Connecting a philips lx3600d 5.1 to a soundblaster live 5.1

Since buying my 5.1 system i have been trying to get digital sound from my pc i have looked everywhere for a cable solution to do it. I only have two phono (left and right) inputs on my philips home entertainment system for anx in. (unlike what they adtise about my system on philips website with 3 connectors i have not got a clue about and digital connectors)
So my question really is as i am ok with the simulatied surround sound though my pc already is there a fairly cheap cable soultion i could use to get either 5.1 or 2.1 (if it exists) digital sound from my computer.
Thanks for any help in advance

Apolgies if this sounds very newbie but i really have no expirence with connecting high quality sound systems up.

I don't think it's going to be possible to hook up all your speakers to your sound card. But I may be wrong. I think you need at least 5 line outs on your soundcard. One option is to take two speakers out of the equation. But I'm sure that's not what you had in mind.
It would probably be best to get a harman kardon receiver. You'll be able to hook up all your speakers and get better sound to boot. You can plug your receiver into the headphone jack (or line one out) on your soundcard using a RCA to mini Y-adapter http://www.monsterstore.com/home_av/...s/rca-mini.asp. Or you can bypass your soundcard altogether and get Xitel's hifi link which connects your computer to your receiver via USB.

  • How to connect a Philips fidelio to airport extreme?

I just purchased an Airport Extreme Time capsule. I cannot connect my Philips fidelio AD7000W to the network. There are no WPS button on the Airport Extreme. There is a WPS printer connection option in the Aiport app menu option but nothing for sound system. Anyone knows how to make the connection ?

Instructions on how to connect the Fidelio to a non-WPS supported router is covered in the User Guide starting on page 13. On step 4 you would enter the specifics for your wireless network. That would be the network name, the wireless security type & wireless password. You will also want to choose the DHCP mode as enabled for these speakers.

  • How to confugure airport to connect to philips hue website

how to confugure airport to connect to philips hue website

Sorry, but I'm not familar with the Hue product. From what limited information I can gather the Hue Bridge attaches to an existing router via an Ethernet connection.
To link the bridge to the meethue website the bridge would just need to be connected to the same network that your computer is connected to. Then, it would be a matter of using a web browser on the computer to go to the meethue website and login. Is logging on to this website the issue? If so, does your computer have any issues accessing other websites?
I am assuming that when you set up the Hue Bridge that all of its status lights were solidly lit ... correct?

  • Mac Pro does not wakeup 1 of 3 connected monitors: Philips times out

    Hi,
    (Setup)
    I use a Mac Pro from 2014 (End 2013, AMD Firepro, D700 Graphics, 6core, 1TB SSD, 32MB, actual OSX Yosemite 10.10.2).
    Connected are three monitors:
Philips BDM 4065 UC (40 great inches) via mini DP to DP cable
2x Dell 2410 (vertical/pivot to the sides of the 40" screen)
    (Problem)
The setup is a dream for me, with one glitch:
when the Mac goes to sleep, all monitors nicely sleep with it. Waking the Mac up again, brings the Mac up and the Dells but not the Philips. It tries to get up (a bit of backlight to be seen), then shows a message that it goes to sleep again.
    (Troubleshooting so far)
    I experimented with it:
    - power cycling the monitor brings it back into business
    - pulling the DP cable temporarily does the job too ... sometimes
    (Assumed root-cause)
Today I believe I found the reason:
In a forum sb. complained that the Philips takes long to wake up. Ok! The Dells that work are back ... instantly.
I tried this: wakeup, wait two seconds, put the Mac to sleep (mouse into active corner) and wake it up immediately.
The description sound a bit like "dance around the tree three times at full moon", but it works. What I believe that happens:
    Fail:
    - the Mac wakes up
    - the Dells are awake instantly
    - the Philips slowly wakes up
    - the Mac gets impatient about the Philips and times out waiting for the monitor, stopping the signal supply
    - the Philips falls back into sleep (and displays this as a message)
    Workaround:
    - the Mac wakes up, Dells wake up
    - waste two seconds, while the Philips is still trying to wake up
    - hammer the Mac back into sleep, and wake it up again
    - the Philips is so slow it doesn't even notice this "brutal shaking" of the Macs wake-state
    - the activite resets the wake-up-timeout of the Mac giving the Philips effectively enough time to report "ready" before even the second wake-up times out.
    - et voila: a fully awake set of monitor
    Now the big question:
I this timeout that the Mac on wake-up waits for a Monitor to become ready a configurable item? Can I extend this period by a few seconds to get my dream setup actually working? I fear I won't be able to make Philips solve the long wake-up time, so I check on the Apple side.
    Thanks in advance.

So update. Boot camp now works...somehow. Not sure how I fixed it but this is what I did that lead to it. As you asked I tried to make a boot drive on a USB for OS X Mavericks, But the App store would not let me download it. So instead I made one with OS X Yosemite. After witch I shut it down, pulled the USB and restarted. At witch point I got a gray screen. I then restarted and opened the startup manager. It only showed a install and a restore drive. Tried restore, but it just brought me back to the gray screen. At witch point I opened disk utility and repaired my main HD, and restarted. Still gray screen. So then I booted in safe mode witch brought me to my account login (and my screen flashed a bit). After I logged in I restarted again. Witch once again brought me back to gray screen. So I tried reseting my NVRAM with no success. Started in safe mode again and went to my start up disk and selected my main boot drive and restarted. All returned to normal and boot camp now works. Not sure what I did to fix the problem as i'm not that computer savvy but thanks for all your help and I hope you can gather some information from my random desperate attempts to get my computer running normally again.
In the end it all worked out
    thanks again

  • Problem connecting old Philips WIndows XP based Multimedia PC to AEBS

I upgraded my brother's wireless network by turning off the Wifi from his 'oldish' Linksys and attaching a AEBS in bridge mode to his linksys. This works fine for his imac and MacBook Pro, as well as his iPod and AE (used for AirPlay). The AEBS is set up to offer a separate network for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The channels are 'not wide'.
But one older system refuses to connect. It is an old Philips Windows XP based media center with a AR5006XS chipset based 802.11 b/g card. The log in the AEBS shows a constant failure to connect with errors "WPA handshake failed with STA".
Having looked around, I noticed some web pages with some info on problems with this chipset, no info specific to this Media Center PC. Does anybody have an idea what I could do best to get this system connected again? Drivers?
If updated XP drivers for this thing are not available, I was thinking to use an older M8799LL/A AEBS I have lying around here. I would then want to set that one up in bridge mode and let it join the existing network. I would then attach the ethernet to the Windows PC. Would that work with that base station?

    Bob Timmons wrote:

If you are talking about 5 GHz, they need to be "wide" if you want maximum bandwidth on the network. I don't know why you would not want this, but you may have your reasons.
Though his house is made from wood his reception problems are much bigger than mine (and my house is made from concrete). I have made the channels narrow to minimize interference as a possible source of problems.

Based on your description, and a guess, this sounds very much like the Media Center PC wants to connect using older WEP 128 or WEP 40 encryption. It probably cannot handle WPA authentication.
According to what Windows tells me I can select WPA and the log of the AEBS also shows me that an WPA attempt is being made. It just fails. It was also connecting with WPA succesfully to the linksys before I replaced the linksys' wireless with the AEBS. So it looks like a wifi compatibility problem between the driver on the XP machine and the AEBS.

  • T6060 center speaker sounding low when connected to Philips DVP3046

Hi, I've Philips DVP 3046 connected with Creative Inspire T6060. I've turned on multichannel output in the player and connected properly with RCA jack too.. The problem is that my center speaker sounds very low and i cannot hear voices properly. The other satellite speakers are sounding good. Please help. Thanks,Firvin

there was a real faulty center speaker, they've aknowledged the problem and they changed the whole system with a brand new one, which works pretty good. SOme things i have noticed comparing the two packages. I am afraid that the first set that i got was some sort of an RMA product that had been fixed, because although the seals were intact, and the inner boxes seemed new, but the small plastic bags that contained the speakers were somehow damaged and the speakers were not that well packed as this new set that i got a few days ago. The thing that i noticed, unfortunately is that i have now the same problem as SMSMASTERS reported, the fluctuation of the volume. It is perceptible, but after a little bit of fine listening. It's definitely there... I frankly am dissapointed in Creative for not being able to make a good solid product. And how could they market a product that, as you can see on this forum, has so many problems and bugs that need to be fixed? I would advise all those who want to buy new products and recently marketed products from creative to wait a little bit more and not haste into it...i think the best speaker set that will be marketed under the name of t6060 would be somewhere in spring or summer of this year, probably the revision B or C series, cause this one really sucks. The speakers are alright, and they sound pretty clear and accurate, and it's probably a problem with the remote, as other people reported on the forum, but it's simply rude and disconsiderate to buyers and especially to Creative fans to release a product with so many bugs that need to be fixed. It's a shame really, and a huge dissapointment. I wonder how you all feel, all of you who posted on this forum about bugs related to your hardware...

  • New white MB connects to Philips 23PF5320 TV: works OK but .......

...the tool bar up top is clipped out (I can guess what to do. It's there just cannot see it}. The video is excellent.
My connection is miniDVI to DVI on the television. I am waiting for a miniDVI to VGA to see if that makes a difference.
I saw several posts from other users of the same Philips TV but I don't remember anyone else mentioning this clipping problem.

Overscan originated with standard TVs where people did not like to have empty and noisy edges. So only the central 90% was shown by increasing the deflection. TV studios typically underscan the picture to be sure there is not a problem at the edges.
New TVs will often have a control to adjust this and often it is only a two-way setting.
As you will be going digital to digital, there may be blurring of the edges if you get a poor match. I find it get a great match of my white early-2009 MacBook to my 56" 1920x1080 LED DLP. It is not a copy but a separate output from the graphics card. You can read spreadsheet text even. It is either a separate screen or you can mirror the MB screen--not sure of the resolution change then--away from home. Mirroring is easier to control the cursor.

  • Connecting my Philip's Hue System

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, couldn't find one specifically for this.
I am considering purchasing the Hue system. I live in a college dorm, and want to use it for when we are hanging out, and also for when I move into an apartment next semester. My question is this: I don't have a wireless router in my room (the college takes care of all of our wireless). With the bridge, it says I need to have it connected to my wireless router for it to work. Will it still work if the bridge is connected directly to the ethernet port in the wall?

You have enabled Extended desktop, which combines the two displays along an edge of your choosing. The mouse moves freely across the two displays, and can carry a window with it. You can even drop a window so that half is on each display, and it will scroll "the right way".
This visual is from the arrangement tab in displays preferences:
Note that these icons are proportional to the pixels on each display. You can re-arrange them by dragging. The white bar is the menuBar, which can be dragged to either display.

  • Bad bluetooth connection with philips

After bluetooth pairing with my Philips Fidelio E5 (CSS7235Y/12) you can't hear music. The sound is so bad, you can't understood anything. You hear only scratching and static noises. It's the same with my xperia tab 2(lollipop 5.0.2) but not with the xperia z(kitkat 4.4.4) from my son and phones from other manufactures...

Hi luca-ben, welcome to the community!
Try clearing the data for SmartConnect on your device, just go into Settings > Apps > All > scroll down to SmartConnect and tap it > tap Clear data. You can also un-pair & re-pair the devices again to see if that helps, otherwise try contacting Philips to see whether they have any troubleshooting ideas. Keep us updated

They plan on offering highspeed to everyone in the future, but as of now they dont offer it in my area and have no plans of replacing the phone lines in my area anytime soon either. so until they replace the lines in my area, its not available . • Connection Logitech Z-680's to Creative Sound Blaster Live 24 Bit Exter

Trying to connect my Logitech Z-680?Speakers to connect to my Sound card. I can either use optical or the analog (3x 3.5mm jacks)
What is the best way to connect them? Also on the speakers depending on which cables i used, i have different effect options. If its using the analog :-6 channel directstereostereo x 2DD PL 2 MusicDD PL 2 Movie? If using optical:-StereoStereo x 2DD PL 2 MusicDD PL 2 Movie?Which should i use?for Music i will change the effect to DD PL 2 Music - so i get 5. sounds from my tracks. But which for movies? Are they're any changes that i have to make to the DVD program that i use? Also should i have CMSS on the soundblaster on or off? Thanks

I recommend using Optical (since its digital connection). (Also for to send to an external reci'ver to decode Dolby digital and DTS i beli've you need to use SPDIF (optical) out cause otherwise analog i beli've won't do it)? Those modes you?said?are up mixing modes for 2 channel sources like music?(best used with digital connections). Since movies are already 5. you don't need to use up mixing.
CMSS is for use on?analog?connections on the soundcard?only and is upmixing 2 channel?sources like music. Games i would recommend?analog since gaming can't do surround sound over digital. Depending on your DVD app wether it has SPDIF out is on the app. if its supports it should be fine.Message Edited by Stargazer on 02-24-20062:27 AM
