added in the marketing documents in
    the title. The code is U_RM and before this certain UDF was okay. In fact we
    were able to create a repor. However, yesterday, our report will not run because
    the UDF is no longer available. But if you're going to check it's setup, the box
    is checked so it should be visible in XL reporter. We tried checking and
    unchecking but we get this error msg, "An error occurred while trying to write
    to the database. Original error-message was: Column names in each view or
    function must be uniqu. Column name U_RIS in view or function "ixvfact" is
    specified more than once.
    U_RIS is another UDF we added in the title of the marketing documents.
    Please help. Many thanks.

    Check this note Note 995613 - UDFs with identical names do not appear in XL Reporter
