Could I put Flex help content in my own Flex training

Hi, everybody. I am going to be an instructor for Flex
training in December. I have to created my own training document
and presentation. but I have seen Flex Help file also provide a
perfect content for some part of my training. So Could I put some
part of those contents to my training document?
I own my Flex license already.

Need help with adding a Key flex field to a seeded OAF page

We have a seeded OAF page on which we already have Account Key Flex Field.
Properties of this flex field are:
The ApplShortName - SQLGL
Name - GL#
Type - Key
As per the client requirement, in the KFF screen, we have disabled the seeded structure for Accounting Flexfield and created a custom structure.
Our custom structure for the KFF is displayed correctly on the OAF page.
But now the requirement is to add a new KFF on the OAF page which is duplicate of the existing KFF, along with the existing KFF field; the structure and segments are same. Only difference being the display name of the existing KFF field is Account; the new one needs to be Tax structure.
Using personalization we added a new flex item and added the properties same as the existing KFF.
ApplShortName - SQLGL
Name - GL#
Type - Key
But the page is giving following error:
The data that defines the flexfield on this field may be inconsistent. Inform your system administrator that the function: KeyFlexfieldDefinitionFactory.getStructureNumber could not find the structure definition for the flexfield specified by Application = SQLGL, Code = GL# and Structure number =
We tried options like compiling the flexfield definition, but the error persists.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Please check whether your key flex structure is frozen or not. If now please freeze it and re compile and try.

Issue with Smart View Help Contents using v11.1.2.0.01

Hi there,
I just installed v11.1.2.0.01 (Build 003) of the Smart View add-in on a MS Windows XP SP2 PC with MS Office 2003 SP3.
Unfortunately, the Help Contents in MS Excel does not seem to work as whenever I select Smart View > Help > Contents, nothing gets displayed. Selecting Smart View > Help > Technical Support and Smart View > Help > EPM Documentation takes me to various links on the www.oracle.com site.
I uninstalled then re-installed this specific version a few times but to no avail. I even checked the contents of each subdirectory where Smart View has been installed but could not find any Help files whatsoever.
1. Has anyone ever encountered this issue?
2. If yes, what do I need to do to resolve this issue and get the Smart View Help to be displayed?

Well, reading the documentation about knowing where to find the documentation would have actually helped. At the bottom of page 10 of the Smart View ReadMe document, the following is mentioned under the "Documentation Updates" section:
"For Smart View online help to be available, the Shared Connections URL on the Advanced page of the Options dialog box must contain an EPM Workspace URL."
This question is now answered.

HP ProBook 4540s (H5J79EA)
How much memory could I put into a HP ProBook 450 (H6P51EA) ?? (maximum memory)
It is difficult to find this information (It is difficult for me as I need to traslate from english.)
I read the http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14588_div/14588_div.PDF , but there is no concrete information for H6P51EA.
Help me to find out with it. Where I can find this information?
It will be better if I will know max memory for each of the notebooks.

Cannot download Elements 10 local help content

I am trying to help an elderly friend who has been struggling to install Elements 10 local content for almost twelve months.
We have created an Adobe I'D and password that I am using to post this. However when we try to sign in via elements to download the help files which are shown as pending, the sign in process seems to hang with no error report.

How to edit ABOUT and HELP contents after app build operation?

I hope people can read the HELP contents and ABOUT information from the program after I build the VI into an exe file or an install file. I don't know where to edit those informations. Thanks!

After you build a VI into an application, (.exe) nothing in it can be changed since any changes would require the application to be recompiled, and that requires the LabVIEW development environment.
On a Windows PC, the "Help" file is external to the application, so you could setup in the VI Proerties > Documentation the link to the exteranl Help file, then edit that file whenever you need to. This path would have to setup before you build the .exe and would not be able to be changed.
You could use a similar approach for an "About" screen. Make a sub-vi for the About screen, and have the application builder set to "Small target file with exteranl file for suVIs" under the Build Options. This will create two files for your built application. An .exe th
at is your top level VI, and an .llb that contains all your subVIs. When you need to change the About info, you would just need to modify your original About dialog, then copy it into the .llb of the built application overwritting the original one.

Flash 9 Public Alpha Help Content

I am unable to access help content in the Flash help panel.
Nothing is displayed. I can't search for AS1, 2, or 3 content. Is
anyone else having the same problem?

Requiring user to have our license file to access help content

On Colum's blog, he references a process by which his team used their product's license file as a way to limit access to RoboServer-hosted help. Specifically, he stated:
"My team and me have had to build a series of hoops and then jump through them in order to get the documentation into a production environment. This includes displaying the documentation in a secure browser and with an application that uses basic authentication to pass (unbeknown to the end user) a userid and password to display it. The basic premise being that if you don’t have access an application license you won’t get access to the documentation."
This sounds like an approach that may be exactly what my team could use. We require a license file for our product (even during its demo period) and requiring a valid license file for one to access the help content would ensure that only authorized users see the help.
Obviously, we would want this process to be as painless and transparent to the customer as possible.
Has anyone done this? Can anyone provide some additonal details about the effort and process required? I'm looking for enough info to take this to development so we can examine the feasibility of doing so and I'd like a somewhat clearer idea of the process before I bring it up for discussion.

That was a old blog post and as you no doubt know things move quickly in this wonderful career of ours.
I really should update that post to state what happened in the long run. In short we tested a Java browser (our app is written in Java) that did as I described plus tied down all the usual browser functionality (e.g. visible URL, right click menu, etc.). However, and it was a big however, the browsing history was still recorded on each end user's PC. There was no way that we could find to stop this. Therefore despite all the effort we had gone to, there was nothing to stop anyone from interrogating their browser history and accessing the help via one of the URLs recorded there.
In the end we decided to ignore the Java browser solution and allow the users to access to help in their default browser. We even sacrifaced the user authentication on the grounds that it required a lot of coding effort and did not offer us the security we originally required.

Online help contents

Hi,
I think this is probably a very straightforward thing to do but what's the best way to go about editing the online help structure and copy?
I saw that all the files are on the the following location, [imageserver]\plumtree\ptimages\imageserver\plumtree\portal\private\help\. All the content appears to be html and the menu's constructed using xml. If it were just minor changes we were wanting to make, it would be easy just to change the copy or alter the xml but as we're wanting to replace the whole thing with our own version this could get quite messy.
From the comments in the html it was originally built using a Robohelp product. Would I need to install Robohelp or is there a Plumtree method to re-build the help files akin to the Stylesheet Mill?

Ani,
The help files are generated by RoboHelp from our internal RoboHelp-configured documentation files; RoboHelp uses Microsoft Word as its primary interface. At this time we do not ship our proprietary Word files mainly because of the enormous work required to make this installable and usable by customers (it would effectively be a new product). You would need both Microsoft Word and RoboHelp installed to make such changes even if we did ship the templates. Frankly, no software company that I know of ships their help template files.
Editing the HTML files themselves doesn't make sense because of all the custom work RoboHelp does to index and structures the help files.
Your best bet would be to write a new set of help files in HTML, either using standard HTML tools or an HTML Help authoring tool, RoboHelp being an example. You could then link your new help "site" into the portal.
Adding an external link is easy. You can display the help content itself in your portal by creating a new portlet that "gateways" the content directly. You can add an external link you add to your subportal (via the Add Links feature), and it will then show up directly in your navigation as a mandatory link. You can add a link to your new helpsite in the Community Knowledge Directory of a community, and then use the "Create Snapshot Portlet" to create a portlet on a page in your community that includes a link to that site. Finally, you could author a new portlet that included an external link to your new site. Check out the Knowledge Base and our Support Center for more details on any of these features.

I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated.

I want to back up an Iphone 3G and put all the content into Iphone 4. When Iphone 4 is connected to Itunes I do not get an Option to restore from Iphone 3G. IOS 3G - 4.2.1

You will first have to update your iPhone 4 in order to restore it from the backup of your 3G. Follow the directions here:

This is an erase/restore deal, so make sure all of your data is on your computer before you begin. iOS 6.1.2 will be installed on your iPhone 4.
Once done, on your iPhone 4: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You'll now be able to restore your 3G backup to your iPhone 4.

Are you trying to log in to ExportPDF from Reader? If so, please make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates in Reader. You should be using version 11.0.07 (Mac OS) or 11.0.08 (Windows)--earlier versions caused this sign-in error that you're seeing.
