Cost collectors in cost hierarchy

Hi all,
Does everyone know how to be sure all cost collectors are assigned to a cost object hierarchy?
Is there any transaction that display cost collectors that are not assigned to any cost objet?
Thanks in advance,
Ronan

Hello Ronan,
I have created a query to solve this issue.  Table AFPO can give you your cost collectors and by linking this table to table CKPE as a "left outer join" you will have a query that shows your cost collectors and which ones are or are not attached to the COH.
Hope this helps,
Nick

  • Cost Center Assessment to Cost Hierarchy based on Actual Consumption error

    Assessment is set up:
SENDER:   Cost Center: Overhead Expenses (values in expense accounts)
RECEIVER:  Top Node of Cost Object Hierarchy  (material consumption has been posted to two objects - related account has value and quantity fields)
    Segment is set up:
    Sender Rules: Posted Amounts
    Share:100%
    Actual value origin
    Receiving tracing factor:
    Receiver rule: Variable Portions
    Var. portion type: Actual Consumption
    No Scaling
Assumption is that "Var. portion type: Actual Consumptions" means the quantity in the consumption account on the receiver from the inventory posting.     Is this true?

Hi dear Ajay, thank you for your answer.
first, I understand the difference between KSUB and KSU5, in the defined scenario, we have both. planned values, become actual with the MEC activities. business definition.
regarding the cycle, I have setup assessment cost element so we can get all planned lines posted as 1.
On sender tab I have only the cost center. no cost element defined.
    receiver its cost center.
furthermore, i've not setup allocation structure, so all cost elements should be allow, there is no restriction on this.
the only difference is: planned costs which their origin is already an assessment are not being assessed again.
I can show you the print screens with cycles setup if it helps

  • Data collection for cost object hierarchy - no data at order level!

    Hi everyone,
When using transaction KKP6 to see my hierarchy for cost object, the system displays all the values that are allocated on my hierarchy nodes, but I do not have the values that should come from the production orders (repetitive manufacturing with production version).
I use transaction KKRZ to collect data for cost object hierarchy, but it seems that the system does not retrieve any information from the orders.
Would someone know about this point customizing steps to follow to retrieve my orders values?
Thanks in advance for your answer. Rewards guaranteed!
    Ronan

    Hi Amadeus,
To do so, I have used transaction OKZ5 in the customizing and ticked "always cost object hierarchy" and "distribution".
By doing so, you enable the system to distribute costs within a cost hierarchy. Otherwise the system will only determine costs on the hierarchy.
Try this, it may work for you as well. During your period-end closing, you sould now use "cost object hierarchy" instead of product cost collector.

  • Cost Center Hierarchy

How do you use and setup cost hierarchy under cost accounting?
    Regards,
    Wayne

    Hi,
The Cost Center Hierarchy works somewhat in a similar fashion as your Financial Report Templates.
When the Cost Center Hierarchy is defined, you can have the display of the Profit Centre and cost centres displayed according to the reporting or display requirement under various reports. (Example In the Cost Centre Report, you can check the Template radio button)
However, for it to work you need to first define the Cost Centres and then you can define a Template based on your requirement using the Cost Centre Hierarchy window. When you defined a few levels in the new Cost Centre Hierarchy template, and double click on the item you will get the window to add the cost centre at the required Item which you defined.
Check the same in the DEMO and see if you get it to work for you.
    Hope it helps.

  • Cost/ Profit Hierarchy

    Hi,
Could anyone help me with the following question:
If I enter a cost hierarchy into kch1 then surely SAP will somehow save that e.g. cost center x and y belong to the group z.
Question is where can I find this rare data list with the relationship of the groups and the cost centers.
    Many thanx for your help!
    Ilka

    Hi Vishal,
B1's profit center report is in LC only.  It does not support in Foreign Currency.

  • Expand Hierarchy Items

    Greetings...fellow matez,
I have a Structure which consists' of several <b>selections</b>. This Selections then restrict a Characteristic "0Account". Now, the restriction of Characteristic "0Account" is made up of <b>groupings</b> of several hierarchy nodes.
Now, I would like to have my <b>Reports to list the items</b> in the restricted "hierarchy selection" instead of just the Total Values.
Allow me to explain by an example.
I have made a <b>Selection</b> "Market Development and Promotion". This consists of two nodes which I select from my Hierarchy restriction of 0ACCOUNT
Now, when I run my BEx report, I only see a one liner which sums two nodes restricted earlier to represent my "Market Development and Promotion" cost....which is perfectly Okay!
But, what I now need is the ability to drilldown to the two individual nodes from my BEx report.
      Please advice!
      P/S: Remember that this is <b>Hierarchy Selection</b>

    Eugene mate,
"  <i>Note, that you didn’t specify any hierarchies, you just use some accounts which are also included into hierarchies.</i> "
<b>  In my query, I am using hierarchies to restrict my selections!</b>
Let me explain my scenario, once again.
I have made a STRUCTURE called 'Group Financial Performance(Operating Cost).
This STRUCTURE contains 9 SELECTIONS and 2 FORMULA'S.
Lets take one of the SELECTION called "MANPOWER COSTS"
Once again, in my 'EDIT SELECTION' box here, I used the Hierarchy 'Profit & Loss' on <b>InfoObject 0ACCOUNT</b>. I restricted my <b>InfoObject 0ACCOUNT</b>with one item from my Hierarchy on the Left to the 'Selection' on the right. Here I dragged the item hierarchy (CABMSTAFFCOST)
So now, if I execute my query I get the results displayed as following :-
    MANPOWER COST(in my Row)
Current Month - xxx (in my Columns)
    Previous Month - xxx
    Current YTD    - xxx
    Budget YTD     - xxx
Now, in my SAP R/3 under Display Cost Element Group, I get to see the accounts that make up this MANPOWER COST of my Hierarchy 'Profit & Loss'
Such as MANPOWER COST contains the following accounts :-
    PAYROLL ALOWANCES
    BONUS & EX-GRATIA
    MEDICAL
    INSURANCE
    RETIREMENT BENEFIT
    STAFF BENEFIT
I NEED TO DISPLAY THESE BREAKDOWN OF MANPOWER COST HIERARCHY in my SAP BW BEX Report.

  • Error in Distribution of Actual cost in Cost Object Hierarchy

    Hi,
I am getting an error while doing the Distribution of Actual cost from Cost Object Node to the assigned Order.
Cost element/origin 630000 could not be distributed
    Message no. KZ468
    Diagnosis
The cost element/ origin 630000 could not be distributed because there are no target costs for this cost element/origin or for cost element group CO-PC-TOT.
    Procedure
Check the calculated target costs and cost element group CO-PC-TOT assigned to the target cost version.
    Procedure for System Administration
    Proceed
Although the Cost element is Present in cost element group CO-PC-TOT.
One more information, the order  that is assigned in Cost Object Hierarchy is of CO-Product orders.
I have searched in the forum but I havent got any solution.
    Kindly help.
    regards
    Kami

    Hi,
Concerning error message KZ 468, it has the following origin: In the  customizing of the cost object category (transaction okz5), check if the 'single object selection' is set to 'Control through variance key'. If you consider the F1-Help for this option you will find the following  explanation:
if the indicator Control through variance key is turned on, the production order, process order, or product cost collector can only be assigned to the cost object hierarchy if:
-> The material is assigned to the lowest node of the hierarchy
-> No variance key is specified in the order
The important point is, that orders that have a variance key are excluded from the cost distribution.
In transaction KKF8 you will find that all these orders do indeed have  a variance key. Hence, all of these orders are included, there are no target costs from the orders and the costs cannot be distributed. Thus the error message kz 468.
Please consider that and check the customizing again.
Not having target costs in the distribution indicates either a wrong set up of the hierarchy or, more likely, no valid cost estimate for a certain material of a production order or product cost collector could be found.
Did you check whether for this cost element/origin target costs exist, and also for the cost element group? If not the message KZ468 is correct and probably the cost element group has to be maintained properly.
The distribution of actual costs calculates target costs on-the-fly and the variance calculation does not have to be carried out before. Quite the opposite than the variance calculation requires the distribution as a preceding step. Furthermore it is not sufficient that one cost element is in a cost element group but the interval where the cost element has been assigned to has to have some target costs. Otherwise this won't work and message KZ468 is issued.

    Waman

  • Old material overwritten by new material code in Product cost collector

    Hi SAP Gurus,
How can I work around if a product cost collector with material XXX has been overwritten by a new material YYY when creating the KKF6N.
Both material code having the same plant, same orde type, same production version but just different material code.
When saving the preliminary costing for the product cost collector for material YYY, the system prompted me the order number 700022 which is already existing and created for material XXX.
By right, this shd not be happened but indeed it did.
Now when displaying the report S_ALR_87013127 - Order Selection, the report showed the new material YYY was created with order number 700022 but the content of the data was for old material XXX.
Now my problem is how can I get back the product cost collector for material XXX as the original order number 700022 was meant for material XXX and not mat YYY.
And also when executing backflush (MFBF) for old material XXX, the error msg prompted as 'content of order 700022: Mat YYY transferred to interface (IMSEG):Mat XXX due to this I can't backflush material XXX.
Really appreciate your expertise on this urgently.
    many thanks!

  • RESCCC - Generate cost collector as background job.

    Hello,
I am trying to generate the cost collector. normally this is a two screen procedure. In the first screen I input the parameters and then execute it.
In the next screen the list of cost collectors appear with the red & white circle icon at the top. When I select the cost collectors and click on the icon, it generates the cost collectors and they are now ready for the next period.
We have a timeout setting of 900 seconds set in our system. As a result any foreground job that runs for more than that leads to a short dump. We cannot change this parameter.
Thats why I was trying to run the report as a background job. When I am running the background job, after a while when I am checking the status of the job I can find that the job has successfully finished.
The problem is that in this case I dont get the second screen from where I could select the cost collectors and then 'generate' them using the red & white circular icon. That screen just doesn,t come at all.
Can someone please tell me that if i run this as a background job then how may I get to the screen (the second screen) from where i can select the cost collectors and generate them?
    Regards,
    Suvarghya Dutta

    Hello,
when RESCCC is run as background job the cost collectors for all specified settlement units should be generated without the need to select them in a second screen.
Please check that you have made the selections for settlement units and also the settlement period start and end date properly for your background job. If it still doesn't work please check the protocol of the background job for messages.

    Hi experts,
my requirement is that i want to maintain one product cost collector for multiple materials ans also i want to know the configuration setting for the same.
I have used KKF6N but it is not working in my case. I went through KKF6M also but there i found multiple cost collectors.
please guide me in the same.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shripad,
you cannot assign same  Product cost collector to different material.
Because you creating cost collector for material combination of material /production version, material /Bom Routing.
so please create individual cost collector for every material.

  • Adding cost element to a particular hierarchy in RSH1 leads to shortdump.

    Hi,
I'm facing some issue in production for TCode-RSH1.
Adding cost element to a particular hierarchy in RSH1 leads to shortdump. (Assign_Type_Illegal_Cast). This problem is causing for some hierarchies only.
Steps followed by us for adding cost element:-
    1) RSH1-select hierarchy name.
    2) In change mode, select a paticular node, click on cost element.
    3) Select any of the cost element & click the green button (tick)
When we are following the above steps, it is leading to short dump and giving the following error message:-
    Assign_Type_Illegal_Cast.
This issue is causing for some hierarchies & not for all.
    Request to suggest the solution..
    Regards,
    SDN User.

    Hi Venkat,
That particular hierarchy is not having multiple nodes. Only one node named Rate & efficiency. and the user needs to add cost element to that node. Now how come your ans match here in this case.
Now is that you are telling that one cost element which is selected is there for that node in some other hierarchy? But it is a different hierarchy , so if it is then it would be a problem?
Or else I have one more doubt....
Is that the user might be having some authorization problem for that particular hierarchy or the info object or cube where the hierarchy is? Because he is saying that he is having this problem for some few only not all hierarchies. So its understandable that RSH1 authorization to edit and create he has.

  • Error while creating Product Cost Collector

    Hi SAP Gurus,
While creating Product Cost Collector I am getting the following Error:
Enter a distribution rule for Order without a validity limit
    Message no. KD059
    Diagnosis
The settlement profile used requires you to define a distribution rule for Order. For period 009 2008, however, you have not created a distribution rule for Order.
    Procedure
Create a distribution rule for Order without a validity limit, because, if the distribution rule does have a validity limit, the system always issues this message in the period following the last valid period.
You can also use a different settlement profile that does not require such a distribution rule, or change the settlement rule used.
Can any one help where exactly i need to maintain this.
The settlement profile settings are fine.
I am getting this error only after i have changed the scenario to Reproting point back flushing

    Dear Suryanarayana
Please check the corresponding settlement profile for product orders.
In most of the cases message KD059 means that no distribution rule is assigned to your production order.
This is not an error, but the system design. In order to avoid message KD059 you will either have to enter settlements parameters and a distribution, or change settlement profile for valid receivers in transaction OKO7 from 'settlement required' to 'Can be settled'.
I hope this helps resolve the issue for you. I wish you the best in your endeavours.
    Kind Regards,
    Brendan
