Control Indicators in inspection plan

Hi QM Experts,
I created MICs and assigned the selected set and assigned the control indicators. But when i create the inspection plan for the material and assign the MIC, system is not copying the control indicators from MIC.
This is happening only in the production client. In the quality client, system works fine and copies the control indicators maintained in MIC to inspection plan.
I checked all the configurations but could not find anything related.
Can anybody help?

It doesnu2019t matter whether it is complete or incomplete MIC as far as copying of control indicators from MIC to inspection plan is concerned.
If you are dealing with incomplete MIC, then at the time of inspection plan creation you need to specify lower, upper, target values, may be decimal places and selected set in case of qualitative MIC.
Control indicators mean the various ticks that you choose while creating MIC in QS21, for example, Lower, Upper, Target values tick, fixed scope, or required, optional characteristic etc.
I think system will never behave contradictorily in quality and production server because itu2019s certainly not a customizing issue.
What I would suggest is, note down what control indicators you have chosen for MIC in QS24.
While creating inspection plan, use this MIC. If itu2019s incomplete give necessary information and proceed. Select the entire MIC line and click on control indicator tab. Note down what indicators it shows.
I am sure would be same.

QP01 Inspection Plans

I am trying to upload inspection plan master data in QP01 tcode.
I was given a program in BDC which does the same. but the problem with this program is that....its not updating inspection characteristics after 13th record. line is not getting incremented. Below is my code .plz help

There is no such direct mapping table, cross-table or Function module that describes how the Qualitative/Quantative fields are populated.
SAP follows certain mapping to populate the values for these fields this can be cheked in SCN for Qualitative and Quantitative control indicators mapping.
Secondly to update these indicators in Inspection plan load, you can use the STEUERKZ field value from QPMK table.
This field is concatenation of the 28 control indicators (QMKST structure for Quali/Quantitative fields).
So while uploading the data for Inspection plan, Inspection chracteristics are updated in system first where STEUERKZ can be updated.
Vice versa to know what each indicator value signifies in
the field QPMK-STEUERKZ, we can use the function module QSS0_QMKST_RQMST.

Create Inspection Plan -LSMW -Direct Input -Error with Control Indicators

I am creating Inspection Plans using LSMW-DIRECT INPUT Method.
Although MIC's control indicator parameters are correct while creating a plan it is changing the control indicator parameters.
how can we suppress this?

what does that mean? did they lose the source that should be used to load the data from?
without source you cannot load data.
Had you ever got this source file? how? by mail, then check your old mails and take it from there, ask the sender to he/she checks the SENT folder in his mail system. Maybe someone has a local copy of this fille.

QA32 screen shot suggests material has Revision level as "B".
Now Check Revision level for Inspection plan.

Check the Bapi documentation....
Enter the reference for the master inspection characteristic in the field CHA_MASTER_IMPORT_MODUS (mode for reference to the master inspection characteristic).
"L" for reference
In this case, the master inspection characteristic must be completely maintained. In parameter INSPCHARACTERISTIC, you must only enter data in the fields, in which data cannot be transferred from the master inspection characteristic.
"C" for copy (flexible reference)
In this case, the data is copied from the master inspection characteristic to the inspection characteristic.
"N" for creating a flexible reference
In this case, no data is transferred from the master inspection characteristic. You must enter all fields in parameter INSPCHARACTERISTIC.
For "L" or "C", you can copy the control indicators for the inspection characteristic directly from the master inspection characteristic. For "N" or if you do not enter a master inspection characteristic, you must enter the control indicators individually or enter a key for the control indicators in field PRESET_CTRL_INDS_KEY, if you have defined this key in Customizing.

MIC changes in routing/inspection plan

Hi, we have created qualitative inspection characterisics (without characteristics attribute control indicator) with incomplete copy model type. This is already assigned in inspection plan and in routing. Now our users want to assign characteristics attribute. We changed the MIC control indicators. this is not reflecting in the routing/inspection plan.
Could anyone suggest the best way to update the inspection characteristics in inspection plan as well as in routing.

1.Check Inspection Setup What u have given
2.Create a Quality Work center with control Key QM01
3.Create Master Inspection Characteristic in QS21
4.Create Quality Plan QP01 make sure your usage type 5 0r 6
5.Assign inspection characteristics in master inspection whatever u have created in QS21 save
6.Go to QA32 check with selection by material or by plant
7.Then go to QE51n and run by selection condition by material or by plant Results recording starts
Then click on the Inspection lot make the inspection and save it will prompt saying that results save under operation
9.Then go to Usage decision QA32
10.Move Material From Quality To Unrestricted.

Hi,
Please also check under QM client settings in SPRO to ensure that the "replace master inspection characteristics" box is ticked as this will allow changes in the MIC to update the references in the inspection plan. Also check the QM settings at plant level if you have ticked master inspection characteristics with history then if you do a change in the MIC it will create a new version and not update the inspection plans. If this is ticked you will have to manually go into the inspection plan and assign the new MIC version.

Lower Specification Limit and Upper Specification Limit on Inspection Plan

I'm trying to input the lower and upper specification limit on inspection plan. I created my inspection characteristic but when I trying to digit the values, the systems erase that and give me the values from the inspection characteristics

1.     While creating MIC you create it with upper, lower and target limits.
2.     The same MIC when you use in inspection plan, all the control indicators and lower, upper values get copied in to inspection plan from MIC.
3.     In fact this is the reason you can use this characteristic for several material.
Kindly excuse me as I could not interpret the term when I trying to digit the values . To digit value means what?
Whether you want to put different values in inspection plan rather than getting copied from MIC? If yes, you can do so. Just overwrite the values on QP01/QP02 and save.

Inspection lot creation based on "right" inspection plan version

I manage inspection plan ( inspection lot origin 01 ) with Change number; in this way I have differents inspection plan version based on date.
When I do a Good Entry based on purchase order , I need that system creates inspection lot version based on the purchase order creation date and not , as now, based on good entry date
Is it possible ?
When I create the purchase order I send to vendor also the inspection plan characteristich that have to be maintened ; for this reason I need to find same characterist during good entry inspection

You need to use one of the enhancements that Do-Wook has suggested. There is no standard SAP way to suppress the inspection based on the vendor batch number.
With the first enhancement you use the system to check for a previously received vendor batch and if one is found, then that batch number is proposed and not the next one from the numbering series. In this case, the lot isn't created than due to the inspection lot control of the inspection type.
With the second enhancement you check the vendor batch number and if it's been received you suppress the inspection lot creation and the stock goes right to unrestricted.
You'll probably need to do one or the other. Myself, I prefer the first enhancement.

Error in LSMW in Uploading Inspection Plan in QP01

Hi All,
I am facing problem when executing LSMW, I am Uploading Inspection Plan in QP01 transaction using Direct Input methos. The problem is on 13th step :Error that I get is 'No profile with entry tool for task list / / / in session INSPECTION_OBJ', here INSPECTION_OBJ is the name of the session. I have given the constant value of field profile (BIPKO-PROFIDNETZ) in mapping step and also activated check box 'entry tool' under profile to remove this error. But in that case i can pass only the header data while processing the session and control does not get into Operation and characteristic screen.
Can anyone pls help me..

You might need to redo the recording all over again, BDC has plentty of scenario for screen selection to go wrong, so can't really tell what cause your problem based on your desc. I have been stop using BDC to uplaod material since 5 years ago, I always use Direct input in LSMW and it works much better. I recomend you try the Direct input method instead of BDC if still getting problem.

Inspection plan creation

hi all,
i am creating inspection plan using bapi 'BAPI_INSPECTIONPLAN_CREATE' . it is creating but the issue is in table 'INSPCHARACTERISTIC' there is a field 'SEL_SET1' which is getting populated automatically in transaction and i want that value to be replaced by the one i am passing in table
'INSPCHARACTERISTIC' but it is not happening.
Is thers any specific way to get it done through this bapi or is there any exit or badi to perform this task?

Yes, I have seen that field.
You can enter a value for this field only if it is Qualitative characteristic.
So while populating Qualitative or quantitative indicator values for
IF INSPCHARACTERISTIC-QUANTITATIVE_IND = 'X'
INSPCHARACTERISTIC-SEL_SET1 = 'Your value'
ENDIF.
If it's Quantitative Do not even pass any value for this field. Not even space.
In debuggin you can check the INSPCHARACTERISTIC-SEL-SET1 value. It will have the value you passed.
When I worked on it I remember that there are a whole lot of indicators which are specific to Quantitative or Qualitative. You will have to split the code for them to pass the values separately.
Note: All the above can happen only if the SEL_SET1 is not defaulted to have a value in configuration.

SAP QM Default Inspection Plan for all Inspection Lots created in the Plant

Scenario: We have a Proto type plant in which Daily 15 to 20 materials are created every day. We have only one inspection plan for all the materials.
Problem: We don't want to do material assignment in the Inspection Plant header every time a new material is created
Requirement: Is there any way to default the inspection plan for all the inspection lots created in the Plant by Standard Configuration or User Exit.

Hi,
In our case Creation of Inspection lots are controlled by QM View of Material Master. Our problem is to find alternative for assignment of New Materials in the Plan header in Tcode QP02, as we have only ONE INSPECTION PLAN. So our expection is all QM Inspection Lot created in the Plant should always get assigned to the SINGLE INSPECTION PLAN, with out doing any assignment of material in the Plan.

Inspection Plan & MIC status.

Dear SAP,
We have a requirement that QC will creat the MIC & Inspection Plan in status created, and QA will review and change the status from Created to Release.So where or in which object level i can put control so that QC not able to select the Status 4 for inspection plan, and Release for MIC.
