which containd in my SAP inbox of R/3.........
can any body please help me on this
thanks in advance

Hi,
I am not sure what exactly have you done. Which document did you refer ? Please refer to this document -> Refer to step by step - Minimal requirement section and check if you have performed everything that's listed there.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a3461636-0301-0010-3787-978f5ac8bd45
Also check the pre-requistes i.e. the profiles and authorizations you need to see the workitems in UWL.
Here are the steps in brief:
1) The users must be authorized for RFC access to function group SWK1 and
transaction SWK1
2) Create system on portal, give an alias and test connection
3) Create a syste in UWL Systems and register this system in UWL
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Sunil

We are doing configuration of UWL with Abap webdynpro. Our purpose to launch Abap webdynpro application , once clicked to a worlitem in UWL iView. we are unable to do due to following errors.
We have done in this way.
    1.Created ECC system in EP
    2.register the uwl.webflow
3.create ABAP iview(for test purpose still getting error when preview) (N/A)
    4.clear cache

        </ItemType>
5.Getting error, when I click task to perform dynpro abap screen.
    6.WI_ID not been received.
Plz let me know the solution.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I think you have to import the xml-file before clearing the cache again. Your new xml-file needs a higher priority then the default view.
You have just defined a new ItemType in your new xml-file. I am not sure, but I think that you will have to define in this file also a new view for this ItemType. Because otherwise it is not defined how this new ItemType should be shown.

  • Configuring the UWL Manage Substitution Rules

    Hi,
I have a need to be able to add at least one more additional columns/fields to the ‘Manage Substitute Rules/My Substitute Rules’, ‘Search For People/Current Selection’ and the General Data screens of the UWL Manage Substitutions Rules.
Is this a configurable feature/option in that can I add extra fields to the different fields?
The reason for this requirement is that my current client is implementing SAP’s Concurrent Employment in their ECC 6 and SRM 5.0 systems. This decision is causing all sorts of challenges.
If a person wants to define a substitute in the UWL, when they select the ‘Search For People’, we want to display an additional column that displays the position/job description for each person within the organization. This would make it easier to select the correct instance of a person if that person had multiple display entries in the selection list. For example if the system returns Joe Cole – Soccer Player; Joe Cole – Librarian and Joe Cole – Accountant and the person wanted to select Joe Cole – Librarian, they would have the required information to make the selection.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Hi,
Successful message is good!   And for the SAME exact user in the backend inbox (access the R/3 backend that you are connecting the UWL to) how many workflows are in the backend inbox for the same user in SBWP?
If there are no workflows for the same user, try kicking some off then accessing the UWL.
You can also attach the latest default trace here to the message and I can see then if we can find out where this is going wrong for you.

  • Portal Personalizn :- Distributable configuration for UWL personalized view

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario in EP 7.0 SP18, where the users have a UWL and the GP connector is enabled.
The UWL consists of tasks belonging to different applications. Hence the users require a personalized view which will contain a filter. I have done this using the Personalization option.
I need to distribute this personalized view to all the users. Is there an option to exprt this view and then be imported by the end users.
    Thanks in advance,

  • UWL Configuration - View configuration of NavigationNode

    Dear Experts,
I want to configure the UWL to create a custom data table for my own item
    types.
This UWL table will be shown in the portal as a delta link that has an
own configuration, not affecting the standard UWL.
To achieve this, I write a custom UWL Configuration (as specified by the dtd), specifing
    - a custom View named "myCustomIView"
    - a custom navigation tree, containing a Navigation Node named
"mainCustomNavigationMain" on the second level, which contains two
Navigation Nodes referring to "myCustomIView" (rendered as tabs)
In my own UWL table I refer to "mainCustomNavigationMain" as the
navigation id to use my navigation tree and iView definition.
But when I first select the portal role that links to the custom UWL
iView, only the configuration of the navigation nodes affect the UWL
iView, but NOT the configuration of the iView (such as columnOrder,
width, supportedItemTypes and Actions). Instead, the properties of the
UWL's default iView "DefaultView" take place. Even though, in my UWL
configuration this view is NEVER mentioned or indirectly referenced.
Only when I change to the 2nd tab, the iView configuration takes place.
When I then switch back to the first tab, this one's iView is also
    configured properly.
Thanks in advance for your answers!
    Regards,
    Milena May
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a UWL Configuration as outlined below
    2. Upload the UWL Configuration (System Administration -> Universal
Worklist and Worklflow -> Universal Worklist Administration -> Click to
Manage Item Types and View Definitions -> Tab: Upload New Configuration
    Configuration Name: uwl.custom
    High Priority: true
    3. Go back to Universal Worklist Administration
-> Cache Administration Page -> Clear cache of all Systems
    4. Create a custom portal role and add the UWL as a delta link
    5. Modify the properties of the delta-linked UWL:
    useNavigationId = mainCustomNavigationMain
    6. Log off and on again.
    7. Navigate to the custom role containing the UWL iView
    -> see the described behaviour

  • UWL Configuration Problem

When trying to configure the UWL by clicking the link:
Click to Configure Item Types and Customize Views Using a Wizard, and then in the wizard selecting:
Customize the look of the UWL main page
The Navigation Node Configuration page is not correct. The dropdown list and other controls are not populated.
Anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi Paul,
    See if this can help:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/bpx/uwl%2bconfiguration%2bwizard%2bshows%2bempty%2bdropdown
    "Issue :
While using EP7.0 and customizing UWL look and feel through UWL Configuration Wizard, you see an empty dropdown under the property "Select the Navigation Node To Be Customized".
    Workaround :
The issue is due to a programming error in the XML. The basic problem is that the wizard does not support the Navigation
Node name format that the mss file uses (<NavigationNode name="com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main"....)  This is fixed in newer releases, but there is no need to upgrade since the workaround provided here is fine.
Open the XML configuration file named "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.001". The top navigation node should be changed to "Main" instead of the longer name "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main".  Just replace this string with "Main".This is what I just did and have attached the new com.sap.pct.erp.mss.001 file.
So that the UWL knows what navigation configuration to use, you need to go to the UWL iview properties and change the property 'useNavigationId' to "Main".  Otherwise, you will run into problems.
So, in summary, the solution is two parts: changing the navigaiton node from "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.Main" to Main, and setting the "useNavigationId" iview property to Main."

  • UWL Configuration Document for EP 7.0

  • Configuring BPM with the UWL

    Hello Experts,
I need to set up an Universal Work List on EP server to list all the Tasks and Process including  BPM based ones...
Part of Landscape is; we have an SRM Portal Working on SRM ECC, a BPM server (Which is my side basicly) and an EP Portal Server.
Basic scenario is; Customer will logon to EP server(single sign-on with other systems), will fill up the shopping cart(SRM) and depending on the total price diffirent approval processes (BPM) and after approval the process will continue..
Approvers also will use EP server to complete theirs tasks which were triggered from BPM.
So, how am i going to configure EP UWL to show tasks from BPM, i have been through this link; http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce72/helpdata/en/0e/57827af0e34edfacd4c82edeb6acca/content.htm
But my question is; on the consumer part (which is EP) how am i going to connect to BPM (as a Portal server) from EP? It only decribes the connection as a R3 system but BPM is only a java portal system. I couldn't manage to connect from EP to BPM, is there any way to connect from portal system to portal system or is there any other way achieve this ?
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Yasin

    Dear soujanya,
I have implemented federated network between to servers (BPM and EP).
    Can you guide me through UWL Configuration ? I have tried this link;
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ep60sp2/helpdata/en/ff/83fd4d5a644336b13ae54528cfef57/content.htm
but it seemed Business workflow on ECC systems included here, but i just need to export bpm workflows to ep uwl at the moment.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks again,

    Hi,
I am new in portal. Can any one tell me how to configure UWL . We have r/3 system as well as crm system. i want to show both UWL for both the system on one page.
Please give ans in steps by steps.
Please suggest me steps for that.

Edited by: GURPRIT BHATIA on Dec 26, 2007 1:34 PM

    Hi GURPRIT,
It is possible to display item from two different systems.
All you need to do is create separate webflow connectors for the systems for which you required to configure the UWL and the systems must be available in the SLD.
after creating the connectors register both of them and you can start receiving workitems from both the systems.
    reward if useful.

  • EP7.0 - How to configure UWL Mass Approval Column

    Hi All,
Any one of you know how can I configure the UWL with "Approve" and "Reject" column for ESS-Leave Request mass approval?
For example, the manager can perform the mass approval by clicking the "Approve" check box and click "submit" button from the UWL instead of approve one by one....

    HI,
I want to configure UWL in portal so that I can see/approve  leave in UWL in MSS. Please let me know how to configure the same.
When I am trying to configure the UWL in system admin> system configuration> Univerasal Worklist Administration, under that i clicked in new button to add my R/3 system, in that popup i mentioned my system alias name of R/3 system and connector as Webflow connector and remaining field i kept as empty and i clicked on save button after that when i click on Register button OR Register item type for all system than I am getting the following error, please let me know what the  issue is ?

SandBoxCLNT300 is the system alias of system I have created for R/3. in that system object I am using logon ticket.

the default JCo connections. In this case I kindly ask that you create
the default metadata and model JCO connections for
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics and see if that resolves the issue.
