Corrupt Data over Internet?

Hello,
I have recently been programming a russian card game (Durak) as an Online-Multiplayer Game. Everything is working fine, except sometimes, it seems as though the information sent in some Data-Packtes is corrupt. I tried to replicate the errors in my local Network and even over the internet, but to no avail.
So here's my question: Is this even possible? Does Data sometimes get changed as it is sent over the internet?
If the answer is yes, then I would need some way to check if the data sent was correct. Would it suffice to send the Data Packet back and let the sender decide wether or not the Packet was correctly sent?

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

You cannot access a SQL Server Database from Windows Store App directly. You have to create a service layer (e.g a WCF service) that communicates with the database and then access this service from your app. There is a an example available here:

Copy oracle server data to remote system over internet

Hi,
I am using Redhat 4 linux system as Oracle 10g server. My database is in archivelog mode. I am not good at data guard so i am not using it.
But i want to copy my archive log file to another linux system over internet. so that in case of server crash i can recover my database using backup and archive log files.
It will be best if i can do it at each archive log creation like data guard and ok if it do at a time interval
Please suggest me any tool which can copy data over internet on linux system and it should be free or easy to use.

umeshOne tool I can suggest is OS copy command.
I used to use this tool for one of our server which was on SCO Unix with Oracle 7. But there are implications with this:
1. The archives got corrupted frequently during copy, then we need to identify the archives by matching it's size on production and on standby and copy it once again.
2. Manually recover the database after every 15 minutes.
I would suggest to go for oracle managed setup i.e. Standby configuration. It's not tough.

Fast Data Transfer over Internet

i have few servers and some of them are really stuffed with huge amount of data on them.
i want to move my data to other servers.
i dont have a telnet access and more ever i dont want to remain connnected till the time the task is over.
can you recommend a faster way of Data transfer over internet.

Why don't you dump the data to a tape, send the tape to the other server, and reload it there? That can be faster than sending the data over the network if it's large.

320N Freezes when trying to transfer data over wifi

I have the 320N and I am very frusterated. I would just take it back, but I bought it brand new on Amazon.com, meaning I will have to pay shipping because I threw out the box and the return shipping form for RMA's! I don't even know if Amazon will take it back without that paperwork, but anyway here's the issue...
I don't have any N cards yet, but I upgraded to this router because my home internet service is faster than what my older WRT-54g could route. This new router does route and I can now achieve the rated speeds of my ISP (50/10 mbps).
I can transfer large files 6+ GB WIRED between any of the LAN ports on this device. However if I try to transfer much data over wifi, the router will simply stop working. The lights on the front work fine, they blink like there is activity, and the power LED is solid, but it won't pass traffic and the wifi SSID dissapears. I run a constant ping to the router (ping -t 192.168.1.1) and I get <1ms replies. On my laptop I initiate a download of a 1GB file which is shared in my windows 7 homegroup. Within a minute or two the constant ping to the router starts timing out. Internet access to anything (wired or wireless) instantly ceases. New introduced devices will not grab a DHCP address. Existing PC's whom already have their DHCP address can talk to each other only if wired. The wireless transmitter stops broadcasting the network and devices no longer see it on the airwaves. The only way to fix it is to power cycle it.
It doesn't even have to be a large file over wifi to transfer. Just now as I'm typing this post I noticed the constant ping on my other monitor started timing out. I power cycled the router in time for me to submit this post. In fact I had to do it three times in the time it took me to write this post. This is the most frustrating experience I've had with any wifi ap/router, and I play with Cisco gear at work that run real IOS.
Here's what I tried so far.
Reset factory defaults by holding in the rear reset button for over 30 seconds.
I can confirm this resets the defaults as the password and all other settings are back to default.
I tried WPA2 Personal. I tried WPA. Router still freezes.
I tried it with just the default settings. Router still freezes.
I've reset the router numerous times. Still freezes.
Power cycle it for more than a minute. Still freezes.
Reflash it with Linksys's latest firmware. Still freezes.
What do I do next? I have a feeling it's the same problem as in a lot of the HP Printer firmware boards. That problem is poor solder joints on the BGA processor connection. To fix that you put the formatter board in an oven at 400 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes. After that time you just let it cool to room temperature. The oven heats the poor solder joints enough so that it reseats and gets a better connection. There are hundreds of posts of success on this. I also hear that the solder connection problem exists for many of the older revision Xbox 360 game consoles causing the infamous "Red Ring of Death".
So do I try to fight with Amazon to take this back and eat the shipping?
Do I void my warranty, open the device up and put the board in the oven?
Do I buy another router from a closer store, but then put this one in the box and take it back?
Do I just cut my losses?
Do I just use this as a wired router (disable Wifi) and hook up my WRT-54g and make that act as just an access point?

Ok I've had my replacement 320N for almost 1 full week now, and while at first it was fine, come Sunday it appears to freeze during heavy transfers. I was streaming an HD movie to the laptop connected to the TV. 3/4ths of the way through the movie it started skipping. What do you know, the whole network was down. No internet or anything. Power cycle the router and everything was back up. Needless to say, I finished the movie through the wired connection. The next day I tried copying 8GB of data wirelessly. The SSID vanished 1/3rd of the way in during the transfer.
What is wrong with this stuff? Linksys doesn't make things like they used to. This 320N is so cheaply made I don't think I could recommend it to anyone. I might see if I can send this back to Amazon and get a Netgear.

I want to take my apple tv from my home in Canada and us it at the Cabin in the States, but can't seem to get it to set up in the states? It just keeps asking for time and date over and over.

We just bought apple tv for our home in Canada, we also want to use it at our Cabin in Montana. We have internet and can get netflix etc on the Macbook, but don't seem to be able to hook up the Apple TV, it just keeps asking for the Time and Date over and over. Anyone know what we are doing wrong?

You will need to use your data or internet when you are out and about. You will have access to all your nusic in the cloud but you will need to pre-download music whilst you have an internet connection.

Opening BAM Server Port and Integrating BPEL Server over Internet

Hi Friends,
I have a BPEL Process which has Sensor Actions to insert data to a BAM Data Object. BPEL & BAM Servers are on different boxes and have to be accessed over the internet. I want to know whether anyone can give me any pointers to manually open BAM Server's Port from a Windows XP machine to be accessed by a BPEL Server Process over Internet. Pl. provide detailed steps in case possible.

When you create the BPEL process (or after you deploy it) you can modify the bam server settings. In your case, I think all you need to do is supply the correct port -- 445 instead of 80
If you are doing this post-deployment you can go to the BPEL console, select the BPEL service and modify the connection settings by modifying the process' descriptor. You should modify the bamserver.port property. If you are not using 10.1.3.3, then there is a bug with the descriptor page that requires that you make sure you re-type in the bamserver.password field PRIOR to clicking update desciptor.
If you are doing it pre-deployment, you can modify the bpel.xml file in JDeveloper of your BPEL process. You will see the bamserver.port property defined in that file.

You would want to do collaborative planning in situations where the partner needs to be given limited access to planning data or even inside an organization where not everyone has access to SAP system through SAP GUI. Internet becomes the GUI to manage data.

I want to know how could i get data over network. I mean i have a video server and i want to get the data flow (so i don't need a MediaLocator which runs with URL file.. not an http address or else..) and store it in a buffer (bytebuffer?) or in a datasource...

Even i'd gone thru tough time to complete the eRec config successfully...!
You only need the reference user as logon data, as this is for the external service and there won't be any login expected by the External Candidate to the SAP system. When you assign the reference/service users to ICF services.. it means you are saying to SAP system that .. when ever this service is called use the authentication provided in the logon data and the rest is taken care by SAP!
This is one URL from eREC which will be exposed to internet (via a reverse proxy) and shouldn't be asking for SAP authentication.
You can use all the standard roles for eRec config, until unless you really have a custom scenario.

Corrupt data on web pages

I have been using Firefox for several years....didn't even know it had upgraded to 7....until last week when I tried to log onto my home page of Hughes Net....it gave me a message that there was corrupt data....try again. Yes you could get onto the page with the second attempt....but logging into my email was the same....and there were odd little dots in front of all my messages. Every web page I went to said the same thing...althought Firefox made it look like the web pages were the problem. It was also very slow and my computer has been since. I uninstalled. Waited a few days, went to the website and downloaded again today....same problem. I have uninstalled again and won't be installing again, til I have a solution...much as I dislike IE. Thanks for any help anyone can send my way !

Thanks, I really did not have the option in Privacy for Show Cookies, but I could click on a button that would allow me to remove cookies and I did remove any that I did not know the web site. I cleared the cashe before that. Stilll the problem...rebooted tried again. Thanks for you help, but it didn't solve the problem and since I have to keep clicking Try Again on the Corrupt Data...it takes up to 4 attempts to get into any way page...I guess I will just uninstall it. I will get over it. I am a nurse....am used to accepting change :) I will just learn to like a new browser. Funny, I never had a bit of problem before the upgrade...
