Configure Middleware in OEM

Hi Everyone,
we have recently installed oracle weblogic as well as oracle Forms and Reports portal. we have oracle OEM 11g in our environment. I would like to configure OEM to monitor the following
1. Weblogic managed servers
2. Weblogic domains.
Kindly let me know the posibility of configuring these in to OEM and the way i could accomplish this.

There are some suggestions with the global name in the connection descriptor....
TNS name WXP-56M33BS.hyd.amer.dell.com
maybe try IP / localhost or hostname....in the tnsnames
nothing more than a suggestion....

I'd focus on this first. So if the "listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor", then what services DOES it know of? (Hint: "lsnrctl services" or "lsnrctl status")

Configuring Email in Oem 10g

Hai ,
I have to configure RAC production database database control.
My client want that he should get mails automatically from database control about the status of database and error occuring.
I have Reconfigued the em and enter the email and smpt address but it does'nt work.

It will report to you as soon as it has something to report.
Let's check the smtp configuration, it should have declared the connection parameters to the smpt server. This is done from the EM preferences.
Ensure your smtp is visible from the host where your EM is running and there are no firewall issues.

Configuration Assistants Stuck OEM 10.2 Linux

I'm trying to install Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g R2 on CentOS 5.4. The installation itself went fine. When it got to the Configuration Assistants screen, the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant" is stuck at "In Progress". Looking at the log, it says:
INFO: Configuration assistant "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant" succeeded
...that's the last thing written. I tried to click on "Stop" so I can then click on "Retry". But when I clicked "Stop", the whole window froze.
Is there anyway to just start the Configuration Assistants window? How do I get past this?

Since I got stuck, I rebooted the OS. After that, I followed the instructions in the doc and manually run the configuration commands:

Vintage dv7t-4000 WV703AV maxumum hard drive configuration (has 2 OEM drives)

I still have a vinage dv7t-4000 WV703AV it has 320Gb+320Gb hard drives since it was born. With the exception of the hinge which broke as as result of it just sitting opened on the counter it's still ok :-)
What are my HD replacement options?
Can I add 500Gb or 1Tb Primary and keep old 320Gb Secondary or should I upgrade both with similar size HDs (500Gb+500Gb, 1Tb+1Tb)?
Or I should add 500Gb or 1Tb Primary and remove the unequal-sized Secondary one?

Do you use RAID or they are two separate HDD's ? Its original options: 250Gb x 2, 320Gb x 2, 500Gb x 2, 640Gb x 2 or 750Gb x 2:

Have you considered using AUTOEXTEND? - Yes, Since we have TB of storage available to use for datafiles.
2.How to reload the database information after any configure change in OEM?
Could you expand on this please? - I changed the tablespace threshold limit from 85% to 65% for validation, but it didn't notify the tablespace issue throw mail[And it seems the database info Collected date is yesterday so i like to recollect the database information from OEM].

Fusion Middleware Control for Oracle WebTier without WebLogic installed ?

Hello,
In our IT company, we usually install and configure middleware software from the OpenSource range (Apache HTTP, Tomcat, JBoss), as well as commercial products from IBM (WebSphere products).
For one of our customer, it is nevertheless mandatory to use Oracle WebTier 11g (especially Oracle WebCache and OHS), due to legacy reasons. I'm totally new with Oracle Middleware products, and I've begun to read the official manuals, but they mention references to Fusion Middleware Control, a webized console to manage them.
The fact is that we won't install WebLogic in our infrastructure, but only WebTier (our customer doesn't need WebLogic) : it seems that this Fusion Middleware Control console comes only with WebLogic, and therefore, that I'm not able to run it in my configuration in order to manage both WebCache and OHS.
Am I right with this ?
If yes, is there another way (I guess so) to manage WebCache and OHS, without Fusion Middleware Control ? Any advices to find resources about this hypothetical other way to manager WebTier ?

To my knowledge 'Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control' is not downloadable
as a separate application.
When you look at the demos here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/index-092888.html
especially 'SOA Performance Management with Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g' (http://download.oracle.com/technology/products/oem/screenwatches/SOA11g/SOA11g.html),
you can see that 'Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control' is part of grid control.

Best Practice for monitoring database targets configured for Data Guard

We are in the process of migrating our DB targets to 12c Cloud Control.
In our current 10g environment the Primary Targets are monitored and administered by OEM GC A, and the Standby Targets are monitored by OEM GC B. Originally, I believe this was because of proximity and network speed, and over time it evolved to a Primary/Standby separation. One of the greatest challenges in this configuration is keeping OEM jobs in sync on both sides (in case of switchover/failover).
For our new OEM CC environment we are setting up CC A and CC B. However, I would like to determine if it would be smarter to monitor all DB targets (Primary and Standby) from the same CC console. In other words, monitor and administer DB Primary and Standby from the same OEM CC Console. I am trying to determine the best practice. I am not sure if administering a swichover from Cloud Control from Primary to Standby requires that both targets are monitored in the same environment or not.
I am interested in feedback. I am also interested in finding good reference materials (I have been looking at Oracle documentation and other documents online). Thanks for your input and thoughts. I am deliberately trying to keep this as concise as possible.

OMS is a tool it is not need to monitor your primary and standby what is what I meant by the comment.
The reason you need the same OMS to monitor both the primary and the standby is in the Data Guard administration screen it will show both targets. You also will have the option of doing switch-overs and fail-overs as well as convert the primary or standby. One of the options is also to move all the jobs that are scheduled with primary over to the standby during a switch-over or fail-over.
There is no document that states that you need to have all targets on one OMS but that is the best method for the reason of having OMS. OMS is a tool to have all targets in a central repository. If you start have different OMS server and OMS repository you will need to log into separate OMS to administrator the targets.

FYI : Query Results for sysman schema and sysman_mds in DB are :

Do I need to configure the enivornment parameter of ORACLE manually?
such as ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_SIDSet all these env. parameters (ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_SID) manually and give a try.

Monitoring WCI 10.3.0 & UCM 10.1.3.5 using OEM 11g R1

As part of the Service Monitoring for our OFM-OUCM environment, we have implemented OEM 11g R1. Our Dev/Test/UAT/Prod environment is comprised of SOA 10.1.3.5, WCI 10.3, UCM 10.1.3.5, multiple DB instances 10.2.0.3/10.2.0.4, IDM 10.1.4.0.1. We are able to monitor SOA 10.1.3.5, IDM 10.1.4.0.1 & the databases. But the 11g Agent wasnt able to discover the targets for WCI 10.3.0 & UCM 10.1.3.5. Is there a way to monitor UCM 10gR3 & WCI 10.3 using OEM 11g R1 or do we need to downgrade the OEM version.
We are able to see the WCI Products in the Hosts -> Configuration tab in OEM. But we are not able to monitor these as targets.
