Console - No login

Hi,
I am trying to configure no login authentication on console. Here are the configuration. But when I try to login thru console, it ask for password. I tried every password (secret & password) non is working. Please help.
aaa new-model
aaa authentication login CONSOLE none
aaa authentication enable default group tacacs+ enable line
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ local none
aaa session-id common
line con 0
exec-timeout 30 0
logging synchronous
login authentication CONSOLE

Muhammad,
Your configuration, as shown on your posting, should work as expected, ie no authentication should happen on the console. Can you post the output of "show run" (just the relevant lines, that is those starting with "aaa ... " and those following the console line.
Also, capture the debug of "debug aaa authen" and post the output.

  • Loginwindow drops to console Darwin login (no Gui)

    Hi,
I just realized I underestimated my MacBook pro Intel... My os is 10.4.8 and not 10.3.9... due to this I am reposting in the appropriate forum... (even if it seems to me that this sort of problems occurred also with previous versions of OsX)
    Hi all,
I am new to the apple forum (and new to mac Os... I usually work in a gentoo linux environment). And, since having updated system software, My mac book pro drops to the nongraphical system console right after I enter the password in the graphical login window.
With some googling I have seen that quite a few mac users are having the same problem... so I tried ALL the solutions suggested (like rebuilding the netinfo database, repairing permissions with diskutils etc etc...)
The last lines of my system.log are, as all others with my same problem, roughly like this:
    Oct 4 05:49:02 soyu crashdump151: SecurityAgent crashed
    Oct 4 05:49:03 soyu loginwindow95: AuthorizationRef doesn't have a username (<LoginAuthRefMgr: 0x3385b0>).\n
(I think this is the relevant part.... does not seem to me that the crashdump log add any relevant info)
ALL others with the same problem seem to have reverted to an Archive and Install... Might be my Linux way of thinking, but:
I am sure that there must be a possibility to solve this problem without having to reinstall all config data (the reinstall to fix philosophy is one of the things that turned me away from Windows a lot of time ago)
(I have also bootcamp installed with WinXP + parallels with linux and winXP, plus fink with a whole lot of unix dev tools.... It would take me to much time)
Does anyone have any suggestion ?
    I also have another problem:
I am trying to connect remotely to my "console only" mac, but the net is down... (I switched off AirPort just before the software update... after the update process finished asking me to reboot, I got the BSD login screen as said above)
So, reading the "command line OsX guide" I am trying to reenable AirPort and connect to my home network (so I can try doing something from my other PC, the one I'm using now).
the commands I issued are the following (I have to manually write them, since I have no network)
prompt > sudo ./networksetup-panther -setairportpower on
You cannot set AirPort power because all AirPort network services are disabled.
ok... so I have to enable services....
prompt > sudo ./networksetup-panther -setnetworkserviceenabled AirPort on
prompt > sudo ./networksetup-panther -getnetworkserviceenabled Airport
    Enabled
prompt > sudo ./networksetup-panther -setairportpower on
You cannot set AirPort power because all AirPort network services are disabled.
    ... uhhh !? (maybe I am missing something ?)
by the way, I found yesterday a file (that I can't find anymore now) telling me that among the updates were also AirPort sw and Firmware... (do not know if this helps...)
I have also tried creating a new user using dscl... once I am in interactive mode I can cd to NetInfo, but, as soon as I type cd Users the graphical GUI tries to start and, after one or two minutes drops me back to the console.

*…I am sure that there must be a possibility to solve this problem without having to reinstall all config data…*
The A&I install option allows you to preserve user and network settings.

  • OIM Design Console Invalid Login tcLoginException

    Dear All,
While trying to login to OIM Design console using design console or using the API the following error is displayed:
    Error Keyword: DAE.LOGON_DENIED
    Description: Invalid Login.
    Remedy: Contact your system administrator.
    Action: E
    Severity: H
    Help URL:
    Detail:
    com.thortech.xl.security.tcLoginException: com.thortech.xl.crypto.tcCryptoException: KeyStore File :..\xlclient\config\xl.keystore missing.
I believe the password has been changed but unable to login.
My question is how do we reset this password.
    Regards,
    Simon

Do you know password of any other user? If yes, then login into database,
execute query "select usr_password from usr where usr_login='user whose password u know'". This will return encrypted value of password. Copy it and execute query:
"update usr set usr_password='Copied password from above query' where upper(usr_login)= upper('xelsysadm');".
In this way you can set password of Xelsysadm to a known value. Now, you can login into system and change the password of System admin.
    I hope this helps.

    Hi,
I have created a virtual machine using paravirtualized Oracle Enterprise Linux 4. When I open the console and enter the login and password for the Virtual machine system username it fails to log in. It says log in incorrect. What can be the cause of this problem ?

  • Console mode, login not possible

    Hi all,
I'm using OS X Yosemite and want to login as ">console" to open a terminal based access to my Mac.
The console login appears a few seconds and afterwards in turns in a black screen only showing the mouse pointer. It is not possible to enter my username ans password when the login line appears. Therefore, it is not possible for me to login into the system. I have to do a hard reboot.
Is there a possibility to fix this problem? I just want to login without the GUI.
    Thanks,
    markus

Once you are in the web browser:
You can log in by using:
-Portal URL.System will ask you email as ID
-URL that directs you to ITS( is an URL that contains the string BBPSTART).System will ask you your user ID, PW and  client.
My point is to check if ITS is working and portal not.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abraham

  • Admin Console Applet Login Connection Error

    Hello,
I have done some Corba programming before and now I want to do more
serious work on Tuxedo. So I wish you will bear with my simple questions.
    - I have brought up Tuxwsvr and wlisten (no errors) and listner is
running on port 3050 (windows platform)
    - Now I open the web admin page and insert my login/pass (I have
controled it in the "tlisten.pw" file and its correct.
    - The applet issues the error : "Connection Failed"
I appreciate if someone can help or forward me to an FAQ if this is a
    frequently asked question.
    Regards,
    Mac

    Mac,
This error usually indicates tuxwsvr can not connect to the wlisten. So you
need to make sure wlisten started correctly.
The default port for "tlisten" is 3050, if you specify it to wlisten in the
%TUXDIR%\udataobj\webgui\webgui.ini, then wlisten can not bind to the same
    port.
So I would suggest configure another port and have a try.

There is no error. Is there another domain on your OS? can you please put here your config.xml file and your login screen image here.
May be you use wrong console to login.

  • Slim: want login root to console and user to xfce

Just got Arch installed and running for the first time a couple of days ago.
I got slim to log in to user and launch xfce ok.
I cannot seem to get slim to start a console on the same laptop.  If I type console in slim it doesn't accept that.  It will log in as root to xfce if I have that in root's .xinitrc, but I cannot seem to log in as root to console.

I more of less got this working like I want now.  Instead of using console for login, I use root.  I have the following for my .xinitrc file in root.
    #!/bin/sh
    # ~/.xinitrc
    # Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
    if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ]; then
      for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/*; do
        [ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
      done
      unset f
    fi
    # exec gnome-session
    # exec startkde
    # exec startxfce4
    # ...or the Window Manager of your choice
exec xterm -geometry 227x59 -fg white -bg black
I have the login command for slim in /etc/slim.conf to be:  login_cmd           exec /bin/bash -login ~/.xinitrc %session
With this setup I can log in as user, but not console.
If I use the login command for slim in /etc/slim.conf:  login_cmd           exec /bin/sh /etc/X11/Xsession
I can login as console but not as a user straight to xfce4.
EDIT:  Edited -geometry setting as it was extending beyond the deskop.  Got previous setting from another forum post.

  • Portal Administration Console Login

    Hello!
I have integrated Oracle Weblogic Server with Oracle Identity Manager to achive Single Sign On. In IDM is set form login.
    My base_domain configuration is : AdminServer and a Cluster_0 with two managed servers : Server_1 and Server_0.
I have as proxy server : Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) for each server : Admin-Server, Server-0, Server-1.
I targeted my portal app to cluster. My portal application contains Portal Administration Console, avaibled at /myAppAdmin.
Security Providers are (in this order):
    1. OAMIDAsserter - Oracle Access Manager Identity Asserter( Control Flag : REQUIRED, Active Types : ObSSOCookie)
    2. OIDAuthentificator - Provider that performs LDAP authentication (Control Flag: SUFFICIENT )
    3. DefaultAuthenticator - Weblogic Authentication Provider ( Control Flag : SUFFICIENT
    4. DefaultIdentityAsserter - Weblogic Identity Assertion provider.
When I access Portal Administration Console from /myAppAdmin (admin-tools.war)
         1. I login first in IDM with the user from LDAP : weblogic_ldap. The login is ok and the ObSSOCookie is set.
         2. I am redirected to login from Portal Administration Console (this thing is wrong and I want to jump this step. I want to go directly in Portal Administration Console after the first login).
         3. I login in the second login page from Portal Administration Console with the same user : weblogic_ldap. The login has succeed.
         4. I am logged in Portal Administration Console and I can add content ( for exemple)
What I have to do to have only the login form from IDM. To have the only two steps:
    1. Login in Portal Administration Console using login form from IDM and a LDAP user
    2. Access the Portal Administration Console
    I have tried :
I have changed domain security Default Model : "Advanced" , set Combined Role Mapping Enabled to "FALSE", set Check Roles and Policies to
"ALL Web applications and EJBs" and selected for When Deploying Web Applications or EJBs: "Ignore roles and policies to DD".
After this changes I deployed myApp which contains /myAppAdmin Console with Security policies set to Advanced.
I have only the IDM login, the correct one, and after that I am able to see first page of the Portal Administration Console and whatever I click I receive the error:

I have to modified admin-tools.war or something in domain's security or myApp's descriptors to be able to login in Portal Administration Console
using only SSO and not both SSO and default login?
    Thank you for helping me.

    no idea? :(

  • Unable to login on console after RADIUS configuration on switch.

I'm having some problems logging on to a switch via console after applying RADIUS-config.
When using telnet I can log on.
But when trying to log on via console I'm getting:
    User Access Verification
    Username: xxx
    Password: xxx
    % Authentication failed
What I want to acheive here is to use radius for telnet & ssh, and the local user account for console.
    What am I missing here?
    Here's my aaa config.
aaa authentication login default group radius local
aaa authentication enable default group radius enable
    aaa authorization console
aaa authorization exec default group radius local
    Thanks!

Sorry, I was too fast. Cut and paste error from my notes. Anyway, the basics are when you want to enable AAA on IOS, but for console access you want to use the local database then you need to do following steps:
    1. Define local usernames: username xxx password yyy
    2. Configure aaa new-model
    3. Configure a named AAA authentication list: aaa authentication login LIST local
    4. Attach the named AAA authentication list to the console line: login authentication LIST
If you want to use the local database only as fallback in case the aaa servers are not responding you use: aaa authentication login LIST group radius local
In above example no_radius is your LIST name. So, if you remove the password from the line con 0, and change aaa authentication login no_radius enable to aaa authentication login no_radius local, and attach this one to your line con 0, you will be using the local database for line con 0. The default list is still used on tty, vty and aux.
If you use aaa authentication login no_radius group radius local instead of aaa authentication login no_radius local you are using the local database as a fallback.
    Kind regards
(Sorry, not able to test this at this time so this is purely theory from my notes)

  • Svc:/system/console-login:default failed repeatedly

I am in desperate need of help. I installed some patches from Sun Update Manager and rebooted as instructed. My system comes up but when I tried to login through the console, the login prompt keeps coming back, thus no users can log into the system. I even tried to ssh into the system and when I enter my username and password, I get a blank screen and cannot do anything.
I use a laptop to access the system through a hyperterminal serial port and when I navigate through directories as root, I cannot run ls commands or more on files. I do see an error message using the ls command:
ld.so.1:ls: fatal: libsec.so.1: version 'SUNW_1.2' not found (required by file /usr/bin/ls)
open failed: No such file or directory
    Killed
When I use the svcs command, I see that the svc:/system/console-login:default is on maintainance. I disabled it and tried to enable it again, but the service stays offline. I tried all kinds of svcadm commands to get the service running, but nothing works.
I also tried killin the sulogin so that the sulogin service becomes disabled and enable system/console-login, but that didnt work either.
I tried using the svccfg steps, nadda. Can someone help? Thanks.

    11:01am up 98 days 20:02, 2 users, load average: 1.02, 1.02, 1.04
Actually all services are running like nis and nfs properly and all can login using ssh remotely, system is not rebooted that I am seeing this maintenance root password message,
when I killed sulogin process , then console-login seemed to go online but then again went to maintenance mode..

  • Not able to login Weblogic Console with port 80

    Hi Guys,
I was trying to access WebLogic Console with port 80, but failed. However, it works with port 8100. I have closed the IIS service and login PeopleSoft application successfully.
Did anyone run into this issue before?
    Bob

    Thank you for your input.
First, I am using the URL http://webserver:80/console to login to the console.
Second, the PIA is multi server domain.
Third, I re-created the PIA with new port so I think files setenv.cmd and config.xml have reflected any changes for the port numbers.
By the way, as I said, I have closed the service of IIS and can login PeopleSoft application with port 80 successfully. So, it should not be an issue with IIS.
