Question

For a particular tabel column, I have an cell editor that extends DefaultCellEditor and uses a JTextField as the editorComponent.
I tried attaching an InputVerifier to the JTextField... the verify() method returns the correct boolean value, but that does not stop the editor from losing focus.
Basically, I cannot keep the focus trapped in the cell editor component.
I tried using a VeotableChangeListener, but that gets stuck in an infinite loop when I veto focus. (I would only veto when the focusOwner changes, and when the oldComponent == editorComponent).
So does Input Verification not work on JTables?? Overriding the stopEditing() methods do not help, again, because I want to prevent focus from leaving the editor (stop editing only prevents the editing action for stopping, and only sometimes affects focus ownership as a distant side effect).
My ideal solution would be something like a GlassBlockingPane over everything except the editor component... and toggling the glass pane on/off would be decided by an input verifier... how to do this?

If you run the code posted at the above link, you'll see it suffers from the same problem I describe, namely, that the input verifier cannot prevent the focus loss. Try typing in the cell then clicking the minimize button, or just click on a column header. The cell editor will lose foucs.
If I come up with a good solution, I will post it here for future reference.
