Cost Estimate with Purchase info record

Hello Everyone,
I have a problem with Cost Estimation ( with Purchase info record), We hare using PIR ( Purchase Info records) for calculating cost estimation. These records are maintained on the base of Vendor and Material. There are some materials extended to more than one plant.Ex: Material: Mat1 are created under Plant PL1 and PL2.
Problems is when we are executing cost run with parameters Mat1 and PL1, system some times taking PL2 ( the last transaction created with that material - irrespective of the plant )transactions also, please help me how to solve this problem, my user wants, system should take the transactions only selected plants.

Maybe a valuation strategy with "user exit" can find the info-record price you are expecting.

    Hi Phemmy,
    it is possible to create  PO before info record .info record establishes the relationship between vendor and your particular material.
    to answer your 2nd question:
    it is possible to create inforecord automatically during PO creation. in the ME2N screen, in the material tab, put the material code. then go to item details.in the materail data tab, you will get infoupdate  check it.and then inforecord will be created automatically.

      Am a basis person with no experience on MM... so ill like to ask you MM geeks this....It will be best if i narrate my ordeal....I am try to investigate some things....I have a PO which was created on 8.12.2009 and a purchase info record related to this PO created on the 30.09.2009...and created by(Info Rec) a person who has the authorization to created POs but not info records.
    Now my questions Are this.
    1. Is it possible to have an info record created before its PO.
    2. Are info records created automatically? if yes, when do this occur...

    PO is a purchasing document. Info record is a master data that has a material-vendor relation set.  SAP recommends to create Info record before PO as it is a master data and the conditions ( net price & effective price) are adopted from it.
    1. Po can be created before Info Recod. It is not mandatory the otherway round but recommended.
    2. Info record is created automatically when a Po is created if the Infoupdate indicator is set in Po (Item details --> Material Data Tab).
    3. Uncheck the Infoupdate indicator if the info record need not be created.

  • Wrong cost estimate due to info record SA reference field.

    I have an issue during cost estimate.
    When we create scheduling agreement for a Material/Vendor/Plant combination.
    The info record in Purchase organisation - reference field updates with latest SA number.
    Here. I had created the second Scheduling agreement and later i decide to delete the latest SA and use the previous one. But inforecord does not update with previous SA number.
    As per configuration, the reference field is taken for cost estimate and it takes the latest SA number, which is wrong.
    Can anyone guide me how to get the live SA number in the reference field in Info record?

    The idea of SAP in case of retreiving information in case of PO/SA, is the last document number that is stored in the info record. Since you have just created the SA agreement, whose information is not stored in info record, you can simply update info record (select info update indcator) which is available in ME31L somewhere in Menu bar options (Sorry I dont know precisely). This could solve your problem I hope.

  • Purchasing info Record - Auto update Setting

    Dear Experts,
    I have some query with purchasing info record: please go through the following scenario:
    I have created some po in post with tax code "V1 - 4% Vat"  and with reference to those info records are already created (as there was info update indicator was ticked in PO)
    now,  as tax rates are changed, i am creating PO with new tax code "V2 - 5% Vat" but even there is info update indicator is ticked in PO its not getting updated in the same info record
    kindly adivice what settings are required to be done in system.

    Please note that if you create a PO for a material/ Vendor combination without a info record then system will automatically create an info record @ the time of PO creation If info update is on & will save the tax code in the info record which you enter in the PO.
    But once an info record is generated then system wont overwrite the tax code in the info record even though the info - update is on.  This is Std - System Behaviour.
    If you dont want the particular tax code then go to ME12 & edit the tax code & check.

    Is there any enhancement available to to update the purchase info record with thecondition type
    fild during release of materials using CK40N /CK24.
    ie Whenever a cost is released ,  the object should populate the overhead condition type (ZUB1) on the INFO record
    Another requirement is
    Whenever there is adding/updating additive costs (ck74n and ck75n), the object should populate the corresponding condition types on the INFO records (ZFR2 for freight cost; ZOC2 for duty cost).

    But my next question is how can I know how much cost centers will be for some document? If I need to define number of cost centers in advance, then this solution is not very flexible. The best solution would be if I could add values to classification flexibly (for example: one time 3 values and the other time 1 value).
    :-Check box additional values in values tab of char. that will allow to enter flexible number of values any time
    The other question is about values of parameters. For each cost center I need to enter two values (cost center number, and costs for that cost center). So, for each cost center I need to add 2 values. Is that possible using classification?
    :-Create classification with chara. cost center, cost center value and check box additional values as above that will allow you to add values for cost center and cost center value.

    I have notice that when i archive an Info Record, Only CDPOS is deleted and not CDHDR.
    In the customizing, Object Class CHANGEDOCU is set.
    Can someone explain why datas in CDHDR are not deleted ?

    Yes, I agree with Jurgen.  You should open a message with SAP.  As, the CDHDR records should be archived along with the CDPOS records.  That is how it works when I archive purchase info records with MM_EINA.

    I want to create purchase info records with the same material vendor purchasing org. plant ,how can it be done.
    This is required because it is possible for the same vendor to deliver material for the same plant and purchasing organisation.Is there a workaround or any reason for this.

    In SAP , this is not possible to have 2 different inforecords for the combinaiton of MaterialVendorPur orgPlantinfo record type

    ME1P will be used to monitor the changes in terms of pricing conditions you made to your info record via Transaction MEKP.
    In case of SA, you will have to build up your simple query by joining two tables A016 and KONP.

    Please check in material master data whether this material is in-house produced or externally procured, which can be found in MRP view.
    Please also check your costing variant and valuation variant for material cost estination, I think possibly you chose stratey L FROM Purchasing Info Record. If not, ignor it.
    If it's externally procured, SAP logic is that firstly it will check the source list, then determine the quota arrangement and find proper vendor for the selected material. The error message is possibly caused by missing vendor or wrong quota reason. So please follow the SAP logic to check data one by one.

  • Conditions in scale pricing in purchase info record

    Dear Experts,
    Need your valuable inputs on the following issue:
    We have entered into an agreement with a vendor with the following clause:
    1 PAC of material ABC costs Rs. 13000/-
    In every month , the first PAC bought will be priced at Rs 13000/- and any quantity further bought in the same month will be priced at Rs. 6000/- per PAC.
    For example:
    07th July: PO placed for the material at 13000/-
    15th July: Po placed for the material should automatically be at 6000/-
    01st August: PO placed for the material at 13000/- and so on.
    We looked up for Scales in Purchase Info Record and found to be valid only on quantity basis within the validity period of the info record.
    Our concern is how to map the scaling condition for every month, whereby, the pricing of the purchase order in PO is system-dependent.

    I do not think its possible with scale maintain. Scale is used for picking price as per quantity.
    Here, your requirement is against validity. Your price will be fluctuated against validity period.
    You can maintain the price for the validity period as per your requirement in info record.
    But unfortunately you have to maintain the price for every validity period for every months.
    Otherwise you have the option of development, where you can write your own logic for the price picking in PO.

    Go and maintain Pur. Org 1000 against ur plant in :
    SPRO-Enterprise Structure-Assignments--MM-Assign Std Pur. Org for plant
    and please confirm that you have maintained the inforecord in Pur Org 1000 only and that too of Consignment type.

  • PO type UB is pulling in a Purchase Info Record - should this happen?

    Hi All,
    I've been looking around the net few a few days, off and on, but I can't find an answer.
    A colleague has created a Purchase Order type UB but it is bringing in a Purchase Info Records that relates to a different receiving plant. This is bringing an incorrect tax code into play.
    The work around is currently as follows
    Go into the (incorrect) PIR that is being engaged
    Remove the tax code
    Process the PO
    Go back into the PIR and change the tax code back to it's original setting,
    Am I correct in assuming that PIRs are not engaged in a UB transfer?
    What should be done to stop this from happening
    Apologies if this is obvious or if I have not given enough info.

    I know that I need info records for UB order  if I work with APO.
    Are you sure that the inforecord that is pulled is for a different receiving plant?
    Is the info record really created at plant level, or only at purchasing org level?
    And both plants share the same purchasing org?
