  • I have windows 7I have downloaded most updates and use no mobile devices just use itunes my pc. what programs can I eleminate as I'm running out of memory?

What itunes/sony programs can I elimnate from my pc if I only use it on my pc?  I have no mobile devices and afraid Im have sony, safari browser and other programs on my computer. I routinely down loaded all updates and afraid I have many uneeded programs and also have problems of running out of memory, can somebody help

Thank you for your quick response, BalusC. I really appreciate your answer.
Yes, you are right. If I manually code the same amount of those components in the JSF pages instead of generating them dynamically, the server will still run out of memory. That is to say, JSF pages might not accommodate a great deal of concurrent visiting. If I upgrade the server to just allow 1,000 teachers making their own test papers at the same time, but when over 2,000 students take the same questionnaire simultaneously, the server will need another upgrading. So I have to do what you have told me, using JS+DOM instead of upgrading the server endlessly.

  • I use my mobile device as hotspot to connect desktop to internet, can't sync until I stop hotspot. Its' a catch 22

The hotspot function of the Mobile device replaces my old dsl service with local phone company.....but I can't be on the mobile device browsing the internet at the same time the hotspot is enabling the desktop to connect to the internet. In order to sync Firefox bookmarks, etc. it seems this is a catch-22. Any work-arounds? I can't believe I am the only one using my Droid X as a hotspot to connect my desktop computer.

    Hi reeves2!
I believe the answer to your question is found in the link you have mentioned in your post, which I will echo and highlight here:
    iOS: Understanding Personal Hotspot
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4517
You cannot use your Wi-Fi connection for Internet connectivity while other devices are using Wi-Fi for Personal Hotspot. You can share only a cellular data connection; you cannot share a Wi-Fi connection.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

Apple doesn't have full control over what they can sell in each country or region. The copyright owners control that.

  • IPhonne could not be used because Apple Mobile Device Service has not start

So I updated to iTunes 10.1.1.4 this morning, Since there was some "performance improvement". Worst decision ever because my iPhone 3GS does not want to connect to iTunes anymore I first got an error from Apple Software Updater that it couldn't install so I went on apples website and downloaded and successfully installed it.
I then get this random error about a service.
Here's an image of what the message is when I try and get it to connect to iTunes
    http://i.screensnapr.com/mjaw7p.png
Once I saw this my first instinct was to go to Service and start it up myself! It was started so I restarted it! I then get this error
    http://lulzimg.com/i01/c0ef8bae.png
So my last option was to uninstall every apple product(including bonjour, itunes, apple mobile support etc.) and restart my computer, Install again THEN restart computer. Still got the same service error. I did a CHKDSK on my computer afterwards to see what was wrong and found nothing. I really don't know what to do now except ask here. I will not format my computer since I have very important files.
P.S. When Uninstalling, I deleted registry files, everything that apple left over.

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device
That's unusual ... it's a 32-bit version of Apple Mobile Device Support that is crashing (taking the report at face value), but you've got a 64-bit system. Ever since the first iTunes 9.x version, AMDS has been 64-bit.
So I think we should try scraping all your AMDS and iTunes componentry out of there (especially the old 32-bit AMDS stuff), and then reinstalling the 64-bit iTunes (which normally should reinstall the 64-bit AMDS).
I'd also take some extra explicit precautions along the way, just in case. Best to print out a copy of these instructions, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    Preliminaries
Download and save a fresh copy of the iTunes64Setup.exe (64-bit installer file) to your Hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't start the uninstall just yet.)
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Quit the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows if you have it installed and open. (Ay least some versions of that also use Apple Mobile Device Support, and so may interfere with the AMDS uninstall if they are open.)
    *Uninstall Phase*
Head into your "Uninstall a program" control panel. Uninstall iTunes. Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.
Next we'll remove any left-over program files and folders.
In "Computer" open "Local Disk C:" (or whichever drive you have your program files installed on).
    Open the "Program Files" folder.
Right-click on the "iTunes" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
*Staying in the "Program Files" folder,* open the "Common Files" folder.
    Open the "Apple" folder.
Right-click on the "Mobile Device Support" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Go back into "Local Disk C:" (or whichever drive you have your program files installed on).
Open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Right-click on the "iTunes" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Staying in the "Program Files (x86)" folder, open the "Common Files" folder.
    Open the "Apple" folder.
Right-click on the "Mobile Device Support" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Empty your Recycle Bin.
    *Reinstall Phase*
Restart the PC. After the PC restarts do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
Now start the reinstall by doubleclicking the iTunes64Setup.exe file you downloaded earlier. (This should also reinstall the 64-bit Apple Mobile Device Support.)
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Does the install go through properly? If so, is the 64-bit Apple Mobile Device Service running now? If it is running, can you connect to the iPhone now?

  • ActiveSync has stopped on Mobile Device

I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 to access my work emails through Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Just over a week ago it no longer shows all the emails in the account only the current and prior day. When the application opens now it appears to jump or skip when
it initially loads. I've tried removing the account and reloading but no luck there. When I check the application manager in the device the only button on for me to use is the clear cache, the other four buttons are grayed out.
Is there any way to reload or reset the application, or even remove and re-install?
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards,
    Steve

Exchange doesn't control which messages the mobile device shows, that's a setting on the mobile device itself.  My Android sets that to three days by default and it's changeable on a folder basis in the folder's properties.

    Help!!
    ITunes exe - Bad Image
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\MobileDeviceSupport\iTunesMobileDevice.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.
Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
    Can anyone help me please!??

If we take the error message at face value, you've got a damaged Apple Mobile Device Support program file there, carmelle.
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select Apple Mobile Device Support, and click "Repair".
Does that fix up the error message for you?

When I go to access my albums from any app on my phone or iPad, I cannot access the iCloud albums, only the albums synced with iTunes/iPhoto manually.  This is frustrating because I cannot add to those albums from mobile device, I have to add to them during a Mac sync.  I would like to be able to use my iCloud albums to organize my photos but if I cannot access them from apps it seems pointless.  I will end up having to maintain both an iCloud library and a separate iPhoto library which is more work that seems necessary.  I want everything easy to organize and access.  It seems like in this age where most people are more likely to use their mobile devices than their Macs (and some do not even own Macs) that there should be a mobile solution.  Hopefully I am simply without a clue and you folks can help me out with a fix or a source of info as a solution.  I have not found answers yet.

  • ITunes/Apple Mobile Device works fine w/iPod but not iPad

Hi. I'm getting stuck on this and would like some help to solving this problem. Basically I'm trying to sync my iPad; however, whenever I connect it, this meesage pops up: "this iPad cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device is not started." The problem is that when I try to plug in an iPod using the same wire, it works fine, no problem, but the iPad just won't connect. I have since uninstall and reinstall all Apple components (iTunes, AMD, QuickTime, etc) and it's still the same thing...iTunes connects fine w/ the iPod, but not the iPad. What to do? Thnx in advance.
    EDIT:
Btw, I've tried to connect the iPad while the iPod is connected, and the "Apple Mobile Device is not started" error message pops up too, which is weird, because the iPod is connected and syncing at that time...which means the Apple Mobile Device thing IS started. >.>

The iOS devices use Apple Mobile Device Service, while older iPods use the iPod Service.
Checkout this Apple document -> How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
Are you able to restart the service after following the steps in that article?

  • Windows Mobile Device Center no longer supported?

I have a customer that has some Motorola Windows Mobile 6.5 devices.   They were trying to get their devices connected to their PCs with Windows Mobile Device Center and were running into problems.  They contacted Microsoft Tech support and were
told that the Windows Mobile Device Center is no longer a supported product.  Is there any truth to that?  How the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS still be supported but the Windows Mobile Device Center is not?  Their IT team will not let them install/use
    Windows Mobile Device center now.

I think this is what you need. you can find the Microsoft product support lifecycle in here:

  • Please tell me it's possible to download MP3 to your mobile device.

    Hello,
I'm simply trying to offer a downloadable podcast (MP3) through our Saba LMS for computer and mobile device.
So far, PC isn't a problem to download, but how can my user download the MP3 using their mobile device? I can only think that it has to be emailed to them, then accessed through their mail app and saved it there. I mean, how do you download anything w/ a phone/tablet? I couldn't if I was using a browser app (Safari, etc.) on my iPhone.
Does anyone ever need to do this? I'm sorry maybe it isn't possible at all to download MP3 from an LMS (or even public URL) to your phone, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Thank you in advance.

Hmmm, wondering if you choose the right forum. Do you use Captivate, because this is a Captivate forum,

  • ITUNES WON'T START BECAUSE OF APPLE MOBILE DEVICE NOT STARTING?

What does this mean? I just updated to the latest version and downloaded about 40 songs off of itunes and when I went to go plug my iphone in , it says '' This iphone cannont be used Apple Mobile Device is not started''? What on earth does this mean? Please help!!!

    Iceman50,
Apple Mobile Device is a background service that helps iTunes communicate with the iPhone or iPod Touch.
This article discusses how to restart it:

  • Managing Mobile Devices

We are currently in Office365 and use Intune for desktop management. Many of our users use their mobile devices to access their e-mail.
We'd like to look at using Intune's Mobile Device Management capabilities but I have a question. If we were to choose (on the Admin - Mobile Device Management page) to make Intune our manger, by turning that option on am I going to affect any of our current
users that are using "un-managed" devices to access Office365 e-mail? We'd like to setup a pilot group before rolling it out agency wide.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
No, you deploy that policy when you want to and to a group if you like so you can limit and test conditional access for office365. so no problem in turning on MDM.
