Connecting to Someone Else

Dear Representative:
I have tried to connect with someone who is in the Skype network of my company: EDMC. I have tried three times, but with no success. I am routed to a page that says that the account is "not available."
Thank you in advance for your help!

Launch the Keychain Access application on the client and search for password items with the Bonjour name of your computer. Delete any that you find. Then try again to connect with the name and password of the user on your computer who owns the sharepoint.

  • Just got connected into someone else's call!

    Hi.
I just made a skype-out call from my account in Australia to an Australian mobile phone number. Instead of connecting me to the phone I was ringing, skype connected me to the middle of some random phone call that was in progress.
I could hear one party of the call, but not the other.
I can confirm that it was not the person I was trying to ring.
After a few seconds, I hung up and re-dialed my intended number. This time it rang and the my friend answered. They said they had a missed call from when I first called.
    I'm using skype version 5.5.0.119.
I've never had this happen before.
This has shaken my confidence in skype's security quite a bit.
Anyone from skype care to comment ?

Previous post was a bit lacking in detail. Just to elaborate, twice this week I have been on a video call to someone. The call has stalled, and Skype has gone to the reconnecting screen. The first time, Skype seemed to connect me to a random call that was already in progress-I could hear two people having a conversation, but I don't think they could hear me. The second time, I'm not even sure I was connected to a call – when Skype reconnected the call I could hear music in the background and keyboard tapping (it definitely wasn't the person I was originally talking to). Bit spooky. Anyone else encountered anything similar?

  • New line connected today, someone else also gaven ...

Hi today my new line was connected, i then recieved a call from a random person telling me this was meant to be their number today, they say they got the letter saying the same numb as mine, now he says he has gaven this numb out to his patients as he is a doctor.
Can someone please explain to me how BT have managed to screw this new cnnection up so badly?
I called BT they say theres no record of them issuing this number to anyone else!!!
What a complete joke this is, can't even connect a line up without screwing up.
BT if your reading this, I demand an answer right now!

    Hi madevo,
When a landline order is placed a temporary number is allocated, but it's never guaranteed as it can change once the service is "live", and I'm guessing the caller was allocated the number in question when they originally ordered the service.
Customers should never give out the temporary numbers as they cannot be guaranteed, but by the sound of this the caller wasn't advised of this.
For some reason the number must have become spare (possibly because there was a problem with the original order) and when your line was activated the number in question was then given to you (numbers are allocated from a general “pool”, and the first available is given).
I don’t have any way of knowing how the number became spare from the doctor’s order, however as the number would have been temporary against his order, then become spare and it's now live against your account we wouldn't have a way of tracing it back to the doctor's order.
This is also assuming the doctor ordered the service with BT. if they ordered with a different provider we wouldn't be able to access the account at all - even if we had their account number - as it would be on another service provider's database.
I am sorry you were called up about this, and if you'd like me to check your order to make sure everything went ahead as it should have do drop me an email at [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Stephanie

  • Cannot connect with someone else using iChat

I have a friend that will send me an invitation to chat and I will click Connect. Then it will say Starting Connection and then it gives me this error message that I did not respond but in reality I clicked "Connect"

    Hi tscott988,
The Log pop up has a reveal triangle on the left.
They are also stored in Users/(your account)/Library/Logs/iChatConnectionErrors

  • Connect to someone else's Mac to add Apple tv content?

My mother-in-law lives far away and one thing we set up to share what her grand kids do is to put media on her Apple tv.  So we record performances and turn them into mp3s, make home movies in iMovie, and email her photos.  Initially we set up all of this stuff, along with her DVDs and CDs that we ripped for her on an external drive which we linked to her iTunes.  She is computer illiterate though, so trying to add new content has been a nightmare.  If I send her photos through email or home movies on a thumb drive she should just be able to drag and drop onto the external drive and then into iTunes.  But it never works right, she keeps messing up a step, usually disconnecting her hard drive in the process.
So here is what I need.  Can I connect over the Internet my MacBook pro running Lion to her MacBook running Snow Leopard so I can drag and drop these files from my laptop to hers?

Set up iChat accounts for her and yourself, then use the screen-sharing feature in iChat.

  • Graphite Connects to Someone Else's Wireless Network

When I startup my eMac (10.4.8) I sometimes cannot connect to the internet via Airport. I discover, upon launching Internet Connect, that I am connected, but not on our wireless network. Instead, Airport shows me connected on something called "linksys" (which I assume is a neighbor's wireless network), and the signal is very weak. I can switch to our network via Internet Connect & all is well, but it's a hassle having to go through this every time. It used to be that I'd immediately be connected to our own wireless network & Airport upon startup. Help! How can I "teach" my Airport to always connect via OUR network & not "linksys"???

Try each of the following, in order, until resolved:
    1. Run the Disk Utility to repair Disk Permissions.
    2a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
    - System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Configure
    - In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
    - Delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list
    2b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
    - Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
    - Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
    - Restart, or log out then back in.
    2c. Add Preferred Network(s)
    - System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Configure
    - In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
    - Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
    - Restart or log out then back in.
    3. Create a New User Account
    - Create a new user account.
    -- System Preferences > Accounts
-- Click "+" to add a new account
    - Log off, then log back on with the new user account.
    - Try connecting with the AirPort.

  • Executing spatial queries on someone else's tables

I am trying to execute a spatial
query using a table owned by
    someone else.
    The SQL is...
    select a.plancoupe, a.coupecrop, a.ha
    from dba1.coupes a, dba1.coupes b
    where b.plancoupe = 'CM004H' and
    mdsys.sdo_within_distance(a.geom,b.geom,
    'distance=1000 querytype=WINDOW')
    = 'TRUE'
The query works fine when I am connected
as dba1, but when I connect as someone
    else I get...
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
ORA-13211: failed to tessellate the window object

    ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD", line 73

I have granted SELECT permissions on the
table in question to PUBLIC and also to
    dba1.sdo_geom_metadata and the spatial

    indexing creation routines...
    Any ideas?

    Hi Simon,
From your e-mail below, I assume you are
    running Oracle 8.1.5.
Here is what you need to do for 8.1.5.
    Hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.
    Dan
    ======
In Oracle 8.1.6, your query will work
    if you do the following:
    1) Grant select on dba1.coupes
    2) Grant select on the spatial index
    table created on dba1.coupes
In Oracle 8.1.5 ONLY, do steps 3 and 4:
    3) In addition to step 1 and 2 above,
    grant select on sdo_geom_metadata
    4) As the Oracle MDSYS user, you must run
    the following:
    connect mdsys/mdsys
    drop view sdo_index_metadata;
    create view sdo_index_metadata as
    select SDO_INDEX_OWNER, SDO_INDEX_NAME, SDO_INDEX_TABLE, SDO_INDEX_PRIMARY,
    SDO_TSNAME, SDO_COLUMN_NAME,
    SDO_LEVEL, SDO_NUMTILES,
    SDO_MAXLEVEL, SDO_COMMIT_INTERVAL,
    SDO_FIXED_META,
    SDO_TABLESPACE,
    SDO_INITIAL_EXTENT,
    SDO_NEXT_EXTENT,
    SDO_PCTINCREASE,
    SDO_MIN_EXTENTS,
    SDO_MAX_EXTENTS
    from SDO_INDEX_METADATA_TABLE
    where
    (exists
    (select table_name from all_tables
    where table_name=sdo_index_table and owner=sdo_index_owner)
    or
    exists
    (select view_name from all_views
    where view_name=sdo_index_table and owner=sdo_index_owner)
    or
    exists
    (select table_name from all_object_tables
    where table_name=sdo_index_table and owner=sdo_index_owner)
    grant select on sdo_index_metadata to public;

Your iPad is syncd with iTunes on your computer and your iTunes account controls what's in your iPad.   Previously it must have been sync'd with another person's iTunes account in which case you need to completely clear it out to make it your own.
Go to Settings > General > Reset (at bottom) > Erase All Content and Settings
Then plug it into your computer and restore it with YOUR iTunes account.
Or if your have an iTunes account already setup under your name with your own apps and media -
Plug it into your computer, open iTunes if it doesn't open automatically and on your iPad page, click Restore
Let it proceed.  Then the iPad will no longer be looking for someone else's account.

  • I received an email saying my iphone is disabled from icloud. I don't have an  iphone I have an ipad tho. What does this mean? Is someone else's iphone connected with me?

I Received an email on my ipad saying my iphone is disabled from icloud. I don't have an iphone. Does this mean someone else is connected to my icloud or ipad?

    Hi Ceecee,
Find My iPhone is a generic term that is used for this feature regardless of whether it is turned on on an iPad or an iPhone.
If you deleted your iCloud account on your iPad, and have not signed back on to iCloud, then the Find My iPhone feature is turned off, and your device is not protected nor can it be tracked if it is stolen.
Sign back into iCloud on your iPad, and go to Settings>iCloud to turn Find My iPhone back on to remedy this situation, if you wish.
    Cheers,

I connected iPad to someone else's windows computer to charge it. Their iTunes came up, and I hit cancel. Now none of my purchased apps work. What can I do?

Okay, then what you will need to do is plug your ipad back into your friends computer; you may have to sync it with his computer, but thats okay.  When it is plugged in, click the update button.  This will take about an hour, maybe more if your friend has slow internet.  Once it is updated, reset your ipad.  When your ipad is reset, sign into your apple id.  You can now use a feature called icloud (brand new in ios 5) to download all of your apps and music you purchased back to your ipad.  You may lose some things if they were not purchased from apple, but is is better than not being able to use it at all (I think).
If you already have ios5, then this is unnecessary (it says you are using an ipad running ios4)

  • When updating my phone4 it had to be connected to itunes and as a result has picked up someone else's icloud account login. how can i remove this?

When updating my iphone 4 it had to be connected to itunes. As there is 2 other phones on the same itunes account my phone has picked up someone else's icloud login and i can not use the app store. how can i remove this?

    Hello lesley142
To sign out of what ever Apple ID is signed in, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then tap the Apple ID and you will see an option to sign out.
iOS: Sign in with a different Apple ID in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store

  • I just updated to ios7 and my phone wants me to connect to iTunes before I can do anything.  My computer is broken and I'm borrowing someone else's.  Will it try to sync with their computer? Can I get around using iTunes somehow?

I just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS7 and it wants me to connect to iTunes before I can do anything. But my computer is broken and I'm borrowing someone else's. Will it try to sync with their computer? Can I get around using iTunes somehow?  I'm new to this; any help would be appreciated!

If the device is indicating to connect to iTunes, then it is in recovery mode. You will need the computer and iTunes to recover it. You can fix the iTunes to not sync to your device, but just let it recover the phone. I hope you would have a backup of your data in iCloud, since it is no longer available to you on the phone.

Hi. I have installed Skype 6.6 and when I log in to my skype account I can see a lot of facebook contacts which are not my friends and either not my facebook contacts. When I go to home page, I can see the facebook log in is disconnected (so I cannot disconnet this) but I can see these people anyway. They are talking to me as if I were someone else. Could anyone help me please?. also i cannot remove these contacts by hand.
how can i remove the link to these people?
    thanks.

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Logging into Skype connects me to someone else's a...

I have been using Skype for about two years now without having any issues. Las Friday though I got this email that my Skype password was changed. I couldn't do anything at the moment since I was away.
The next morning when I got back home and logged into my Skype account (I always log in with my Microsoft Account, never with my Skype ID), I noticed that all my account details were changed -- name, email, hometown, picture, birth date etc. Also, my hole contact list was completely changed. Figuring that I got hacked, I went back to the email I got, which adviced me to fill in the Account Verification Form in order to report security issues with my account -- I filled all the information in, and then I waited for a response.
But during the day, chat windows started to pop up -- 'I' was talking to my contacts from another device!! But judging from the conversation I figured: I didn't get hacked, I actually logged into somebody else's account!!! (Did my Microsoft account get somehow 're-linked' to someone else's account?)
Sunday morning I managed to contact Skype Support on their dedicated chat system and I described the hole thing. The consultat promised that they would look into it as it was a very strange issue, and told me to fill in the Account Verification Form once more, which I did.
Now, each day I have been getting emails from Skype support that they couldn't process the information they got for me and to fill in the Account Verification Form and re-submit it. I have already submited the form five times now.
Could I have some advice please?
