Configure Sender File adapter dynamically

Hi,
I need to configure the sender file adapter dynamically. Ex: I will be providing the src dir , file name etc dynamically. I think this is not possible using module because module gets executed after file is picked (in my case file dir and file names need to be determined dynamically). I even don't won't to use directory API for craeting my file sender comm channel. Is there any other way to achive this.
Regards,
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh,
     what is the Operating system of the PI server? Could you please kindly explain what conditions determine filename and source directory? I do not think there is anyway you can determine src file and dir names dynamically in PI.
Here is what you can try.
PI server is on windows system u need batch file. If its on unix or Linux you need scripts. Now what you have to do is place all files in a directory. Here the script/batch file will run continuously in background. Once it gets files it will rename files based on file content or file name then move them in different directories as per your conditions. your interface must have multiple communication channels and sender agreement (with diffrent parties) which will pick up those files from these directories.
The name of directories will be fixed in each channel.

  • Sender File Adapter - Dynamic Filename?

    Dear All,
    I have a simple requirement to retrieve a file named "XXX_ddmmyy" from an FTP site. The FTP site administrator will place a new file everyday. The date is part of the filename.
    I can find a lot of information on how to set the Filename for a "Receiver File Adapter", but none about dynamically setting of the filename for a "Sender File Adapter".
    Can you help please?
    Kind Regards
    Farshad

    Hi,
    You have mentioned over here that the requirement is to get the file "XXX_ddmmyy" from an FTP site.
    Is that site strictly for keeping files related to your requirement only or lot of other files are also being placed???
    If its strictly related to your requirement then you can use the filename "*.extension" and set the processing mode as "delete" so that once the File Adapter picks the file it will be automatically deleted.
    But here disadvantage is that the file wont be no longer present in FTP site once it is picked by File adapter.
    Thanks,
    Lekshmi.

  • Error when configuring Sender File Adapter (XI 7.0)

    Hi all,
    After i had configured my Sender File Adapter of Communication Channel 'CC_SEND_MATERIAL_FILE', an error message for this Communication Channel (in Runtime WorkBench/Component Monitoring/Adapter Engine/Communication Channel Monitoring) occurred as below:
    Error: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: dest
    I think that all configurations for this Sender File Adapter are correct. But i don't know where is protocol "dest" and how can i correct this protocol.
    Could anyone please help me to resolve this problem?
    Thanks for all in advance,
    Vinh Vo

    Hi Sarvesh,

  • How to configure Sender File Adapter to pick couples files in order !!

    Hi Folks,
    I am really looking for one requirement like, Sender file adapter has to pick multiple files by file name based with some time gap? Can we?
    I have got one BPM in this, I have tried with Process mode : Name and Date, with wait step on BPM, but no use. The way how PI behaving, if 40 files in file directory, it is picking all files in one shot. Start processing but not in order.
    The problem is on Receiver system side. The receiver system is SNC system, if old data receives later than earlier date data; we get data obsolete application error.
    Ex: If I receive 25th and 26th files, first I need to process 25th first on PI sends to SNC, I need to give some time gap and pick another file or even  PI picks and process 26th file, no problem but  I need to give some time gap to send SNC to this 26th date file?
    Please how guys, throw me your great ideas
    Thanks in advance!!
    Regards
    San

    @ Sandhya
    If there are 40 files , can you please specify how many types of files are ther like say first A type shud be picked then B type then C type and so on so forth ?
    LIke in my case I had only three types of files file1 and file 2 file 3
    and in the directory also only three  files will be placed at a time
    you need to have some logic to separate the type of files in  differnt folders and then  process them
    @ farooq yes . it will create problem if 40 files are kept at a time .

  • German umlauts :Sender File Adapter

    Hi,
    I am trying to configure Sender File adapter,but it is not working properly for German umlauts.
    I have tried encoding UTF-8, UTF-16, ISO-8859-1,ISO-8859-2, ISO-8859-5 but none of them are working.
    Can anyone please help me out in this.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Stefan,
    I have already added this module exactly in the same way.
    But can you please confirm the sequence
    Module :
    localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean                     Local Enterprise Bean     swap
    localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean     Local Enterprise Bean     Transform
    localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean     Local Enterprise Bean     Transform
    Transform.ContentType                     text/plain;charset="UTF-8"
    Transform.ContentDisposition            attachment;filename="ABC.csv"
    Also,I noticed one thing
    The content is corrupted in SXI_MONITOR but it is correct in payload of File as well as Mail adapter in Message Monitor(RWB)
    Thanks.

  • Dynamic file Directory : Sender File Adapter

    Hi all
    In one of our interface development ,at  we require a dynamic Directory path at the sender file adapter ..
    ex :
    path = Root/A/B/C
    filename = test.txt
    now in Root Directory, Folder & subfolder  " A ( B ( C )))  are dynamic.
    Subfolder "C"  wil contain the source file..
    Will it possible...with Z module development..??
    Regards,
    Ashutosh

    hi,
    if you want your directory name dynamically from Payload, you can use the option variable substitustion;
    For example follow below procedure:
    1)in the Target directory name --> /%dir%
    2)go to advanced tab and check for the variable substitution option(enable),
    3)variable name:dir
       Reference:Payload:mt_filetest,1,name,1
    according to the given details in the communication channel your  payload should be like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:mt_filetest xmlns:ns0="urn://filetest">
       <name>madhav</name>
    </ns0:mt_filetest>
    now  directory is created with the name of madhav (Dynamically according to the payload directory name is created).
    Note: points if it is useful
    Thanks
    Madhav

  • How to get the filename in mapping when using sender File adapter?

    hi Experts,
       I have scenario where XI reads the input file using Sender file adapter.
       The file name is configured in the communication channel.
       In my message mapping it is possible to read this file name?
    Thanks
    gopal

    Hi Gpoal,
    Use Dynamic Configuration - /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14

  • Getting File Name (Sender File Adapter )

    Hi EveryBody,
    I need to capture only the the FileName in to the outbound xml that is present in the filepath of XI server.
    I checked:
    Adapter Specific Message Attributes:
    Checked box on --> 1)Set Adapter Specific Message Attributes
                                 2) File Name
    And my dt IS OF TYPE :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <MT_DMS_FINAL>
       <Header>
          <FileName/>
       </Header>
    </MT_DMS_FINAL>
    Now i put the File into the path , i donot need any content of file in XML , only needed the file name.
    i tried above config and it says mapping error, but i test it"s running good with the test tab.
    i guess file picked up by Sender file Adapter is not matching witj the outbound interface ?? is it so ?
    advice. i see in the sxmb_moni that only the content not in xml structure is displayed.
    srini

    Refer to the blog that i asked you to go thru. It has no input fields. It accesses the file name through the Dynamic Configuration. Provides the same as output. Its just a java function without any input parameter. Create an UDF and deleted all the arguments(even "a").
    Code:-
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String ourSourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    return  ourSourceFileName;
    Oops sorry, i guess i forgot to provide the blog link. Anyway its here:

  • Archive file with errors in sender file adapter not working! please help!

    Hi Experts,
       I have a file to RFC scenario. the input is a XML file. I have setup the flag in sender file adapter channel for archiving the input files with errors. But it is not working.
    For testing I have used an invalid xML file for example without the main XML tag. I have also tested with a MSWORD file saved with.xml extension. But in both the cases the files are not getting archived.
    My archive location permissions are fine and in fact normal archive operation is happening. That is, if I select the processing mode as "Archive" and gave the Archive directory then files are getting archived. The problem is only with the "Archive faulty source files" option.
    What am I missing? DO I need to do some more configurations?
    What are the prerequisites if any for this option?
    How to test this?
    Please help me! I will be greatfull to you all!

  • Recordset per message in Sender File Adapter

    Hi Friends
    I have configured a sender file adapter to pick up *.txt files from a specific path, Since the file is having thousands of records it is failing to process the file at  PI level . In order to avoid the problem I have kept Recordset Set Per Message as 10 , but still PI is processing all the records into a single message. Please help me in troubleshooting it.

  • Zero size files in Sender File Adapter

    Hello!
    I have the problem with my Sender File Adapter (ftp).
    Sometimes in ftp directory there are empty files or messages with a zero-sized payload.
    This situation cause an error and Adapter "sleep" until I save-active it in a configuration. (before I removed the 0-size file...).
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks
    Alessandro

    Hi ,
    What the note states is that if your Sender File adapter picks up and empty file, then it would not trigger any message at all.
    So, if what that note says is correct, then I guess for the empty file, the adapter would not ve passed any message to the integration engine.
    Is there any entry in SXMB_MONI? If yes, then it means some message is actaully being passed by the adapter engine to the integration engine which shouldnt have happened at all.
    What does the error message in the File Adapter state?
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

    Hi,
    I apologize for wrong information, actually I never tried but it's possible after seeing this.

  • Additional Files in Sender File Adapter

    Hi
    I have to collect 2 files (IN.txt, IS.txt) and attach 2 files as an attachment to mail.
    So I opted Additional Files in Sender File Adapter
    Source Directory = D:\usr\sap\pitest\LoadTest\Output\Invoice
    File Name = IN.TXT
    Additional Files
    File List <IS.TXT>
    <IS.TXT>.namePart               ".TXT"=".TXT"
    <IS.TXT>.optional                  NO
    <IS.TXT>.type                       TXT
    But I am able to Pick only one file (IN.TXT) from the Source Directory.
    IS.TXT file is not at all picking.
    Please give me your suggestion.

    I reply just want to close this issue.
    if file Name = Item.TXT and additional file name is ItemText.csv then configuration as following.
    File List <Item.TXT>
    <IS.TXT>.namePart               ".TXT"="Text.csv"
    <IS.TXT>.optional                  NO
    <IS.TXT>.type                       TXT
    for namePart parameter, we should give the str which need to be replaced. for your example, we could give as <IS.TXT>.namePart               "IS.TXT"="IN.TXT"
    replace all the file name.

  • KeyFieldValue in Sender File Adapter Not Working

    Hi,
    I have a flat file like this...
    1Field1Field2Filed3.....
    2Field1Field2Field3....
    1Field1Field2Filed3.....
    2Field1Field2Field3.....
    1Field1Field2Filed3.....
    2Field1Field2Field3....
    My requirement is to pick only lines starting with '1'.
    I have configured the Sender File Adapter like this,
    Recordset Structure : SOURCE,*
    Key Field Name: KF
    Key Field Type : String(Case-Sensitive)
    File Content Conversion:
    SOURCE.fieldFixedLengths  1,5,5,5....
    SOURCE.fieldNames           KF,FIELD1,FIELD2....
    SOURCE.keyFieldValue      1
    After all this, still it picks up all the recored instead of records starting with '1'. Can any one solve this?

    If you feel module processor is bit tough you can use XSLT Mapping which is simple in sloving ur problem.
    Check this blog to do a sample example using module processor.

  • Error in sender file adapter: source directory does not exist

    Hi,
    The PI system is 7.11
    I've created sender file adapter with following details:
    Transport Protocol : File System
    Source directory: /interfaces/In
    I checked in AL11 that this path really exists and it does. (I can even see the .txt file that should be processed.)
    But still i get in Communication Channel Monitoring the following error:
    "Configured Source directory "/interfaces/In" does not exist.
    (i also tried to give the source directory as "interfaces/In" and as "//interfaces/In" but still the same error.
    Any suggestions as to what is wrong?
    kr
    Robert

    Actually, Need to use forward slash (/) to separate directory names in accordance with the Java specification.
    But wanted to try if that works..
    Also check directory name , path again as this is case sensitive...
