Costing  include inhose production cost and subcontractign cost

Dear Friends,
my requirement is my material is producing house and giving subcontracting so cost should include in house cost and subcontracting cost also , is it possible? please tell me how to do , what is parameter is required.
Regards,
Nagesh

Dear friends,
in material master in mrp2 we have maintained procurement "X", here if we maintain -special procument -30, it will take only sub contracting cost, it is removed, it will take inhouse cost, i removed 30, while using PP02 in routing it showing error that is maintain purchase info record but we have maintain sub contracting purchase info recored - why it is not taking in routing
we want to calculate internal and external cost in cost estimate.

  • Open production orders and its costs migration

    Hi All,
We are migrating open production orders from legacy to SAP.
We have some standard cost production orders are open in legacy and like to migrate a open production orders to SAP?
May I know how can I do from controlling point of view?
    I have one typical scenario.
I have one production order in legacy with 10 standard cost materials produce and out of 10, 5 materials are completed in legacy and we wants to migrate remaining 5 materials to SAP.
What are the steps I needs to follow to migrate open production orders.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Anusha

    Hi Anusha,
Below is the process: (presuming that you're uploading balances as of 01.04.2009)
    Upload all material masters,
    Upload material initial balances,
Create new Production Orders as of cut off date, say 01.04.2009
Issues goods to Production Orders created above.
All the goods/material issued to Production are debited to raw material consumption account.
The value of WIP can only be ascertained during month-end closing process.
If it is pressing requirement then upload the balances as of 31.03.2009 and then do a month-end/year-end closing.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth

  • Cost center for Production Order

    Hi all,
We are now not able to get a report of Material consumption cost, Cost center wise. It is Because cost center is not linked to Production order or not linked to material issued to production order. Can we get the cost of material cosumption for  production order cost center wise. Please give us a solution.
    With Regards,
    R.Mahendiran.

    Hi,
Prod order is linked with controlling, for the direct costs like material cost linked with accounting view, costing view and secondary costs are linked with costing tab in work center and inturn workcenter is assigned to cost center, and for the prod order controlling part you will be assigned to the costing variant in transaction OPL8, if you remove this you can't get any reports.
    To understand the difference
201 - Goods issue against cost center. Means you create reservation through MB21 and do posting of cost directly at cost center.
261 - Goods issue to Production order. Means you create a reservation through Production order  and do posting of cost to Production order. When cost settlement of production order is done cost from production order will get transfered to cost center mentioned in settlement rule of production order.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.

  • Settled costs don't display in hierachy and by cost element report!

    Hi Experts,
After doing project settlement, I check in hierarchy cost report (S_ALR_87013533) and by cost element report (S_ALR_87013543) and found that: Costs which had been settled did not display anymore!!
It's not my expectation because I want to see the total actual cost of project.
    Please help to advise.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Khoa Huynh

    Hi Sreenivas Kadiam,
So you mean that only when we settle project cost to CO production order, in Project cost report, balance will be zero is the standard behavior, am I right?
Because when I settled the project cost to AUC, the total actual cost of project still display in Project cost report.
    Thanks and best regards,

  • Product cost v/s Production Order cost

    Hi all Guru's,
Can any one help me in understanding difference between product cost and production order cost in SAP.
Will give full marks for helpful answer.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek
Edited by: ABHISHEK AGRAWAL on Jan 29, 2008 9:46 AM

    Dear Abhishek,
Standard Cost Estimate or Material cost Estimate is nothing
but the standard cost for the Inhouse Manufactured materials
(FERT) = Raw Materials Cost + Activity(Operation Cost)
Cost+Overhead Cost if maintained for the Company code.
This cost will gets stamped in the material master in Costing2
    view,under Current Planned Price field.
This cost will be the Planned Cost of the Production order and
after confirmation of the order the actual cost and the variances
for the production order can be viewed.
So the Production order cost is for the order quantity say for
Eg: for a quantity of 100.
The cost(variance) will be settled against that production order
    after confirmation and TECO status.
I hope this will be helping you.

  • Allocation of cost from service cost center  to production cost center

    Dear sir ,
Will I use to distribute the cost from service department to production department  and that cost centers also using for activity planing will get currect result in product costing ?

    Hello,
Can you clarify what you want to do ?
Allocation of cost from service cost centers to production cost centers can be done with the help of Assessment / Distribution cycles and you can do a activity planning using the same costs as well. The steps for activity planning would be as under:
    1. Create primary cost planning in the service and production cost centers (KP06)
    2. Create activity planning in the production cost centers (KP26) without any rate
    3. Run assessment / distribution cycles to transfer cost from the service cost centers to production cost centers (KSUB / KSVB), in case you are not transferring based on activity quantity then also do SKF planning in KP46
    4. Run plan cost splitting in case you have more then one activity type (do config for splitting structure beforehand) (KSS4)
    5.  Calculate Plan price for the production cost center activity types (KSPI)

  • Final Cost of a Product

    Hi
We have a problem getting the final cost of a product.
We are able to get the cost of the product by doing direct cost * Number of quantity.
I would like to know the way I can get all the indirect costs added to the direct cost to get the final cost of a product.
    Thanks.

All that I write is after I read terms and conditions for waranty/RMA. I know that what you say is part of the policy , and the price of the product replaced cannot be exceeded. But proposed exchange is fair? You can make your calculation and tell me how big is my error, if I do not know primary math ...I asked only fair treatment.

  • COST OF GOODS MANUFACTURED IN COPA - MARGINAL COSTING?

    Dear members,
I need to confirm the following:
COPA provides profitability based on Cost of Sales and not Cost of Goods Manufactured (COGM) for the period.
I need to confirm if this is possible in a COPA report:
    SALE as per Billing
    COGS:
Material Costs (as per costing key settings in COPA) relevant to sales
    Activity Costs:
    Labor (cost for the period)
    Overheads (cost for the period)
For activity cost if I take the data available from the value fields, it will be relevant to Cost of Sales and and not COGM.
Firstly is it possible to call up cost elements and cost centers in COPA report painter (costing based COPA)? If I can, I take this cost as posted in cost element (primary) and cost center (for my overheads and labor costs) then it provides me cost for the period. But will it show me that cost by SKU (Finished Material)?
If the above is not possible please suggest how can I get Marginal Costing in COPA?
    Regards.
    MAK

    Hello MAK,
Right, you can use both form of reporting simultaniously. No consequenses, but every time ou need to change the type in KEBC.
But while getting requirement from client you need to make sure which type suites the most. This will yield better report.
To achive Marginal costs results you can go for the Costing based report. becase you need to analyse the pattern of change of total cost over period of time.
    Ex:                           Period 01          Period 02           Period 03          P............................
      Total revenue:
       -Total Cost :
    Contrbution Margin:
    Hope this helps

  • Settle Production Variances to COPA- Cost elements and Value fields

    Dear All,
I know this question has been discussed in the past, but I have one specific doubt regarding this topic.:
When assigning cost elements to variance categories in t-code KEI1, how do we figure out what combination of cost elements (in the top half of the screen) constitute Input Price Variance, Scrap variance etc (in the bottom half of the screen)? I know the net of the postings on those cost elements tells us what variances we are looking it, but how do we get the cost elements (group) for let's say, 'Input/Output Quanity Varinace or 'Lot size Variance' ?
Or is this a futile exercise? May be I should just create three types of variances: Labor, Machine and Overhead. And I know what cost elements (net of the postings) would, in total, make up the $ variance in each of those categories. I can then use them in my report painter reports.
Please help clear the fog for me.
    Ajay?
    Thanks a lot,
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,
    Welcome to SDN!!
There are 2 ways of updating variances in COPA... I Prefer the 2nd option always...
    1. Category wise variances (Input Prc, Usage var, etc) - Here, create a Cost ele group, where in you include all the Cost elements that can be posted to the Prod orders
For the sake of simplicity, you can include Cost elements 1 to 99999999 in the Cost element group...
    2. Cost Comp Structure wise variances -
    a. Create as many assignment lines in PA Trf Structure as in your Cost Comp Str...
Eg: If your Cost Comp Str in OKTZ has Raw Mat, Labor, Overhead - Create 3 Assignments in PA Trf Structure..
    b. Assign the same cost elements in the SOURCE as in the Cost Comp Str
    c. Choose the radio button "Costs/Revenues" in your assignment line, instead of " Variance on Production orders"
    d. Assign each Assignment line to a separate Value Field

  • Adding fixed cost in production order and creating liability

    Dear All,
We are manufacturing one of our grade of material in a plant which we do not own.We pay some fixed charges to the owner of that plant @ Rs150 PMT produced in that plant. This  fixed charges is to be included in the production order and at the same time liability for that  fixed charges is also to be created so that payment can be made to that vendor.
For charging this expenses to the production order we have created one activity type and one secondary cost element. But with this the liability can not be created.
Please advice how to proceed in this circumstances.
    Regards,
    Shivaji

    hi
I am following this thread...but want to add some views on this..
As I understood from your requirement that you are sending this material to a third party for some conversion with a fixed charge...so you must have a conversion contract with that party. In my views the process should be...
    1. Conversion contract with the party (MM)
    2. Material will be received from third party with conversion cost at the time of GR (MM)
Example... Original cost + fixed conv cost = GR value
    3. Invoicing ... MIRO ..Party will be credited at fixed conversion cost
4, When the same material is issued to another prod order the GI will be at cost as per sl.2
Please revert back if you have any question

  • Additive cost not seen in production order and while settling hits PRD

I am using additive costs for my product costing via CK74n.
Cost estimate looks good since I have the valuation variants setup to include additive costs.
But when I see the production order that is being created, all others costs are being considered except additive costs. They are recognized but not as a line item instead as a variance. When I settle the order the costs actually hit price difference account and not even the GL account that I had assigned for the additive cost. SAP did not consider the cost as variance even if it was showing up as variance initially. This as I understood is partly because of the settlement rule that I have in place which tells SAP to go and settle on the material (which is standard SAP to do since I want all the costs from the production order to settle on the eventual material going into stock) so SAP went on to settling on the material. Since the material is set as standard price the variance is being booked as a price difference entry.
Ideally I would have expected the additive cost getting debited to the order and credited to the gl account that I assigned for the additive cost. The eventual cost (incl. additive cost) should hit the inventory.
    Am I missing a step?

    Hi Sapluver,
Appreciate your prompt response..Please see my response in italics
Few queries related to your post.
    1. So your standard cost got two part, one with quantity structure ( materials, labor, OSC etc) which the system cost automatically and one manual part, which is your additive cost. While costing system picks up this manual part from CK74N.
I hope this part you got correct. Yes, the cost estimate is reading from both the qty structure and the additive costs and the cost roll-up is coming up correctly
    2. Now in actual cost controlling, i think System is not sure how to valuate your additive cost actual part.I agree, the additive cost does appear in the cost analysis section of the production order but does not show up as a line item initially. Instead it comes up as a difference item right in the bottom of the screen after totals have been displayed without any line item reference. As if the system is not sure how to display the line item. Once I have done the material issuance confirmation to the order, the additive cost got picked up correctly as I have set it up in the cost component structure as material overhead but again shows up only as variance
Which method you used to debit your production order with additive cost, is it a normal journal entry or through some automatic posting through routing ( example OSC through Purchase order/Good Receipt).I probably need to understand your point more clearly? I am not manually debiting the production order at all for the additive cost. I was expecting SAP to debit the order the same way it does for overheads. Overheads too initially show up as variance but then when we run the overhead calculation KGI2 the overheads costs get debited to the production order. Was expecting similar behavior for additive costs. I am receiving the finished product from the production order into stock via MIGO goods receipt movement type 101. I was expecting the debit to happen perhaps at the time of settlement via CO88 but here the system posted it to the price difference account via account key PRD. This I understand the system did because the settlement rule is set to post all the costs on the material and the material has the valuation control as standard price; so the system is seeing the additive cost as a price difference hence posting it to the price difference account.
System is unaware of the additive cost from actual cost point of view, there is no specification to additive cost from costing variant for actual cost. So you have to debit the order with the additive cost part.So do I manually debit the order with the additive cost? What about the price difference additive cost sitting on the order? Would appreciate if you can tell me the process steps for posting this correctly

  • Report for production order with actual and target cost for each

    Hi
Is there any report that gives me the list of all production orders in a month with its respective actual and target costs?
I can use COOIS to get a list of production orders, then double click on the prod order, then click on goto and then to cost analyis.. but can i avoid going through all this and get a report with the details i need?
    thanks in advance

    Thanks a lot for that.
I'm a little confused with the columns in the report.
Which columns should I keep for my requirement? -
    Production Order
    Total Target Cost
    Total Actual Cost
    Total Actual Qty
    Total Target Qty

  • In which table production order planned cost and actual cost i can see?

    Dear PP Guru,s,
from which table i can see productuion order planned and actaul cost. i checked following tables AUFK, AFVC, AFVV, CAUFV, AFRU, AFKO, AFPO. but i did not found planned cost and actual cost field. is there any other way to get this data with respect production order?
    Regards,

    Dear,
Planned and actual costs of prod order from COEP, COSS, COSP  S027 tables
production order shows the planned cost based on the quantity structure.

  • Target cost and actual cost not picking in production order

    Hello,
The target cost and actual cost is not updating in production order when I display it in CO03 in cost analysis.
Even though we have maintained planned price in KP26.
Please suggest how it can be populated.
    Best Regards,
    Tapan

    Hi Tapan
    For Target cost
    1. Your std cost must be released before Goods Receipt
    2. There must be goods receipt posted on the prod order
    3. You must calculate variances in KKS1/2
    For Actual Cost
    1. Post Goods receipt and Goods issues
    2. See if any mat movements are pending in COGI
    3. Ensure that operation is confirmed in PP and no entry is lying in COFC
    Regards
