CONNECT 6101 TO PC SUITE?

Hi i want to know if
1. the nokia 6101 can connect to pc suite
2.what cable should i use?
ive tried using the dku 5 dku 2 and the ca-53 and no luck...
please help.

It is not that simple. For sure, Windows wil detect that there is some new hardware trying to connect via USB. Then windows tries its best to try to figure out that what is the driver in the PC that knows what is in the other end of the cable and if you have some non-Nokia cable, you can only wish that the cable has the capasity to pass through the information about the capabilities of the NOkia device to the PC.
In your case the Nokia Phone does not even seem to recognise there is a cable attached, so I don't think the cable is very cleverly designed.
It is a shame that people keep on buying these cheap cables, it seems really many of them are just rubbish.Message Edited by manta on 24-Aug-2006

  • 6101 irDA PC Suite success!

    HI
I have looked at lots of posts on connecting a Nokia 6101 to PC Suite by any means. I have Win XP Home.
I connected my 6101 to PC Suite by infrared with Maplin's USB adapter - there is a cheaper SigmaTel adapter around which may also work (I didn't force the PC to re-install the drivers on the CD-ROM, it came with: it set up some kinda connection without actually talking to Nokia PC Suite).
Anyway the Maplin one DOES connect to PC Suite!
Two important things to ensure are
    (a) the RIGHT HAND SIDE of the phone (as you look at the keyboard) should face the IR adaptor
    (b) the speed you select should be 115200 bps (Do Start, RIGHT Click "My Computer", select "Properties", then "Hardware" Tab, "Device Manager" Button, find and expand "Infrared Devices" and look in its "Properties": "Advanced" Tab)
If the PC speakers are on, you will be able to hear XP telling you of a successful IR connection: an old Sci Fi, Dr Who-type "boingy" sound. If connection is fading you hear a strange echoey rumble like a World War Two bomber in "Dambusters". If connection is lost, you hear a "whoosh!".
Connection with IR to Nokia PC Suite lets you move/backup photos and sounds to the PC, mess around with address books and messages and copy applications onto the phone.
What you CAN'T do is update the software (is this crucial?). For that you need to connect by cable - something that might involve endless try-outs of genuine Nokia cables. No sign of any CA-42 cable success in these forums!
Hope someone else finds this useful

Suddenly everything is OK, isn't it irritating, me thinks Nokia has to sort PC Suite out. It appears to give a lot of people problems with connection!!

    Hello,
    I have a Nokia 3120 with the firmware version :V05-91 22/10/04.
    I use a data cable type DKU-5
As soon as i connect this cable to my phone i have on my screen phone the following message:Enhancement connected
I go to the menu Settings to find the submenu Enhancement settings but this submenu is not on my mobile,so i can't connect it to pc suite.
    If anybody could help me
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Check the following:
Your phone model is supported by the current Nokia PC Suite version at www.nokia.com/pcsuite  and reinstall the correct version of Nokia PC Suite if needed.
Your Nokia device is running the latest software. For downloads and assistance, go to Nokia software update service.
When using a cable connection, check that the cable is an original Nokia cable and supported by your phone at  www.nokia.com/accessories.
If the problem still persists, uninstall the PC Suite, reboot your PC and install PC Suite again.

  • Connect Oracle e-Businss suite 11i or r12 via internet

    Hello,
I have question regarding accessing Oracle e-Business suite (11i or r12) via internet from remote location.
We currently have e-business suite accessed by VPN connection from remote location.
I would like to know if possible to configure Oracle e-business suite that user can access them via internet.
Just as end users can access web based time card such as ADP site, where everything is located on ADP server and
subscribing company employees access them via internet.
    thank you in advance.

    Paul,
Please see "USE EXTERNAL WEBTIER IF EXPOSING ANY PART OF EBS TO THE INTERNET" section in:

  • Connecting 6280 to PC Suite - having trouble - hel...

Can anyone help me with connecting my 6280 to my PC? My PC is recognising the connection but PC Suite isn't.
I am stumped and have read the Nokia Troubleshooting pages, but to no avail.
My iPod has packed it in and I really want to transfer some music to my phone, but cannot do so until I can connect the phone!!
Any suggestions would be REALLY helpful...
    Thanks

I can't offer a proper solution (having problems myself) but here's a possible work round for you.
If your phone has a memory card you could copy the MP3s straight to the card via a card reader and then put it into the phone.

  • Connect Oracle 10g DEveloper Suite to Oracle 10g Express Edition

I installed both the free Data Base 10g XE and Developer Suite 10g in a local machine. need to know how to connect both products to begin to work with.
I did several attempts to do so using Developer Suite Net Configuration Assistance, Net Manager and Developer Suite Administrator but, I always fail when try to connect with the data base: username: system, password: bla, bla, bla and database XE, the system answer ora-12154: TNS no se ha podido resolver el nombre del servicio.

Depending on the installation type selected, the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files may be installed in the DevSuiteHome\network\admin folder (Windows) or DevSuiteHome/network/admin directory (Linux and Solaris). You can update the files manually using a text editor, or use the configuration tool, Oracle Net Configuration Assistant. For more information about the configuration tool, refer to Oracle Database Net Services Administrator's Guide in the Oracle database documentation library.

  • Can't connect 2760 to PC Suite

Using PC Suite 7.1.18.0 with BlueSoleil 5.2.227.1 Bluetooth dongle in Windows XP SP3.
Phone and PC pair OK but PC Suite Connect Wizard device authentication fails.
    Works fine with 6233 phone.
    Thank you.

I have a similar problem with a 2760 connecting via Bluetooth and PC suite 7.1.18
The phone is shown as connected using Get connected wizard however it does not show up in the main PC suite window and when I try to use any of the PCsuite applications they tell me no phone is connected.
The PC recognises my phone under the Bluetooth devices in Control Panel.
Earlier version of PC suite worked OK with this phone, I'm now wishing I hadn't installed the updated version.

  • Unable to connect N8 on OVI suite.

Hi, I just got my N8 yesterday, it´s awesome but I´ve been unable to sync it at OVI Suite and I need to restore all my contacts, first when I plugged the USB cable it didn´t even showed the device at all, I am not even able to safely remove it because it´s not showing at the PC. When I change to Mass storage is OK, I can get into the phone and browse files.
I tried the solution I found here at the forums, uninstalling and reinstalling the OVI suite but nothing happened, I even tried with Nokia PC Suite with no luck, sometimes it gets the device but it says that it´s "connected in non-compatible USB mode" but the phone clearly shows that it is on that mode.
    Can anybody help me??

I, too, am having the exact same problem (Windows7).
N8 is connecting in Mass Storage mode ok.
But when I want to connect in OVI Suite/PC Suite mode to latest version of OVI, it keeps saying that I change the connectivity mode on my device to OVI Suite (although, from device, it already is IN ovi/pc suite mode and not in Mass storage).
Even, at the same time, Win7's own explorer has been showing N8 connected and I can browse the phone's contents thru this explorer.
    How to go around this?
Wish#1: MP3 Tag Editor capable of editing ratings.
Wish#2: Android type Video player, highly efficient player capable of playing all formats.
Wish#3: Without Google Maps (and products), no gadget is worth keeping.
