Could not connect to localhost

hi
i wonder what's wrong with the J2EE installation. i get both the server and cloudscape started up correctly. but i 'can't deploy the PetStore demo: Could not connect to localhost
then i tried starting the J2EE tutorial, started the deploy toll: it started but the console says: Could not connect to local host
when i call http://localhost:8000 in browser the default J2EE page appears.
what's wrong?
p.s.: how do i assign duke dollars to a topic? can't find anything in the FAQ ...?

Server admin could not connect to localhost

Hi,
the Problem I have is that I could not connect to the server at localhost. Server admin shows connection error.
Maybe it is a problem with my certificate state. I have deleted the default one and have to recertificate my own one.
Any ideas?

Others have posted in the past that the SA or WGM has 'issues' when the default cert is blown away.
Have you considered doing a clean install on another volume, then move the default from that install back into your current one? Just an idea before I've had my first coffee.

Could not connect to any JRun/ColdFusion servers on host localhost

I am a new CF admin and I am trying to upgrade my Apache. I am following the instructions in http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7fd9 .html but am getting an error. Could not connect to any JRun/ColdFusion servers on host localhost
I am running CF8 on Linux Suse and trying to upgrade apache to version 2.2.22. I am running apache on server-1 and ColdFuson on server-2.
I tried running the following on server1:
/data/jrun4/bin/wsconfig -server cf8-2 -ws Apache -bin /data/web3/apache-2.2.22-general-cf/bin/httpd -script /data/web3/apache-2.2.22-general-cf/bin/apachectl -dir /data/web3/apache-2.2.22-general-cf/conf -coldfusion -v
but got the error.
So then I tried installing apache on server-2 and running:

I got the exact same error.
CF is definately up and running.

Yes, Coldfusion is running and I have root access. You need
to be root just to get the installer to run and to execute the
Apache connector to produce the error I pasted into my message. My
firewall is disabled, as is SELinux. I'm not sure how to "Write
small program to check socket creation..."

The error comes if :-
1. Incorrect version of JDK.
2. Java_Home is not set.
3.The port is already as an old binary is using it.
Please check on the above lines.

All the Exchange 2013 Prerequisites appeared to install correctly. The installation of Exchange 2013 on Windows Server 2012 hangs at Initializing Setup. Then I find event 4027, source MSExchange ADAccess in the application event log. The
same thing happens if I try to prepare the Active Directory from the command prompt. The old Exchange 2007 server and Active Directory Server are on the same network and all firewalls are off. The entire content of the event is below. Any ideas

Please make sure whether you install exchange 2013 on a DC server. If so, we don't recommend you install Exchange 2013 server and DC server on a server.
Please use ping to check if the server you will install exchange 2013 server on can communicate with DC server.
Please use telnet to check if 890 port is opened on your firewall.

Could not connect to remote service [rmi://localhost:1099/

I have a large deployment with two filr appliances and one database and one search index.
I am running zen load balancer in front of the appliance which works great.
There are no config changes to the filr appliances in terms of port redirection.
I had an issue upgrading from 1.0.1 to 1.1 so I blew it away and started fresh.
After I installed and configured the appliances there were no issues . Now the :9443 configuration section will not work I get
(this is just the top lines)

I restarted filr2 and the admin section 9443 comes back for a short time. Maybe 10 minutes then I get the same error. But now after the restart I get and authentication box asking for credentials on 8443. when I put in the admin or other creds it directs me to a page that says

I have rebooted to no avail. If I restart the jetty service I do get the appliance login for 9443 but if I try to login I get the same message about [rmi://localhost:1099/
again if I reboot then 9443 works for 10 mins but 8443 gets hosed. Everything worked fine until I rebooted the appliance.
I am afraid to even reboot these appliances now in fear that the will cease to work.
I should also note that this was part of the upgrade issue I had after I rebooted all of the appliances.

The password in the FILR appliance configuration 'Outbound E-Mail' was too complex (with special characaters). After changing the special characters with letters and/or numbers, the server starts without any troubles!

I have also another hint from SELinux.
When I change the SELinux parametr from Enforced to Permissive, and I run the SAPinst program, the SELinux pops up the following alert:

(http://people.redhat.com/drepper/selinux-mem.html) web page explains how to
remove this requirement. You can configure SELinux temporarily to allow
/tmp/sapinst_exe.6387.1318347447/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so to use relocation
as a workaround, until the library is fixed. Please file a bug report
(http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi) against this package.
Allowing Access:
If you trust /tmp/sapinst_exe.6387.1318347447/jre/lib/i386/server/libjvm.so to
run correctly, you can change the file context to textrel_shlib_t. "chcon -t

change the default file context files on the system in order to preserve them

I have installed CF MX 7.0.1 in my Mac (Intel Duo), but, for
some reason I have to configure my "built-in-server" manually!!!
When I tried to access to te configuration wizard @
http://localhost:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm
I get an error message: Could not connect to the server
“localhost”. Please, help!!!!!!
I uninstalled and reinstalled CF several times... no luck...
I don't have experience with this product and at this point I'm
going crazy!!!

actually open a second thread... I saythis only as youll probably
get more of a response as there seem to be more peopel running it
on Win than OS X. But ill try and help as much as i can... ive
installed on XP before so maybe ill have something of value to
offer.
Do you have windows firewall or any other firewall running?
Are you sure its actually running on port 8500 as opposed to
8000,8100, 8001?

EAS server error: Could not connect to administration Server

Hi,
I have installed Hyperion suite in Windows server 2008 R2. It was working fine but now when i tried to login in to the EAS console, I am getting the following error:
"Server Error: Could not connect to administration server".
I tried accessing the same through the web URL and I found "404 error - file or directory not found".
I verified all my services are up and running fine. I am able to connect to the essbase sever through Excel as well as planning.

Sorry for replying late.
I ran the EPM diagnostic and found EAS & APS application are failed. So as you mentioned, i tried re-deployment through EPM configurator.
But Re-configuration fails with error "An unexpected error occurred and the application will have to shut down" .

Connection test to database failed: could not connect to server

I restarted one of my HPOV NNMi 9.23 servers this morning and NNMi is no longer loading. I am seeing the following errors in the logs indicated:

Could Not Connect to Security Token Service Application

Receiving the following:
Get-SPSite : Could not connect to http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made
I have validated the site and app pool exist and are running... however, browsing to the url returns a 404 page. This is happening on 2/4 servers in my farm.
I have removed SharePoint and Web Server/Application Server Role from each server and re-installed SP to no avail... next step is re-image but thought I would check the blog-o-sphere first...

EAS Error: Could not connect to Administration Server

Hi Genius,
I have installed and configured Hyperion (11.1.2.1) Essbase & Planning successfully on windows server 2008 64 bit. For that I installed Oracle 10g Standard Edition as supported RDBMS. Due to RAM consumption I planned to install the Oracle Express Edition instead of Standard Edition. For that I export the tablespace which contains metadata of Hyperion products from existing database(SE) to current database(XE). After that I reconfigured all the Hyperion Products.
Once re-configuration completed, I tried to log-in to the Administration Server via EAS Console by providing server name as localhost and username as Admin. Then EAS console throwing error as "Could not connect to Administration server".
To solve this issue I tried following steps,
1> Remove the Cwallet.sso and create a new Cwallet.sso by using orapki bat file.
2> Backup the original ESSBASE.SEC file and rename the ESSBASE.BAK file to ESSBASE.SEC then I started the Essbase Administration service.

Thanks for your response. I observed the EAS logs clearly and came to know that there were no errors in Hypeas-syserr.log.

Could not connect to oracle OLAP

when i connect to Disco. Plus for "OracleBI Discoverer for OLAP" and Database as "localhost:1521:orcl" i got this message:

I think you forgot grant OLAP_USER, D4OPUB role to younis
Make sure D4OSYS user is created. D4OSYS is the owner when the Discoverer OLAP catalog is created.
Make sure the OLAPSYS user and OLAP_USER/OLAP_DBA role is created in order to grant D4OPUB. You might need to run $ORACLE_HOME\olap\admin\olap.sql to create those accounts eventhough you have OLAP option installed.
I found directly install latest Oracle database patchset (10.1.0.4) and then create database doesn't have those accounts automatically, unless you are upgrade from 10.1.0.3.

I am new to Endeca. We have an Endeca DEV server, MDEX 6.4.1. Forge is running fine. I am able to connect to the Orange App and getting the products. http://devmachine:8006/endeca_jspref/controller.jsp (with servername and Port: 15001)
Even tried to connect to get an existing record GetProduct("256782") and still getting the same 404 error. "{"Error reading from the connection.The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found."}". I could not get why it could not connect to the Server.
Please find below the sample code in C#, I am using to connect and get the records. I tried Web Service approach an could connect too but did not have a cle on how to implement the typeahead with web services. Please find sample code below. It would be great if someone can assist me.

Yes, I have the same problem. Don't know what the problem is. I think it has got something to do with your ethernet connection. Also when I change the network type from network bridge to NAT the error message change to the first numbers of my IP. And when I disable the network connection I get the MAC id.

Could not connect to X11 windows server

Hi All,
I am using OVM Server 2.2.1. I am having one VM which has Oracle VM template 10.2.0.4.
I want to start GUI and install another Database. I have export DISPLAY variable to localhost and then try to start DBCA but failed to start and giving error. "Could not connect X11 server".
I have tried below items:
1- I have already stop "service iptables and ip6tables".
2- I also did "/etc/inittab - run level 5" but still not able to start GUI.
3- I already doing "xhost +" but also giving error " unable to get display of "localhost". or I already give the localhost IP Address also. Still is failed to get the display.
4- I also try to open "vncviewer" but its not giving the display also.
5- there is not any /etc/gdm directory.
Any idea how to enable display on this?
