Cost Centre assignmement in Material Price variance Posting

Hi Friends,
I see that when the user does a material price chnage posting thru MR21, it correctly hits the GL account as per the account determantion Procedure UMB (Gain or loss from revaluation).
I am qquite clueless from where does it pick up the cost centre to be assigned. This account (Cost element) has not been defaulted to any cost centre.
Please suggest me where I am lacking.

  • Asset PO Price Variance posting w/out asset account assignmt to wrong acct

    We're bringing up fixed assets and are struggling with the account assignment behind PO Invoice receipt (MIRO) and price differences.  At the moment, the PO is A account assigned and has the standard SAP settings except that the GR is valuated and the account assignment indicator is single instead of multiple.  When we process MIRO, if there's a price difference, it hits the table 30 account assignment for the DIF trxn key. 
    We have 2 issues.
    1.  The account behind DIF is used for normal merchandise purchasing which isn't account assigned and doesn't reflect the GL account for the asset class.
    2.  The asset number is not being passed to the price variance posting (this could be a result of the GL account config since our normal merchandise purchasing doesn't carry a WBS).
    We have an additional wrinkle in that we do a shadow posting to a WBS element as well as the asset number in MIRO.  It seems to work fine so long as we don't have a price variance.
    From reading documentation, it appears the price variance should be posting to the asset so we appear to have mis-configured something.  I'm hoping it's not the valuated GR as we have a business requirement to show the value of the item when we receive it.  In any case, we can't figure out what we're missing.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Error 06206: Effective price lower than material price (variance 30.00 %)

    Hello Experts,
    I've maintained the tolerance limit as 30% for my company code and tolerance key 'PE'.
    Even though I try to create a Purchase Order with the same effective price as the material price (no variance), still it gives me the following error:
    "Effective price lower than material price (variance > 30.00 %) Message no. 06206"
    However, I get this error only for Import vendors and not for Domestic vendors.
    I'm using same currency (INR) in Purchase Order for Import vendor as for Domestic vendor.
    I've debugged the code to find where exactly and why it throws that error but have been unsuccessful. When I reach METHOD pbo_finished, deep structure my_pushed_message already has the error message ID 06 and number 206 stored in it.

    since you are getting effective price lower than material price, your PO appears to be at a lower value. This may be since the total is not carried to the appropriate field. pl check whether Subtotal column is having S entry
    if its an error, in attributes of system messages change to warning

    The transaction Used is MR21.
    When the document was posted then the system has generated 2 Accounting documents one in Fiscal Yr 2007 and the other in 2008.
    In 2007 document posting date 31.03.2008 the a/c entry was RM Inventory A/c Debit to Consumption A/c Credit. This entry is ok . But the system has simultainously generated another document with posting date 01.04.08 and here the document has the reverse entry ..... RM Inventory A/c Credit to Consumption A/c Debit.
    Both the document was generated against a single Price Change Document. Both of then (A/c Docs) have the same number.
    I am unable to find any justification or any solution to this issue .....
    This issue has a high priority as ma client has to prepair their quaterly Balance Sheet.
    So Please help me out ..... save me.......

    Go to SPRO > MM > Valuation and Account Assignment > Configure Price Change in Previous Period/Previous Year > here check whether "Price carr.over" field is active for your Company Code.
    It has following implications;
    Price change: carried over from previous to current period: - Indicates whether price changes in the previous period or previous year are to affect the prices in the current period.
    Use: - When you select this field, the price change is also valid for the current period.
    If you do not select this field, the price changes in the previous period or previous year have no effect on the prices in the current period.
    Note: - Please note that if you select this field, thus changing the price for the current period, it is not possible to reverse this change later.

  • Purchase Price Variance Foreign Exchange difference

    How Purchase Price Variance Foreign Exchange difference is calculated for material consumed in product costing / material ledger

    You need to go to net price at purchase order in local currency. With quantity you'll get the purchase order total price in local currency.
    Get the standard price of material master record (which is in purchase order) on MM03 transaction on costing 2 view.
    Purchase price variance is the difference between purchase price order and material standard price.
    To get this difference in foreing currency, you´ll need to get document date of purchase order, get exchange rate at OB08 and find both prices in foreign currency; after that get same way the variance.

                   after i finished the Production Order i made GR for the Finished Material ,during this One Material Price is posted to the G/L  account, I want to know how the Prices came. I saw this in Production order Cost Aanlysis screen.
    Please note we are using Moving Avg Price.
    Please help me to know the Concept.

    When a GR is made, system looks for the Valuation Class/Materail Type of the material and the Movement type used to determine automatically which account needs to be hit.
    The price is determined by the valuation variant assigned to the valuation area(Plant). Here we define from where the sytem should take the price.

  • Third party gratis order and cost centre allocation

    Hi all
    I have a problem with third party sales. When the sales order is gratis, the cost centre allocation is determined by our gratis order reason. This particular cost centre is locked for invoice receipt posting (as it is gratis), and so we cannot complete the 3rd party process.
    Is there any way around this - I can see in the IMG that you can create requirement classes for costing but I cannot see where you assign these requirements to items.
    Also, I am not sure about the implications of removing the lock on invoice receipt postings.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Statistical Cost Centre problem

    Hello All,
    I have created project in PS (WBS structure). In WBS Basic data tab, I am assigning a Cost Centre.( This Cost Centre will be statistical, as the posting will be done against WBS.
    However when i am doing posting againts WBS thru FB50, the actual cost gets posted against WBS. But it is not appearing as Statistical cost against the cost centre in report S_ALR_87013611. However when I maintain a Cost Centre during posting in FB50 along with WBS, the cost appears as statistical cost. Is it a standard behaviour ? or is it possible by some settings to see the statistical postings against CC, even if i am not mentioning it in FB50 and just maintaning it in basic data of WBS?

    Hello,
    The way it works is opposite of how you want to use. In the WBS element control tab, you can mark a WBS element as statistical, which means that the WBS element is statistical and choose to post the actual costs to a cost center, which you can enter in the master data. When you post FB50 the WBS will be statistical and cost center will be real.
    If you do not mark WBS as statistical then the cost center field in the control tab has no meaning. For a non-statistical WBS when you use in FB50 the actual costs go to WBS and the statistical costs go to cost center, if you enter it.

  • Blocked Cost centre

    Dear All
    Please help me out from this issue.
    My issue is due to some reason we are blocked some cost centres for Posting, we created new Cost centres in place of old one. only thing is which are the blocked cost centres were used in some Orders due to that we unable to change the cost centre old to new. we are posting through old cost centre after unlocking the lock. now problem is Co reports are not matching with FI reports.

    Hi,
    Is there a cost centre defined internal order master?  You can attempt to change that in KO02 and it should re-direct from the old to the new cost centre.

  • GL Account is blocked for Cost Centre

    Hi All,
    I try to post amount to G/L account, But SAP throwing this error. GL Account 672800 is blocked for Cost Centre 3330.
    I tried to post to another account 678200 which has the same functionality as 672800 but i done get any error . 
    Any Advice pls.

  • Valucation Type PROD_PRICE (material price) and NET_COST(Material net cost)

    Hello gurus,
    When transfer BOM to GTS, we got two values in product master under price tab:
    Valuation type PROD_PRICE: 1000USD (valude is same to standard price in ECC material master)
    Valuation type NET_COST: 900USD (where it is from?)
    Can you please tell the difference between above two?  In most cases, those two types have same values in product, but sometimes they are different.

    Please check the Valuant variant assigned against the step " Define Goods Received Valuation for Order Delivery" in IMG under Product cost by Order.
    This will have impact on the valuation.

    Check the Price strategy for Materials. SAP help says as below :

    Define Goods Received Valuation for Order Delivery
    This step is only relevant if your have specified price control V in the material master records of semifinished products or finished products.
    In this step you specify how the receipts for materials with price control V are valuated.
    When the master record of a material specifies price control V, the value for the credit is determined using a valuation variant. You must define this valuation variant separately for each valuation area. The valuation variant determines which material price is used for the credit posting.
    For materials with price control S, on the other hand, the credit posting is always made at standard price.
    If you deliver to stock at a price that is not the standard price, the system will report an output price variance in variance calculation.
    Requirements
    You must already have processed the step Define valuation variant.
    Actions
    If you have materials with price control V, you must specify for the valuation area which valulation variant should be used at the time of the goods receipt. Specify the goods receipt valuation for your material with price control V in this step.

  • Good Receipt is posted to price variance account instead of Inventory account

    Dear All,
    My client have a PO with three materials. All those materials have been assigned to same valuation class. Client has posted GR for this PO and one material has been recorded a misbehavior when selecting the accounts. That mean, it has been ignored the inventory account and instead value has been posted to price variance account. So the debit entry in price variance and credit entry in GR/IR.
    But other two material has the automatic posting to correct account as Debit to Inventory and Credit to GR/IR.
    Could you pls help me to find the reason for this.
