Connect cisco 3750X and Dell N4032F

Hi,
I need to connect 2 diferent networks (192.168.x.x vs 10.44.x.x). this connection will be temporal because network 192.168.x.x will be migrated to 10.44.x.x.
On one side I have a Dell N4032F (L3) and on the other side a Cisco 3750X. What I need is just visibility between them? Wich is the best way to do it.
Thanks

Hi,
On the 3750X, you need to configure the IP address on the interface connecting to Dell.
example:
config t
interface gix/x
ip address 10.44.1.1 255.255.255.0
no sh
Not sure what you need on the Dell side.

  • Cisco 2950 and Dell Powerconnect 5224

I am trying to Cascade a cisco 2950 and dell powerconnect 5224. I am connecting port 32 on the 2950 and port 24 (gigport) on the dell. Any idea on how I can get the cascading to work? This is what I have on the Dell and the cisco.
    Dell Powerconnect 5224:
    interface ethernet 1/24
switchport allowed vlan add 1 untagged
    switchport native vlan 1
    switchport mode trunk
switchport allowed vlan add 1,10 tagged
    Cisco 2950:
    interface FastEthernet0/32
    switchport access vlan 10
    switchport mode trunk
Dell documentationon casdcading between powerconnect and catalyst 4000 talks about setting up GVRP on both the dell and cisco switches. However, 2950 doesn't have GVRP.
    http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pwcnt/en/app_note_4.pdf
    Any ideas, tips. Thanks.

    Try this instead:
    Dell:
    interface ethernet 1/24
switchport allowed vlan add 1 untagged
    switchport native vlan 1
    switchport mode trunk
switchport allowed vlan add 10 tagged
    Cisco 2950:
    interface FastEthernet0/32
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport trunk allow vlan 1,10
    switchport nonegotiate
You don't need "switchport access vlan 10" on the Cisco because it's not in access mode, it's in trunk mode. And on the Dell you don't want vlan 1 to be tagged and untagged.
    Good luck.

Do you know what the wi-fi connection indicator looks like, which will appear in the iPad's status bar when connected via an avaialble wi-fi network vs the 3G or E for EDGE indicator available in the iPad's status bar when connected to your carrier's 3G or EDGE network?
To join an avaialble wi-fi network, on your iPad go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
Make sure wi-fi is on followed by selecting the avaialble wi-fi network listed below that you want to join.

  • Cisco Switches and Dell EqualLogic PS series integration

Scanrio: In head office there is Dell EqualLogic PS series and in branch also same for replicaiotn from head office to branch i want to know the ios feature set of Switch and Router.

If the Dell EqualLogic systems are using iSCSI to communicate there is no specific feature required on the Cisco gear. The Cisco gear will pass iSCSI traffic just like any other IP traffic.
    Make sense?

  • Need help with troubleshooting VPN betwen Cisco 2911 and Dell Sonicwall 4060

    Hello all,
I am trying to set up a VPN Tunnel between the devices mentioned above.  The tunnel appears to be established, but I've encountered some issues along the way.  I can ping from the Cisco 2911 to a server behind the Sonicwall, but I cannot ping from that server to the Cisco router unless the router is pinging the server at the same time.  What should I do to fix this problem?
UPDATE:  The tunnel is no longer working between the two devices.  The end result I am looking for is to have a VPN tunnel between these two devices which does NAT and allows me to ping across without having to constantly ping to keep the session open.  Before the tunnel went down, I was able to ping that server behind the sonicwall using a port on the inside of the firewall as a source port for the ping, and at one point I was able to ping back to the router from the server, but was unable to ping beyond that interface.  I think the problem that I am running into has to do with the zone-based firewall configurations that are already on the router.  I don't want to mess with those configurations already in place, but I am not sure how to get this tunnel working.  I'm fairly certain I need to start from the beginning in regards to this tunnel, but I cannot figure out how to configure this the right way.
Thanks in advance for any help

Finally the testing is successful on Sonicwall NSA 240 as well with Cisco ASA. Actually somehow Sonicwall firewall was discovering my VPN Box's Public leg (Private IP (10.10.50.10)) as well, which was behind a Live Peer IP (203.124.x.x). As per security policies it shouldnt have been discovered on the remote end. i will bring this in Cisco TAC notice.
Logs of Sonicwall were showing ASA local ike id as "203.124.x.x" & ASA Remote ike id "10.10.50.10".
Sonicwall sets these two parameters with PSK (local ike id & remote ike id). This is other than setting the Peer IP. i asked my client to add my ASA actual and NAT IP in these two parameters and the VPN got UP.

  • Connecting 2 computers and internet

I have an iMac 4.1 Intel core duo. I have been connecting the Mac with my old Windows machine through Airport and a wireless adapter on the Dell. This worked fine but is rather slow. I also connected the ADSL router to my Mac and the internet was fine.
I purchased a network switch. When connecting the Mac and Dell to the switch and setting the IP's I can connect the two machines without a problem.
I set the Ip's as 169.254.229.178 on the Mac and 169.254.229.179 on the Dell. The subnet mask is set at 255.255.255.0. PPPoE is then disabled and the two machines can see one another and communicate fine.
As soon as I then plug in the ADSL cable from the ADSL router I and activate the PPPoE on the network settings, the Subnet mask disappears and the IP shown in Info Network utility differs from the IP I set manually. I cannot ping myself on the Mac and the Mac and Dell can't even ping one another.
If I disable the PPPoE again and set the TCP/IP to manual then the two machines can talk, but no internet.
I have used the location "Automatic" and the Show is "Built-in Ethernet".
Can someone please assist me on setting up the home network connected to the ADSL router. I don't need internet on the Dell.
    Thanks

Our ADSL uses PPPoE to connect and not Dhcp. If you do an ipconfig/all on the windows machine one of the lines says "Dhcp enabled - NO".
Most ADSL uses PPPoE but if you have been running the PPPoE client on the mac then your router is just acting as a modem, in order to connect both your mac and your pc to the router you need to setup the router as the PPPoE client and turn off pppoe on your mac.
without the routers make and model I am unable to find you a howto. You normally access an adsl router setup though a web browser using it ip address refer to its manual.
But try this this may work unless your isp pre configured the modem/router with different settings. first of al give your mac a static ip address.
goto system preferences --> network--> show built in ethernet --> tcp/ip
    ipv6 manually
    ip address 192.168.1.10
    subnet 255.255.255.0
    router 192.168.1.1
click apply , connect your mac directly to your router.
then goto http://192.168.1.1 can you now access the router's config page? the default user name and password for telkom router is root

  • I have an airport extreme with a HP Folio laptop and cannon pixma MX882 printer. when i am VPN'd in thru Cisco vpn and try to print the wireless print connection stops. i Un-VPN and it prints. then i have to go back into VPN to continue?how do i configure

i have an Airport Extreme wireless router, HP Folio laptop (company supplied) and a Canon PIXMA MX882 wireless printer, copier, scanner and fax.
when i am VPN's in thru CISCO VPN to my company Intranet site I cannot print wirelessly. i have to turn off VPN, priint and log back into the company intranet site.  is there a way to configure the router so that it is not blocking the signal?
    Tx

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.
    http://stevejenkins.com/blog/2010/01/using-the-local-default-gateway-with-a-wind ows-vpn-connection/
    Cisco vpn client..
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/239113
I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • I have two facetime users, both connecting to our enterprise wireless network (Cisco WCS) and they can't make a facetime connection from IPAD to IPAD.  Are there any apple protocols or other settings that need to be enabled on WCS?  No firewall involved.

I have two facetime users, both connecting to our enterprise wireless network (Cisco WCS) and they can't make a facetime connection from IPAD to IPAD.  Are there any apple protocols or other settings that need to be enabled on WCS?  There is no firewall inbetween the two connections, as this is all on our internal network.
Both devices can connect to the network, but when they try to talk to each other they can't make the connection.
    Thanks.

If anyone ever comes across this and has the same issue, here's what I did to fix it:
My Linksys router has a Network Mode setting, and I had to change it from "Mixed" to "Wireless-G only".  (I would've used N but one of the NICs in my house is too old to support it.)  Anyway, after making this change, Facetime works fine on the phone.  Hope this helps someone else!

  • How does HP iLO and Dell iDRAC be configured in vCAC?

    Hello folks,
While creating new Endpoints to configure physical severs, we have a few options: HP iLO, Dell iDRAC and Cisco UCS. When we create a new reservation with physical servers, does vCAC communicate with the underlying server automation software (such as HP SA or BSA or others) or directly talk to physical servers via the above end points ?
vCAC provides integration (not OOTB) with HP SA and I believe with BMC Blade logic as well so trying to understand how would vCAC communicate with physical servers?
It would be great to know the underlying process for physical servers configuration in vCAC.
    thanks

I've done WIM based provisioning on both HP and Dell hardware, but can't speak to the HP SA and BSA integration that I believe is mentioned in the documentation. In the case of WIM to physical, the DEM contacts the iLO or iDRAC to initiate a power-on and leverages virtual media to mount the winpe ISO that contains the vCAC agent and configured with the vCAC server information. I put the ISO in the HP example on a webserver and for Dell it had to go on an NFS mount (I believe the guides say you can use CIFS, but I don't believe that is correct). The agent assumes DHCP is available on the network the physical server is connected too and retrieves the build instructions from the vCAC server and pulls down the WIM image from the path specified in the custom properties.

  • Unable to hard code the ports of cisco 3750x series switch

    hello,
I have tried with hardcode to 1000 7 Full on the ports which are connected to another switch.
After changing the port to auto from one side of the switch port came up. Is there any solution to make port up when both sides are hard coded to 1000 & full duplex.
    Simple Words:
    Switch 1 --> Switch 2 --> Hard coded to 1000 & Full --> Down.
Switch 1 --> Switch 2 --> Auto on one end to Switch 1  --> Up.
    Switch model:
Switch 1 Cisco 3750x (Gi Switch)
Switch 2 Cisco 3750 (Gi Switch)
    Regards,
    Ezra.

Yes, it's possible without a straight through cable, enable auto/auto both sides.    Otherwise you'll need a cross-over cable.
BTW, if your standard is hard coding copper gig ports, for speed and duplex, you might consider bringing your standard up to date.  Copper gig standard went much further in how auto/auto is supposed to work.  By disabling auto/auto, I believe, you're also disabling some error monitoring too.  Generally, all the major players, e.g. Cisco, would recommend auto/auto for copper gig Ethernet.
