Consume portal WSNavigator WS

Hi,
I'm trying to consume portal (KM) WS, published at the WSNavigator.
1. i browsed to portal's "Web Services Navigator".
2. WS was selected (out of Available Web Services).
3. click on the "WSDLs" link
4. downloaded wsdl.
my questions are:
1. what is the differted between WSDL and SAP WSDL ? which should i prefered?
2. both WSDL are actually composed outof: "main.wsdl", bindings (i.e., "Config1_document.wsdl") and porttypes (i.e., "Config1_KMIndexSvcStdrWSVi_document.wsdl" and "Config1_KMNodeServiceSnrdWSVi_document.wsdl"). in oreder to import wsdl definisions into my PI i must used single WSDL file (correct?) and therefore i have to assemble these files into one WSDL. what tool can i used to do so? is there a better way to handle these muliple WSDL files?

If your WSDL file is referring multiple files then you should import all the files in XI.
If you try opening your WSDL does it open without any error....if yes then the reference is done properly.

This message appears above the BO Infoview login screen. The userid part is pre-populated with my user id.
BM7CLNT100 is our producer portal. BEx Iviews are working fine from consumer portal. Am I supposed to pass any extra application parameter? Could you please help me out with this issue?

Thanks for the reply. Both the links you have mentioned are problems that I am not facing. I have no SSO issue in the producer portal. It logs me in and takes me directly to the Webi report. I have the error occuring only when I try to access this report from the consumer portal exposed as remote role.
This is the path it is taking.
consumer portal to producer portal (SSO) - working
producer portal to BO (SSO) - working
but consumer portal to BO through producer portal - not working

FPN - Saving BI Links (KM Bookmarks) to the Consumer Portal Favorites

Hi, I'm posting this message again in hopes that either a mentor, SAP person, or Portal Expert can help. I have received several emails from people looking to do the same thing I am. The problem seems like a major integration gap between Portals and BI.
We use a Federated Portal Network where the Enterprise Portal (EP) is the Consumer Portal and the BI
Portal (BP) is the Producer Portal. BI Report Users access BI Reports from the Enterprise Portal through Remote Role Assignment.
BI Report "Save As" functionality allows you to save a "KM Bookmark" to the BI Portal Favorites. I am specifically looking to save a "KM Bookmark" to the Enterprise Portal(Consumer) Favorites and NOT the BI Portal(Producer). This only makes sense since our users only have access to the Enterprise Portal.
Our users are accessing their BI Reports from the Enterprise Portal and the users would like to save a link (KM Bookmark) to their Enterprise Portal Favorites. Currently, it looks like the "Save As" Functionality for saving "KM Bookmarks" is only allowing (Pointing) us to save the KM bookmarks to our BI Portal.
1. In an FPN Environment can we save a "KM Bookmark" Link to a BI Report into the Enterprise (Consumer) Portal Favorites?
2. If we are in a FPN Environment and users cannot save KM Bookmarks to Enterprise Portal Favorites and can only put "KM Bookmarks" in the BI Portal then how are users to access their links from the Enterprise Portal Environment?
3. Just a note. I think these saved links are called KM Bookmarks. You can see this from the BI Report "Save As" dialog. If you do a search through SAP Documentatiion you do not see a single reference to "KM Bookmark".
4. I have found OSS Note1149597, but I do not believe this addresses this exact issue
If anyone can provide some valuable insight into this Portal and BI Integration it would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone seen any new information on this? The described behavior makes the BI query "save" function completely useless in the context of an FPN consumer portal.
Note [1149597|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1149597] is very little help as near as I can tell. We tested the "fix" in a DEV environment, and while it technically "resolves" the problem with where the favorites get saved, we end up with all of our BI content actually being "published" to the consumer by the BEx tools. This sort of defeats the purpose of implementing an FPN in the first place, even if the requests are redirected back to the producer by the recommended BEx iView mods.
We have implemented a work-around by creating a RDL in our consumer portal to the producer portal's standard "Portal Favorites" iView. However, we're not happy with this solution as we end up with multiple "favorites" areas in our central consumer portal (one for remote BI content and another for "local" favorites). We also don't want to maintain the favorties that get saved to the producer portal.

Punchout Catalog Items are not transfering to Consumer Portal (SRM 7.0)

We are able to add a punch out calatog after check out items are not tranfered to Consumer Portal ( Not able to see selected items in shop screen). Same thing is working fine with Producer Portal.
1. Tried with RDL and RRA.
2. Internal Calatog isworking fine in both portals.
3. Checked all the permission and role assigmnment. every thing is fine and working fine except Punchout Catalog.

We have checked with Internal URL and it is working fine. So i feel we dont have any issue with BADI.
We have identified the difference between Dev( Working fine) and QA (Not Working) in HTTPWatch log.
When we test navigation for Punchout Catalog in Dev : Consumer (External URL) --> Producer (External URL) --> Externla Stie
When we test navigation for Punchout Catalog in QA : Consumer (External URL) --> Producer (Internal URL) --> Externla Stie
So BASIS and Portal team compared DEV and QA and did not find any difference.

How to share/manage UWL/KM and collaboration with TWO consumer portals?

I'm working with a customer who is configuring a large enterprise landscape consisting of 2 federated portals with the two consumer portals sharing info.
Federated portal A is the primary corporate portal with respective producers.
Federated portal B is a regional producer portal with multiple back end producers.
IF they wish to configure UWL, I realize they can do this on each consumer portal. But how can someone logging into portal A see all their work items from UWL on A and UWL on B without creating two iviews (one for each UWL)? I bascially want to be able to share the UWL from one consumer portal to another. I haven't seen this in any docs, though. Anyone have experience with this?
Likewise, what is the best way to share collaboration rooms and other related services? Should they be configured on the consumer side of each federated portal, and if so - the same question arises - how to share the collaboration data between the two consumers.

we faced your first issue some months ago and found out that there is only the possibility to use 2 UWL iViews.
Maybe this has changed in the last releases.

Error when launching GP UWL tasks from consumer portal

In our federated portal network we have configured the universal worklist in the consumer portal to display guided procedure tasks from a producer portal - both portals are NW 7.0 SP14.
All GP tasks from the producer portal are displayed in the consumer portal without issue.
When we attempt to launch one of the GP tasks in the consumer portal we recieve the following error - Could not retrieve process instance: contact your system administrator.
If we launch the GP tasks in the producer portal there are no issues.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

I worked through this issue with SAP support.
For the ItemType with name="uwl.task.gp.XXX", where XXX is the system alias of the remote GP system.
Changed attribute from defaultAction="launchGP" to defaultAction="editItem" because the name of the Action described for this itemType is "editItem".
The action handler that is used is "UrlLauncher" (handler="UrlLauncher") but this handler works only with attribute launchInNewWindow="yes". So in all actions with attribute handler="UrlLauncher" change the attribute launchInNewWindow from "no" to launchInNewWindow="yes".
Uploaded new uwl.gp.config.xml with high priority.

Producer content is not visible in Consumer portal in FPN

we have configured FPN and the connection is successful, but we are not able to see the Producer content in Consumer portal.
and we are not able to search the producer roles from Identity Management of Consumer also.
We did,
1. we configured trust between two portals.
2. Registered Producer.
3. Remote_role with actions aslo added in Producer.

Check whether you have proper permissions on the pcd objects (roles/pages/iviews) in producer portal.
Also check the producer roles have entry point 'Yes'.
Also you should logon to the producer with the same role atleast once as you are assigning the producer role in conusmer portal(RRA). This is the limitation in FPN.

FPN Scenario -- Consumer Portal upgrade to EHP1 SP3

We're upgrading our consumer portal from 7.0 sp15 to 7.01 (ehp1) sp3. Our two producer portals are going to stay on 7.0 sp14 and 7.0 sp15. We're using federated as well as KM webdav (from consumer to producer).
I looked at all the notes and searched the forums and found no one having issues with the consumer portal being on EHP1 and the producer being on just 7.0.
Did anyone find any issues with this scenario?

What issues did you have with having different SP levels? Are you having issues using RDL, RRA, or RAI?
I thought the main advantages of FPN was that so that we can maintain the sync between the the abap and java stacks. For example, we have the following scenario:
Consumer: NW 7.0 sp15
R/3 Producer: NW 7.0 sp14 with abap
BW Producer: NW 7.0 sp15 with abap
As long as I keep my consumer portal version >= any of the producers version, I'll be ok.
I would think that upgrading your producer portal and not having it aligned with your abap stack would cause you more issues than keeping it aligned with abap and having different versions on producers and consumer.

BI query not properly displaying in Consumer Portal - Through FPN - RRA

Hi Everyone,
we have implemented FPN between EP 7.0 and BI 7.0 . A role with BI reports (iview created using Bex7.0 template) are working fine in BI Portal.
When its RRA to a users in EP-consumer portal, its not coming properly. I mean it shows some default header/Menu (like New Analysis Open, Save As, Information, Send etc..) in EP but not displaying the details of the report. Other URL iviews are working fine in RRA, just BI query is not coming properly. All pre-requisite for FPN is done properly and SSO configured.

Producer portal iviews are not rendered on Consumer portal.

Hello People,
We are currently in the process of upgrading our portal from EP7.4 SP03 to EP 7.4 SP07.
There are some remote iviews that we take from another portal.
These remote role assignment iviews do not open and no reports open assigned with them giving us the below error:
Could not open iView. The iView is not compatible with your browser,
operating system, or device. Contact your system administrator for more
information
These iviews work with IE9,IE11 but not with Chrome on the Consumer portal
These iVIews are rendering on the Producer portal (EP7.0) but not on the Consumer,newer version.
The issue with the remote iViews is only on Chrome. I did not find any SAP note or patch that can help with the compatibility for Chrome.
Does anyone has idea regarding this?
Any help is appreciated.

After some discussions with SAP support, we got a response saying that currently Chrome browser is not supported for Producer portal reports (See SAP Note 1655306 - Google Chrome for end
users and administrators).
Hence, we need to continue using only IE for such cases.

i followed the basic steps like
1 establishing the trust between portals
2 regestration of producer portal in consumer portal
I am able to see the roles created in producer portal in consumer portal with the help of User administration--Identity management tool
the probelm we are facing is when i assign the role in consumer portal to a user it is not getting assigned but it is getting assigned in the producer portal
pls let what i need to do inorder for the producer role to be assigned to consumer portal user

already saw this several times. Unfortuantely, it never was a FPN error. It always was human error:
Confused by the Consumer / Producer concept the Admin created the role assignment in the producer and not in the consumer.
Just check that you are really using the consumer.
If so, consider opening up an OSS message.

In a FPN scenario, is it possible to use the Navigation Tag Library in the consumer portal for the top level navigation? I have developed a custom top level navigation based on the navigation tag library, but when navigating to the role of the producer and back again I can no longer view the roles in the consumer portal.

I know this was posted a long time ago, but I'm currently experiencing a similar issue in the TLN between a federated CE and EP portal. Did you manage to resolve your problem? In my case it looks like when you access the CE content from EP it cannot find its way back to EP when clicking on another link on the EP side. Looking at the logs it seems as if it's looking for the content on the CE system even though it's obviously not there.

How to link directly to a remotely assigned role in consumer Portal?

For our SRM implementation in the SAP NetWeaver Portal, we need to change the link in the emails. For example, if a user needs to approve a shopping cart, he receives an email with a link that sends him directly to the work item in the enterprise buyer.
So , we have created an iView for the Inbox of SRM. We have agreed with the customer that we change the link in the email that is being sent to a direct link to the Inbox in the Portal.
So we want the user to click on the link in the mail and to get directed to the Inbox iView in the Portal.
We use remote role assignment, so the Inbox iView is located on a producer portal. Users however, only have access to the consumer portal, where they are assigned the remote role.
My question is: How can we make a link that directs the user direclty to the remote role on the consumer Portal?
I have tried remote deltalinking, but that does not seem to work very well combined with remote role assignment. Any tip is highly appreciated and points will be awarded.

How to make Federated Portal Network Content available in a Consumer Portal

Hello Experts,
we have the following situation:
We have two NW 7.0 Portals: 1 Main Portal on and 1 BI-Portal
We would like to do a remote role assignment via the Federated Portal option in the Portal, so that we can make the BEX-Explorer role from the BI Portal available in our main Portal.
I've already created a connection to the BI-Portal (Producer-Portal) in "Federated Portal" and have already registered the main portal as the Consumer in the BI Portal. I used SAP Help for that:

first of all i would check that the SSO is working between the two portals..
Log into one of the portal.. Change the URL to the other portal. If you have to log in, then there is a problem with your SSO. Remember to have enough permission on both the portal.
If that works, then log into the consumer portal and check what you find in the portal content of the producer portal.
