Connect Mavericks 10.9.1 to a Samsung printer clx-3300
Good morning. I need to connect Sampsung Printer of the clx-3300 serie to an apple macboock pro with os x mavericks . do anybody have the drivers available? Thanks
Hi there Ubifranz,
I would recommend taking a look at the information found in the article below.
OS X Mavericks: Set up a printer
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14143
OS X is compatible with most common printers and downloads the latest printer software automatically. To make sure you have the latest software, don’t install the software that came with the printer or from the manufacturer’s website.
When you add a printer, OS X can usually detect whether the printer has special accessories installed, such as additional paper trays, extra memory, or a duplex unit. If it can’t, a dialog appears that lets you specify them. Make sure the settings in that dialog accurately reflect your printer’s installed accessories so you can take full advantage of them.

Just upgraded to OS 10.9.3 from OS 10.6.8. Have 21.5" iMac Mid 2011; Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5; Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3; Storage capacity 499.25 GB; available 379.71 GB.
In the old OS 10.6.8 scans went to "Pictures" in Library. I can't find my scans anywhere.
My question is: Where do scanned documents get saved in Mavericks? I have Samsung Printer model SCX-4623F.They should be in Pictures in your User's folder, but they could be on the Desktop.
Have you turned on Show Path bar and Show Status Bar for a Finder window? It's under View in the Menu bar. Turn these on.
Select the All My Files view in a Finder window.
Under Arrange, select Date Added.
Find a recent scanned item.
Click on item. You'll see the location in the path bar. For example: -
What is incoming server connection. Trying to get email on Samsung printer app
I Bought a Samsung printer and trying to print emails. it is unable to connect to email. What is incoming server connection. It will print web pages
Note that a browser-based mail request does not necessarily go through the same network path as a request by the Mail App to a POP or IMAP server.

Scanning in both HP Officejet 7210 and Samsung printer - the document scans but no file is generated - any ideas how to fix this? (It worked fine before installing Mavericks)
PS: forgot to mention: if your printer is on your wifi network, you'll have to enter your wifi password on the printer to connect it to the network before Printers & Scanners will see it.
Sometimes a reset of the wifi system is needed too. A full set of directions would be:
Try:
uninstall all printer manufacturer apps and "utilities"
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select "Reset Printing System..." and "reset" in the dialog that follows
do a factory reset on your printer. You'll have to consult the printer manual for how.
power down everything: modem, router, computer, and printer
power up each item in turn in the same order: modem, router, computer, and printer. Let each power up completely before moving on to the next
enter your wifi password in your printer so it can connect to the network
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and download a driver for it from Apple
resist the temptation to install any printer manufacturer apps in the future. -

How do I connect my macbook pro to my samsung smart tv its the D7000 and has all share?
My suggestion is to get the magic trackpad, magic keyboard and magic wand and connect a DVI to HDMI cable and use the MBP in clamshell (closed) mode. This will allow you to run 1080P into the TV and essentially use the Samsung as a HUGE monitor. At that point you can use the TV itself to display whatever you want off the laptop or simply switch inputs and stream stuff out of smarthub as usual. I tried to connect mine via allshare (by the way samsung has the free allshare download of software for the PC but not the mac.) and while i DID have some succes (under windws) i had to run a non secure connection and in the end the cool factor wasn't worth the hassle, to me anyway. It was sort of a "cool i did it" now why bother..... Hope this helps.

I am trying to connect my Macbook pro 2010 to my Samsung HDTV using a mini display port to hdtv cable. Trying to play a slide show in IPhoto but I only get sound with no picture. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I keep saying this over and over, in the hope that people who do a search will find it. Apple cannot possibly test for or be reponsible for the bazillion combinations of adapter, cables, and TV's out there. The only monitors that are 100% guaranteed to work with the MacBook Pro are the Cinema Displays and Thunderbolt Displays, because, they're made by Apple. They're expensive, but they work perfectly.
My guess is that you bought a cheap MDP to HDMI cable, or have a defective one. From my reading of these boards over the past few months, cheap cables have a high failure rate. And the regular priced ones have only a slightly less of one. Try a new one. Make sure you do not damage the Thunderbolt port. -

I have a wirless network. I connect all my computers to it and a printer. I can print wirelessly from all computers. I tried to add the printer to my new Macbook, which is connecte to the network, but can't find the printer on the add printer and scan icon on preferences. I downloaded a installation printer utility from the Manufacturer (lexmark), but it didn't work. Any sugestions?
Thanks,
IvetteYou would need to get the IP address of your printer then manually add a network print queue.
To get the IP address, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Network Setup > TCP/IP > View/Set IP address.

To EAR or not to EAR? That is the question.
Ok, I'm near the tail-end of a long upgrade process from 5.1 to 6.1, and man, were there some major bumps to get over. And the thing is... a good number of the problems were dealing with the new J2EE packaging specs, i.e. EAR, WAR files. First, I had
