Configure AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 for WGB (IOS 12.4(13d)JA

Hello,
I am trying to configure one of our extra 1231 AP as a work group bridge. The AP was configured as a lightweight AP so I think that might be part of my issue.
This was the documentation I found to do the config: http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/12.4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/s43hot.html
However I do not have the commands available that they list.
Here is sh ver info:

Is this not possible with the IOS and AP that I have?

Hi Eric,
I'm just curious, did you convert the AP back to IOS already?
This can be converted to an Autonomous/stand-alone AP that you desire;
Here is a conversion method;
Reverting the Access Point Back to Autonomous Mode
You can convert an access point from lightweight mode back to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS Release that supports autonomous mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3(7)JA or earlier). If the access point is associated to a controller, you can use the controller to load the Cisco IOS release. If the access point is not associated to a controller, you can load the Cisco IOS release using TFTP.
Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release
Follow these steps to revert from LWAPP mode to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS release using a TFTP server:
Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point, c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point, and c1240-k9w7-tar.default for a 1240 series access point.
Step 4 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 5 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 6 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 7 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 8 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 9 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or the CLI.
Hope this helps!

  • AIR for Apple iOS Support in Flash Builder is not installed.

I've written an application in Flash Builder and I'm now attempting to get it running on an iPad.
I am running on a Mac (OSX 10.6.7)
I have FB 4.5 installed and downloaded the separate 4.5.1 update file successfully updated FB to 4.5.1.
I have downloaded and installed AIR 2.7.
I have downloaded and installed the AIR sdk.
I have an iOS developer account and have created my developer certificatn p12 file, created an Apple Id for my application and a provisioning profile.
I created a new "ActionScript Mobile Project" for my application and enabled the Apple iOS platform.
I have entered my certificate and provisioning information into FB.
I created a "Debug Configuration" for my project.
When I run my debug configuration, I am prompted for my Certificate Password (which I enter).
I then receive a pop-up message with the following error:
"AIR for Apple iOS Support in Flash Builder is not installed. To enable packaging support for Apple iOS follow these instructions."
The link for the instructions links to the following knowledge base article:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/899/cpsid_89938.html
I have Flash Builder as a part of the CS5.5 Web Premium (on DVD), which does not appear to have a "AIR for Apple iOS Support" option during the FB installation.
So I followed the manual installation steps provided (although copying the described folders to my sdks/4.5.1 folder (rather than the sdks/4.5 folder).
However, doing the above did not resolve the issue. I still get the same error message as before.
Has anyone else encountered this issue, or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?
    Thanks in advance.

In case anyone else runs into this issue:
This problem was solved in this other thread in the Adobe AIR Installation Issues forums:

  • Is supported sqlite in air 2.6 feathers for ios?

Is supported sqlite in air 2.6 feathers for ios?
    thanks

Only certain blending modes are supported in air 2.6, not sure if hard light is one of them.
This is because PFI could do CPU rendering where it would support pretty much everything - but slowly.
Air 2.6 is different- it does everything in hardware (hardware rasterizer), so it's fast but can't do certain things. That doesn't mean to say Air 2.6 is worse, it actually supports a lot of things in hardware which PFI didn't (masks, color tinting etc), it just doesnt have that fallback mode where EVERYTHING works.

  • Update Failed: AIR for Apple iOS support

While Updating my Flash Builder 4.5 to 4.5.1, and 2 other updates, one being the AIR for Apple iOS support.
When I try installing the update for the iOS support, I get the message: Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M1P28

Trying to figure out another solution, I uninstalled Flash Builder 4.5 Premium, to install a new full version of 4.5.1 from Adobe's website.
While Installing, I get the following message which showed me exactly where my problem is... I have a prereleased version of AIR for Apple iOS Support.
The Question is... How do I uninstall the prerelease version of AIR for Apple iOS Support? I uninstalled FB4.5, and I removed the remaining folder after installation that was in Flash Builder 4.5 that was in Utilities. though, I still get the message above...
Any idea on how to Uninstall a Prerelease version of AIR for Apple iOS Support?! No where to be found online.

  • Access Point(s) - AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 and others - Spotty Connectivity ...

    Hello,
We have eighteen Cisco Aironet wireless access points (most of them are AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 with 12.3(2)JA2 IOS loaded) across our campus which people have weird issues with connecting.
Everywhere, people can associate and get an IP address without any issues. However, they cannot maintain a reliable connection to systems either on our network or off. They will get a web page to load and then it drops them out. In addition, they cannot connect back again for random intervals of time. To make this even more bizarre is that for random intervals they maintain a solid connection until it kicks people out again.
The vlan itself (60 in the configuration file below) works without issue as we have devices plugged in directly to the vlan via a hardwired port and they are stable.
Below is the configuration file. Any reason why we would have this issue?
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards,
    Christopher Koeber

    Hi Christopher,
Couple of suggestions before moving forward:
    1. I would first secure these WLANs with a least a pre-shared key if possible(WPA/WPA2).  Let me know if you need information on how to do this.
    2. Next, I would remove the 'short-slot-time' on the radio:
    config terminal
    interface do0
    no short-slot-time
    end
If your users continue to have issues, I would want more information on the types of clients in the environment as well as wireless adapter make/model/driver version.

  • Odd behaviour between 7920 and AIR-AP1231G-A-K9

To start, I'm running an AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 (12.3(4)JA) with two 7920 phones (one at ) configured using LEAP.
    First issue:
I originally had my ap interface Dot11Radio0 configured with:
    speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 basic-6.0 basic-9.0 basic-11.0 basic-12.0 basic-18.0 basic-24.0 basic-36.0 basic-48.0 basic-54.0
but the phone didn't like this at all, so I changed the config to:
    speed basic-1.0 2.0 5.5 6.0 9.0 11.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0
and everything seems ok with the ap with the speed reconfig.
    Second issue:
I had to remove broadcast-key vlan 200 change 300 because the phone would lose connection to the ap after 5 minutes and couldn't reconnect. I'm assuming the phone wasn't receiving the new key...
    Third Issue:
Periodically the phone will drop off the associated ap after sucessful operation and return with Authentication Failed. We receive the message:
Apr 29 12:45:40.661: Client 0013.1a4c.337b failed: Incorrect BSSID in re-assoc request
Apr 29 12:45:55.830: Client 0013.1a4c.337b failed: Incorrect BSSID in re-assoc request
on all the access points within range of the phone as the phone tries to reconnect. Periodically it will reassociate and get a message "Network Busy!!!"
Any ideas on any of these issues?
    Thanks!
    Stephen

For #1, 7920 is B only, so if you have G (OFDM) ratest set to mandatory then 7920 will not be able to associate. We recommend the following for a G radio as you want to optimize for 11mbps.
    interface dot11radio 0
    speed basic-11.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0
For #2, the 7920 does support broadcast vlan change, but ensure you are using wep ciphers not tkip/ckip.
For #3, sounds like you are running 1.08 code on the 7920 where there is an issue w/ 12.3(4)JA AP code when trying to roam/reassociate. Look at CSCeg33605 at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_ipphon/english/wip7920/relnotes/rn109.htm#wp112162. Need to upgrade to 1.09 code, which can be downloaded at http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ip-7900ser-crypto.

  • Converting AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 to lightweight mode

    Hi Everyone,
I have an issue with Cisco AP AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 after converted to Lightweight mode. I am using WLC 2106 with version code of 7.0.98.0 but after successfull conversion from autonomous mode to lightweight mode the, the AP is not getting associated to WLC. It shows up for a one or two seconds under WLC and then again disappers. This AP has raido AIR-MP31G which i think is supported for converting it to lightweight mode.
Please see below the log of the upgrade utility after convertign to lightweight mode.

  • TS3274 iPad iOS 7.0.2 does not Trust to iTunes [11.1.1(11)] on MacBook Air 10.8.5 to iPad iOS 7.0.2

When trying to link iTunes [11.1.1(11)] on MacBook Air 10.8.5 to iPad iOS 7.0.2, even when I choose TRUST fails to connect indicating that my computer does not have permission. Even I choose TRUST, i end up with "iTunes could not connect to this iPad. You do not have permission." This is a new MacBook Air and i have recently migrated from MacBook Pro. It seems that there is a solution for this on PC but I am failing to find a thread on my specific problem. I can access to my photos and the iPad does charge. So the problem appears to be one of iTunes. I tried all the basic fixes of turning on/off both devices. I also used Disk Repair Utility to verify and repair permission—to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply :-),
I think I read the instructions carefully and understood that this upgrade applies only to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and up. I only have Lepord 10.5.8 on a MacBook Intel Duo Core.
Can I do this upgarde as well?

  • Fail to sftp to Router/Switch for remote IOS/config upgrade

I have ssh2 enabled on a cisco3750 & 7204 running IOS 12.2 & 12.4 respectively both with "ip scp server enable" configured, the idea being to sftp configs & IOS down to them. I can open a V2 ssh session to each device no problem. When I attempt to use an sftp client (Putty/SecureFX) to do the file transfer the router/switch appears to authenticate OK but then the session is disconnected. I have logging & ssh/scp debug enabled on each cisco box and attempt to open the sftp connection. In each case the authentication (using same credentials as for SSH2 session) is successful but then the connection just closes. Can anyone help?

They don't make it real clear, but what you actually do is source from the router/switch. From the router/switch, you connect to a server that supports SCP and pull the IOS down or push the config to the server. You use the normal copy commands, but specify scp instead of tftp or ftp.
    Hope that helps.

  • What is the oldest generation of iPad that will still allow me to run IOS8 and allow for future IOS updates?

Buying a used iPad... what is the oldest generation of iPad that will still allow me to run IOS8 and allow for future IOS updates?
    Thanks

An iPad 2 will do it...for awhile. Realize that it's seemingly on it's last legs as far as iOS updates go and performance will not be great enough for today's demanding games. Also realize that a big part of running apps smoothly is how much system RAM (the memory area that the apps actually run in) the device has. The iPad 2 has 512 MB which is adequate for most apps but not for some. The iPads above the iPad 2 all have 1 GB of system RAM and the iPad Air 2 has 2 GB.
The time will come when the iPad 2 can no longer be updated past a certain iOS version (as the iPad 1 is) so it will be more difficult to keep up with apps that you want to be using. This will eventually happen to ALL devices so you'll have to judge if you want to be at the tail-end of iOS updates or at least have a bigger buffer with a newer iPad.

  • Best practice for universal iOS app? swf or swc?

    Hi,
I'm trying to map out a framework for my assets which helps keep the memory load low at runtime for an iOS universal app and ran across the following article regarding swc files.
    http://www.flashrealtime.com/compiling-big-air-swf-to-ios/
However, it's unclear as to how this method would be beneficial from a memory standpoint. Don't the files still get loaded at runtime?
Or should I be looking at swf files with the code stripped out and referenced from the main swf in the ipa? (sounds like more work!)
    Please help educate a noob!
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply, Dave!
What I'm trying to figure out is the best way to achieve a fast load time for a universal app and was hoping I'd be able to instantiate only the necessary swc files as needed along with their appropriately linked classes. (swc#1 for iPhone 3G bitmaps and MovieClips, swc#2 for iPhone4S, etc...) Seems this isn't possible now.
Anyone have some favorite they can share for fast app loads?
Thoughts on universal apps in general? I'm thinking maybe this isn't a good path anymore considering the beefy high-res screen on the new iPad...

  • How configure AIR-1142N AP as a Repeater?

    Hi all.
Is it possible to do that?
I want to try to configure some APs as Repeaters, as I can't get a cat5 to some locations.
I've tried 1130 and 1140 CLI commands, but they didn't work. Couldn't find anything in WLC 2112 GUI configuration window as well.
For AP mode, there is no option as Repeater.
I'll be highly appretiated if someone will show me the right direction.
    Regards.

    Hi,
i am totally agreed with Surendra that
Repeater is ios based access points terminalogy
please let us know are you using WLC in your wirelss Lan infrastruture ?
if yes than you can't achieve this OR
if no you can configure one access point
as a Root and the rests as repeater
only in ios based (without Controller) access points.
please let me know if this answered your question
    Thanks

  • Experience with Air 4.0.0.1628 and ios 6

Dear developers, I was wondering if anyone has tested and had crashes when saving data with Air 4.0.0.1628 and ios 6.
During the last few days an app that has been available since August 2013 for download on Itunes started developing issues/crashes with saving data using shared objects.  It may have always had these issues since I updated it using Air 4.0.0.1628 but I only detected it yesterday.
At first, I thought it may be due to low memory on the Ipad, but I was unable to replicate the failures/crashes on an IPAD with ios 7 and about 88 megabytes of free memory.  I am currently using Air 4.0.0.1628 and flash pro cs6.
Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the IPAD that the app was crashing on and cannot do further testing on it, but it had ios 6 installed in it.
    Thanks
    Justin

I'm not implying that the server/Facebook way is to work around the lack of local storage - just that it happens to help in this situation (and any where, for example, the app is reinstalled or the user moves to a new device etc).
Also, it's not just to help work around the SO problem   It's also for the complete social implementation, right (virallity, FB game API etc)   For that, I don't mind including the ANEs and all that jazz.

  • Recommendation on AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 replacement in warehouse

    Hello,
We have a customer with ~15 x AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 that they would like to replace with N capable devices in a warehouse.  The warehouse has ~30 ft ceiling and is ~300' x ~200'.  It's got around twenty 20' tall x 100' long metal shelves with cardboard & metallic content in the middle of the warehouse...
Currently, it's got some dark spots between some of the shelves.  I'm thinking of the Aironet 3502E with dipole antennas, but I'm wondering if I need a patch antenna like the AIR-ANT5160NP-R to increase the power output...  Also, what are some recommendations on placement of the AP's and antennas?  Would ceiling mount be OK, or would you go with wallmount?
Thanks in advanced for the community's feedback.
    -Dave

Since the release of 802.11n, its been great for warehouses. Warehouses often suffer from multipath. 802.11n needs multipath. It also allows for beam forming to non-802.11n clients. Good choice and the 3500 will give you clean air.
I've had great success with warehouse deployments by shaping the signal to the area of coverage and not so much with the omni or dipoles. Especially, if you ceiling mount them.
Ive fixed a lot of deployments where dipole and omni's were all mounted to ceiling. However when you go up on a lift truck and get above the racks you will see all the APs see each other.
Thus why i like directions for warehouses. Cuts down on exsessive bleed.
    Thats just my 2 pennys
