• Problems connecting JavaFX 1.3 with EJB 3.0 (Glassfish 3)

Hi all,
I am trying to connect a JavaFX application with an EJB Server (Glassfish 3).
After searching a lot on the internet I just noticed some examples of connecting JavaFX 1.2 with glassfish 2.1
But with JavaFX 1.3 and Glassfish 3, no success!
The same code works in a normal java project, but not in javaFX.
Any advice ?
Thanks,
Arber

After downgrading to 1.7.0-b147(Java Plug-in 10.0.0.147) the applet works again. Unfortunately the new JavaFX 2.0 based applets stop working, complaining about misconfiguration.

• Can I determine what clients are connected to my weblogic server?

Hi, is there anyway of determining what clients are connected to my Weblogic 8.1 server - I want this information to be generated for me, not by maintaining a list when clients login initially to the server.
Also is there any thing that gets fired when a client terminates prematurely - for example being killed by the task manager. I need to know this, so the server knows what users are currently logged in, to prevent a user logging in twice (via the same username login).
Cheers,
Ants.

Hi,
Cousld u send me a simple example to check my Weblogic server for EJB with client.
Iam struggling from last todays.

• Multiple Connection Pools in Weblogic

Hello.
We have a requirement whereby a user logging on to an existing web application has the option to then use another application that uses a different database.
So.. I configured Weblogic with a second Connection Pool and a second Data Source, which references the new Connection Pool.
In order acces the new Connection Pool, I tried this:
Context ctx = null;
Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ourProviderUrl");
ctx = new InitialContext(ht);
ds = (javax.sql.DataSource) ctx.lookup("newDataSourceName");but it didn't work. The Data Source couldn't be resolved (I don't have the stack trace of the exception at the moment.)
How can I access the different connection pools?
Am I going about this the wrong way?
Help much appreciated!!

• Can Oracle SQL Flavor be used When BC4J is deployed in WebLogic as EJB?

Hi,
Does anybodys know if Oracle SQL Flavor can be used When BC4J is deployed in WebLogic as EJB?
We succeeded in deploying BC4J to WebLogic 7.0 & 6.0, but we had to select the SQL92 option for SQL Flavor when the first BC package is created in a project. Selecting Oracle option for SQL Flavor will cause EJB to fail, and client get a ClassCastException.
We still want to use Oracle SQL, is it possible to use it with WebLogic?
Thanks.

We figured out that Oracle SQL Flavor can be used with WebLogic, but only with DB connections created from JDBC URL, not work with DB connections from WebLogic connection pool.

• StatelessSession Example: We were unable to get a connection to the WebLogic server at t3://localhost:7001

Anyway, I am trying to run the statelessSession example, with the WebLogic server running and listening

Hello John,
When I first install "weblogic", I am successfully able to run the examples, but after some time which I completely forget how I make them run, I install it again and encounter the same problem as you.
After spending nearly a whole day on restarting computer, viewing ports etc. :) :(, I remember that I make weblogic run from the command line. First, in a console run setenv and startWebLogic tools which are located under weblogic directory and in an another console run setenv again(for possible errors, I want to be sure that it is correct again) and run your client as explained in the tutorials html pages.
As seen, in computer science, simple things, not hard things, always cause you to lose time :)))
Best regards
Banu

• Issue while creating connection pool in weblogic using SERVICE NAME

Found two issues while creating connection pool in weblogic using SERVICE NAME

Problem
database url is generated based on SID
eg: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:SID
Solution
(generate seperate url for SERVICE NAME)
jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521/SERVICENAME

• Problem with EJB skeleton classloader

Hi
We have been migrating an enterprise application from Weblogic 7 to 9.2 and experienced strange problem with EJBs. Our EAR contains (beside the other elements) an EJB module with EJBs and some common POJO classes inside. At the deploy and run phase everything seems working fine, but when the remote client invokes a method which receives one of the common classes as a parameter we get ClassNotFoundException on the server side (talking precisely, the exception is thrown from the EJB skeleton, trying to unmarshall the parameter).
It seems that our EJB's skeletons do not see the classes from EAR. We have tried moving the common classes to the APP-INF/lib directory or placing them at the root of EAR archive and adding reference in Manifest file of EJB module and it won't help.
The only workaround we've found is to add the missing classes to the server classpath but this is unacceptable (however, it works).
We are not using any custom classloader hierarchy.
The other JARs have no problem loading the content of our EJB module (including the common classes, which cause the problem).
So, why is the RMI classloader ommiting our application contents?

The problem was fixed by upgrading to version 9.2.1

• Integrate two weblogic with LDAP embedded

I need connect a weblogic with a LDAP embedded. I make the settings as follows:
1)Create a new provider of type LDAPAuthenticator.
2)The parameters the provider are:
<sec:authentication-provider xsi:type="wls:ldap-authenticatorType">
<sec:name>Authenticator</sec:name>
<sec:control-flag>SUFFICIENT</sec:control-flag>
<wls:port>7041</wls:port>
<wls:user-object-class>wlsUser</wls:user-object-class>
<wls:principal>cn=Admin</wls:principal>
<wls:user-base-dn>ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=base_domain_adf</wls:user-base-dn>
<wls:credential-encrypted>{AES}23vkfCfP/jzmmoqK2g/zkH9uJ8zMSmJ/Xwa6GDjCCQc=</wls:credential-encrypted>
<wls:user-from-name-filter>(&(uid=%u)(objectclass=wlsUser))</wls:user-from-name-filter>
<wls:group-base-dn>ou=groups,ou=myrealm,dc=base_domain_adf</wls:group-base-dn>
<wls:use-retrieved-user-name-as-principal>true</wls:use-retrieved-user-name-as-principal>
</sec:authentication-provider>
The problem is that the application do not authenticated. I think that the problem is because do not returns all attributes of the users. This is log de LDAPemebedeb the weblogic:
15:45:47.896 ldc=2 op=235 SearchRequest {baseObject=ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=base_domain_adf, scope=2, derefAliases=0,sizeLimit=1000, timeLimit=0, attrsOnly=false, filter=(&(uid=pribpm22)(objectclass=wlsUser)), attributes=description}
15:45:47.901 ldc=2 op=235 SearchResponse {entry='uid=pribpm22,ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=base_domain_adf', attributes='LDAPAttribute {type='description', values='Tue May 14 17:34:51 COT 2013'}'}
any ideas?..
Have you made this configuration?
Thanks....

As far as I know, you cannot navigate between workspaces without logins.
You can do it, if the applications are in the same workspace

• JSF combined with EJB, how??

Hi @ll,
I have been trying for some days to combine my JSF pages with EJB Session Beans, but I haven't really found a working way to do it.
First, I had my session bean directly as the backing bean for the JSF page, but I read somewhere that this isn't "allowed", so I created a helper bean as managed bean. This is now the backing bean for the jsf page and has as attribute the session bean.
My helper bean:
public class ManagedHelperBean {
@EJB private JDDACReaderBeanRemote reader;
public JDDACReaderBeanRemote getReader() {
return reader;
public void setReader(JDDACReaderBeanRemote reader) {
this.reader = reader;
}Part of my faces-config.xml
<managed-bean>
<managed-bean-name>helper</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>com.company.ManagedHelperBean</managed-bean-class>
<managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
</managed-bean>Part of my jsp page:
<h:outputText value="#{helper}"/>
<h:outputText value="#{helper.reader}"/>Now, the first output in the jsp page works, the second one doesn't. Why can't the property reader be accessed?? What is the correct way to combine JSF with EJB?
Kind regards,
Wiebke

Hello,
I faced the same problem, but on a Weblogic 10 server.
The problem with Weblogic 10 is, even if it's "supposed" to be a EE5 compliant server, it is not.
As described here http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/webapp/annotateservlet.html , there is no Dependency Injection in JSF managed beans:
The web container will not process annotations on classes like Java Beans and other helper classes.
But, WL 10 offers DI on Servlets, Filters and Listeners.
Here is how I solved it (probably not the best way, but it works for me):
- created a filter with a list of EJB injected (as it works). For every filtered request, set a list of known (enum) as request attributes mapped each to a EJB service:
public class EJBInjectFilter implements Filter {
@EJB
private MyEJBService ejbRef;
public void doFilter(ServletRequest req, ServletResponse resp, FilterChain chain) throws IOException,
ServletException {
log.debug("Setting EJB ref into request as attribute ");
req.setAttribute(ServiceEnum.MY_EJB_SERVICE.toString(), ejbRef);
chain.doFilter(req, resp);
- for every managed bean who needs a service you can do something like:
(MyEJBService) ((HttpServletRequest) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().
getExternalContext().getRequest()).getAttribute(ServiceEnum.MY_EJB_SERVICE.toString())
to get a reference to service.
I agree it is a totally not elegant solution. But why does WL 10 say it's a full JEE5 compliant server, and though does not provide DI for managed beans?
A drawbacks I could think of is performance slow-down (for every request, apply filter, set list of attributes + references into request) - probably it does take some time.
Let me know your thoughts.

this can be occurred by wrong binding of host name to your network ip address, if you are trying to connect to remote weblogic. check your host name and ip address binding

• No connection left in WebLogic database pool

Hi,
We have a J2EE business web application that runs in WebLogic. We noticed in application log files errors messages that seems like "No resource available in db pool", it means all the connection objects (to Oracle database) are used. Then the application is unstable and unseable.
I think the maximum number of connections configured in Weblogic pool has been reached due to an increase of users and activity. But when the workload decreases the application is still out of service. It seems connections objects are not relased to the pool. What can be the explanation for this issue ? Normally it is managed by the container (EJB3 for the business tier).
Once the limit of the pool is reached it is necessary to restart the server to solve this kind of error ?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
First:
I guess you should check with your DBA about how many allowed concurrent session of the data base connection for your user. After this, check your data source file configuration according it.
Second:
I guess you should check if your application open another session connection with data base.
e.g.
- Another file configuration opens connection without to watch and lookup your configuration in data source file;
- Another code opens JDBC directly without to watch and lookup your configuration in data source file.
