Configuration Help 1130AG-VoIP-Vlans-Switch Configuration
1130AG running c1130-k9w7-tar.124-3g.JA1, in autonomous mode.
VoIP - Call manager 6x, Cisco phones only,
Vlans - Open, secure data using WPA2, VoIP Vlan is using pre shared keys.
Switch Configuration - C3548xl's, C356048ps, 6509 cores
I have been looking for configuration examples to help me configure the interfaces from the 3546xl and the C356048ps switched to the 1130AG.
Configuration between the C3548xl's, C356048ps, and 6509 cores on the trunk ports for QoS.
The call Manager is on Vlan 210 and the Vlan for the wireless voice is 202.
Any suggested links would be grate, I think I have found most of it but want to be sure.
Thanks
Just to expound upon the commands that were not working, I did use the /? switch to see available commands, so for example, the mls qos trust dscp command, I entered mls qos trust /? and the only option was cos.
I globally configured the switches with:
lldp run
no lldp tlv-select power-management
mls qos
network-policy profile 50
voice vlan 50 dscp 46
All of these commands worked fine. I was going to assign the network-policy 50 on each access port along with the commands of mls qos trust dscp, auto qos voip trust too, but did not get to that step.

Help with inline VLAN Pair and switch configuration
Hello,
I'm new to IPS and IDS in general, but I have an IPS-4255 and a couple of Catalyst 2900 switches to experiment with. I'm currently trying to enable an Inline VLAN Pair configuration on the IPS and have a simple setup.
SW1 and SW2 have vlans 100 and 200 configured. PC1 and PC2 are on the same IP range (no routing). PC1 on vlan 100 connects to Sw1. PC2 on vlan 200 connects to SW2. The IPS connects to a SW2 trunking port, and SW1 and SW2 are connected together on another trunking port.
I know that my trunking is working because PC1 and PC2 can ping each other whenever they are on the same vlan of either switch. But, they can't ping when on the separate vlans.
From what I've read, the IPS with an Inline VLAN Pair acts as a bridge between the two vlans and should forward the traffic if it passes inspection. However, the IPS does not appear to see any traffic at all.
My IPS is configured with inline VLAN pair 100->200 and associated to vs0.
Have I missed something in my config somewhere? Or am I misunderstanding how inline VLAN Pairs are supposed to work?
Below are my configs for the switches and the IPS.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

switchport mode trunkIt has been awhile since I've dealt with a 2900 switch to I am just trying to guess at what may be wrong with your setup.
I noticed that neither of your trunk port configuration are specifically stating which vlans are allowed on the trunks.
It is possible that for the trunk between the 2 switches there may be some protocol negotiation so the switches can determine which vlans to trunk, BUT no such negotiation will happen with the sensor. If I remember right you will need to specifically state which vlans the trunk to the sensor should carry. If I remember right the commmand would be something like:
switchport trunk allowed-vlan 100,200
You will want to find the show command on your switch that will show you which vlans are actually being trunked by the port. It might be something like "show switchport trunk"
And you will want to verify that the switch is actually trunking vlans 100 and 200 to your sensor.
On your sensor you will want to execute "show interfaces" and look at the statistics for Gig0/0 to see if it is receiving packets on vlan 100 and 200.
You can also run "packet display GigabitEthernet0/0" to see if any packets are making it to your sensor.
You will also want to check Link status and make sure your sensor is linking up properly with your switch. A common mistake is to connect the wrong ports, as some sensors do not have the port numbers clearly marked.
NOTE: If the above doesn't help, then take the additional step of eliminating the second switch. Attach both pcs to the same SW2 switch (1 in each vlan). The second switch isn't necessary to test the inline vlan pair functionality. Connecting both PCs to the same switch will help eliminate any possibility of misconfiguration between the 2 switches. -

WLAN Controller configuration help needed
Hi,
I need to configure AP with WLAN controller for guest access. we have 2 vlans. vlan 1 - guess vlan (internet only access) and vlan 2 - all access.
while configuring wlan controller. which vlan should i configure as native vlan? I have radius server which would check health of the user and would direct wlan controller to put in user in vlan 1 or 2 depending on its credentials.
please advise how to implement it. what would be initial steps.Hi,
I have couple of doubts before going further for solution to implement ?
What model of wlan controller & AP , you are using ?
to configure the Controller , initially you need to configure the interface ( which are virtual ) .
You need to connect controller to your existing LAN set-up may be one of the port of your core switch ............
below are the interface which you need to configure in controller .......
1) Management interface with IP ( which will be used to access your controller from lan ... ) this is ip should be able to ping from the network.
2) AP manager IP ( this is again depend on model ) if it is 5500 , this is not required ..
3) Virtual IP : this is should the IP address which is not at all there in your lan eq.1.1.1.1
4) dynamic interface with IP : this is the interface which will map your vlan to WLAN
once you create the mentioned interfaces , you need to create the wlan and map the above dynamic interface with respective wlan.if required you can configure the DHCP pool as well in controller for Wlan.
let me know , whether this information helped you ........................ -
OK; have been trying to setup a test VM based RDS deployment for a few days now with no luck.
this error mentioned above:
"Server <server name> either does not have a virtual switch configured or none of the configured virtual switches have an IP address assigned" error is driving me nuts!
I have removed and re-added the RD Virtualization Host role numerous times, each time having the "create a virtual switch" checkbox selected, but it did NOT create any virtual switch.
I created the external virtual switch manually and tried to create the desktop collection again, no luck with the same error.
a few questions:
1. you don't assign IP to a switch! you assign IP to Network Interfaces. why does the error puts it like this?! it is technically wrong.(yeah yeah I know all about how you'd assign IP to managed switches in real world to telnet into them and manage them.
you know better than me that it is not the case here!)
2.the RDS Virtualization hosts are using their wifi card as the card for the virtual switch. could that be the reason? I even disabled their unplugged wired NIC just to make sure that the wifi is the only available option for the RDS wizard to use for the
virtual switch creation; but it didn't use it and it didn't create any virtual switch automatically.
3.if WIFI nic is indeed the reason, is it your suspension or an official documents is there somewhere stating so (that the WIFI NICS on a Virtualization hosts are not supported as the hub for a virtual switch).
4.what are the properties of the virtual switch the RDS requires? does it have to be external? why can't it work even with my manually created external switch?
5.how would I fix it?
P.S: the environment is made up of 2 laptops, having windows 2012 R2 trial installed on them, using their wifi to connect to the out world. no cable is plugged into their wired NIC card.Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
The simplest short term solution was to connect each computer to a small switch that had no other connectivity. This brought up the link light on the external NIC and allowed the creation of the collection to complete. You need to use an external switch. You
can create one external switch which might fix the problem.
Please check below article for information.
VDI Deployment Error About Virtual Switch
In addition please referthis article for information regarding virtual switch.
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

We are trying to install a 2106 controller with a few 1261 AP's which we have downgraded to Lightweight.
We are getting our head around the 2106 config but am unsure as to what config to put on the switchport the AP's connect to.
As far as our reading goes it is best practice to plug the AP's into a network swtich and trunk vlan's from the switch to the controller.
Bit confused about the way the AP's connect to the switch.
Thanks
RogerHi,
As I understood ... you need to map existing vlan subnet with your wlan ...
you will have interfaces which you first need to configure on your controller .
1) Management IP of wlc
2) AP- manager
3) dynamic interface which will be used to map the vlan with respective wlan
4) virtual
procedure :
1) if you do not have dhcp seperate configured , first you need to create vlan then configure svi interface with ip address and dhcp pool for your ap to get ip address in your l3 switch which is connected to your controller with default-router command which will point to your switch
2) login to your controller through console and configure the management IP address
command : WLC( config ) > interface address management ... ip address... mask .... gateway ( it will be your switch )
configure AP-manager interface with above command with ap manager option ..
Now switch side you configure the one port which is connected to your controller as a TRUNK
connect ap to any port which will configured with above vlan which you have configured in l3 switch
Now AP should get registered and then follow below procedure for getting client connected to respective WLAN
3 ) once you configure login to gui of controller and configure dynamic interface with existing vlan subnet and give the dhcp server ip address if you have or else configure the dhcp pool for users also.
4) go to " wireless " option
5) select the respective wlan and map the vlan with respective dynamic interface
check whether clients got ip address.
please let me know ........ if you have doubt about it -

We have the following configuration:
Networks:
10.20.1.1 - vlan 1 - default
10.20.2.1 - vlan 2 - voice
10.20.3.1 - vlan 3 - management
10.20.1.1 - 10.20.2.1 - 10.20.3.1 - 3845 router
10.20.3.9 - 3750 switch (connected to router)
10.20.3.10 - 2960 switch (connected to 3750)
10.20.3.11 - 2960 switch (connected to 3750)
10.20.2.x - phones connected to both 2960 switch
I am a bit confused as to how to configure (CER) for the following:
1) Do I need to have both a voice address (10.20.2.x) and a management address (10.20.3.x) on the switches?
2) SMNP Settings - IP Address/Host Name - 10.20.3.* or should it be 10.20.2.* or both?
3) LAN Switch Details - Switch Host Name/IP Address - 10.20.3.9 (3750 switch) or should it be 10.20.2.9. Do I need to enter
10.20.3.10 (2960 switch) and 10.20.3.11 (2960 switch) as well?
4) IP Subnets - Subnet ID - 10.20.0.0. Is this correct or should it be something else?In local mode, the AP doesn't know anything about dot1q trunking. It tunnels all the traffic back to the WLC.
In FlexConnect, you configure the WLAN to VLAN mapping on a per AP basis.

Redundant Switch Configuration
I'm trying to setup two Catalyst 3750X-48T-L switches to support redundant networking. Most pieces of equipment will have two Ethernet interfaces, each on separate subnets.
So far, I've got the switches configured as separate VLANs, connected together with stack cables as shown below. I can propagate Ethernet traffic in each subnet/VLAN independently. However, I cannot get packets routed across the VLANs/subnets.
I'm looking for guidance on what additional steps are needed. Do I need to define each port as a trunk connection?If you want to route between the vlans then you need to have L3 vlan interfaces (SVIs) on the switches.
So for each vlan you need to create an SVI and assign it an IP address from the IP subnet used for that vlan.
Then you set the default gateway of the clients in that vlan to the be the SVI IP address.
Note - if your switches are stacked you only need to create the SVIs on the stack master.
Edit - haven't used 3750-X switches so you many also need to enable IP routing using the "ip routing" command.

Multiple ethernet network adaptors + MySQL/php5: configuration help needed
I would be grateful if someone could give me some advice on how to configure multiple ethernet adapters under OS X 10.5.6
I have set up my system to work nicely with two ethernet network adapters, each with its own fixed IP. This bit works just fine. The machine supports two separate servers - a mail server and the OS X Apache2 server. I have configured the mail server to only listen to one of the IPs, and the Apache2 server to listen to the other (via httpd.conf). The system also has MySQL and php5 installed / enabled, and these services are only used by the Apache2 server.
The problem I have is that when I start the machine, initially the php5 system cannot connect reliably to the MySQL database system. The fix I have found is to temporarily make the ethernet adapter connected to the mail server 'inactive'. While this is so, the php5/MySQL connection to Apache2 works. Curiously, once an initial connection between php5 and MySQL has been made, subsequently I can make the mail server's ethernet adapter active again without further problems.
I initially thought this might be due to 'service order' issues - but changing the service order (e.g. putting the Apache adapter 'above' the mail adapter in the service order does not help. The fix only works by making the mail adapter inactive temporarily.
I suspect that there is some configuration change I can make to clarify the setup I have. The MySQL and Apache installations only need to talk to the Apache server - but I am not sure how to record this configuration in the OS X system.
Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide.

CONFIGURATION OF REDUNDANDACY ON 2960 SWITCHES
I would like to configure 2 switches for redundancy for fail over how should i interconnect and what are the configurations to be made on switches the current setup is i have 2 links connnected through fiber to two switches in turn is conected to 2 routers
Step 1
configure terminal
Enter global configuration mode.
Step 2
interface interface-id
Specify a physical interface to configure, and enter interface configuration mode.
Valid interfaces include physical interfaces.
Up to eight interfaces of the same type and speed can be configured for the same group.
Step 3
switchport mode {access | trunk}
switchport access vlan vlan-id
Assign all interfaces as static-access ports in the same VLAN, or configure them as trunks.
If you configure the interface as a static-access port, assign it to only one VLAN. The range is 1 to 4094.
Step 4
channel-group channel-group-number mode
{{auto [non-silent] | desirable [non-silent] | on} | {active | passive}}
For more detail see Etherchannel configuration Guide:

What is need to have streams doing is a one way replication of the AR
schema from a database to another database. Both DML and DDL shall do
the replication of the data.
Help on Oracle streams 11g configuration. I would also need your help
on the maintenance steps, controls and procedures
2 databases
1 src as source database
1 dst as destination database
replication type 1 way of the entire schema FaeterBR
Step 1. Set all databases in archivelog mode.
Step 2. Change initialization parameters for Streams. The Streams pool
size and NLS_DATE_FORMAT require a restart of the instance.
SQL> alter system set global_names=true scope=both;
SQL> alter system set undo_retention=3600 scope=both;
SQL> alter system set job_queue_processes=4 scope=both;
SQL> alter system set streams_pool_size= 20m scope=spfile;
SQL> alter system set NLS_DATE_FORMAT=
'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS' scope=spfile;
SQL> shutdown immediate;
SQL> startup
Step 3. Create Streams administrators on the src and dst databases,
and grant required roles and privileges. Create default tablespaces so
that they are not using SYSTEM.
---at the src
SQL> create tablespace streamsdm datafile
'/u01/product/oracle/oradata/orcl/strepadm01.dbf' size 100m;
---at the replica:
SQL> create tablespace streamsdm datafile
---at both sites:
'/u02/oracle/oradata/str10/strepadm01.dbf' size 100m;
SQL> create user streams_adm
identified by streams_adm
default tablespace strepadm01
temporary tablespace temp;
SQL> grant connect, resource, dba, aq_administrator_role to
streams_adm;
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_AUTH.GRANT_ADMIN_PRIVILEGE (
grantee => 'streams_adm',
grant_privileges => true);
END;
Step 4. Configure the tnsnames.ora at each site so that a connection
can be made to the other database.
Step 5. With the tnsnames.ora squared away, create a database link for
the streams_adm user at both SRC and DST. With the init parameter
global_name set to True, the db_link name must be the same as the
global_name of the database you are connecting to. Use a SELECT from
the table global_name at each site to determine the global name.
SQL> select * from global_name;
SQL> connect streams_adm/streams_adm@SRC
SQL> create database link DST
connect to streams_adm identified by streams_adm
using 'DST';
SQL> select sysdate from dual@DST;
SLQ> connect streams_adm/streams_adm@DST
SQL> create database link SRC
connect to stream_admin identified by streams_adm
using 'SRC';
SQL> select sysdate from dual@SRC;
Step 6. Control what schema shall be replicated
FaeterBR is the schema to be replicated
Step 7. Add supplemental logging to the FaeterBR schema on all the
tables?
SQL> Alter table FaeterBR.tb1 add supplemental log data
(ALL) columns;
SQL> alter table FaeterBR.tb2 add supplemental log data
(ALL) columns;
etc...
Step 8. Create Streams queues at the primary and replica database.
---at SRC (primary):
SQL> connect stream_admin/stream_admin@ORCL
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.SET_UP_QUEUE(
queue_table => 'streams_adm.FaeterBR_src_queue_table',
queue_name => 'streams_adm.FaeterBR_src__queue');
END;
---At DST (replica):
SQL> connect stream_admin/stream_admin@STR10
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.SET_UP_QUEUE(
queue_table => 'stream_admin.FaeterBR_dst_queue_table',
queue_name => 'stream_admin.FaeterBR_dst_queue');
END;
Step 9. Create the capture process on the source database (SRC).
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.ADD_SCHEMA_RULES(
schema_name =>'FaeterBR',
streams_type =>'capture',
streams_name =>'FaeterBR_src_capture',
queue_name =>'FaeterBR_src_queue',
include_dml =>true,
include_ddl =>true,
include_tagged_lcr =>false,
source_database => NULL,
inclusion_rule => true);
END;
Step 10. Instantiate the FaeterBR schema at DST. by doing export
import : Can I use now datapump to do that ?
---AT SRC:
exp system/superman file=FaeterBR.dmp log=FaeterBR.log
object_consistent=y owner=FaeterBR
---AT DST:
---Create FaeterBR tablespaces and user:
create tablespace FaeterBR_datafile
'/u02/oracle/oradata/str10/FaeterBR_01.dbf' size 100G;
create tablespace ws_app_idx datafile
'/u02/oracle/oradata/str10/FaeterBR_01.dbf' size 100G;
create user FaeterBR identified by FaeterBR_
default tablespace FaeterBR_
temporary tablespace temp;
grant connect, resource to FaeterBR;
imp system/123db file=FaeterBR_.dmp log=FaeterBR.log fromuser=FaeterBR
touser=FaeterBR streams_instantiation=y
Step 11. Create a propagation job at the source database (SRC).
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.ADD_SCHEMA_PROPAGATION_RULES(
schema_name =>'FaeterBR',
streams_name =>'FaeterBR_src_propagation',
source_queue_name =>'stream_admin.FaeterBR_src_queue',
destination_queue_name=>'stream_admin.FaeterBR_dst_queue@dst',
include_dml =>true,
include_ddl =>true,
include_tagged_lcr =>false,
source_database =>'SRC',
inclusion_rule =>true);
END;
Step 12. Create an apply process at the destination database (DST).
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_STREAMS_ADM.ADD_SCHEMA_RULES(
schema_name =>'FaeterBR',
streams_type =>'apply',
streams_name =>'FaeterBR_Dst_apply',
queue_name =>'FaeterBR_dst_queue',
include_dml =>true,
include_ddl =>true,
include_tagged_lcr =>false,
source_database =>'SRC',
inclusion_rule =>true);
END;
Step 13. Create substitution key columns for äll the tables that
haven't a primary key of the FaeterBR schema on DST
The column combination must provide a unique value for Streams.
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_APPLY_ADM.SET_KEY_COLUMNS(
object_name =>'FaeterBR.tb2',
column_list =>'id1,names,toys,vendor');
END;
Step 14. Configure conflict resolution at the replication db (DST).
Any easier method applicable the schema?
DECLARE
cols DBMS_UTILITY.NAME_ARRAY;
BEGIN
cols(1) := 'id';
cols(2) := 'names';
cols(3) := 'toys';
cols(4) := 'vendor';
DBMS_APPLY_ADM.SET_UPDATE_CONFLICT_HANDLER(
object_name =>'FaeterBR.tb2',
method_name =>'OVERWRITE',
resolution_column=>'FaeterBR',
column_list =>cols);
END;
Step 15. Enable the capture process on the source database (SRC).
BEGIN
DBMS_CAPTURE_ADM.START_CAPTURE(
capture_name => 'FaeterBR_src_capture');
END;
Step 16. Enable the apply process on the replication database (DST).
BEGIN
DBMS_APPLY_ADM.START_APPLY(
apply_name => 'FaeterBR_DST_apply');
END;
Step 17. Test streams propagation of rows from source (src) to
replication (DST).
AT ORCL:
insert into FaeterBR.tb2 values (
31000, 'BAMSE', 'DR', 'DR Lejetoej');
AT STR10:
connect FaeterBR/FaeterBR
select * from FaeterBR.tb2 where vendor= 'DR Lejetoej';
Any other test that can be made?Check the metalink doc 301431.1 and validate
How To Setup One-Way SCHEMA Level Streams Replication [ID 301431.1]
Oracle Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.1.0.2 to 11.1.0.6

Had me stumped for a while too ...
On the screen that presents all your "Blank" documents, simply touch the word "Blank" under the preview (not the actual preview) and you'll get a dialogue to name your document.
